It's incredible how if you give someone just the tiniest bit of power over others they'll turn into the most self-righteous, selfish, impatient fuckers you will ever meet.

How are some writers on this site still incapable of knowing how a comma works?! It's like the second easy piece of punctuation you learn about as a kid!!!

It'll always be confusing to me when some people regard two or three sentences in an IC post as putting in effort with the writing, yet they consider themselves at a casual/advanced level.

@BlueSky44

Still makes her a decade too old, my dude.
@Fury Panda
Cool - my co-GM will be posting your review!

@BlueSky44
Tetra Watson:

  • Your faceclaim is 34 years old - hopefully you can see the issue with that.
  • "Caucasian", not "Caucasion"
  • While her Boggart is good, the riddikulus charm isn't very funny.
  • Her appearance alludes to tomboyishness in that she doesn't keep up with trends, is athletic, and plays quidditch, but her personality doesn't seem to mention anything like that?
  • Her personality is a tad vague. "She will try to do something, and will not give up until she is either successful, or after several failed attempts." Describes most people on the planet, I would think. When speaking of determination in a character, I would expect something a bit more extreme or unusual for the description. Doing something over and over despite the fact that succeeding is impossible, for example.
  • Her backstory doesn't make a lot of sense to me. You've stated that a rift appeared between Tetra and her parents when she started showing signs of magic, but you haven't really elaborated? Why do they yell at her during these unusual occurrences? It's understandable when the Dursley's do it to Harry because they're fully aware of the magical world, and they're trying to borderline beat it out of him. Tetra's parents don't have this knowledge, so it seems odd that they'd react so aggressively to these occurrences. Also, did things get worse or better when they found out about the world of magic? Why did they let her go to Hogwarts and buy all of her school stuff for her if they were so against it? What were her brother's reactions to suddenly knowing about magic? How has she managed to fix things with her parents all of a sudden? It seems strange to me that a character who is kind, loyal, determined, studious, athletic, and attractive is mistreated by her parents for no good reason beyond "She's different".
  • While your prompt is passable in terms of spelling and grammar, you've shifted between past and present tense in one of your paragraphs. This makes things quite confusing to read, so you'll need to make sure you don't do it in your IC posts.

@ZoeMcQueen95
Katherine Mary Mullen:

  • Her picture is great, but doesn't seem to correlate with her written appearance all that much? The picture shows a girl with dark hair, dark eyes, no freckles, and she seems to be a pretty healthy weight?
  • Sassafras isn't a wood used by Ollivander, I'm afraid. If you explain she got the wand from elsewhere that's fine, but otherwise, it'll have to be changed.
  • Least favourite lesson is Charms, because she failed once and is now bitter about it. That's fine - kinda cool actually - but her personality doesn't show this bitter or grudging streak anywhere. In fact, it states that she "takes everything with a grain of salt". One would assume that would include failures and/or criticism.
  • What role does she play in Quidditch?
  • "She is the youngest of 8 siblings and never gets hand me downs." The youngest sibling usually gets hand me downs. Later in the prompt you also say "She had a duty to be the first one in her family..." So is she the youngest or the oldest?
  • I have many doubts that the wizarding world are unable to treat premature birth effectively. If they have potions that can regrow bones, I'm sure something exists to ensure a premature baby grows significantly while outside the womb to ensure survival and avoid illness. Furthermore, the wizarding world doesn't have Doctors, but Healers. I also doubt they make one pay for treatment like in America. The wizarding world is more advanced socially in many ways than the Muggle world - if the Muggles had the NHS by then, I'm certain the UK wizards also had universal healthcare.

@Aislynn
Kendall Price:

Awesome - and accepted - character! You've missed out a couple of female pronouns in the Boggart section, but if you fix them up he can be put in the character tab!

I'll apologise now if any of the reviews seem a bit short or blunt - it's not my intention and I'm in a bit of a rush posting this so I don't have time to read over everything properly. :)
@LadyRunic

Oooohh, hence my confusion. Thanks for the catch! I'll edit right away. :)
Nina van Essenhout

Location: The X-Van

Nina nodded in response to Pietro's recon report, mind working swiftly to formulate contingency plans should the human guards get in the way too much. Dealing with just the one mutant between the four of them should be child's play, especially once their resident shapeshifter discovered what his powers were. Watching as Ayita scurried away (Deciding in her mind that the girl had the right idea, and wondering perhaps that maybe they should have done all of this recon before accidentally setting the alarms off), and after a brief pause, she looked to Pietro, one eyebrow raised.

"Well? Is that it?" She asked incredulously, noticing the blank look on his face. "I asked for recon of the entire building, not the first ten feet of it. We need to know where the other mutants are - that last thing we need is one of them surprising us later." Shaking her head slightly, she glanced at Damon as he began to follow the Ayita-Mouse. They hadn't talked all that much in the van, but then again, that had been the first time they had met. "Damon - perhaps give her a bit more room. You could be drawing more attention to her by mistake." She said softly as she followed him, listening to the minuscule clicking noises of the mouse's claws on the floor. This was a big facility, and while everyone would likely be extremely paranoid at the moment, she doubted Ayita would be the only rodent in the building.

Glancing behind her as she silently unsheathed her knife, she lookedat Pietro and jerked her chin back towards the main body of the building.
"Find out where the others are, and be careful." She said quietly, hoping that this time he would actually follow her orders correctly.

Charlie Farrier

Location: The X-Van

Charlie breathed a quiet sigh of relief as Oshea shot off and Cassandra gave him a friendly smile. If Oshea got all of the guards out, he wouldn't feel nearly as bad about using his powers. They could just be innocent, regular humans, with families waiting for them at home. Setting just genocidal mutants on fire made things a lot easier without throwing civilians into the mix. Looking at the icer in Cassandra's hands, Charlie wondered why they hadn't given him a gun for a brief second. He felt somewhat naked without a visible weapon in front of him - hell, even a crowbar like from one of his video games would be better than nothing - but a gun was definitely out of the question. He had no training, and shooting bullets at people would be even harder than just freaking out and throwing fire at them.

"I'm not too... in tune with powers all that well, but I can do things beyond just setting fires. I could make a really hot, concentrated fire in one spot of a room to suck all the oxygen out, if you wanted to like, knock people or, or something? I don't know, it's stupid." He muttered quietly, not wanting to draw extra attention to Cassandra and he, but still quite unsure of himself.
@Aislynn

It's quite alright, I didn't get a rushed vibe from it! Reviews should be up at some point tomorrow. :)
Man, I really dislike condescending Roleplayers that publicly berate someone for making a mistake.

To be fair, myself and my co-gm wouldn't have been calling anyone out if misinformation had been posted on here. Person says they've been rejected from a RP because of [insert unfair and untrue reason here], which makes the GM/roleplay look kinda bad. We wouldn't have posted here to correct the misinformation otherwise.

But anyway, that's the last I'll say in here, lest I incur the wrath of being off topic! If you or anyone else has an opinion on the issue, I welcome you to yell at me via PM.

But forreal, I'm always happy to take constructive criticism on my writing or GMing, so anyone can feel free to contact me. :)

(If this bitch wasn't about me at all, then ignore all this lmao)
@World Traveler

I'll be PMing you shortly to discuss this so that the thead can get back on track. Happy bitching everyone!
@PrinceAlexus I need to see the original post to make an estimate as to 'how obvious' it is but from what I can see, you can quote GM post and 'see' the hidden portion easily.

Allow me! I am the devious, meanie GM after all!

Here it is - read the rules, find the treasure.

Oh, and for the record for everyone: World Traveler was rejected for stealing their writing from another website and passing it off as their own, as my good co-GM stated earlier. Kudos to WT for not only lying about their rejection on a public forum where myself and my co-GM could not only read it, but also prove him wrong. Takes a special kinda ridiculous to do that lmao
