The Journey Begins

~ Unknown Location ~

The walk back to the cliff with the obelisk was fairly easy. It was where he and a few fellow Outsiders were transported to after escaping that courtyard with the two giants were fighting. Nick wondered who won that fight. While no doubt that both of them wouldn't have hesitated to harm him, he rooted for the golem thing since it looked less scarier and threatening than the black plant thing.

As for his fellow Outsiders, Nick wondered how Augusta and Isidore were doing in the mountains. Taking a glance over, the two stars still twinkled over the snowy peaks. Maybe he should've went with them after all, but what was done was done. Still, the mountains might be his next destination if nothing changes his course.

It was getting late when Nick reached the obelisk. The sun sank below the horizon as the scent of oceanwater filled his nose again. The black pillar casted its dark shadow over Nick who pondered on how to establish contact with the 'Sage'. Clasp his hands in prayer, just like how he did back in Earth when talking to the Heavenly Father? Well, it was worth a shot.

Nick brought his hands together and closed his eyes. He began whispering his words, "Great Sage. Though I am not of this land, nor this world, nor do I even have a sacred Moonblossom with me, I still pray to you for aid. Please answer my call."

Has it been 7 days already? It feels like I just updated yesterday...

"No, can't kill the defeated and captured. Makes us...worse. Please, don't kill her. If can, try to convince to help our side?"
Yang Bethlehem

"How about this: We take her back to camp and let Maria have the final word on what to do. It was her raid, so it's her decision, not ours."
Kira Gigas

"What?! No way! The Order has supported Varjo for as long as it has existed! Their soldiers deserve death as much as the Varjans do!" The rebels cheered at the rebuttal. "Besides, we have limited supplies so we cannot feed prisoners. And we have limited manpower so we cannot spare men to look after her."

"If you have not the heart nor the strength to do this, then leave her to us."

The rebels surrounded the unconscious lady knight. "For Sonarra!" The knight was then mercilessly gored by lots of axes from the rebels. She was chopped and hacked apart, blood and flesh flew in the air as the knight was butchered. Her only fortune was that she was not awake to experience the pain of being torn apart. The first aid Yang gave her was for naught as the lady knight was viciously executed.

Maria arrived embarked on a horse, the equine's trotting to a slow as they approached the Guild duo. "Once again, you have my gratitude, Guild. We are a step closer to power." Maria said, still atop her horse. "Soon we will be free from Varjo's shackles. Emilio is already making a plan to rid Sonarra of her Varjan garrison."

"Something has gone wrong, and so you must perform the duty I hired you for. It is a black, glossy piece of metal, appearing dark even in a well-lit room. It should be wrapped in several layers of cloth, but if it is not take care not to touch it with your bare hands. Do not allow anyone to come into direct physical contact with the shard. Wrap it carefully and return to me."
Fanilly Danbalion

"Angroron. It's a piece of Angroron. What idiots were keeping that around without telling the Church? Who sent you?"
Tyaethe Radistirin

"You realize we can't exactly let you walk away with the artifact. I imagine your employer is going to be a bit cross about that, but is that going to be an issue with your lot? Don't know what you're getting paid, but I doubt trading blows with the Roses was included in the billing."
Gillian Reynaud

"Hold on, guys. What's an 'Angry Moron'?" Jarde's question was drowned out by the other knights who were infuriated that a piece of immense evil was housed secretly in this fort. But context was enough, if it angered the veteran Iron Roses and somehow managed to cause all of this carnage then this 'Angry Moron' must be quite the artifact. Not only that, it appeared that multiple groups were aware of its location and had come looking for it. The pileup was just making Jarde's head spin.

Sir Gillian suggested to team-up with the mercenaries for now in search for the evil artifact, something that Jarde completely agreed with, but he made it pretty clear that once found, the 'Angry Moron' piece would be coming with the Iron Roses. Something that might cause an issue with Alette's band who was sent here to retrieve said artifact.

"W-Well, why don't we actually find this black metal first and then worry about who gets it later?" Jarde tried to diffuse the tension. "Who knows, maybe Miss Sharky-Shark may later change her mind about lugging around a piece of wacky evil that took down a fort by just being there. She doesn't want the same thing to happen to her own mercenaries, does she?"

"Now then, who goes with who and who goes where? Most importantly, does anyone have some extra sheets or cloths to wrap 'Angry Moron' with?"
I'll try to get a post out too.

“I...yes, you came from elsewhere? ‘Earth’? It must be a village very far away, but I don’t see how that is...relevant?”
Lord Enli

"I, no, it's..." Nick sighed and decided against clarifying to the village leader. "...Never mind. Yeah, me and the others came from a place very, very far away."

“There’s mention of a ‘Moonblossom’ at times in some records, although I don’t know what it is. Other than that...I can’t say. I apologize I can’t be of more help in this matter.”
Lord Enli

"Moonblossom, huh?" Well, Nick had no idea what that was either. Although, he guessed it must be some flower or plant based from its name. Did he need this 'Moonblossom' to contact the Sage? Now that would be a problem. Still, it was way better than nothing. "I'll keep that in mind. Maybe I'll go look for... whatever Moonblossom is later."

"Thanks again, Lord Enli. I'd love to help out your village as well as your relationship with Kyrnith buuut, it's looks like there's enough people on that already. So I'm just gonna stay out of there way. Err, sorry." Nick said. "Word of advice, if you want people to approach Kyrnith more often, you gotta make the Elder Beast look welcoming. Invest in paths and trails and maybe some decor even. Of course, nothing that would offend or upset Kyrnith."

"Well, I gotta go again. Say hi to Kyrnith for me." After bidding farewell to Lord Enli, Nick would exit the longhouse and start searching for the obelisk to try and contact the Sage. The 'Moonblossom' was still in his mind and he suspected he would need it but Nick decided to try and make contact anyway. What did he have to lose?

Then again, he could use his only power to find out what Moonblossom was but it wasn't night yet.

"Let's go, I bet you will feel much better after a warm bath and some food. Here, stay close to me. You're still wet and I don't want you getting sick."
Freyr

"Oh, don't worry me. I'll be fine." Haley politely declined your offer of embrace. "Besides, we'll be real close to each other later at night. Why don't you warm me up then, Freyr?" She winked seductively.

---

The trip back to the guild was uneventful. That is, until a wagon pulled up near you and Haley with a familiar driver. "Oh, bunny man of the Guild! Good to see you again!" George Costava, apparently a free man, happily greeted the two of you. "Oh man, Ambran guards are tough! They ask for big money but they reasonable in the end."

"Listen, I have bad news about Ravager's Rest. Err, more like good news if you think about it." The dealer continued. "Someone else already took care of place and volunteered to man it. A weird lady with cloak on took it down by herself, it was awesome!. You don't happen to know anyone like that, do you?" George sighed. "Anyway, we need not worry about that place anymore. Still, I might hire you for personal jobs."

"Umm, Freyr?" Haley piped in. "Who's this?"

Keeping It Real 2
~@13org (ADA), @Restalaan (DIT), @AzureKnight (NAG)~

Ditzy, with renewed vigor, charged forth. He took down the Orcs onto him, then the Minotaur after Nagare before knocking down the Ogre, therefore releasing Ada from the choking hug. Alas, Ditzy's newly-found strength was not enough. Having already suffered a strike from the Salamander's blade, he could not keep the headlock and the Ogre broke free. She retaliated by simply picking up Ditzy by the neck. Her grip was so strong that her fingers were nigh-impossible to pry off. "You're pretty strong, Hobgoblin! I'll give you that."

Ada had taken the moment to recover. No one was currently after her, but she watched Nagare pick up the Lizardman's sword and use it against its owner. Unfortunately, the Lizardman knew her blade well and easily caught the ice dragon's slash before spinning to not only take her sword back but to also ram it into Nagare. Strength began to quickly leave the ice dragon and the lizard monster pulled her blade out for a--

"Stop! STOOOOOP!" Sir Reed yelled, suddenly breaking his fight with the Salamander and raising his sword in the air. "We surrender." The warrior monsters, even the Salamander fighting him, all halted in confusion at the sudden declaration. "We surrender." Reed repeated.

"Oh?" The Ogre replied, still holding Ditzy. "Do you speak for everyone of your friends?"

"Yes." Reed nodded. "It is clear that we cannot join your mighty troupe. For your troubles, let me offer myself." He declared. "I shall be your mate. But not just any mate, a warrior mate. One that will bear you, all of you, strong children. Let me do this, and I ask that you do nothing more to my friends."

"He is a really great fighter, you know?" The Salamander mused, her tail still burning with passion. "I'd love to fight him some more."

Help, Wanted 2
~@AzureKnight (VRA)~

"So, you'll be taking option two then? Fine by me. Turn to ash, degenerate."
Vară Riemsianne

You launched your lotus-shaped fire attack at Ian. It sped towards the thief but Ian, proved quicker. He dodged to the side before moving towards you with alarming speed, unsheathing his sword as he did so. The door that lead out of the room erupted in flames from the flame attack, the fire quickly spreading throughout.

"Watch out!" Ian made a downward slash at you, but it was blocked by a dagger from Neil who had moved to protect his guildmate. "Vară!"

"Stay out of this, boy! The adults are talking!" With their weapons locked, Ian grabbed Neil's hair and pulled him to the side so hard that the latter stumbled to the floor. "Just watch the fireworks, little dude. I promise I won't hurt your girlfriend. Well, at least not too much."

"Now then, where were we?"

For The Cause

The lady knight yelled in pain when Yang broke her fingers. With her hands disabled, she offered no resistance when the monk shifted their position until Yang had her in a body hold from which she could not escape. Not with broken, stinging, fingers. Still, the knight struggled as much as she could but what remained of her body could not break free from Yang.

Seeing their leader in trouble, the Order troops attempted to come to the knight's aid. Only to be stopped by Kira who had summoned her monstrous power and became a blur of a figure, hopping from soldier to soldier, delivering wind-infused blows upon the hapless humans.

The Order opposition lost their heart at the Beelzebub's awesome power. With their leader also captured, they saw no reason to continue fighting and began to rout. They dropped their weapons and shields as they ran. Some of whom were struck in the back by thrown spears and axes by zealous rebels who wanted as much kills in the battle as possible.

The raid was successful. The only Order soldier alive and present in the caravan was the captured knight lady who was still in Yang's hold. Even with the battle over, she continued to futilely struggle, tears streaming down her face.

"What're you waiting for, ate? Finish her off." A rebel told Yang while the rest of them began to loot the caravan.

“Perhaps you should visit that obelisk outside the village at night and try praying? Its always held a strong connection to the Moon and Sea. I apologize for not being more help - Chaenelith is not known for desiring to be involved in affairs of others and was said to make efforts to prevent themselves from even being known. Forgive me for asking, but why do you want to know of them? It’s rare any will seek the Sage, let alone possess something with some connection to them.”
Lord Enli

"Wait, wait. So is the Sage's name Chaenelith or Urumna?" Nick was briefly confused at the multitude of names dropped by Enli. "And they're real friends with the Moon called Delpithi. Did I get that right?"

Then came Enli's question as to why Nick was looking for the Sage, to which the young man exhaled a sigh. "I wanted to keep this as a secret as much as possible but... Okay, notice the weird outsiders that's been coming into your village all day? Including me?" Nick gave the village leader time to think. "Yeah, they're... we're... not from this world. While I'm not a hundred percent sure about this, I'm willing to bet that all of us came from a world called 'Earth'. It's another world much different from this one but... It's a long story, okay?"

"While my fellow 'outsiders' seem to be having fun running around here, I've got a life in Earth. I wanna get back." Nick revealed his ultimate goal in this second life. "Now, Kyrnith told me that this Sage person may know a thing or two about traveling dimensions. That may be my key to getting back home. If not, well, at least it's a step on the right direction."

"No offense to your world, of course. It's pretty nice here but like they say, 'There's no place like home'." Nick finished. "So... are there any specific words or phrases I should say when I pray to the obelisk?"
Hey all! I was planning to update today but I found that the narrative would flow better if the other players posted so I'll be postponing the update again to next week so the others have time to post.

“Dunno, but he followed a hunter out...maybe he had business with them?”
Lady Mie

Nick sighed. Looks like he just missed Donovan. Should he try to find the guy? He really should but Nick had no idea who this hunter was nor an inkling on where they could've went.

“Only sage I know is one that supposedly visited Chagawa once in the past, but the Guardian Beasts wanted nothing to do with them so forbid them from entering. I’ve heard the Dwarves and Shadow Elves have some Sage they revere, though. And if you’ll excuse me, I need to start closing up shop. You wanna know more about that sage, maybe try asking Enli. I hear they’re pretty connected to the Moon Goddess.”
Lady Mie

"Alright, I think I'll do just that. Thank you very much, Lady Mie." Nick bowed before heading on his way.

With Donovan gone and his offer to team up with those girls kaput, Nick found himself on his lonesome. Which was a bit of a problem since while his fellow Earthlings had cool, awesome powers when they came to this world, Nick appeared not to get any. Should he find himself in danger, especially against a fantastic beast, Nick could do little to defend himself. With those in mind, it was probably not a good idea for Nick to keep pursuing this dangerous quest and move on. Besides, there appeared to be a lot of people already helping this village. His presence was redundant.

Although, he still should pay Enli a visit again and at the very least, tell him about Kyrnith's plan and ask the guy about the Sage and the strange, black stone that apparently belonged to him. It was his first lead to getting back home.

And so, Nick went back to Enli's longhouse. "Lord Enli? You still here?" He called out. "Uhh, did a pair of girls just come by here? They're about yay-high, wearing pretty weird clothes? Did they tell you anything about Kyrnith? Uhh, we kinda met up with the god earlier."

"I'm also here to ask you about a particular stone. I heard it belonged to someone called the Sage."
