Every few months I stop by here "just because". I've been doing so for like a decade. However, every once in awhile something really GRABS me and I stay for awhile. I live for those moments xD.

The og X-Men: The New Era turns 10 years old soon! I can’t believe how many amazing people I have met thanks to this RP, or the multiverse that has spawned from it since then. I love you all so much!

Coming back to this Guild and reconnecting with old friends is genuinely one of my favorite things in life. Much love to all of you who have been so wonderful to me over the years <3.

Professional Wrestling taught me how to imagine. Dave Chappelle taught me how to laugh. George Carlin taught me how to question. Uncle Iroh taught me how to be a man.

The ebb & flow of life can be overwhelming sometimes. However, every time I come back to this site I'm reminded why I never should have left in the first place. <3

Bio

I have always loved stories. It started with reading, then moved to writing, then Role Playing, and eventually to acting. My passion for storytelling flows into my love of various fandoms (X-Men/Comics, Critical Role, DBZ, GoT, Spartacus, Dexter, Mass Effect, Elder Scrolls, Fallout, Star Wars, and so...so many more). This site lets me be a part of bringing stories of these worlds and many others to life and gives me the opportunity to connect with people that love these things as much as I do. In a broken world this site stands as a haven for kindred spirits that are gathered under the banner of my absolute favorite thing in the world; telling stories. I love you guys :D.

I'm definitely still looking :).

I know that you don't have access to the character sheet and stuff yet, but I'm wondering if you guys have character concepts in mind? If so I'd love to discuss them.
Much love Red 😊

I have developed a Fallout System using the guts of D&D 5e. I call it Raiders & Radroaches. It is fast, simple, and I think it would work great for a Play by Post TTRPG. I have a setting in mind for a Fallout Campaign and want to see if there might be any interest.

The game I'm looking to run will be more focused on character driven arcs and storytelling than pure combat and powering up. There will be survival aspects (as any good Post-Apocalyptic game should have), very mature themes (so I'm only accepting 18+), and despite the game being developed with the guts of D&D the characters will never be Gods among men. Characters are mortal. Death, disease, and dismemberment are legitimate threats. So please don't waste your time or mine if you are looking for a power fantasy or a murder hobo style game.

I am looking to facilitate a group that tells intriguing stories, develops realistic characters / relationships, and that understands that even though the Fallout universe can be whacky from time to time...this game is going to present itself as a serious story of survival in an open world that will focus on what it means to live in a harsh, post-apocalypse.

If you are interested in committing to a game that respects characters with depth, have a willingness to tell stories that do not shy away from mature themes and real relationships (romantic or otherwise), and are open to parts of the story being dictated by the roll of a dice...please head over the the main Interest Check to post your interest.

I understand that there may be some concern with Blood Manipulation as a power. It’s a lot like Una’s powers in that there can be these big, dramatic bursts of power when it’s right for the story, but otherwise the power is trivial. The wonderful thing about collaborative storytelling is that it's easy to communicate when it is or isn't okay to use your powers in certain ways. His powers would never be used at all without explicit consent from my scene partners or the GM if it's in combat or something like that. There wouldn't be a risk of being OP because the luxury of a play by post game is that you can easily avoid that with communication.

I have experienced numerous situations where players abused their powers (usually not on purpose). It’s definitely something to be cautious about. The beauty of all of this is that it is so easily avoided, and even if someone abuses a power or goes overboard there is this little thing called the edit button that fixes the problem every time.

In collaborative storytelling characters should only be OP when it’s right for the story. On the flip side there are times when they don’t have enough control over their powers to even activate them…but only when it’s right for the story. If you follow that guideline (doing what’s best for the story), and have the decency to seek consent from your fellow storytellers as to when those moments are and aren’t appropriate you literally cannot run into problems. Where people run into issues is when they forget that it’s not just THEIR game. This story is told by all of us and when we are mature enough to be aware of that (which we are) then it really doesn’t matter what the powers in play are…it only matters how we utilize them to tell the story.
Awesome! I'm glad to see you show interest. What kind of experience do you have with D&D? What kinds of things do you love about the Fallout universe?
Years ago I started The New Era. Guild Fall destroyed everything my the players, co-gm, and I had built. I thought the site was over...dead. Somehow, it was reborn and it took scratching and clawing for months but one day this site thrived once again. I made the decision to try restarting my beloved X-Men game, and it was nowhere near as fun or successful as the original. I was discouraged, and left the sight for over year. I came back with the intention to do something new...but of course...X-Men called to me. I was so unsure about trying again, but I couldn't help myself. I was glad I did, because it became the best rp experience I had ever been a part of on this site. It was better than the original. Unfortunately my life fell apart months in. I had to step away and seek serious treatment for mental health problems. @Almalthia stepped in along with @Pilatus and moved forward. They carried the torch of something I have loved and been invested in for years at this point. Now...here we are...and it's beginning anew once more. This thing that has meant so much to me has been chugging along despite struggles and loss and periods of time where it seemed dead in the water. It's still alive.

Seeing this...how the hell could I not come back and try to a part of this? How could I not throw a character into the mix? How could I not try to be a part of keeping the spark alive? So, here I am humbly asking for permission to apply to this wonderful game. If you will have me I would love to play in your RP @Pilatus. It will feel weird to experience this solely from a player's point of view, but I wouldn't have it any other way...because this is your game. I just want to be along for the ride :).

Honestly I've been trying not to get interested...but fuck if I can't help it. I have spent so many hours diving into some sweet, sweet Fallout RP, and this looks like it has all the makings of something special. I was going to join a different RP, but I just can't pass this one up if I'm able to jump in.

It seems as though you are still accepting so I'll get a CS up soon. Upfront though I need to say that I will be out of town and away from dedicated internet for most of next week. So, depending on when you plan on starting the IC it may be best for me to wait to jump in. Either way I will go ahead and get a character concept to you in the near future. That is, of course, if you are still interested in adding to the group.
The characters are all fantastic. Hopefully I'll be adding to that tradition xD.
