Quinten's smile spread almost to his ears and he immediately looked over at her out of the corner of his eye, then back towards Caleb. He couldn't blame his pal, she was one of the prettier girls in their grade. Hell, she always had been. Even in grade school. Any boy back then would have risked cooties to have just simply held her hand. "'Thinking Out Loud', bro?" he gave a light chuckle, but was cut off my Jacob's response.

"I wonder why you're so excited Lover Boy,"

Immediately, almost in sync with Caleb, he turned to glare at Jacob and mouthed, 'Shut up!' Quinten quickly side-glanced Indie before turning to give Jake one last glare, giving Lily a friendly 'hello' smile before turning back to address Caleb's offer of coming over after school to play some COD. There was no hesitation in his reply, he hardly let Caleb finish, "I'm so down. Get to wreck on some noobs!" Quinn smirked, all this time having continued to play the song on his guitar, which now came to a final end. From his right, Quinn could hear Jake inviting Lily over to their house. His face crinkled up in disgust, leaning closer to Caleb as he murmured, "We're gonna need to crank up the surround sound, if you catch my drift."

Suddenly it came back into his attention that Indie had bandages on the side of her head, so he decided to ask lover-boy. Whispering as low as he could so Indie, who sat right in front of Caleb, couldn't hear. "Ey, do you know what happened to her?" After a second of hesitation, he continued, trying to sound as genuine as possible, "Maybe you should talk to her. Ask her if she's okay, man." As much as it could have been taken as teasing, Quinn knew Caleb know him well enough to figure the tone in his voice meant otherwise.

Peeking up from her science packet that she'd already managed to blow through without trouble, she looks at her binder where she wrote down her science fair project group's names. Oberon Grimbald. Ebony Washington. Clyde Lee. Thomas Jones. Jake McKinnon. In her boredom, she began to draw over Jake's name, then scribbling over it, blacking it out. 'There, perfect,' she thought to herself with a smirk. Looking around the room, Aria scanned from her back left all the way to Clyde who sat right beside her on her right and stopped. He had his head buried in his arms, appearing to be upset. It came to her attention that the teacher had mentioned the girl who'd sat in front of him moved a few days ago. Were they friends? Had to be. Or something at home was going on. Either way, it almost hurt Aria to see him look so sad. Reaching over, Aria tenderly tapped his shoulder twice with a single finger. "Hey, um.. Clyde.." Was that- ..yeah, that was his name. Normally she wasn't bad with names, but for some reason it was a bit difficult to place his at the moment. "A-Are you okay?" From her left came a voice, one she wasn't particularly familiar with.

"We should designate sections of the assignment to each person in the group. Equal work, but minimum interaction." Already, Aria was starting to not like this guy. The way he held himself and spoke to her, he seemed to act as though he thought he was better than the rest of the class.

"Everyone holds up their own end. Anyone who fails to pull their weight will be reported and," strong dramatic pause, "-offered up to get a flat failing grade." Okay, yes. That was understandable and no-doubt an obvious rule among any group project.

"The sooner it is planned and delegated, the sooner I can be done with such trivial so called 'science' of making a child's volcano. I have better things to waste time on than something so simple a six year old could do an adequate job at completing..." Aria half turned towards Oberon at this point and looked him dead in the eye, narrowing her own just slightly when she noticed his smirk.

"There's no need to be a snob. I don't know where you get this.." Aria stumbled on the word she wanted, "-attitude.. but there's no way we're going to be one happy family in this project if you're going to start being that way. However correct you may be in the fact the people who do the least work, or no work at all, will be credited properly.. you could suggest said demands a little nicer." Aria looked from his eyes to his toes and back again, her lips pressing into a thin, frustrated sort of line. "And maybe smile every once in a while. Wouldn't hurt ya, would it?"

@sMoKe I think it would significantly injure said pokemon, but Id prefer to avoid them dying so soon. I'd say it'd hold the same 'laws of physics' as everything else. Maybe a few broken bones.. say if a pokemon were to use razor leaf or cut on another pokemon, if the bleeding didn't get taken care of, they'd bleed out. So, feint, and if not taken care of soon, death.

@Dusksong Moves aren't limited to just the four used in-game. You can use whatever moves that the pokemon is capable of using.
Battling isn't so much a thing, but it's there. Still very present, just doesn't happen as often because the Regime handles potions and items of that nature. Pokecenters have ceased to exist, and random strangers who still practice pokemon healing are few and far between. Basically, choose your battles wisely.
This RP is more about survival, in a sense.

My uncle, specifically, was a military captain. He brought me into the military under his wing when I was just 18 years old. Been a Regime soldier ever since. I know how to avoid them, so it's pretty easy for me to stay out of sight."

Jackson wants to be a hero, someone that everyone knows and reveres. But barring that, he’s willing to be a sort of dark knight. As the youngest of six and constantly disregarded, Jackson is independent and desperate to prove himself, wanting to show his personal talent and leave a legacy behind in the minds of everyone. But he’s not brash. He is content to observe and work quietly, and he’s very intelligent, which is no small aid. He thinks before he acts and is adept at seeing all sides and analyzing situations so he can act to his best advantage. He wants to be something and make something of himself; proving himself better than anyone could have expected is one of his highest priorities. Jackson's social skills need work. He has somewhat of a low tolerance for certain people and is dismissive of those who are loud, unsubtle, and quick to offer opinions for everything. Nevertheless, other people are often "entitled" to his opinion in the form of his biting sarcastic remarks. Other than that he is a quiet and even somewhat withdrawn guy. While he enjoys the company of some of people, solitude is a balm for him. He has to be able to think and study.

Jackson is a knowledge seeker. He is one of those people who believe that knowledge and intelligence are central to success and power, so many things fascinate him and he could easily be found reading if he wasn't constantly on the run. In his mind no fact or understanding of a process or a tendency is unimportant or useless, and may help a person when they least expect it to. As such, he can usually provide extra information on most any subject, even if he gives it in a condescending manner. He is proud of what he knows, both the facts and the underlying understanding of how things work. Interestingly, though, Jackson’s quiet, studious exterior hides somewhat of a rebellious and unconventional streak. He likes to go his own way and will do it willingly. He also respects authority, but follows rules when it suits him—in other words, most of the time, but not if he has something else in mind that he deems worth the risk of losing points in the eyes of his higher ranking officers or perhaps damaging his image a little. However, as important as that is to him, these moments come very rarely. More frequently his unconventionality is manifested in an experimentative tendency.

Jackson loves a challenge and he loves besting people, but it is usually a private victory for him. He needs not brag and draw attention to his success as long as he knows personally that he has won. However, this is not to say that he doesn’t need others’ acclaim. Being noticed is important to him, and he hates being ignored, but he would rather people notice by themselves how outstanding he truly is. That being said, criticism tends to bounce off of him as well--he is rather selective about what he hears and chooses to take to heart. Despite a sometimes ungracious manner, and a self-preserving and self-benefiting attitude, the guy is not bad at heart. He would always stick up for those he considers his friends, and is not averse to helping even strangers, after he is finished or providing it doesn’t inconvenience him. But when he is hurt, it is common to find him completely withdrawn and intractable, working only for himself in a kind of cool temper that can take a while to thaw out, even with the efforts of his closest friends. Unfortunately, Jackson is also prone to hold grudges after problems with others, and he is stubborn about them, though adaptable in other situations.

Jackson is a careful and patient guy. He’ll watch and wait for a long time with an observant and analyzing eye without feeling a need to do anything himself, gaining something from everything he sees. Not only that, he’s good at making what he sees help him in some way. He’s also good at using all the resources he can to help him achieve whatever goal he has in mind. Jackson is driven and works diligently to achieve any goal he’s set for himself, and places these goals above most other things. As such, he’s very organized; he hates clutter and his personal space, personal appearance, and his management of time and such are all very neat and organized, often following a schedule or other method of keeping everything in its proper place and time. It bothers him when things aren’t set out clearly and prioritized so they can be followed right. He’s a very good multi-tasker and his organization helps him make sure everything gets accomplished exactly when and how he planned it to. If it doesn't, he'll fix it until it does.

Jackson is roughly 6'3" and weighs a total of 194lbs. He keeps his dark brown hair cropped kind of short, maybe only a couple inches in length. His eyes are a light grey color that turn almost hazel when he's upset, which is very rare to see with him. When he gets mad, they seem to turn almost black, they get so dark. His body is toned and he continues to maintain that each and every day. He'll exercise with his houndoor Grimm for hours, when he can.

"Well, I met Electabuzz as an Elekid. He used to hang around my childhood home, and occasionally I would feed him. Even brought him inside from the rain a few nights. My parents didn't like me playing with the wild pokemon, so it was kept quiet for a long time. Elekid, at the time, seemed to be very understanding. Around the time when I turned 15, I was getting deep into my rebellious stage and went so far as to sneak onto a Regime truck and steal a pokeball. Well, technically an Ultra ball. I made sure to find an Ultra because its colors matched Elekid's patterns. When I returned home that night, I couldn't find Elekid anywhere. I searched and searched but he was nowhere to be found. I thought maybe he'd gotten picked up by the Regime while I was gone, so I sat the ball ontop of my dresser and left it as a reminder, thinking I'd never see him again. The next morning, however, I found an Electabuzz in my front yard staring me down. Only thing that told me it wasn't going to attack was the genuine smile on its face. It didn't take me long to realize what had happened. I then asked the, now, Electabuzz if it'd go into a permanent partnership with me. I offered up the pokeball, and promised him if he ever felt threatened by me or just flat out didn't want to be around me anymore, I'd set him free. We've been together ever since. He's my best bud."

"I came from a low-class migrant farmer family who didn't have much to begin with. Poverty is a disease in our family, one spread from generation to generation, even before the wars f*cked everything up even worse. My parents made sure to give my brother and I the best education their money could afford, though. They, as well as my brother, gave up their lives to let me escape The Regime. Our parents were late on their payments, and The Regime came to claim what wasn't rightfully theirs. Since I had my own pokemon that wasn't registered, my parents advised me to leave. My brother tried to join me, but they caught on that we were on the run and he created a diversion. I've been on the run with Electabuzz ever since."

Upon a first meeting, Raven is usually rather quiet. Although she likes the company of people, she doesn't typically approach others unless she's pretty sure they'll welcome it. Once acquainted with someone, though, she can be quite animated and talkative, more lighthearted and teasing the closer she is to someone. She is fiercely loyal to the people she cares for, helping them at all costs, and is generally kind. Her friends can always rely on her for level-headed advice, a listening ear, or help with classwork--regarding the latter, she's a hard worker that usually enjoys the work she does, and is prone to trying to focus people back on the main subject or task at hand. If she doesn't know someone, however, she can be judgmental at times if someone seems ignorant or shallow; Raven is fairly quick to form opinions of people and sticks to her first impression, unless enough contrasting evidence is set before her.

Raven is naturally outspoken and hates having to mask or hide herself and how she is. She knows how to keep quiet when she has recognized that caution and prudence are necessary, but would prefer to speak her mind, and can be rather blunt. Raven is opinionated and has things to say and ideas to give on everything, which contributes to activity in classes and discussions with her friends. She will doggedly uphold her beliefs no matter what. Raven has an acute sense of right and wrong. She believes in always doing what she believes is the right thing, no matter what other people say and think. She has a high sense of honor and returns assistance and even kindness to anyone who has done her a good turn, no matter how much she may dislike them. She is also usually, if grudgingly, fair, even if this is colored, again, by an inherent dislike of the person she is thinking about or referring to.

Although fairly intelligent, and someone who will give her all and put her mind to something once she gets around to it, Raven's mind can tend to wander off, especially if something big is weighing on her mind and what she's doing is rather mundane. Someone who likes to see the "big picture", she can get caught up in it instead of focusing on what she's doing in the here and now unless they are tied together. However, it's rare that she doesn't complete a task that she's given, even if it starts in a delayed fashion. She tries her hardest to produce good results in whatever she does, and once she decides on a course of action, she is determined to follow it through to the end. Quite stubborn, it is extremely difficult for someone to change her mind after she's made a decision, though she can be influenced successfully while she is still considering her options.

Although she tries to control her temper, it can be quite violent with proper provocation. During the end of the last war, she became much more easily provoked, taking more strongly to old prejudices; this has mostly worn off, but she experiences flare-ups occasionally. This was also accompanied by an increase in impulsiveness and recklessness, but she's really feeling more like her normal self, although a touch of extra spark and fire seems to be part of her for good. In her natural state, though, relatively free from any out-of-the-ordinary stress, Raven tries and usually succeeds in being clear-headed in her decisions, thinking things through.

Although she seems rather unassuming, Raven also is fond of adventure and trying out new things. Because she believes that doing something worthwhile in the world is important, and that there are things that people are just meant to do, she's always wanted to keep doing different things to figure out what she's good at and what she's passionate about. To a degree, she also just enjoys a bit of danger and the unknown, even though she recognizes that stability is often better and has become much more cautious than she was when she was younger. When it comes down to it, Raven values simplicity and straightforwardness in life. To her it's comforting to have a goal and know who you can count on, and having both she feels quite at ease with life. Whatever she does though, there's very little that the young witch regrets, and she's proud of who she is and where she's been.

♠ Physical Description ♠

Raven doesn't stand much taller than 5'6" and weighs a petite 114lbs. Her Mexican and Native features truly stand out with her dark brown, almost black hair, tanned skin and dark eyes to match. She has full lashes and fixed eyebrows to go with them. Her facial expressions usually show she means business, and it's rare to see her smile, but given the chance, she lights up any room. She has two tattoos and a paper crane necklace she wears. One of the tattoos is of black wings, one on each shoulder/arm, to go along with her nickname. The other is a quote across her chest that reads, "Can't put your arms around a memory."

Are we doing a posting order, or.... How do we want to run? like, 1 post per character per day?

Answer:I think a free posting order should be good. Normally I like posting order but its quite true that those usually take quite a few days to continue, having to wait for said people to post. Busy schedules will get in the way, and it is very understandable and can be worked with. However, it should be known that if there's no forewarning or something of the like to let us know there will be set backs in anyone's responses, there will be a sort of 'probation period'. There will be a 3 day grace period. If we don't hear from you by that 3rd day, you'll be placed on said 'Probation' list. If it hits a weeks time, you'll be placed on an Inactive/Resigned list. :]

How much do typing/pokemon moves matter in this RP? Is it more about survival/utilization of powers or pokemon battling?

Will pokemen operate under the same laws of physics as everything else? For instance, could you pick up an enemy's poochyena and throw it against a wall to damage it? Not that I actively want to throw puppies into walls, just asking. Second question, will injury / death occur at a natural level? IE, does the poochyena I just threw break its back against the wall like animals of similar size / physique, or is it unqualitatively "hurt" until it faints like the game?

Was wondering if the Regime uses those it captures to experiment on? (like human/pokemon fusions etc) 'cause they are about using pokemon as weapons?

Answer: Well, I would assume some would go to the lengths of science and experiment on said pokemon. :) Maybe trying to see if they can harness the power of a pokemon and give those powers to a human..? Personally, I think it would fit within our story quite perfectly. There's always those creepy, science-y people out there who are wanting to make the impossible happen.

It's now the year 2347 and things are much different than what they used to be. A certain man took his place in power and turned our customs upside-down. 2016 was the year things first began taking a turn for the worst, and fast. Our once Democracy has now turned itself into a Dictatorship, a Regime, if you will. Our military has been turned against 'We The People' and have since become a pack of lapdogs for the man in current power. They capture and seize those who defy him and his ways, and keep a close eye on 'his' people. Regime soldiers wander the streets all over the U.S., at all hours of the day, leaving little room for comfort among the rebellious few.

After the wars some decades ago, most of the cities lay in ruin. Both buildings and streets have since become overgrown with plantlife. Curfews are set at 8PM, and if you're not in your homes and locked in for the night by that time, soldiers will find you. They carry with them electric batons and assault rifles, only for the ones who manage to escape their attack pokemon. Ranging from Growlithes, Houndour, Poocheyena, and their respective evolutions. A few higher ranking officers even having Absols by their side. These pokemon have been trained to hunt down and capture whatever object, person or pokemon they are pointed towards. Their job is to cease any and all rebel activity. Such said activity has only sprung up within the last 6-7 years, but it is growing rapidly stronger with each passing year.

These previously stated 'rebellious few' are made up with those of us who believe that pokemon are here for companionship, not to be used as weapons of war. We are the ones who cannot be controlled. We are the Rebellion. We are terribly outnumbered, and have little to no leadership or resources. There's no real set plan, but what we do have is hope. Hope that we can one day take back our once beloved country, and put and end to The Regime. These pokemon being captured and used in the name of greed deserve justice. They can't speak for themselves, so let's give them a voice. Join the Rebellion. Make a difference!

This is a mixture of Pokemon and action thriller. Im old school and do not know ^{or much care for} all current 700+ pokemon and mega evolutions etc etc. I am knowledgeable up to the Third Generation (Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald) so that is the cutoff. I'm sorry if that's a deal-breaker. Stats and level will not exist. Special ability will not exist. I want a strong character to Pokemon connection, so you will not have 6 Pokemon. Ideally only 1, but I'm gonna allow anywhere from 2-3. That only being if you decide to go with a character on 'Team Regime', you or the people you're affiliated with may have political influence allowing you freedoms of having more than just a single pokemon. Otherwise, you're lucky to have Pokemon anyway, much less a pokeball to keep it in. All of that is regulated and controlled by the Regime. No matter the side, at the end of the day, we are an oppressed population. You will however have access to all available moves your Pokemon can do, not just 4 like in the games. If your Pokemon has evolutions, start off from the first to show growth throughout the RP. Be realistic with your choice. If you're a rebel constantly on the run from town to town, hauling around a Lapras makes absolutely no sense. You do not have to start with a Pokemon but it's fairly important that you attain one sooner than later. I will have two characters of my own. Both rebels, but one will be an ex-Regime soldier on the run. Although both my characters, neither will run into each other for quite some time. So if you choose to be around either of the two, that's where I'll be. Generally speaking, my plan as of now is for good, to ultimately triumph, in the end. That end could be hundreds of pages from now. Who knows! I'm open to anything. defeating a gym leader in this day and age is an absolute way to get tracked down and have your Pokemon confiscated by the Regime. 'Big brother' is always watching, and always in need of fresh, strong pokemon.

As I stated in the Interest Check thread, I am looking for writers that are willing to stick around and see this roleplay to the end. If you're unable to reply at least every 3-5 days, and in turn be understanding of those who can't reply until then ^{(of course they should be able to throw in a heads-up if they are going to be gone an extended amount of time)}, then please do not apply for this RP. I am in need of writers who can write 5+ sentences in each post, not including dialogue. I, myself, can be quite a 'grammar nazi' at times, but none of us are perfect. We all have our moments. As long as you have at least a high school reading/writing level, we're good. Attempt proper grammar and punctuation as much as possible, but it's okay. Again, not perfect.

I feel this RP has a lot of potential. Keep in mind, though, this isn't the video game. It is a real world action-thriller, as if Pokemon actually existed. Your pokemon are essentially your best friends, brothers/sisters.. they're what keeps you sane and alive in times like these. My reason for us not needing six of them at a time. The regime has their hand in everything that you could possibly think of. Pokeballs are practically non existent, along with many other items. If they find out you have a strong pokemon, the Regime will want, and try to take it. Speaking of strong pokemon, legendaries will not be these all-powerful creatures who are the cause of the world turning or things of that nature. Legendaries will just be dangerously strong pokemon who happen to just be a very rare breed/type of the sort. Of course, if they exist, the Regime most likely has hold of them. The Regime have developed a control device of sorts, allowing them to capture and use pokemon against their will. That is how the Regime came to be so powerful, they have numbers, and with those numbers, power.
