My name is Paradoxial. I mainly focus on creating original roleplays, though I do love participating in others!

if you’re reading this, it means you are guilty. Guilty of embracing the lies of heaven. Guilty of trying to separate yourself from your sin, trying to separate from what makes you human as we all have blindly done for they who do not care for us. But the time of light is over, whether by choice or by pain you will come to see that. Your penance will be exacted by blood and fire, or by word and mind, and you will become one of us. You will lose your soul and embrace the true power of the dark. To usher in a new age one must first burn the past, and soon enough you will be the first spark. Take solace in that you will be the first heralds of the true world, the gleeful eclipse.

Welcome to the Gleeful Eclipse, Heralds. This roleplay will take you rampaging through the devout, holy land of Skorhn. No matter where you come from, whether as a common farmer from the grain fields or a high priest in the spires of the capital, somehow you found your way into the hands of the Gleeful Eclipse. Some call it the devil, others as the end of all things, but no matter its name it is the antithesis of the so called holy gods. It seems nothing more than to corrupt, destroy, and blight a land untouched by dark influence. In some way or another, you and your group have emerged from the cultist base known as “sanity’s demise” having become heralds, the long awaited masters of the Eclipses unholy power. Hundreds even thousands of unworthy have died before you emerged and their sacrifices will not be in vain, for you at least. Directed by the Gleeful Eclipse itself, your duty is to destroy and corrupt the holy land of Skorhn by any means possible. The classes available are at follows

the penance of the body

a village burns and a man screams in the middle. Pierced by dozens of swords, arrows and axes, he falls to the ground. The guards around breathe a sigh of relief, before he gets back up. His skin bursts off of his body revealing a slimy paled form. Tentacles lash from hidden orifices as the fight suddenly takes a turn.

Description: you have been broken physicially before anything else. By mutation or otherwise your physical From is your greatest asset, crunching steel plate like nothing or ripping opponents limb from limb. You could look like an 8 foot tall human with no skin or a 4 tentacles monstrosity, as long as you use your brute force to kill anything in your way.

shattering of the mind

a woman stands before dozens of commonfolk, standing between her and their quaint farming village. With pitchforks and scythes they rush towards her without restraint. She feeds on the edge and anger, before ruthlessly lashing out with elemental fury. Fire blasts the front line and from the back ice shards pelt the weaker men. In short order she stands above a pile of corpses.

description: your mind has been broken and your powers rival even the holiest of priests. Mastering the forces of the elements, you dish out massive direct damage from your frail physical form, corrupted mind destroying any magic that is brought against you.

the corruption of the soul

a town suffers from a blight of locusts. A priest in a small village turns into a cult master of the Eclipse. A high noble is found having been slain by his own hand. And far away in a dungeon dripping with corpses and blood, a corrupted soul completes his masterpiece. The supply lines come down and an army is routed, without they having ever seen his face.

description: these are the truest embodiments of the eclipse. Although they do not deal direct damage of the elements as their brothers do, these black hearted specialize in the plagues and corruption of others. With a glance a commoner mentally unprepared can break out in disease or madness. A word turns a devout priest into a cultist. Though rarely seen, their plans slowly cultivate the world for its inevitable doom.

Character sheet:

Name: (before you were saved)
Nickname: (what the villagers cower at the sound of)

Appearance: (photo or description is fine)

Class:

Strengths: (any notable advantages your character has, physical strength or mental prowess.)

The before: explaining your characters life before being taken by the cult, and the story of your capture or encounter.

The after; explaining the torture your character endured, and his subsequent activities in the cult and dealing with the Gleeful Eclipse.

In total these should be at least 2-3 paragraphs, detail encouraged!
Interested to play a killer :)

Premise: hello there! This is a pretty niche Roleplay, consisting of a group of once decent and fair hearted people being captured and corrupted, then set loose on the world to destroy what they once fought for. You could be the lowest of peasants, or the highest of templars, the tendrils and corruptions of the gleeful eclipse have never failed to subdue or entice a mortal. Whether through pain or acceptance you have shed what made you human, and embraced the darkness. Wielding awe inspiring powers of black magic and destruction your group of “heralds” will tear their way through a fantasy world of magic and wonder, unwilling or unable to see the darkness just behind the mortal veil. But you will make them see. This will be about a group of people who have been turned into half monsters, granted powerful spells or abilities by the embodiment of darkness, the Gleeful Eclipse. Needless to say this will be very 18+, so expect some amounts of gore and horror. Let me know if you’re interested, after we get a few people I’ll expand this a lot more :)
@rivaan@Vega7@the fated fallen

So, currently contacting the people who haven’t posted yet in the private dm’s. Current plan is if nobody responds, to just do a wipe and start you all in the town where you are currently, but with Vega’s character. I realize that this makes the earlier posts redundant but I don’t see much other option. Thank you to all of you who are sticking with this, especially @the fated fallen, you’ve been pushing for this thing since last year and I cannot thank you enough :) next update will come in a few days, either these people get their posts up or I’ll do a wipe.
@Vega7 you’re literally one post away from an introduction, if that’s any consolation.
@Crimmy could I play the repair guy? Either at the base or have my own little support ship/mech, either works
Slowly, mercifully the carriage jolted to a halt. Upon stepping outside, the true squalor of Ash was painstakingly revealed. Flickering candlelight vaguely shown through boarded windows, the glass long gone from most houses. The wind told a story of a coming storm, and the darkening clouds in the distance served to prove it. It appeared that the strongest indication of human life came from the tavern, whose faded sign swung frantically about from a single hinge. Respectively the church seemed quite abandoned though a slim figure quietly stepped out and walked towards the carriage.

Meanwhile, Roake quietly beckoned towards the group, signaling each of them to step forward one by one. No matter what each one of them did, they could not see his face which always seemed to be obscured in shadow. First was Voss.

Roake stares at the muscular man for a moment before gripping his shoulder with a bony hand. Leaning forward, he whispers “you see through the veil, take comfort in your solidarity. “ before pressing a small dagger into his hand. It is what appears to be solid steel, and has flowing script embossed on its sides. Somehow, it appears the script is glowing but the language is indecipherable.

Next was Adila, who was presented with a small bottle. The liquid inside was black, and the inscription simply read “he prospers, from my sacrifice.” No words were spoken to her, and Roake simply ushered her away before she could ask any questions.

2nd to last stepped Aliana. Though his eyes were obscured by darkness, she could still feel a withering gaze. “Your very existence is heresy, your steps track sin wherever you go.” He sighs for a moment, the wisdom of 10,000 years contained in a single breath. Silently he hands her a vial of purple liquid, crudely labeled “the fallen” in broken script. Before she could ask any questions, Aliana was roughly shoved away with surprising force.

Lastly was Kiera. It was no secret of her devotion, and she practically feel the eminence of shee’l tor emanating from the cloaked man. “You get one question, then you will go.” He said scathingly. “Anything you want to know.” He did not appear happy to grant this request, but nonetheless said it anyways.

So, I really thought this was dead. In absence of necromancers in the party, I will half resurrect this role play! Not going to declare this officially alive again until I can get a good head count again, but for the original 4 Roake has given you Christmas presents! Mysterious, possibly harmful presents, but presents nonetheless :) so uh, yeah, have fun? Coooooollllll...
Update: if nameless does not post in the next day I’ll be moving on without them. If he neglects to post on the next thread I will be forced to kick him from the role play unfortunately.
