Do not let loneliness make you forget your chains. Allowing someone back into your life who disrespected you is a disrespect to the old you who suffered.. remember that.

The Wolves Den

Rules

Respect The GM & Co-GMs: Sure, sometimes we make weird calls or say something that's not quite PC. Realize that the admin's have a hard job, the job of telling you that you are wrong and you need to change something. We don't like doing it but we have to sometimes. That also means that when things come too heavily into question, you need to let us deal with it. You can make our jobs easier by reading these rules and adhering to them. We promise, you'll like us a lot more if you do. We also encourage and welcome discussion on why an admin made a certain call. If you talk to us like people and not like we're your most hated enemy then there's a rather good chance you'll change our minds on some things...
*The Wolves of Mercy Falls Co-GM: Irisity! :]
Same Forum, Same Rules: You are in a sub-sector of the RolePlayerGuild forums. The Forum Rules and CoC are the over-arcing rules. Know them, love them, abide by them.
No dirty/sexual content: Absolutely no sexual content allowed. Romantic situations are always welcome in your story-telling, however they will remain completely innocent. Anything more touchy-feely than a kiss will be given an Inappropriate Content Warning. Take it to PMs if you'd like to continue in detail, otherwise just write fades to black.
Respect Your Fellow RPer: This involves basic netiquette.
* Don't yell at someone (USING ALL CAPS LIKE THIS IS YELLING EVEN IF YOU DON'T MEAN IT TO BE). Use exclamation points, bold, italics, whatever you want to make your point but don't yell in all CAPS. It's just simply rude.
* Realize we have people who identify with different religions, maybe a lack of religion, sexual orientations, locations, races, ages and whatnot. We don't expect you to be perfect but we do expect you to show a little maturity.
* If they do something in the RP that you think is wrong or illegitimate, ask them why they did it and if they'd change it. Discuss in the OOC or Private Message what the problem is. If a resolution can't be gotten to, ask myself or the CO-GM to step in and we'll help you fix the problem. (It's usually good practice to STOP the RP if this happens, that way you don't have to go back and say "Ignore these posts" or go back and edit them.)
* Don't be childish. If myself or the CO-GM asks you to fix a mistake, change something that isn't right or whatnot, just do it please. Don't make a fuss about it.

No "Bunny-moding": This means taking over another player’s character. Usually this kind of thing happens innocently enough but ends in major fights over what actually is happening. "*Vrynn attacks Corey with a vicious slash to his face and Corey drops to his knees in pain*" This is bunny-moding. Instead of allowing Corey to react to the attack, Vrynn assumed she hit him and told him how he was going to react. This is not acceptable RP. Never assume you know what the other character will do. (Sometimes, someone gives you explicit permission to run their character while away. This is the only time bunny-moding is acceptable.)
No God-moding: This one should be pretty easy. God-moding is when a character is able to do whatever they want, whenever they want with little or no consequences. People cannot dodge bullets. This is not allowed. This is also important for character creation as there are certain limits within this RP that must be adhered to, despite the fact this is a fantasy fiction RP with werewolves in it.. still, no god-moding.
No OOC in RPs: The RPs we have going on have their own OOC (Out Of Character) thread that corresponds. If you have random chatter to contribute that doesn't involve the RP, take it to these threads where you can spew randomness, embed videos, and generally be dorky to your hearts content. Having unrelated chatter in the middle of the RP threads is distracting to all the players, including you. When you need to say something out of character in the middle of an RP, such as to ask a question about a character's action, always use the OOC thread.
No Double Posting: Basically, this means let the other characters/players have a chance to react to you before you try continuing what is going on or just walk away from the conversation altogether. If you have two or more characters that you're RPing with but forgot to post as one, there is an [Edit] button on the bottom of your post. Use it. Don't double post. If more than 2 days have passed and nobody has responded to you, or if you know factually that your RP buddy is gone for a long while, then it is okay to post again.

All RPers, new and old, have room to improve our story-telling and interaction abilities so here are some tips to keep in mind to help everyone improve..

Roleplaying Tips

Clarity: Be clear about what is happening in your posts and try to make sure the other RPers understand. They will be acting on what they think you meant. Other RPers will post responding to the new posts and a long line of actions can form alarmingly fast. Confusion can cause massive problems if not cleared up quickly and can cause a lot of disruption to the RP as the line of actions may be undermined. Try to minimize confusion as it breaks the flow of the RP by being very precise with actions and their intended effect. (Remember, it's bunny-moding to force it to affect the other character, best to tell them what you want to happen and let them react accordingly.)
Collaborative Story: Remember that everyone else has an equal part in the RP's story. Give them time to do the things they want, don't change the story radically without asking others (Especially if you've made a large post. Changing it then having people go back to re-read it can be bothersome) and always leave room for their stories.
Consistency: Have your character act in ways that are typical of them. It sounds like common sense but it's often overlooked. While RPing an inconsistent character you're not really RPing just one character, but many. In short, it can lead to confusion. It can be helpful to write down the major personality quirks your character has and refer to that from time to time to remind yourself how your character should react in certain situations.
Drama: The point of every story is the emotion it makes the reader feel and every RP is basically a story. The general tips of good RPing are the same as good writing. One that stands out above all else is try to have a good taste of drama in your character and their actions. How to include drama? A heated argument between two characters is dramatic. A character hanging on for dear life as other characters struggle to save them. In other words any situation that the reader genuinely believes your character might die is dramatic. Any deep emotional interaction between characters is dramatic. Don't be afraid of "non-action" because those are the times when you get to reveal your cool or misguided past and either gain sympathy, empathy or maybe even jealousy or hatred from the other characters.
Respect the other characters: Respect the other characters and what they can do and what they have been through. Remember that no character is the 'main character' and that each character is probably something it's player is attached to.
Be aware of your IRL situation: Keep in mind what your work schedule, sleep schedule and time zone is compared to other RPers. If you find that you're having to force yourself or someone else to stay up too late or you want to RP with someone who is never on at the same time as you, consider changing your strategy. Sometimes you just have to accept that you can't RP with certain people due to these very real time restrictions. This also goes for double-posting. Give the other players time to respond and never expect someone to respond to you quickly. Give it up to a day just in case someone was called away for a chore or a phone call before you post again.
When in doubt; Rewind!: If the situation is too muddy and everyone is fighting over what should have happened, that couldn't be right, how dare you etc... then just throw up a vote. If 75% of the players in an event agree that rewinding to an earlier point and replaying the situation is for the best, then please do. We want to have fun, not create problems.

Plot

Yes, this Literate Role Play is mainly based off the books 'Shiver', 'Linger', and 'Forever', by Maggie Stiefvater. At one point, when first introduced to the series, I was obsessed! I read the first book three times and the middle and last ones twice. I'm really hoping someone other than myself on this site has read the series.

The Cold

Changes us. Makes us.. something we never once imagined we could become. Not our "normal" selves. Yes, I know it sounds crazy, gnarly even, but it's true. It takes away our skin, replacing it with a ruff, warm and bristly fur. During that time we stay with our pack, our only family and friends in the woods beyond any form of civilization. We wander into their yards every so often for their trash, barbecue, and unfortunately in rare cases, their pets. There's no way to avoid or to hide from it. We have to shift...more or less, transform in the freezing cold, our muscles tensing and fighting the change, bones cracking and renewing themselves to create our new forms. We become.. wolf.

The Warmth

The time we are who we were born to be. We stay together, usually.. unless one of us doesn’t change on the normal schedule. We live among the normal ones - humans.. in our safe home, waiting in agonizing fear for the cold to turn us back into the things we dread most. We have to live with it, though. Dodging those rare, 'normal' ones who recognize us from our previous life in the woods, trees, and cold. We stay secretive, venturing out for food, and very seldom, our favorite places. In the warmth, we become what we once were.. human.

The Shiver

We stay together, biting and changing few. Some come to us, out of instinct, who are like us. Our families have rejected us, keeping us away from them. We all fled to somewhere safe. With our new family, the pack. Our old life is gone, our new one replacing it all too quickly for comfort. We can’t help killing the ones not like us occasionally, we don’t like being hunted for sport or going hungry. But sometimes.. we ruin lives. We hate it, but we do. We bite the ones not like us, making them.. us.

Basic Outline

You were once human, and you got bit by a Werewolf. You didn’t know they were what they were.. until you felt like crap, getting flu like symptoms.. Then, actually changing into a wolf on and off, no matter the temperature. Your families rejected you, and you found the one who changed you, deciding to stay with them where you come to realize you kind of belong. Among your own kind. Pack. You’re a wolf when its cold out, below 50 Degrees F. But when you go into a warm house, a warm building, or its above 50 degrees out, you turn into a human. This is not completely like the book, and only those of you who have read it will know why. xD The thing is, when your a wolf, your hair color doesn’t matter, only your eyes and personality are passed from your human form to your wolf form. No, when in wolf form you Cannot talk to each other! But, you can send each other mental images of whats going on around you, and you can sense each other’s feelings and have an amazing sense of hearing and smell. For example, you can tell the type, and speed of a car on a distant highway from your enhanced hearing. Any questions? Ask me, please!

(P.S- The Werewolves do have a house they go to, owned by a wealthy werewolf - also can be seen as their Alpha. They don’t go there in winter, they usually just stay in wolf form during that whole time. They also have a shed in the woods with extra clothes, supplies, and other stuff for when they come back from a change.)
@Overlord24@A Tattooed Girl

Both interesting propositions.
Perhaps after a cure is found, they can set up more walls/fences around Eon Town to keep out the zombies and rebuild society there. (Zombies aren't coming back- It'll just be a vaccine probably)

As for the ditto thing, maybe eevee instead? I can see their genetic makeup causing mutations in the virus.

... First thing I see searching up Ditto:

Stuff of nightmares.

That's Mega Ditto xD
Yeah that'd work, perfectly, honestly!
@NewMoonGamer Maybe the cure could be found in the DNA of dittos, since they are so adaptive to molding into just about any living thing they want? ... :) food for thought, doesn't have to be that specific idea xD
"Head in the Clouds"

@Altered Tundra That's okay! I just figured I'd ask/offer ^^
@SweetOwlette

@LoneSilverWolf & @FreyaRoseJane might.. they've been really busy lately and we have yet to get our own HG started, so I'm not sure. @Altered Tundra @flightless-angel-castiel you guys, by any chance, have an interest in a HG RP? The first Games..! :)
Chris, Cian and Davina

Eon Town
Davina's POV

"It's because of him that we can't stay longer, you know that, ri-"

"Him is right here, and him can hear you, assbutt. You could have easily stayed behind, they don't want me. Not exactly a new feeling. I can survive on my own!"

I grit my teeth and continued to pack my bag. I'd been hearing this bickering all morning, and only wished I'd had a Psychic pokemon to forcefully shut their mouths for me. In my peripherals, I could see Cynder and Suicune laying on the floor beside one another, but not touching. Those two were a funny pair. They never liked touching each other, almost as if the two types were to touch they'd evaporate and cease to exist. From outside, I could hear Chris's Charizard pacing impatiently in the street waiting for us to come out from the guest house. I couldn't recall ever meeting a Charizard with such a temper, before. Chris's really set the scale high, in that area. Cian's Hitmonchan sat on the same bed as Grimm, holding Grimm's thick club in it's hands just analyzing it. Grimm stared at it with watchful eyes, keeping an eye on his prized possession.

"We need to get a move on. They were gracious enough to allow us to stay another night. If you boys are done moaning and groaning, I'd like to leave this place in good graces."

With that, both of them immediately stopped talking and exchanged a look before grabbing their pokemon and belongings before heading out the door. I immediately followed with my own pokemon falling in behind me, Grimm closing the door behind us. I pull Suicune and Grimm's pokeballs out, withdrawing them into their imprisonments. Not that I liked to, but it was much easier just keeping track of one pokemon rather than all three at once. Both Cian and Chris doing the same, Cian leaving out his Houndoom and Chris keeping his Arcanine for ground patrol and his Charizard to patrol from the skies while we traveled on foot. It then dawned on me that all of us were using Fire types, so I switch out Cynder for Suicune, who seemed more than glad to be out of it's sphere cage. I strap my pack over my shoulder and walk towards the edge of town to the gate, the human bear and karate kid following at my heels with our pokemon not far behind them.

Once at the gate, the guard gives us an acknowledging nod and opens it up for us. The mayor stands a few yards away with her hands connected in front of her, watching us as we show ourselves out. I raise my hand in a goodbye gesture, but get nothing more than a slight smile before we pass out of sight and hear the creaking of the old gate doors shutting once more. Now we were on our own, the three of us and our faithful companions. I took a look around and noticed that there was still a bit of remaining early morning fog hanging thick in the air, and it was a little too quiet. From within the camp, you could hear people calling out, sounding like they were shooing something. Suddenly, a loud flap! sounded off causing Cian and I to turn and look as Charizard takes off like a bullet from inside the town's border, taking to the skies. Chris, obviously knowing his Charizard too well, doesn't even have to look. A smug smile on his face.

"Ty is a hypocrite. Rushes us for taking too long, but is the last to leave.

"Why you gotta judge Ty? He was just saying bye to his girlfriend," Chris chuckled.

I gave a confused look to Chris who neglected to speak further, looking to Cian for an answer, raising my eyebrow. Cian's eyes meet with mine and he smirks, as well.

"Who am I to argue? A man's gotta get some when he wants some!"

The image in my head that Cian provided caused me to cringe, shaking my head in attempt to rid of the memory.

"You guys are disgusting."

"No, we're guys. It's literally encoded in our genes. We need physical-"

"Ah ah ah! Stop - I don't wanna hear it."

Chris and Cian fist bump and laugh between each other. I allow myself to fall behind and walk amongst the trio of pokemon, laying a hand on the back of Suicune's neck tenderly. It was calming to me to be surrounded by pokemon, I'd always loved it, even as a child. I didn't have to have a set place to stay, anywhere my pokemon were, I felt at home.
Brynn Wild

Grimm struggled slightly to keep up with my walking pace, practically having to run every so often when he'd fall a little too far behind. It made me laugh a little, but I wouldn't let the laughter slip past my lips. One, didn't know who was watching me from the shadows, and two, Grimm got his feelings hurt quite easily. That's a cubone, for you. I unclip Grimm's ball from inside my vest and stop, turning back to him. "Come on, Grimm. Take a rest, huh?" At my offer, Grimm seemed to force a smile and reluctantly stop in his tracks, grunting softly. "Bone." I half smile back at him and click the button and withdraw him, safely tucking him away in his rightful place.

Turning back the way I'd been traveling with the only light guiding my way was the moon, when not covered by the dark clouds above. Suddenly, a loud, ear-piercing screech filled the skies, as well as a bright glowing mass of a pokemon soaring over the city. Zapdos. 'Holy hell,' I mused in thought, watching as the gigantic bird disappeared and the streets came to life with light. Before I could make a move, a good dozen pokemon, or two, ran through the city street past me, seeming to be chasing the beasty in the skies. From a distance, I could hear voices. Some shouting, and others just simply talking.

Curiosity took its hold of me, and I couldn't help myself. Running to the corner of the street, I stopped and peaked around the building. People! Where the hell were they five minutes ago? I slowly step out into view, walking down the street among them until suddenly I spot a Regime soldier. Not one, but at least half a dozen in plain sight. My stomach suddenly dropped down to my toes. 'Fuck me,' I thought as I averted my eyes to the ground and kept walking, glad I'd put Grimm away before making my way through the lot.

My feet were aching from walking throughout the night, and my stomach hurt something awful but I wasn't ready to give up yet, especially not here. I rub my eyes gently and look back around. Most of the regime had disappeared, some still sticking around checking up on the few people standing around their doorways, and others walking among the few who now walked the streets. Talk of the legendary beast seemed to be what, literally every single person that passed was stuck on. Through the discussions, I heard a voice speaking of New York itself turning insane, 'or something'. Moments passed as I tried pinpointing the very conversation, attempting to locate it's source.

"-One of you stop standing around and help me carry him? This guy is in no condition to walk and I need to get him to a medical facility. A hospital, anything!" There it was again, but closer! I look around and lock eyes with a group of soldiers heading directly towards me. An alleyway just to my left seemed to be my quickest route of escape. I took it, keeping the soldiers in sight and suddenly, smack! I stumble back a step and quickly apologize, looking over the back of the person I'd run into. @Whimsley Tall, definitely over 6'0" with jet black hair, so black it seemed to have a hint of blue to it. Peeking around the man, I found myself stumbling into much more than just a single man. 6 people. 7 pokemon.

I spot the Regime soldier, and step back a bit more, taking a look at the others surrounding him. They didn't look Regime, not even sympathizers. "Is this all your doing? What happened to him?" Not that I particularly cared for the Regime scum, but I was curious as to what the hell was going on. With soldiers on their way soon to pass the alleyway's entrance, I couldn't help but be slightly panicked at the thought of them seeing me amongst these people and a soldier of theirs lying unconscious on the ground.
