It began eons ago with two brothers….
Zedd and his younger brother Zordon had discovered what is now called the ‘Morphing Grid’. After the first failed attempt to tap into the power, Zedd was left mid-transformation. His physicals had been augmented but his flesh never returned, and what would have been his armor was turned into twisted metal bits all over his bloody skinless body. Zordon has yet to hear from his older brother ever since. Zordon was actually the first being to tap into the power successfully and became the White Ranger. He defended the cosmos for countless years battling the likes of the Machine Empire, Goldar, and Scorpina. It wasn’t until Infernus crashed on Earth and killed off most of the dinosaurs that Zordon ever truly needed help. After imprisoning the enemy deep under the Earth's surface, Zordon was wounded badly. Creating what would be known as Alpha 1, Zordon began a process spanning tens of thousands of years restructuring his ship into a grounded base of operations, creating new Alphas, upgrading the Morphing Grid with alien tech and the power/DNA of dinosaurs, and staying one step ahead of death.
Present day, 2018….
A volcano seemingly sprouted up out of nowhere on the Eastern coast of the United States. The behemoth known as Infernus crawled out of the top and used his geokinesis powers to move large chunks of rock at his leisure and dozens of lava men followed. From the ‘Command Center’ of Zordon’s, Alpha 4 was told to initiate the Ranger Protocol. A robot duplicate of Zordon in his White Ranger guise was sent to deal with the erupting forces of the alien creatures in the town of Ashwood. And with it a handful of power coins sought out young champions to carry the torch. With gear and tech upgraded by the inclusion of several dinosaurs and alien tech of Zordon’s, the Power Rangers were born.
The RP will pick up after the team’s first or second adventure. The group is still getting to know one another. With not everyone being in high school, this setting gives everyone a little more breathing room to develop their characters. The tone I’m hoping to base this on would be the more recent film, but rather than spend ages on the origin itself, we’re just jumping right into the meat of the concept. Think of this like the Breakfast Club meets Power Rangers with a dash of flavor from the early young adult misadventures of Spider-man.
As far as the colors, dinosaur options, weapons, Zords, etc. there’s a bit more freedom than the classic series started with. Similar to the Dino Charge series, players have to pick a dinosaur as Mastodons and Sabretooth Tigers were from a different period altogether and won’t be included. Also like Dino Charge are now several new colors thrown into the mix like the Purple Ranger, the Aqua Ranger, the Graphite [Gray] Ranger, etc. so it’s not the same old primary trio with the addition of pink and black/green [unless the cast would rather go for that]. We honestly don’t even have to have a Red Ranger and/or leader unless somebody wants to go that route. Any weapons will be produced by hand gestures, and we likely won’t make a mega-weapon out of combining all of them together. However I was keen on the idea of three Zords and/or weapons combining to make something more powerful also ala Dino Charge.
Here’s the CS requirements for the RP. As far as the designs of the Rangers I’ve already got some base micros worked up and a few concepts in the can. I’ll be using the Yellow Ranger, Ankylosaurus. The only color really off the table is White, cause it was Zordon’s. Since Zedd is tied to the legacy of the Red Ranger we don’t HAVE to have one, but we still can if somebody wants to claim that one. Here’s the two looks I may combine later for a White Ranger micro as well cause I’m a visual thinker. Imagine the Red Ranger suit colored more like the White Ranger with no real animal designation. I love the cape and the weapon. CS requirements are after the images in the hider tag LOL

As far as the villains, to keep it as close to the source as possible we’ll be going up against a cadre of enemies. The aforementioned Infernus and Co., Zedd, Scorpina, and possibly an enemy or two from the Machine Empire will all show up sooner than later. I’ll also add a bit in the CS for a recommended enemy to face and players can choose one from any of the Ranger eras. Here’s some images and quick write up’s for the first group of enemies…
Infernus: This guy and his minions are basically all made of rock and lava, with Infernus being the chief among them and the power behind their creation. His asteroid like starship is what began the extinction of dinosaurs.
Lava Men: The go-to minions and easiest beings for Infernus to create.
Other Lava Creatures: Infernus creates several lava/rock monsters such as giant snakes, spiders, as well as summoning more of his brethren from the molten core of the Earth.
Zedd: Zedd, as mentioned earlier, has somewhat of a different origin and is now the older brother of Zordon. He was the first attempt at a Red Ranger, and the result was the disfigured mid-transformed body he’s left in now. When this guy shows up he’ll bring his own army of minions, monsters, and allies.
There were a few people who showed interest in this from an iCheck with several write-ups for RPs that I’ll @ tag in my next post, but there’s still room for one or two players.
