@Keyblade87 This roleplay is open first and foremost to a specific gathering of players, as I've written right below the title higher up. As the Join Status up there clearly points out, this roleplay is decreed "Full" until I have evidence of the opposite. I will open it up if I find that I do, in fact, have a need of more players. Though, thanks for your interest.
@Rune_Alchemist ... Huh. I don't recognize that ability, and I've used my fair share of Raltses. *checks*
Oh, dear. Hidden abilities. Er. Okay. Never had to deal with those before, but that changes now! *researches* ... Eh, pointless unlocking methods. The ability can be rather useful. EH, YOU MAY HAVE IT. Logically, there would be no such thing as "hidden abilities" in a real Pokémon World, just kinda rarer abilities! And it seems that the key for hidden abilities is "you don't obtain them normally in your region". Well, guess what? Isson is now the region all those Pokémon with hidden abilities come from! XD
Otherwise, yupp. Feisty one. Claire is accepted~!
Accepted characters may be posted in the characters tab~
... Now, lets wait for the rest. I know at least three more that intends to join, one who's not sure, two that hasn't responded at all, and one that chose the day of my PM to not return to the Roleplayer Guild for a while. Eh. Efforts will be made.
@Lasrever Yupp. She looks good. Supremely normal and innocent, just the way one can imagine a new Pokémon Trainer. And Wooper's silly face looks as silly and happy as ever.
Abigail is accepted~
... Hm. That's a detail I might have overlooked. I haven't specified anything about HOW you all were picked to receive your Pokédexes. You say you tried and tried again to get a Pokédex and failed, but I'm not sure how you failed. As far as I can tell, Kalmia's just handing out a couple of Pokédexes to whoever she pleases, though yeah, it helps if they've distinguished themselves somehow. But, this certainly works. Luke had been picked to be given one of the Pokédexes, but there weren't more to pass around. Then Luke got sick (sick enough that he can't just wait a week or so? ... must be bad), and Kalmia remembered that girl that had made her attempts to be picked numerous times. ... And being who she is, Kalmia totally would have rejoiced at a chance to present a girl with her dream~
That said, it does make me wonder what's up with Luke. Huh. Am I in control of that, as the GM? XD
Note: Movesets used are ORAS, specifically. Omega-Ruby and Alpha-Sapphire.
This page is reserved for NPCs.
Name: Professor Kalmia Gender: Female. Appearance: Imagine her to be wearing a lab-coat when on official business. Personality: She's an active woman. In her youth, she was highly hyperactive and far more likely to make a mistake before she even realized said mistake was possible to make, and a certain amount of that girl still lives in her. But, her energy is now focused towards her love of Pokémon and research, which shine. Hometown: Pureplain City. Background: Not all that long ago, Kalmia embarked on her own Pokémon journey. She saw most of the world and learned from the best. However, although she became a pretty strong Pokémon trainer, she instead chose to focus on her Pokémon research. Coming into contact with a Pokémon professor from another region called Professor Oak, he was astounded by the diversity of Pokémon in the Isson region. Taking up his request, Kalmia agreed to help his research by spreading a number of Pokédexes with the youths of today. This will be a piece of cake for them! Kind of Pokémon you like: She likes all Pokémon! … Especially underdogs! Quirks/Talents/Aspirations/Other: While she's also taking care of the PC in Isson, Kalmia is under the impression that Pokémon should not be in the PC for too long. So, every now and then she takes out all Pokémon currently in the PC and takes a LONG WALK with them, causing minor mayhem as she comes walking with a literal horde of Pokémon. As the Pokémon in the PC grow in number, she also can't take them all at the same time, that'd be too much, so instead the horde walks happens more frequently. An encounter with Kalmia's walks is, to this date, the most exciting random events to ever occur to an average citizen living in Pureplain City.
Role so far: Kalmia’s the Pokémon professor that has given all the trainers their Pokémon. She did so by entering a deal with Professor Oak, and then sent them all on their merry way to catch the Pokémon of Isson and become Pokémon Champions. Yupp.
Name: Vivia Gender: Female. Appearance: Personality: Rather high-strung. She intends to become a Pokémon researcher, and despite her superior's obvious proof of the opposite Vivia believes she has to be absolutely perfect in every way to achieve her dream. Hence, becoming an assistant to one with a promising future obviously meant she became way better than everyone who isn't and is the same age as her. However, this did nothing to change the fact that she's a calamity of unawareness and clumsiness, which far outweigh that of her teacher's, and Vivia's aware of this and is trying to better herself before she starts to feel REALLY useless. While she was extremely confident after leaving school with top marks, having experienced her own clumsiness in the lab has shaken her, turned her a bit more shy and humble... Hometown: Pureplain City. Background: A normal young girl who was born as a completely normal girl in Pureplain City. She's been inspired by Professor Kalmia, she became determined to become a Pokémon Professor as well and gained some really impressive grades on paper-tests and has managed to secure the position as Kalmia's assistant. However, here, she has had her confidence shaken by her own clumsiness. She still tries her best, though. Kind of Pokémon you like: I-it doesn't really matter, does it!? ... She likes silly Pokémon. Quirks/Talents/Aspirations/Other: She intends to become a Pokémon Researcher, and, er, she might secretly hope to be a Pokémon Trainer, too, but she keeps those desires restrained knowing what a disaster she'd likely become. Her legs… are ridiculously strong, for some reason.
Role so far: Vivia served as Kalmia’s assistant until the day everyone got their Pokémon. Then, it was revealed Jacques had approached her behind the scenes and offered her a Pokédex and Pokémon, and as she in secret wanted to be a Pokémon Trainer too, she accepted as Kalmia wouldn’t consider her own assistant for her Pokédexes. She ended up not telling Kalmia until the day, too worried about that it would seem like a betrayal. Kalmia forgave her immediately, though gave Jacques a displeased look.
She’s battled Erika in her first battle and was eventually defeated, receiving an electric shock from Rotom for losing. Resolving to grow stronger as to avoid getting the shock of defeat from Rotom, Vivia set off on her own journey, hoping to grow as a Pokémon trainer.
She’s currently travelling with Skylar, for some reason.
Name: Rodger Gender: Male. Appearance: Personality: He's reasonably jolly, but he can be a bit of a bully. He doesn't see any reason not to look down on people weaker than him or hold back with his words. People can easily become ”not worth his time”. He's fiercely competitive and will desire to battle at any turn, and will certainly want to challenge the Pokémon League. He's also a really sore loser. However, when he recognizes an equal or a worthy rival, he has a tendency to initiate friendly rivalries, which he views as the best of friendships and he'll defend them to the end of the world against any adversary. Hometown: Bigfjord City. Background: Unknown. Kind of Pokémon you like: Strong-looking Pokémon! Quirks/Talents/Aspirations/Other: Unknown.
Role so far: He’s one of the trainers given Pokédexes from Jacques. He thanked Jacques for being given the opportunity to fight strong trainers at once.
He’s joined forces with Oaken to battle Lucian and Ren. After both sides decided to end the fight, he travelled with Lucian, wanting to learn more from the clearly more intelligent trainer.
Battled Basil after a quick call from Jacques.
Name: Joshua Gender: Male. Appearance: Personality: It is hard to tell what Joshua takes seriously. He dances around the world, digging music while seemingly barely listening to the people around him. He takes things in his own tempo, and more than willingly drags everyone else into it. He lets nothing bother him, he almost always smiles, he casually hits on girls in his immediate surroundings and calls things for ”cool”. Despite that, he's rather infuriatingly capable. Hometown: Justroad City. Background: Unknown. Kind of Pokémon you like: Cool-feeling Pokémon~ Quirks/Talents/Aspirations/Other: Unknown.
Role so far: He’s one of the trainers given Pokédexes from Jacques. He’s shown himself to be a friend of Ewan, and has been giving compliments to the girls.
He was battling Reiji until said opponent vanished into thin air with nobody noticing. He battled Amelia to a loss, but got her to blush by calling her cute first.
He and Ewan met up with Ren at the Super Contests of Pureplain City, where they saw the show together and Ren got contests explained for her. Joshua gave her a ribbon.
Later, Erika ran into them by the Wet Caverns. Together they went through the caverns, saw Dragon Roost, got to Lakewatch and will head off north later.
Name: Ellyn Gender: Female. Appearance: Personality: A seemingly apathetic young girl. She does what is told of her with minute precision, but herself she feels no real desire or pleasure from doing so. Likely not to care all that much if she wins or loses, but Ellyn has been told to become the best Pokémon Trainer she can be. So... that's what she'll do. See if she can become invested by doing so. … It should be noted, that although this was her initial state, she took her first loss rather badly, after having been riled up by one of her opponents. Did she become invested, after all? Hometown: Worldedge City. Background: Unknown. Kind of Pokémon you like: … Whatever appears, I guess... Quirks/Talents/Aspirations/Other: Unknown.
Role so far: She’s one of the trainers given Pokédexes from Jacques. She was pulled along by Maple, joining forces with her and Simon to battle Martin, Abigail and Dawkin. Contrary to her own belief, she got annoyed when the battle wasn’t going her way and was further agitated by Dawkin suggesting her surrender. Upon her loss, she found herself with an annoying emotion she hadn’t previously experienced. Maple adopted her, and they’re currently traveling together.
Name: Ewan Gender: Male. Appearance: Personality: Mildly stoic, but still a knight with honour at his heart. He values proficiency yet also fairness, and seeks to waste as little as possible. He constantly worries about his own performance. Which is silly, because his performance is almost always top-notch. He has a considerable lack of self-value, and will fairly easily abandon his own rights. He does his best to maintain his own form as well. When it comes to Pokémon he’s enthusiastic, but it’s hidden beneath his stoic and worrying attitude. Hometown: Justroad City. Background: Unknown. Kind of Pokémon you like: None in particular. A good variety should do. Quirks/Talents/Aspirations/Other: Unknown.
Role so far: He’s one of the trainers given Pokédexes from Jacques. He’s shown to be a friend of Joshua, at least for the sake that they appear to be conversing with one another.
He battled Claire for their first battle, and using some rodeo tactics Ralia beat Sven. He congratulated her victory, and then moved on to travel with Joshua.
He and Joshua met up with Ren at the Super Contests of Pureplain City, where they saw the show together and Ren got contests explained for her.
Later, Erika ran into them by the Wet Caverns. Together they went through the caverns, saw Dragon Roost, got to Lakewatch and will head off north later.
Name: Simon Gender: Male. Appearance: Personality: A young boy who was raised under the impression that he's always to be the best. And that has stayed for all time. He makes ridiculous proclamations that everybody ignores, because even if they corrected him and even if they proved him wrong, Simon would still stay the same. Good thing is, he feels no fear. Any setbacks he meets is immediately dismissed, for he will eventually overcome all challenges. He never backs down from a challenge, no matter how tough, for the best would be able to handle it, no matter how bad the odds. … It is a good thing he’s not living in a naturally lethal world. Hometown: Rainrock City. Background: Unknown. Kind of Pokémon you like: The best! The best like me! Quirks/Talents/Aspirations/Other: Unknown. Well, except for becoming the very best, like no-one ever was.
Role so far: He’s one of the trainers given Pokédexes from Jacques. Kalmia made a noise to Jacques about "You got Simon!?", implying he's someone of note.
As he announced his intention to be the best, Martin challenged him. Joining forces with Maple and Ellyn, Simon took on Martin, Abigail and Ellyn. However, it turned out that he had asked Jacques for “the greatest challenge”, so he was given a Hoppip, which knows no attack moves.
It resulted in Simon’s loss, despite his best efforts to tank damage. While dismayed, Simon quickly recovered and ran off, intent on proving he’d become the very best.
Name: Cathia Gender: Female. Appearance: Personality: Cathia is a normal girl, whatever she would like you to believe. She maintains an aura of top gracefulness and wonderful calm, but that isn't what she actually is. She's a normal, slightly shy girl who disguises her shyness under what appears to be an aura of superiority. However, it could fade away eventually when you get to know her, and then you might learn how fierce she can be below. She’s enduring a considerable pressure, a pressure which she’s not comfortable sharing the nature of to anyone. Hometown: Pureplain City. Background: Unknown. Kind of Pokémon you like: Beautiful and graceful ones, which might support my own image… Quirks/Talents/Aspirations/Other: Unknown.
Role so far: She’s one of the trainers given Pokédexes from Jacques. Saying that she absolutely cannot lose, she battled Donna and emerged victoriously, much to her own relief. She was intercepted by Jacques before she could leave, speaking out of earshot of the others.
She later engaged Dawkin and Martin as they attempted to leave the Wet Caverns, confident in her training.
Name: Maple Gender: Female. Appearance: Personality: Social butterfly. She talks so happily with anyone she meets about anything and she wants to be your friend. She tries her best at whatever is put in front of her, and often setbacks don’t have too much of an impact on her as she’s already at it again. She has an incredibly flighty interest which keeps her leaping from area to area. The only interest that has been consistent throughout her life is that for being a Pokémon master. Hometown: Witchpeak City. Background: Unknown. Kind of Pokémon you like: Oh! Cute ones! … And handsome ones! Quirks/Talents/Aspirations/Other: Unknown.
Role so far: She’s one of the trainers given Pokédexes from Jacques. For no discernable reason, she was pulled along with Ellyn into battle alongside Simon against Martin, Abigail and Dawkin. Upon losing, she was the only one to praise their opponents. She took it fairly well, and noticed that Ellyn was taking it badly despite what she had said before the battle. She took it on herself to help the girl, and the two are now traveling together.
Someone apparently completely burned up the opposition at the Pokémon School and became their Champion with the title of “The Scorcher” with an impressive array of fire-Pokémon. Said person’s name was “Maple”, so… Fairly reasonable to assume it may have been her.
Name: Oaken Gender: Male. Appearance: Personality: Oaken commonly frowns his way through a problem. Used to thoroughly analysing everything that is in front of him and knowing all, he can become a bit self-confident when he thinks he has all the variables down. But sometimes he gets lost in his own thinking and ends up confusing himself. He’s aware he cannot think as fast as he wants to and is slightly bad at adapting, but give him time to focus on a problem and he will return with the perfect answer. He takes little pleasure from victory but gets highly annoyed at losses. Overall, he refuses to ever come into a battle unprepared, and he aims to be the perfect trainer. Hometown: Redcoast City. Background: Unknown. Kind of Pokémon you like: Those that fit my team and that are more functional than those I have now. Quirks/Talents/Aspirations/Other: Unknown.
Role so far: He’s one of the trainers given Pokédexes from Jacques. He was one of the candidates to be given one by Professor Kalmia, but she opted him out for the current cast. Bearing a bit of a grudge to that, Oaken intends to prove Kalmia made a mistake.
He joined forces with Rodger to do battle with Lucian and Ren. After the battle was left unresolved, he left and Rodger tagged along, hoping to learn from him.
He was present when Azelf gave a few trainers the quest™.
Name: Chloe Gender: Female. Appearance: Personality: A happy, playful, bright and energetic girl who marches to the beat of her own drum. She’s laid-back and easy-going, quick to accept new and mysterious things with an excited look on her face and also friendly and warm to more or less everyone she meets. She’s a great fan of fashion and style, as well as of Pokémon and Pokémon battles, they’re just such a thrill! She’s also more or less used to being on a road, except, maybe not on a road and completely broke, perhaps. Hometown: None. Her parents were constant travellers. Background: Unknown. Kind of Pokémon you like: Anything fluffy, cute, small, warm and/or soft~! Quirks/Talents/Aspirations/Other: A bit of a fashion-nut, Chloe has to go visit the cloth-stores of every single town she visits to get a local taste. Being a traveller with no real hometown, she’s used to adopting whatever style is usually in use wherever she’s arrived to. That said, she might not be entirely used to not having the money for these sorts of things. Still, due to her personality, it’s not like she’d ever despair about that sort of thing.
Role so far: Was battled by Cyril after being brought by Jacques to Kalmia’s lab. She’s now travelling with him.
Name: Jacques Gender: Male. Appearance: Role So Far: Personality: Extremely confident and maybe somewhat narcissistic, Jacques commonly has a sinister aura around him which gives an aura of that he will always believe himself to be in control. It is how he wants to look, and as such he doesn’t hold back. Those defeated by him often return with stories of how he completely humiliated and made fun of them on the stage of battle. However, maybe surprisingly to those who came to view him as some form of self-absorbed Pokémon-villain, he shows absolute care for the health of Pokémon and will strictly but firmly correct and help someone who’s doing wrong or badly in front of him. It's a natural impulse, he just feels he has to do something about someone looking pathetic in front of him if he can do something about it. It isn't rare to hear of an unexpected act of kindness on his part. This, in combination with his strength and title, has made him well-liked by many trainers of the Pokémon League. Hometown: ??? Background: Currently unknown to the players. However, he's a confident, trusted and unshakably placed member of the Elite Four, whom trainers everywhere fear and respect as well as hope to one day overcome. And Jacques highly approves of this status which he has managed to attain... Kind of Pokémon you like: Fu-fu-fu-fu… You'd like to know, wouldn't you? Quirks/Talents/Aspirations/Other: He doesn't really like to be holed up in the Pokémon League all day, so he tends to travel across the region, seeking interesting sights. This includes all from seeing new trainers embark to seeing interesting Gym Leader fights, and he has many contacts which may inform him of incoming watch-worthy events. When the Pokémon League has need of him, they first need to convince him to come back, as he's likely interested in something else at the moment and would rather not return...
Role so far: The Elite Four member arrived at Kalmia’s lab at the same time as the trainers. Just as Kalmia gathered a group of trainers to give Pokédexes, so did Jacques. He claims he had no idea Kalmia was doing the same when he made the deal with Professor Sycamore. He suggested a friendly battle, and so it was.
He also showed off his Rhyperior for a bit at Dawkin’s request, and the silly giant rock-creature got to try to comfort Flame the Vulpix after having scared her. However, Dawkin’s original request was to see Jacques’ starter Pokémon, a request that stopped Jacques short as he appeared to remember a troubling memory as he said that was not possible, before going to the next best thing and showing his Rhyperior.
Name: Lorette Gender: Female Appearance: Personality: While a sensible individual within, she likes to appear as a playful little girl with a sneaky little smile on her face. She likes to strike people older than herself as creepy before she shows just exactly why she’s the Gym Leader. Deep down, she’s fairly insecure, however, and constantly wonder if things are really going to go as she hopes they will and nobody will accuse her of not being good enough. But, as far as she can, she smiles, gives as wise advice as she can as she drifts along, and she REALLY enjoys being the first opponent of young kids making their way from Pureplain City to Highhill Town. She has many friends in Highhill, she’s dutiful, and overall a pretty sweet girl. Hometown: Highhill Town Background: The daughter of the previous Gym Leader of Highhill Town, who was a Bug-type Major League Gym Leader. As tradition would have it, the Gym Leader of Highhill Town is also the Shrine Maiden of the Silent Shrine. Lorette had very early shown an interest in her mother’s occupation, and as such was taught by her mother both the arts of the Shrine Maiden and of the Pokémon Trainer. However, during the Team Wars a couple of years ago, her mother relinquished her title as Gym Leader and went away for a couple of years for an important mission. In her place, Lorette took the title of Gym Leader despite her young age, and has been holding it admirably since. Kind of Pokémon you like: Oh! I like cute fairies! … But of course, the Bug-type Pokémon my mother left me to raise has a very special place in my heart! Quirks/Talents/Aspirations/Other: She’s very well known to enjoy taking long, long walks in Silent Forest and promptly getting herself lost, sometimes for days at a time. This is sometimes an issue because it holds up people who’d like to battle her for her badge, but she enjoys making them seek her out. Eventually, the fairy-Pokémon of Silent Forest guide her back, knowing her well enough to know to do that. She really actually wants to be a Fairy-type Gym Leader, but she very much looks up to Jeanette, the current Fairy-type Gym Leader, and so settled for simply becoming the Bug-type Gym Leader in her mother’s place.
Role so far: Amelia found her at Deepforest Shrine talking to a flash of green that swiftly disappeared, and then had a conversation about Lorette’s past and her wanting to be a Fairy-type Gym Leader. Because of being similar in age, Lorette was more open than she’d usually be. She also told how her Larvesta was the child of her mother’s Volcarona. She then stood ready to defend during Team Virtue Grunts Mark and Randy’s visit.
Name: Archie Gender: Male Appearance: Personality: An easy-going child who doesn’t fully understand the consequences of everything he does. He doesn’t entirely understand when people doesn’t see things his way, or when they don’t act like his prejudices would imply. But, he’s learning, and he knows he’s learning. His butler, Ramsey, constantly looks after him and ensures he stays relatively on the right path, and Archie constantly means well, at the very least. Still, nothing is quite as exciting as a good battle~! Hometown: Stillwood Village Background: Long, Stillwood Village didn’t have any skilled enough trainers to represent them as Gym Leader. However, then Archie was born with the unnatural ability to find his way in the Endless Forest, and in there he walked. Out, he walked with several distinguished grass-type Pokémon he came upon, and he started using them for Pokémon battles. The public was astounded, and someone suggested that he be their new Gym Leader. Archie didn’t really get it, but guided by his butler Ramsey Archie accepted the duties of a Gym Leader and takes on many a challenger, becoming the pride of Stillwood. Kind of Pokémon you like: Aaah, I like grass-types! They’re nice, and they remind me a lot of home! The others told me to focus on them, so I am~! Quirks/Talents/Aspirations/Other: Archie likes to dance around on top of the trees of Stillwood Forest. A normal person might risk accidentally falling, but he seems to do it as easy as playing on a floor. Archie also for some reason seems able to travel Endless Forest normally, which is something nobody else has been able to claim. Wonder why?
Role so far: Claire challenged him for a battle. It got really close, Claire overcoming numerous of Archie’s challenges, but eventually his last Pokémon, Bellawesome, turned out too much for her.
Name: Hector Gender: Male Appearance: Personality: Hector’s an extremely competitive person who regularly wrestles with Pokémon way out of his league because HE CAN! He seeks blood-pumping, high-pressure battles and greatly laments the fact he’s merely a Minor League Gym Leader so that he cannot go all out on his challengers. Good thing for the building, really. He has a habit of making up things on the fly, and he’s really skilled at training his Pokémon (or disciples) to share his mindset on things, quickly flaring into prepared position and getting ready for battle. He’s a social person with a huge group of companions, constantly seeking to get stronger and overcome the greatest of obstacles! Current objective: BECOME A MAJOR LEAGUE GYM LEADER! Hometown: Redcoast City Background: Unknown to the players for now, but at the very least, he’s a respected man in the upper circles of the Pokémon League that has more or less been restricted to the lower sections as a Gym Leader in order to hopefully improve his maturity before he’s regarded as ready to take on the reins as a Major League Gym Leader. He currently runs his Gym both as a Pokémon Gym and as a regular gym where people can come and train, and he’s taking numerous disciples that he trains using his fairly excessive methods. Kind of Pokémon you like: The pure and unaltered power of the Fighting-Type…! Oh, but for my competitive team, any that holds an aura of power will have my respect! Quirks/Talents/Aspirations/Other: So his Gym isn’t actually a Gym and the high-powered battles taking place within commonly damages the building beyond repair and he pays for the repairs anyways. That’s where the majority of the Gym’s budget goes, repairing the building. Nobody ventures anywhere but the first floor anymore, it’s simply too dangerous… Aspires to become a Major League Gym Leader, and have AWESOME HIGH-PRESSURE BATTLES with all his challengers…!
Sooo, so far he’s simply been using the Pokémon of his Gym Trainers, because his own would be too powerful for a Minor League battle…! But, so far it’s been… Timburr, ♂ Lucario, ♂ Conkeldurr, ♂
Role so far: He was wrestling a Machoke when Claire came in and challenged him to a Gym Fight. Her challenge was to overcome three Pokémon with growing strength. She emerged victorious.
Name: Kristy Gender: Female Appearance: Personality: Flighty and whimsical, Kristy easily goes with what first comes to her mind and does what she feels like. Not one to bow down to authority easily, she takes command of a situation and leads it with a wide smile. She has a natural way of people and isn’t easily perturbed, and she loves digging about in the Desert Mines and spreading happiness as well as encouragement to other miners, meaning she’s very well liked among the miners of Raremine, to the point she acts as their representative. Enjoying the power, Kristy’s happy to use her title and admiration as excuses to let her do as she likes. She is fundamentally a good person, though. She just gets a little excited at times. Hometown: Raremine Town Background: The daughter of a miner without a wife, Kristy was with them in the Desert Mines from a young age and helped them with minor tasks from the moment she had the strength to carry things. Finding that she was more useful commanding Pokémon to help the miners, the young girl took to becoming a Pokémon Trainer that used her ground-type Pokémon to help the miners dig. From there, she grew strong, and became famous among Raremine Miners. At some point, she discovered battling and the fact towns have Gym Leaders, and it occurred to her that she could try that out. Turns out, she was really good! Becoming powerful, she was hailed by the people of Raremine as their princess, and the Pokémon League saw her suitable to grant permission to become a Gym Leader, the young trainer named the “Desert Princess” for her appearance. … That was 10 or so years ago, Kristy is now an adult. Still, she retains the title and still looks after Raremine Town just as she did~ Kind of Pokémon you like: I’ve always been surrounded by Ground-type Pokémon, so having them around just feels natural. Still. Doll-like Pokémon~! Quirks/Talents/Aspirations/Other: Kristy likes dolls, always has since a young age. Especially if she can mold them out of clay and shape them as she wishes, and from that she can create some lovely things. This was perhaps partly what made her grow a kinship with her strongest Pokémon, a Claydol. There are also a lot of Baltoys in her workshop…
Role so far: Attacked a convoy with Ancient Pokémon before Dawkin and Amelia’s eyes due to suspecting them of being sold to Team Amethyst.
Name: Sylvia Gender: Female Appearance: Personality: Hometown: Goldshore Town Background: Kind of Pokémon you like: Poison-types are often seen with disdain, but I've always had an affinity for them. Quirks/Talents/Aspirations/Other:
Seviper, Toxicroak
Role so far:
Name: Dorian Gender: Male Appearance: Personality: An older man whose years alive have made him wise. He enjoys the calmer practices in life and can always delight in some peace and quiet. Yet, at the same time, his utter passion in life is and has always been Pokémon battling, something which he has made into an artform of itself. He pursues the idea of perfection, knowing it can never be achieved, and he expects any challengers to have ideals of their own in mind. There is nothing which pleases him more than a good battle with a worthy challenger. Hometown: Pureplain City Background: While his greater past is currently unknown, he’s a famed old trainer who’s been a Gym Leader for over 30 years. He hails from Pureplain City and has maintained a really impressive reputation in the Pokémon World. Someone seeking to become the Pokémon Champion must overcome him sooner or later. Kind of Pokémon you like: The Normal type has attracted me, due to its potential for perfection. But otherwise, any Pokémon willing to let itself be molded by my hand. Quirks/Talents/Aspirations/Other: He’s rather talented in a variety of different art-forms, including the creation of vases, the blowing of glass, the weaving of tapestries, the painting of paintings, the cooking of food and multiple such things that he at one time or another had a passing fancy for. Currently, he’s back doing vases. But his go-to art will always be Pokémon battling.
Role so far: Amelia came in and spoke to him. They had a discussion about his ideals, and in the end Dorian had a positive impression of her as she left.
Name: Lesley Gender: Female Appearance: (ignore the ears) Personality: Lesley’s a friendly, well-liked individual that often appears very easy to see eye-to-eye with. She’s cheerful, and very quick to take a liking to people for a variety of different reason. Of course, she can go on and on about dragons to the end of time, for she shares a very close connection to them, but otherwise, she’s pretty decent a person. Buuut, she has a certain berserk button, if someone mentions catching dragons around her… Hometown: Lakewatch Town Background: Unknown to the players for now, but she’s very highly regarded around Lakewatch Town, not only as their famed Gym Leader but also as the leader of the Lakewatchers, their own little unit which patrols the Dragon Lake and gives tours to tourists and so. Kind of Pokémon you like: Dragons. It’s gotta be dragons. They’re my own little sweethearts. Teh-heh. Quirks/Talents/Aspirations/Other: How many people do you know that wears armor constantly? Yeah, thought so. But, if you ask, she’ll tell you that she’s dealing with young dragons every day, and they can get rowdy~! She sometimes tend to vanish for slightly extended amounts of time. Wonder where she’s going off to? Hm.
Role so far: Erika ran into her at Dragon Roost, place where Dragons could live now that Dragon Lake was more dangerous. She helped her obtain Gible, or more like, let her attempt (and succeed) on a condition.
Name: Yvonne Gender: Female Appearance: Personality: Yvonne faces the world with confidence, knowing that now that she has finally gotten out into the world, there can be nothing but greatness awaiting her! Now, that she has finally gotten away, she’s free to use all the means at her disposal and make the world bow to her! It doesn’t stand a chance! Hahahahahahahahaha…! … So, maybe Yvonne’s a little arrogant, but she’s aware of it. She WANTS to be arrogant, and have the skills to back it up. That would be the best kind of experience, to feel superior and actually be it. So, she acts like the former and does her best to achieve the latter, facing whatever mishaps she might run into on the way as best (poorly) she can…! Hometown: Justroad City Background: Currently unknown to the players. But, she’s an aspiring coordinator from Justroad City who intends on conquering the world and making all bow to her! She’s also, quite evident by looking at her attitude, part of a richer upbringing. Maybe. Kind of Pokémon you like: Glorious, wondrous Pokémon that make me stand out just by owning them! Quirks/Talents/Aspirations/Other: Well. She does have a talent for getting herself into more trouble and embarrassing situations that she need to be rescued out of than she probably deserves to. She has a very peculiar relationship with her mother.
Role so far: She was rescued from Infested Woods by Laurinda after she had been dropped off there by Ellias and his Pigeots, apparently, after he had promised her a sight that would take her breath away. Huh. She then ran into Claire, and the two bonded as rivals as they both aimed to become Pokémon Trainers and Coordinators. Though, Ralia felt a reaction of fear and admiration directed towards an unknown when the prospect of becoming “the best” was raised.
She then requested to be flown to Redcoast City instead of home to Justroad when Laurinda called a Freecape Ferryman to get her home, and Claire got a ride. There, Yvonne somehow obtained the Redcoast Challenge Badge before hitting the Contests, causing Claire to also challenge the Gym.
Name: Alberto Gender: Male Appearance: - The guy Personality: Alberto's a reasonable, humble individual who's a bit amazed at how much he's being hyped up, not entirely sure if he deserves it. He does his best not to elevate himself too high, albeit Lucia tries the opposite. He's highly passionate about Pokémon, particularly Pokémon that prove themselves to have one of the five contest traits, and easily ends up marveling at them. Hometown: Unknown Background: Unknown, but he knows Yvonne. He and Lucia are the newest stars of Dreamer Studios that are being hyped up as being really good. Kind of Pokémon you like: I really like all categories. Pokémon that amaze me and take my breath away, especially! That provide me with a sight I've never seen before...! Quirks/Talents/Aspirations/Other: He has this odd thing that he has a difficult time finding people. If someone walks up to him, he might not even realize until they start speaking to him. If someone flees from him, he might completely lose track of where they went before what people would consider reasonable. Yet, at times, he shows off remarkable ability to recognize people over great distances, if he just focuses, especially if it's someone he knows well.

Role so far: Met Claire and Yvonne by the Redcoast Contest Hall. He got to marvel at Ralia for a bit.
Name: Lucia Gender: Female Appearance: - The girl Personality: Lucia's extremely caring, diligent, gentle and polite... as long as you're Alberto. To anyone and everyone else, she wastes no time elevating the position of herself and Alberto while at very least inwardly lowering everyone else beneath. It's natural, after all. Everyone else hasn't gone through all of- Hometown: Unknown Background: Unknown Kind of Pokémon you like: Those who are willing to fight to become stars for us. Quirks/Talents/Aspirations/Other: Unknown

Role so far: She and Alberto showed up and introduced themselves to Claire. They already knew Yvonne from before. Lucia gave hostile glares at both Claire and Yvonne.
Name: Penelope Gender: Female Appearance: Personality: Very energetic and cutesy. If it’s real or an act? Who knows with these coordinators. Hometown: Currently unknown. Background: A rising star of considerable popularity in the Coordinator community. She has successfully cleared all five categories on Normal Rank and three out of five on Super Rank. She’s attempting to achieve All-Star rank with her Purrloin, Purrqyute. However, experts (Joshua) reason she’s going to struggle with Tough and Cool, especially past Super Rank. Kind of Pokémon you like: Players do not know her well enough to give an estimate. Quirks/Talents/Aspirations/Other: Who knows?
Role so far: Ren saw her win the Super Cute Contests, and heard of how she was seeking to make her Purrqyute the All-Star, master of all categories. Experts (Joshua) says she’ll struggle, though. She also appeared at the Pokémon School, flooring most the other students and causing a Purrloin craze. Last known trying to negotiate an Amaura from Daisy.

Clever King, Roderick - Has only been mentioned. Apparently hard to market.
Name: Roderick Gender: Male Appearance: Personality: Fully believes himself to be a paragon of justice. Roderick believes that the safety of man is always the top priority, and that the natural behavior of Pokémon should be subdued and perhaps eliminated if they cause danger to humans. Of course, Team Amethyst has long been his target because of their general lack of empathy for people and Pokémon both, but he now turns his attention to bigger threats. Legendary threats. Hometown: Unknown. Background: Unknown. Kind of Pokémon you like: Unknown. Quirks/Talents/Aspirations/Other: Unknown to the players right now.
Role so far: Attempted to seal in Darkrai when Angelique set him free within the Old Tombs, using Cresselia. The situation was diffused by Amelia, Dawkin and Joshua.
Name: Ivory Gender: Female Appearance: Personality: Extremely controlled, prone to give smiles that skirt the line of being kind or being condescending. Team Virtue members actively fear her and whenever they hear she's coming they tend to try to make everything as perfect as possible before her arrival. Hometown: Unknown. Background: Unknown. Kind of Pokémon you like: Unknown. Quirks/Talents/Aspirations/Other: Unknown to the players right now.
Role so far: Encountered Martin in the depths of Vast Underground, escorting a cart in casual clothes, but he recognized her. Without sharing her name, she teleported him to Worldedge City, the last place where her Xatu had set his teleport-spot.
Name: Oscar Gender: Male Appearance: Personality: A devout follower of Roderick, he follows the man with an almost religious air, unquestioning and loyal. He’s the first to preach about Team Virtue’s justice, and a competent public speaker that has brought many of the general public to Team Virtue’s side. A user of flowery language and a constantly dazed look in his eyes, does he even know what he’s doing…? Hometown: Unknown. Background: Unknown. Kind of Pokémon you like: Unknown. Quirks/Talents/Aspirations/Other: He is a self-proclaimed historian that writes down events and has his Smeargle draw paintings for his publications, which he scatters to further spread Team Virtue’s beliefs across Isson. He wants to be present for as many epic events as he can…!
Name: Jonas Gender: Male Appearance: Personality: The kind of guy that would mobilize the whole of West Team Virtue Base for the sake of the safety of a single young girl. When he speaks, he speaks of the ideals of good, and for the safety of all without consideration to his own safety. Probably the kind that has made many in the west have a rather positive impression of Team Virtue. Problem is, he misunderstands things and jumps to conclusions WAY too easily, and often gets into problems or mobilize troops for what later turned out to be no reason. He pulls the trigger way too fast, because he’s always in a hurry to help. That is, at the very least, who he appears to be on the outside for the average person. Hometown: Unknown Background: Unknown, but he’s a Team Virtue Elite. This means he’s at the step in-between a Grunt and an Admin, where he has some authority but still has to follow the commands of the Admins. Kind of Pokémon you like: If there’s any Pokémon everyone else dislikes, I’ll be sure to pick it up! Quirks/Talents/Aspirations/Other: Unknown to the players right now.
Role so far: First appeared misunderstanding a scene where he believed Drifloon was going to make Amelia disappear due to the stories of Drifloons taking children to the underworld for holding them. He proceeded to attempt to attack the Drifloon, but ended in a battle with Amelia. Realizing Jonas was, well, Elite, Amelia ran and managed to escape. This caused Jonas to mobilize the whole west base to scour the Silent Forest for her.
After Mark and Randy found her alive and well without any Drifloon, he reported over the phone that he was happy she was alright and called his Grunts back.
Name: Anton Gender: Male Appearance: Personality: The kind that loudly declares that he’s now the one in charge here. With an intimidating polearm, he weaves control through the Team Virtue lines, keeping them in check and making them work full-time. Constantly frowning and often shouting, Anton makes sure the grunts never have a calm moment, demanding efficiency. He doesn’t care as much about the ideals of Team Virtue and sees the most important thing to do a good job, as well as demand the same from everyone around him, or so help him. Hometown: Unknown. Background: Unknown, but he’s a Team Virtue Elite. This means he’s at the step in-between a Grunt and an Admin, where he has some authority but still has to follow the commands of the Admins. Kind of Pokémon you like: Strong ones, that can take out the enemy quickly and efficiently! Quirks/Talents/Aspirations/Other: Unknown to the players right now.
Role so far: Martin ran into him commanding a convoy in the Vast Underground. Martin was mistaken for a grunt and made to push carts.
Name: Anabelle Gender: Female Appearance: Personality: A girl who values keeping a cool head on her shoulders and dutifully accomplish the mission at hand. She follows everything by the book, and also goes out of her way to be nice to everyone she meets. It should be noted, however, that she isn’t very fast on her feet and an unexpected situation often leaves her dumbfounded, in which case Karl likely has already charged ahead and she has to follow. Hometown: Unknown Background: A Team Virtue Grunt partnering up with Karl. That’s as much as the players know right now. Kind of Pokémon you like: Controversial Pokémon. To take the enemy off-guard. Quirks/Talents/Aspirations/Other: Typically carries around a ridiculous amount of healing items on her person.
Role so far: She and Karl appeared at Wet Caverns looking for and hunting down Allan and Mia of Amethyst after they appeared behind Dawkin. Managed to capture Mia’s Ducklett, which they were then attacked for by Martin and Lucian, Dawkin standing behind. Somehow, Karl figured them to be Amethyst spies, but Anabelle tried stopping him and they both stumbled into water. Ducklett escaped, and the two were left behind.
Name: Karl Gender: Male Appearance: Personality: A brooding young man who very rarely can be seen without his frown. If it’s official business, he prefers to leave it to Anabelle. However, when the enemy is sighted and his hand is pulled, he lashes out with an unprecedented vigour that can easily overwhelm enemies. He isn’t afraid to get physical, either. Something drives him, and it’s keeping him on edge, until it is time to let out his anger. Hometown: Unknown Background: A Team Virtue Grunt partnering up with Anabelle. That’s as much as the players know right now. Kind of Pokémon you like: These… will do. Quirks/Talents/Aspirations/Other: Unknown.
Mark & Randy - Two Virtue Grunts that went and visited the Deepforest Shrine to hunt down Amelia, and was about to attempt bringing her in by force. Dunno, might just use these two at any time random Virtue grunts are needed, for fun. Heh. Has a Gastly and a Mareep, each.
Name: ??? Gender: Male Appearance: Personality: Confident. Curious. Positively glowing in giddy malice. He has a mission and he enjoys seeing it to the end, no matter who’s plans he may ruin in his way. He feels a rivalry with the people of Team Virtue, seeing them as opposing businessmen made out of the same cloth rather than as an opposing force of good against evil like many in Virtue feels. Whatever his real motive is, he clearly enjoys the missions he’s been put on, and is always up for a little game, throwing a few wrenches and experimenting with what he can get away with. Regardless, a dangerous man to come across. Hometown: Unknown. Background: Unknown. Given his speech and mannerism it’s clear he is of noble birth, but other than that, he reveals no secrets. He has appeared as an enforcer of Team Amethyst, never interacting with any agents, always on his own. His missions are aside the primary, for only he has the power to achieve whatever tasks he’s given. Whatever task he’s currently on, he seems to be looking for specific Legendary Pokémon. Whatever his goal is and whoever he really is, you are not ready to face him. Kind of Pokémon you like: Unknown. Quirks/Talents/Aspirations/Other: The GM has to google for British slang each time he appears on-screen.
Role so far: Dawkin has run across him twice. Once when he opted not to capture Darkrai right before his eyes at Old Tombs, and then once again at Mythic Oasis where he DID capture Cresselia right before his eyes. The man recognized Dawkin the first time. Fortunately, he didn’t do anything terrible.
Name: Isabella Gender: Female Appearance: Personality: A cold, beautiful mistress over the unworthy grunts of Team Amethyst, she is simultaneously adored and feared. Either way, she commands respect wherever she goes. Hometown: Unknown. Background: A high-ranking member of Team Amethyst, Kind of Pokémon you like: I might have a slight... fascination with a certain subject... It's blood. She likes Pokémon associated with blood. Quirks/Talents/Aspirations/Other:
Role so far: She gave Allan and Mia a mission to deliver the cells of the life-giving Pokémon, but it got stolen by Dawkin. She then scared Cathia away and "recruited" Claire to Amethyst, giving her info to Onyx in Bigfjord City.
Name: Allan Gender: Male Appearance: The guy. Personality: A calm, snarky and somewhat passively aggressive young man who’s highly pragmatic about the means with which he achieves his goals. While efficient, he’s not very ambitious and rarely comes up with his own plans, leading to that he’s often being led around by Mia and have to accomplish her plans for her. That said, his level of natural authority is pretty high, and he has a tendency to play around a bit with possibilities of things right in front of him. Otherwise, he’s lazy. He’s doing this for a quick buck. No grand purpose in it all. But, the adventuring is somewhat exciting sometimes. Sometimes. Hometown: Unknown. Background: A member of Team Amethyst, travelling the world with Mia. More is not known by the players at this time. Kind of Pokémon you like: Those that serve my purpose. Some coolness and dependability doesn’t hurt. Quirks/Talents/Aspirations/Other: Has broken quite a few hearts back home… Mia doesn’t seem to have any interest in him like that, though. Hm. Oh, well.
Role so far: The two were overheard by Dawkin about their plans to poach dragons in Wet Caverns. They hunted him into a dead end, where Allan offered him a job at Team Amethyst. Dawkin declined and fled with an Escape Rope before having his pursuers be chased off by Karl and Anabelle of Team Virtue.
Later, they were found arguing and panting in front of Wet Caverns by Lucian. He was told Karl and Anabelle stole Mia’s Ducklett, and Lucian was going to be on a lookout for it. In the battle against Karl and Anabelle later, it was heard that apparently Ducklett had been used as bait for Allan and Mia’s escape.
Lucian recollected Ducklett and started guiding him back to Mia at Route 5.
Name: Mia Gender: Female Appearance: The girl. Personality: Somewhat fierce and ambitious, willing to take steps to achieve her goals. Has a tendency to run her mouth when excited, and she’s fairly easy to get riled up. Yet, she’s determined to maintain the sophistication of Team Amethyst through her clothing, which definitely carries a certain style and she spends quite a few hours ensuring her hair is absolutely perfect. She knows she’s at the bottom of the ladder, but she’s determined to climb it. She’s a slight perfectionist, and get very annoyed at people meddling. Hometown: Unknown. Background: A member of Team Amethyst, travelling the world with Allan. More is not known by the players at this time. Kind of Pokémon you like: The cute, yet deadly! Like me! … I’m like that, right? Quirks/Talents/Aspirations/Other: Often needs to be reigned in by her partner because she speaks too loudly about secret matters in places she can be overheard, typically by having a cigarette thrust into her mouth. She does not appreciate this.

”Travellers” are simply NPCs that aren’t coordinators or rivals but still aren’t really bound to one location and can show up wherever.
Name: The, uh, Gym Guy? Gender: Male Appearance: Personality: A friendly enough, approachable guy who helps out trainers on their journeys, talking to them before they enter a Gym and explaining things about the Gym. And he’s always there. At every Gym. Almost always. … … … … Hometown: Unknown. He’s everywhere. Background: Unknown. He’s the Gym Guy. His job is to appear in front of Gyms and tell trainers about them and the types they’ll face within, and he’s almost always on time. Kind of Pokémon you like: Unknown. … Quirks/Talents/Aspirations/Other: Unknown.
None yet.
Role so far: He’s been appearing next to Gyms, telling people about them. Yeah.
Name: Angelique Gender: Female Appearance: Personality: Silent. Frightening. She walks with no regard to anyone around her, and her eyes seem to care about nobody. Her mere presence sends chills down spines, and she’s feared by many. When she does speak, it hardly ever makes sense, yet know that her words are always being spoken with a purpose. What that purpose is, however, is anyone’s guess. Hometown: Unknown to the players. Background: Unknown to the players. Kind of Pokémon you like: … (She has surrounded herself with ghosts, so assumingly she has a preference for them.) Quirks/Talents/Aspirations/Other:
Role so far: Angelique appeared in Raremine Town when Amelia and Dawkin were visiting. They would potentially have been in deep trouble had not Joshua appeared and saved them. After a brief conflict and dropping some cryptic words, Angelique left the town.
Name: Zachery Gender: Male Appearance: Personality: Hometown: Bigfjord City Background: Kind of Pokémon you like: Those carrying with them might of the seas! Quirks/Talents/Aspirations/Other: He aspires to be the Pokémon League Champion! He was almost there, too! Other than that, he wanted to make Isson a place where ALL Pokémon could be found! But, like, that’s perhaps not a good idea. Maybe.
Name: Elma and Mila. Gender: Female Appearance: Personality: Hometown: Zachery picked them up somewhere… Background: Kind of Pokémon you like: Tough fighters! With some charm~! Quirks/Talents/Aspirations/Other:
Role so far:
Name: Braith Gender: Male Appearance: Personality: A flamboyant man oozing confidence, a Pokémon Trainer battling at the highest level of the game. He’s taking on Major League Gyms one by one, but always up to drop a few charming words to those who he feels deserves them. Commonly sugar-coats his words and abscently flirts, but that’s simply his way of keeping himself entertained. A genuinely helpful guy if you run into a problem, and otherwise simply an oddball when it comes to style and grace. Hometown: Unknown. Background: Unknown. Kind of Pokémon you like: I do have a certain theme among my Pokémon that I like… Purple. The theme is purple. Quirks/Talents/Aspirations/Other: Unknown.
Role so far: Eryn encountered him in Lakewatch Town, and exchanged contact information.
Name: Earl Gender: Male Appearance: Personality: A bit of the fearless sort. He heads straight into possibly dangerous areas in order to find what he’s looking for, and will often assume anyone approaching him wants to fight. That said, he has a cool-headed front, you’re unlikely to see him flinch or surprised in any way, and he truly burns for his passion project of collecting herbs. It is of note he doesn’t particularly take pleasure in human contact and can live entirely without it. Hometown: Rainrock City Background: Unknown. He moves about from forest to forest, seeking special herbs he can use for his potions. Kind of Pokémon you like: Those who can help me with my work, or those I have an emotional connection with. Quirks/Talents/Aspirations/Other: So, Earl can make some pretty unique herbs. He goes all over looking for them. His home, strangely enough, is a hutt in Southern Silent Forest.
Role so far: Skylar walked into him in Southern Silent Forest and he made some herbs for him. Earl then had a Pokémon battle which Skylar won. Earl embarked for his next quest.
Name: Anise Gender: Female Appearance: Personality: A fairly determined young girl who sees challenges in everything. Upon seeing someone, she’s likely to evaluate their toughness. She commonly wears a frown, and expects the worst in any situation that comes along, which is why she prepares herself for the worst. She ensures both herself and her Pokémon are ready for battle, kept fit, and train to get stronger. One day, she hopes to be strong enough to protect us all. Hometown: Unknown. Background: Unknown to the players, however, she’s the disciple of the Redcoast Gym Leader, Hector. Also, in the past at some point, she heard the stories about how the rain around Rainrock may not be natural, and a monster might rampage if she cannot solve the riddle behind the mirror at the Abandoned Shrine. Things aren’t easy, huh. Kind of Pokémon you like: Pokémon that I can depend on! Quirks/Talents/Aspirations/Other: Has a tendency to jump to conclusions. Other than that, she’s a pretty talented martial artist, if where she’s a disciple at didn’t give that away. She’s pretty agile and physically strong.
Role so far: She ambushed Claire at the Abandoned Shrine, where she was then defeated. She informed of how she was trying to show the mirror of the shrine strength because of the prophecy she had heard about showing the mirror the “strong one” would calm the Pokémon that may be causing the storms around Route 3 before it turns into a natural disaster. She then appeared in the Gym when Claire was challenging it and lent Claire Meditite and Froakie during the battle as it needed a full team.
Name: Florrie Gender: Female Appearance: Personality: A somewhat insecure young Pokémon Trainer that second-guesses her every move, she always looks to the stronger presence in her immediate surrounding for guidance. In case of doubt, this is the words of her grandpa that she remembers by heart, but his view on life is often outdated and gets her into trouble. She has a fair bit of maturing to do, yet despite this, she’s a well-meaning girl that wishes with all her heart to become a stronger Pokémon Trainer and to one day help make the world a better place. Hometown: Raremine Town. Background: A frail but fair Pokémon Trainer hailing from Raremine Town, little Florrie always admired her grandfather and asked what she could do to help. Being way too frail to do heavy work at the mines, she was instead pointed to the Pokémon Lab, where she immediately became employed as a delivery girl. She’s been forced to battle often and lose almost always, but she has endured and now she answers directly to Dunstan and has been entrusted with an important mission. Her success rate made a dramatic increase ever since Zei was paired with her. Perhaps with him she’ll finally be able to grow stronger? Kind of Pokémon you like: B-being from Raremine Town, I’ve always felt a close connection to Ground-types… B-but, I wish to expand my team to become varied and unpredictable! Oh, and I like Zei, of course! Quirks/Talents/Aspirations/Other: Her most notable quirk is how she often falls back on her grandpa’s knowledge in a pinch, regardless for how ill-suited it might be. She also has a tendency, or perhaps just ill-fated luck, to get into trouble whenever she’s left on her own. She eventually gets out, often with the help of Zei, but commonly you locate her in a spot of trouble and need to decide if it’s worth saving her or not. That, or just force her to stick around, then she doesn’t get into trouble. Mostly.
Role so far: Ended up in a battle with Dawkin, then guided him to the lab. Explained she’d been hunting after Zygarde Cells, and now Dawkin can do that, too. Headed with him to Mythic Oasis.
Name: Frans Gender: Male Appearance: Personality: A usually optimistic and cheerful young man more than willing to spill his heart out telling stories and liveling up the place. His confidence is somewhat fragile, however, and can be cracked for a more emotional, vulnerable inside that is prone to crying and bouts of depression. Still, he looks his best when standing in the forefront of a Pokémon battle, striking a dramatic pose as he directs the battle. Hometown: Private Palace. Closest enough actual town would be Worldedge City. Background: A young man who never was allowed to have a normal Pokémon journey. When he was young he wanted to become a powerful Pokémon trainer, and having a lot of money, he got his wish and grew to be a powerful and respected Pokémon Trainer in the Pokémon League… but it was not with Pokémon he trained himself. Regretting this, he seeks to catch a low-level Pokémon and restart from scratch… or, well. Almost from scratch. He couldn’t leave his precious Parvati behind, could he? Kind of Pokémon you like: Fantastical Pokémon that look like they come straight from the epic tales of yonder! Quirks/Talents/Aspirations/Other: There are rumors that he shows up on routes outside of Worldedge City trying to catch wild Pokémon. Why would he do that? Surely he has all the Pokémon he needs, being such an experienced Pokémon Trainer. And they say… he can never catch one? That’s weird. A man of his caliber should be able to catch wild Pokémon, no problem. Is he cursed or something…?
Role so far: Claire met him, helped him catch a Bronzor. Except, the Bronzor was registered to Claire? Frans had an epiphany upon them calling Kalmia to ask for tips, and went to confront his father, the owner of the Pokéball factory.
Name: Julian Gender: Male Appearance: Personality: Hometown: Background: Kind of Pokémon you like: Quirks/Talents/Aspirations/Other:
Pitri, Chimecho, Glameow, Magnemite, Kadabra
Role so far:
Name: Daisy Gender: Female Appearance: Personality: Energetic, passionate and quite intent on achieving her goal. One would have said her aura burns with determination if she wasn’t so determined to be ice-typed. This does not mean she’s cold, because she’s friendly, charismatic and very eager to prove who she is. And if you stand in the way of her ambition, she’s going to freeze you(r Pokémon) where you(they) stand, because that’s just the way it is! Hometown: Pureplain City. Background: A decently regular girl from Pureplain City that decided she was going to be absolutely freaking fascinated by the Ice-type and that she’d rule the world with it. With the goal of becoming an Ice-type specializing Elite Four, she first worked her way to the top of the Trainers’ School, becoming their beloved pretend-champion, and with that, she feels ready to head out and take on the world! … Yeah, no, she does not have a complicated story anywhere. A very simple girl. Has parents in Pureplain City she could return to at any time. Kind of Pokémon you like: The splendor of the Ice-type! Quirks/Talents/Aspirations/Other: She coincidentally shares name with a relevant Aroma Lady in Stillwood Village that Erika lost to once. This is a coincidence. Other than that, Daisy is a fan of Pokémon contests and became fast friends with Penelope when she enrolled at school. Might try it out in the future? Oh, and, almost the same way as for Amelia with ghosts, Daisy has a sense around ice-types almost like she knows exactly where they are, mostly. She gets along with them really easily, however that happened. Decently style-aware.
Role so far: Both Amelia and Eryn heard her praised by students long before she appeared on-screen, and when she did she was hunting a chilling ghost in the school in front of Amelia before handing over the note about the seven mysteries of the Trainers’ School. So, the Pokémon she was really after is Misdreavus’ Sneasel companion. Yupp.
Name: Dad and Darcie Gender: Male and Female Appearance: Personality: Exceedingly stoic. Come horrors and hellfire, the two of them will always be exceedingly blank-faced no matter what comes before them, which they communicate between them well. The father is a former trained soldier, who believes if he can help people he needs to. The daughter is a natural spirit medium, who pursues the restless souls of the departed to give them peace. Together, they fight crime! … Too bad that they tend to suck at Pokémon battles! Hometown: Unknown. Background: The father is a trained soldier that could probably win most hand-to-hand combat scenarios with anything, Pokémon or not, that isn’t a ghost. He eventually had Darcie with a sweet woman, but Darcie inherited his wanderlust and also happened to become sort-of a spirit medium, which she refuses to let to go to waste. Hence, the two of them go from tomb to tomb, seeing what they can do! Kind of Pokémon you like: Ground-types are exceptional. They can build trenches for avoiding enemies with heavy firepower, and they can dig paths behind enemy lines for recons and ambushes. As a medium, ghost-types has a natural affinity with me. However, I also appreciate the flexibility offered to me by psychic-types. I will make use of what I need in any given situation. Quirks/Talents/Aspirations/Other: They are… not good Pokémon Trainers… to say the least. However, they’re certainly not going to let that hold them back and are sure to throw themselves headlong into danger with a straight face and with complete disregard for danger. Obviously.
Name: Dunstan Gender: Male Appearance: Personality: Slightly insensitive when it comes to humans. He believes in research and the development of humankind alongside Pokémon-kind, and constantly seeks to learn more about the connections in-between. But, he shows basic decency, even if he often needs to be urged into things other than research by Leila. He often doesn’t even consider that there could be a life outside of research, and that suits him fine. Now, a lot of people have come to talk to him recently… Hometown: Worldedge City Background: A researcher from Worldedge City. A man famed for brilliant discoveries about the origin of Pokémon, who helped sort fact from fiction among the myths and grew to be called the “Legendary Pokémon Researcher”, a statement both about his fame and about his choice of research. Somewhere along the lines he learned that Legendary Pokémon in one way or another formed or governs many different aspects of life, and the key to staying alive may one day depend on humanity’s understanding of these beasts. As such, he seeks them, and he studies them. Kind of Pokémon you like: Guess thrice. Though, I do suppose my preferences tend to go with Pokémon that look ancient. Quirks/Talents/Aspirations/Other: A surprisingly competent Pokémon trainer. His reasoning is that if he’s to study the most powerful Pokémon the world has to offer, he needs to be able to hold his own against them. Other than that, he doesn’t have many quirks. His aspirations lies with the unknown discoveries of the Legendary Pokémon of the world, and perhaps the protecting them from people who’d wish them ill at some point in the future. Who knows.
Role so far: He was driving the truck Kristy attacked because Kristy believed they might be leaking Pokémon to Team Amethyst. Later, Dawkin followed Florrie to him, and Dawkin was given the Zygarde Cube from him to collect Zygarde Cells.
Name: Leila Gender: Female Appearance: Personality: Leila’s a moderately tempered, confident woman who’s good at what she does and shows it. She prefers showing a more lighthearted side of herself, but can quickly switch to serious as the situation needs it. She does enjoy Pokémon battling and showing that she’s a more than just competent trainer. She loves her significant other very much. Hometown: Worldedge City Background: A woman that was always very interested in the science part of life. While she lacked the academic ability to actually progress to becoming a scientist, she did get herself a formidable boyfriend in the field and proved herself a capable administrator as well as Pokémon Trainer, ensuring that the researchers always had what they needed and protected them at times of need. Often runs around between the Research Labs of Worldedge and Raremine, and represents the researchers in Raremine Town when needed. Kind of Pokémon you like: The simple, yet powerful. That can look elegant and prove a point. Those I like. Quirks/Talents/Aspirations/Other: She does like to play the caretaker, bringing coffee, sweets and other nice surprises to the researchers and give them plenty of breaks when needed. She also enjoys cooking good food for her significant other~
Role so far: She was guarding the truck Kristy attacked because Kristy believed they might be leaking them to Team Amethyst. In the conversation that followed, Leila accused Kristy of roughly the same, before she left after Dawkin stopped the argument.
Name: Laurinda Gender: Female Appearance: Personality: She likes to carry herself with a grace and dress herself in a bit of style to make those who see her go “wow”. Laurinda does have a stable head on her shoulders and experienced most which this world has to offer, but she might not be quite as patient as she likes to proclaim she is. Hometown: Highhill Town Background: Currently unknown to the players. But, currently serves as the warden of Infested Woods, a place infamous for the possibility of new trainers being lost forever due to its proximity to where new trainers tend to come from, Pureplain City. Kind of Pokémon you like: Hmmm… If I consider it… I like them feeling mystical. But, above all else, they’re my friends. Quirks/Talents/Aspirations/Other: Constantly has a back-and-forth with her future-seeing challenge-starved Delphox, who doesn’t appreciate being stuck in Infested Woods.
Role so far: She and her Delphox gave Dawkin and Martin tips about the surroundings. She also helped Claire get into Deep Infested Forest and had Delphox watch over her while she went and saved Yvonne. Then she called Eugene of the Freecape Ferrymen over to send Yvonne home to Justroad, but ended up sending both Yvonne and Claire to Redcoast instead on their request. Also, helped Amelia into the Wilted Woods, guiding her to ensure she was safe while she caught herself some ghost-types. She was also looking over the many burned bug-types after Delphox burned down all the wild Pokémon in Deep Infested Woods because Claire wanted to catch a Combee…
Name: Eugene Gender: Male Appearance: Personality: A sensible man who can keep his professionality without being too much of a stick in the mud. While not very outspoken, he does enjoy good company and has a significant passion for both his interests, machines and flying. No better way to make a living. He likes a calm evening of just relaxing and a high-speed dive down a canyon, which really makes him weird in some ways. Hometown: Freecape Town Background: Currently working for the Freecape Ferrymen who take payment for flying people around Isson. Kind of Pokémon you like: It’s not as much of my preference as what does the job for me. … Still. Steel-Pokémon are cool. Flying-Pokémon are also cool. So, in short, Skarmories. Quirks/Talents/Aspirations/Other: Accomplished skydiver and a pilot of actual planes, aside from being an expert Skarmory-rider.
Role so far: Was called over by Laurinda to help get Yvonne home, but ended up ferrying Claire and Yvonne to Redcoast instead. Yvonne has his number.
Name: Elana Gender: Female Appearance: Personality: Normally very calm, she doesn’t normally express much in the way of excitement. However, there’s definitely a burning desire to explore in her. Sitting still in place doesn’t suit her well, and her things are always packed ready to embark at a moment’s notice. She inspects every possibility to leave the office with great interest, otherwise staring at her phone in boredom. Kind of could make you ask why she got herself employed in the first place… but there she is. Hometown: Lakewatch Town, as far as the players know. Background: Unknown to the players, but she’s employed by the Lakewatch Explorer’s Guide Service, where her experiences as an explorer are offered as a guide to people wishing to purchase for money. Yupp. Kind of Pokémon you like: Unknown to the players, but you can bet it has something to do with which help her out in the wild. Quirks/Talents/Aspirations/Other: Unknown to the players.
Ursaring, Scrafty, Slurpuff, Flygon
Role so far: Erika met her in the Explorer’s Guide Service, and got hints on how to find Dawnstones plus a map of Mt. Strength. She collected Elana’s number for later use. May have been a little enchanted by the explorer?
Name: Kathryn Gender: Female Appearance: Personality: A mature and often understanding woman. She’s gentle and generous to her students, and she takes great pride in the Pokémon School as she has created it. However, inside her disciplined self is also the Pokémon Trainer, the experienced woman that was once on a trip herself, and battles or exploration still gets her blood pumping. That was in the past, however, and today she’s dedicated to the task of raising the next generation in her school. She’s pretty happy here. Hometown: Pureplain City, as far as the players know. Background: Unknown to the players, but she’s part of the administration at the Pokémon School in Pureplain City, and pretty high up, too. Kind of Pokémon you like: … Okay, so I’m a bit of a sucker for the cute. I don’t look the type, do I? But still, the stylish and cool have their appeal to me, too! Quirks/Talents/Aspirations/Other: Unknown to the players.
None yet.
Role so far: Erza saw her when she declined Johannes gifts, and after receiving the gifts himself she helped pick away a few of the less useful ones. After getting some information he told her she’d hear his name again and a bit so, and she acknowledged.
Name: Johannes Gender: Male Appearance: Personality: A man who looks basically like his soul has been sucked out. Constantly pursued by a group of Shuppets, a Pokémon known to be attracted by negative emotions, one can one can only imagine what goes on in his mind. He acts like little matters to him, often vanishing way too long from his job at the Pokémon School or giving away way too expensive items on a whim. He has the skills, success and reputation of a master of his trade, yet he’s a hot-spot for Shuppets. Well. Up to the players how they wish to react to him. Hometown: Pureplain City Background: Unknown to the players. However, he was a Team Virtue Admin during the Team Wars, but retired after the war to become a teacher at the Pokémon School. During his time he acquired a wide array of contacts, has become known as a master of Pokémon battling as well as breeding, and is an overall intimidating individual. Kind of Pokémon you like: Unknown to the players. Quirks/Talents/Aspirations/Other: Unknown to the players.
None yet. … Unless you count his stalkers, in which case…
Role so far: Amelia found her way to his house when she was seeking ghost-Pokémon in Pureplain due to the Shuppets stalking him. She apologized for disturbing him and was on her way.
Later, Erza heard him try to give gifts to make Kathryn forgive his absence from his duties at the school, but that didn’t fly. He then gave all those gifts to Erza right outside instead, before heading off.
Name: Trial Master! Real Name: Unknown Gender: Male Appearance: Personality: Hometown: Unknown. Background: He's the grandson of the famous Trick Master, that nobody on Isson has ever heard about. He seeks to become even greater than his grandfather, creating trials for the inhabitants of Isson to attempt to overcome! Kind of Pokémon you like: Unreasonable to consider! All Pokémon have some way of being used cleverly to overcome (or create) a trial! Quirks/Talents/Aspirations/Other: He will become great, just like his grandfather!
Role so far: Erika took his Flying Trial along with Ewan and Joshua and emerged triumphant.
Name: Darryl Gender: Male Appearance: Personality: A sort-of grumpy fisherman making do with subpar fishing conditions, though striving to make them better by simply not being lazy. This pairs terribly with his extraordinarily lazy Swampert, but that’s fine. He’s down-to-earth, a realist without lofty ambitions beyond getting food on the table. Occasionally he takes some pride in being one to distribute Old Rods and whatever advice he can provide to younger trainers that come by. Hometown: Pureplain City Background: Kind of Pokémon you like: These two have been with me through thick and thin. I’m not about to develop tastes now. Quirks/Talents/Aspirations/Other: Exceedingly few, beyond putting food on the table for another day. He also apparently has a shiny Vaporeon. He doesn’t really consider this to be worth that much.
Role so far: Eryn met with him and they discussed stuff. Darryl gave her an Old Rod, which she promptly used to catch the Magikarp, Tula. Eryn got Darryl’s contact info. Eryn apparently did not notice Vaporeon was not a normal colouration due to darkness, we’ll assume.
Name: Charl Gender: Male Appearance: Personality: He’s a happy, hopeful and well-natured young man. He has a tendency to become nervous or downcast when things go wrong, but he always means well and is proud of the things he’s been able to achieve. He has a long way to go yet! Hometown: Highhill Town Background: Despite fairly young age, Charl is an experienced Pokémon breeder and one to take risks that older people perhaps wouldn’t think of. Using a special brand of Pokémon chemistry, he was able to teach Pokémon how to change the type of their moves to their own natural typing, albeit not with 100% success rate. Regardless, he now offers his services to Pokémon trainers, hoping that with experience he’ll be able to expand his abilities. Kind of Pokémon you like: Unknown to the players. Quirks/Talents/Aspirations/Other: Unknown to the players. Though, his ability to let Pokémon learn a new kind of moves is certainly a talent.
Role so far: Amelia met him along with Jacques at a restaurant in Highhill. He demonstrated Charmander’s Fire Scratch for her. Jacques had taken an interest in his abilities.
Darryl - Older trainer at Highhill Town that Rory has known visits his family occasionally and likes to talk to trainers passing by. Has a Machop constantly with him.
Isaac the Hiker - A friend of Johanna Olsen. Has his home in Cooldome City, but spends extensive amounts of time elsewhere, particularly in the Frozen Cave Mines, where he runs the Miner's Shop when he's not mining himself.
Alec the Ninja Kid - For some reason this little kid tagged along with Dawkin to the Mythic Oasis.
Wilhelm the Ruin Maniac - A guy checking out the ruins around Lakewatch Town.
Daisy the Aroma Lady - A specific Aroma Lady, a Gym Trainer of Stillwood Village, that Erika had a bit of a grudge against due to losing to her once.
The sun shines. It's in the midst of spring, the temperature finally on a rise and plants have gained their green colours.
Pureplain City is placed on the south-west brink of Isson, with the town facing the water and spreading quite far. The further in-town you go, the higher the buildings become, but the suburbs spread quite far. In terms of sheer landmass, it might even compete with Worldedge City, although maybe not in height. Life passes normally within this city. Children grow up alongside their parents in houses in the long, friendly streets. Jobs come from the depths of the town in the taller buildings. Schools grow from the reasonably high amount of children in need of tuition. And of course, there are lots of Pokémon.
In Pureplain City, human and Pokémon work together. Be it for manual labour or just for company, Pureplain houses often contain at least one house-hold Pokémon and there are many Trainer's Schools around the city that are plentifully attended. … They were, anyway. With the recent Team Wars between Team Amethyst and Team Virtue, there was a decrease of trainers who dared set out. Pureplain City rejected any team activity, protecting its citizens, and the Trainer's Schools saw a decrease in activity due to what fearful parents might have come to associate trainers with. However, nowhere was normal trainers at fault.
While the town was so normal now that it could be described as boring, with few exciting things ever happening here other than kids growing up, but it was from here a number of new Pokémon Trainers would be embarking on their Pokémon Journeys.

'Mmmmm-HMMMmmghflnuff...' Professor Kalmia made a noise as she stretched, just having woken up from her sleep. She was inside the house-portion of her Pokémon Lab, where she lived. It was very convenient, having her lab be linked to her real home. In the bed on the opposite side of the room slept her assistant, Vivia, who was snoring way louder that she would ever admit to be doing. On the floor sat her Slowpoke, the pink creature standing towards her on four legs, wide-open mouth and large unintelligent eyes. Eh, nevermind that one.
Kalmia couldn't resist smiling. The sun was shining outside, and today was the day when she would finally be providing Pokédexes to her first batch of trainers since becoming a Pokémon Professor. She might actually be more excited than the trainers she was starting out. All because of that stupid Team War, she had been unable to start out some trainers for a while... but now, ALL THAT WAS GONE! It was time to... to... She quickly retrieved her glasses from the desk beside her, and looked at the time.
'I OVERSLEPT!' Panic took her. She must have gotten too excited preparing for this morning last night. She spun around with desperate eyes towards her Slowpoke, and...
'Slowpoke! Didn't I tell you to wake me up at-'
'SLOW!' And the Slowpoke suddenly shot out a Water Gun straight at Kalmia, who-
'HYAH!' - dodged aside at the last second, falling down into her bed and the spray of water crashed into the window behind the bed, splashing a bit of everywhere before sinking down to the floor. Turns out, the Slowpoke had apparently been intending on Water Gunning Kalmia awake for... a while.
'Wah...' Kalmia sat up slowly, staring with a stunned expression at her Pokémon, her glasses somewhat ajar. 'You were... actually intending on waking me up as I asked you to.' She said in stunned surprise, like she hadn't actually been expecting the Pokémon to do that. Slowpoke made no motion that seemed to imply that it had heard her.
'GOOD JOB!' Kalmia announced happily to her Slowpoke, giving it an excited thumbs-up and a wink. 'There! I told you, Vivia! Tell it the same thing every single night, and you're sure to get results!'
'Ueh...?' Vivia sat up slowly, having obviously been woken up by the noise earlier, but just been lying half-asleep with half-closed eyes staring up into the roof until she had been addressed. Kalmia ignored her and looked to her Slowpoke again.
'Really good job! But, start waking me up twenty minutes- no...' She looked at the watch to check. '… An hour earlier next time! That'd be perfect!' Also, Water Gun wasn't really optimal, but one step at a time!
'Thank you!' Kalmia happily jumped up and started putting on her lab-coat, Vivia wondering what all the fuzz was about before she too slowly looked at the clock and then let out a shriek at how late they were and started getting going as well. The Slowpoke was left standing staring at the soaked window without additional movement.

Now, then. You all. You were told to gather in front of Professor Kalmia's lab at 8 AM. It's not located in the midst of Pureplain where all the skyscrapers are, but it's fairly close, just where the lower houses start to become the norm. How was your morning? Did you do anything special for the occasion of intending to leave on your Pokémon journey? Any parents you want to say good bye to? Have you come from afar to be here? Anything else?
Note that travel by car is not the norm in the Pokémon World. They do exist, but you're likely not given a ride in one. Any case, somehow or elsewise, you're headed to in front of this single-floor wide building with an off-shoot that looks like a regular house, with a Pokéball symbol on the front of the lab-area, and a sign in front of it that says “Pokémon Lab”. Assuming you weren't more than an hour late, you will have been forced to wait for Kalmia here.
Edit: This roleplay is definitely only open to returning players.
Would logically come with a Pokémon: Select version, but... this is a roleplay. Haha.
This roleplay was created for the players of dead roleplay Pokémon: One. Though it's now including a few more.
This roleplay is made to simulate embarking on a new Pokémon adventure in a whole new region. The Pokémon available in this region will be taken from all six currently released Generations.
EDIT: Sun and Moon are out, but they weren't at the time this roleplay was made. We are using ORAS movesets and TMs.
You will all embark from Pureplain City, where the Pokémon Professor Kalmia has decided to provide you all with Pokémon and Pokédexes. From there, everything you do will be up to yourselves.

It has been a slightly troublesome time for Pokémon Trainers in Isson. A number of years ago, Team Amethyst figured out the profit of selling rare Pokémon to the rich people of the world and almost hunted several species of rare Pokémon to extinction in the wild. They were so successful and got so confident that the team started hunting for rare Pokémon already in the possession of trainers. When this came to light, there was an uproar of people who declared Pokémon Trainers to be either dangerous or in danger, and a lot of children were stopped from becoming trainers.
In response to the uproars, Team Virtue was formed to counter Team Amethyst. Team Virtue was filled with extremists of the other side, declaring any person seen catching a Pokémon or any person in possession of a rare Pokémon a criminal. A war of Teams was fought across the region of Isson, Team Virtue and Team Amethyst struggling against each other in plain sight. During this was going on, few trainers dared travel the world, risking to either be robbed by Team Amethyst or falsely accused by Team Virtue. Both seemed equally possible.
However, now the war is over. Team Amethyst had lost the majority of its members and sunken back into the darkness whence it came, and the Pokémon population is more or less back to where it was due to the actions of many Pokémon enthusiasts. Team Virtue is finally seeing the error of their ways and is releasing their stern grip on the world. While Team Virtue's grunts are still marching around the world, they're now seen as heroes for having defeated Amethyst and are allowing regular Pokémon trainers again while they watch the world.
Professor Kalmia is more than eager to let out her first batch of Pokémon Trainers! You all are not the only ones setting out for the first time this year. There's groups of young trainers embarking from almost every town of Isson, and the veterans from before the Team Wars will be watching with great interest. You're just a few of the ones that will be leaving from Pureplain City. But, you're a bit special. You've been specifically chosen, for one reason or another, to be the ones that will receive Pokédexes and special first Pokémon from Professor Kalmia!
__________________________
Use the Character Sheets below to make your character and first Pokémon. The first Pokémon will be given to you by Professor Kalmia. You start with a potion and 500 Pokédollars.
When it comes to making your background, feel free to read the general information and about the individual specific towns in the “Towns of Isson” hider. However, the information I am providing you is far from all information I have. If you have any questions which you want me to answer that you need to create your character in a certain specific way, feel free to ask. Interested in a particular location on the map and want to create a character somehow involved with said location? Want to be acquaintance of or related to a Gym Leader or someone else? Want to be somehow connected to a Team? Anything like that? Feel free to just PM me, and we can sort any such details out.
Note, however. I am giving you the option of asking, and I will answer. But otherwise, I am intentionally leaving you all with relatively little knowledge. Because, when you start from the starter-town in any of the games, you do not know the locations yourself. If you want to stay true to that, you can just make yourself be from Pureplain City, the most normal city of ever, or you can recently have moved here from some other region. Then, you won't really need to read the General Isson Information or the Towns of Isson folder at all. You can just let me tell you when you get there~ … Oh, and Pureplain DOES have its own Gym, but I won't tell about it unless you ask, there, too.
Trainer Name
– Note, all NPCs only have first names. Because Pokémon Characters in the games generally only have one name. Except Steven Stone, for some reason.
Appearance: Picture encouraged. Use words in this section to describe little details that an image doesn't cover. Like, height or weight or hidden things. If no such things, skip this field. Age: Remember, you're all to be kids. That's the point of Pokémon. Gender: Male or female. Personality: How the individual is as a person. Hometown: Town of origin. Feel free to ask for information to make your decision. Background: Remember, some way or another, you're among the few that Professor Kalmia is providing a Pokédex to. A reason for that would be nice. And, don't go exceedingly dark, alright? This is Pokémon. Haha. Kind of Pokémon you like: Because... why not! Quirks/Talents/Aspirations/Other: Secretly wants to be a []? Really good/Terrible at []? Has a phobia for []? Can't stop []-ing to save his or her own life? Will [] in response to []? Random oddities. Feel free to leave this blank for now if you can't think of any right now and fill in over time~ Items: 1x Potion. You'll obtain more over time. Pokédollars: 500p. You'll obtain more over time.
Pokémon Name Appearance: Small picture is encouraged. Use words in this section to describe specific peculiarities, if any. Species: Have this only if it is different from Pokémon Name. Gender: ♂ or ♀. Skip this field if genderless. Feel free to just copy this symbol somewhere appropriate so we know, then this field can be cut. Type: The Pokémon's type. Primary first (left), secondary second (right). Personality: Nature/Mood if you feel like it, but that's not that important in this. Should likely be rather short for the Pokémon. Quirks/Talents/Aspirations/Other: Random oddities. For Pokémon, this field is completely optional. Level: Describes how powerful we should expect the Pokémon will be. Your starter will be at 5. Moves: All that the Pokémon learns naturally up until that level plus any special moves taught. Ability: Pokémon ability. Tell it's name and what it does. Held Item: All Pokémon can hold something for some effect. Yupp, all of them. Disregard logic when necessary.
Limits on starter Pokémon: 1. Starter must be the lowest evolution of the line. They'll be level 5, you know. 2. No Pokémon that evolve into Pseudo-Legendaries. Because those are exceedingly rare. 3. No Pokémon that do not evolve. Picking one would mean you'd be a lot stronger than the rest to start with. 4. Baby-Pokémon does not count as part of the evolution line unless you pick them. Meaning you can pick a Pikachu if you like. 5. No shinies unless I say you can have a shiny. Unlikely, as I'll roll a die with appropriate chance. 6. No Dragon-types, they're rare too. Pokémon that evolve into dragons, like Swablu or Horsea, are fine. 7. No Trapinch.
You control yourselves, one character, and your Pokémon. I control the rest of the world. That means I control all NPCs, I control all Wild Pokémon and which ones appear, and I control all random factors that we should expect in a Pokémon World. Of course, I will take a mix of logic, Rule of Cool/Funny and random chance into account when I make these decisions, and may behind the scenes make use of dice to decide an outcome. However, you won't know if I reasoned my way to a solution by logic, rolled dice to decide an outcome or just went “wouldn't it be cool/funny if...”.
I make the decision of how well a strategy works. But if you're fighting a Pokémon of equal power, the superior strategy will definitely win in the end.
Official Pokémon stats will only be used as a reference. One Pokémon having higher attack-stat only means that, in general, that Pokémon is better at doing damage, but it is not determined by numbers. So by all means, go for the Pokémon you personally feel is the coolest of them all even if it has weaker stats, and we'll go from there and MAKE it the best of its kind, capable of destroying the odds. If you can find one, that is. Yupp.
Naturally, this means any Legendaries will be in a league of their own. Don't expect any normal Pokémon to be able to one-to-one a Legendary, regardless of typing or stats. … And, for that matter, don't particularly expect to find Legendaries either. They're Legendary for a reason~
And yes. I will roll a die for every single Pokémon you all encounter, to see if it is a shiny. Don't get your hopes up, though. However, shiny Pokémon will naturally create a legend of their own if seen. It could be possible that rumours of a shiny Pokémon has been circulating around town, and if so, it could be possible for you to seek it out...
You will be starting in Pureplain City. From there, you may group up or split up in whatever order you desire. In every route, there's a total of six different actions that you can do.
1. Find Pokémon. Can be specified what kind of Pokémon is being searched for, and how you search. 2. Train Pokémon. With this command, we can jump ahead in time and skip posting about grinding. 3. Seek trainers. There should be some here and there. Note, some may challenge you instead. 4. Hurry along. Avoids further confrontations and try to get safely to the next destination. 5. Specify. If you specify what you want to do, the GM will take it into account and tell the result. 6. Trigger random event. Force the GM to use his imagination to make a scenario for you.
The GM will then tell you the result of your actions, and roleplay as would logically follow.
Even if travelling in a group, each individual can do their own thing on each route. Just assume you regrouped later. Note that you CAN access these options anywhere, towns and caverns or anywhere, it's just optional.
Note that you CAN explore outside the mapped routes. Just don't expect to find too much unless you're following a lead. But do note, the locations on the map are just the locations known to the general public.
We are using ORAS-moveset, Gen VI. Sun and Moon wasn't out when this roleplay started.
Pokémon are assumed to know all the moves they'd naturally learn when they reach their level. TMs can be used to teach Pokémon moves they otherwise wouldn't know, but this then breaks the TM. There are skilled Move Tutors that can also be used to teach Pokémon moves, for a price of their choice. When it comes to HM-moves, you don't need to actually know the move if your Pokémon can logically take you on a ride over water on its back. However, to actually know the combat-moves you will require the necessary special TMs. Like, causing a tidal wave with Surf or blinding the opponent with Flash.
If what a move does when transitioned into roleplaying format is debatable, we'll reason our way to a result using our superior human minds. Specifically, I will and you argue for what you believe it will do.
As for Pokémon abilities, they will be taken into account as best a roleplay can allow. This might become a bit hard to interpret depending on the ability, but ask the GM and you will be answered.
Evolving happens as it does in the games, with the exception of Pokémon that evolve via trading. That's silly. Instead, these Pokémon evolve in a manner that I see fit. … I am obviously not going to tell you how this is, but if it involved an item previously, you can be sure it has something to do with it.
Some battles aren’t exactly integral to the plot. Hence, it makes sense that we can limit the amount of posts those takes us if we want to. It works as follows;
You announce that you want to Quick-Catch a Pokémon or Quick-Fight a trainer. In the case of a trainer, I will announce what Pokémon s/he has. Then, you say what strategies you will use in order to capture the Pokémon / defeat the trainer. I, as the GM, will then consider how effective these strategies will be and then write down a summary of the entire battle and its results, along with eventual damage your Pokémon might suffer from it.
It is important to note that the GM decide if you succeed or not, not you. But this is a speeding-up method to be used when it is unlikely the opposing Pokémon or minor trainer will stand a chance against you. Try quick-catching a Dragonite or quick-fighting an Elite Four and you will suffer. But, anyways, if something unexpected happens or it becomes clear your tactic will not work, I will end my post and give you the chance to change your tactics.
That’s the way of quick-catching/fighting.
The Pokémon League is divided into two parts. Minor League and Major League. Both leagues have gyms spread across the region. Each league has nine badges, collecting eight of those badges from one league gives you permission to wander through Victory Road. Minor League trainers will be allowed to compete against other Minor League trainers, while Major League trainers fight against Major League trainers. If you wish to seek out gyms, Major or Minor, feel free to ask any locals. They can surely point you in the appropriate directions.
Do note, Minor League is intended as training to rise to Major League. Many find themselves unable to win against Major League Gym Leaders, so Minor League exists to let more people compete in the Pokémon League. In addition, a lot of new trainers are coming out now, and the Minor League is to be their first challenge. But those who have competed in Major League should not back down to Minor. Though note, although the Gym Leaders of Minor League do use lower level Pokémon, this is in some cases because that they're holding back in order to fit the requirements to be Minor League Gym Leaders and they're actually Major League level themselves. They might be more than happy to have a Major League battle.
Gym Leaders have the right to refuse a battle if they see sufficient reason for it, but they are required to give the means for trainers to prove themselves worthy. Commonly this might involve the different Gym Trainers that frequent the different Gyms, but some Leaders might make their requirements entirely different and unpredictable. All fights in Gyms follow the rules designated by the Gym Leader. Every single town in Isson has a badge for trainers to collect, so feel free to check out the local Gym in every single town you come across, if you want. The sign on the outside will tell if the Gym is Major or Minor League.
Cliffs – The Isson region's ground is generally elevated numerous meters above sea-level, so almost all places where ground transitions to sea is impossible to make a landing on. The notable exceptions are all marked on the map with sea-routes. Assume the rest gives quite an impressive view that you don't want to jump from, particularly at Worldedge City. Pureplain City is notably at sea-level, and travelers from other regions can dock there.
Two Landmasses – There are two major landmasses in Isson, as the map clearly points out. These are the Southern and the Northern, although they're more positioned like south-west and north-east. Worldedge City grew from people wanting to breach through Mt. Edge, which separated the two landmasses, and they finally managed to dig through. Trucks filled with materials go through the mountain every day, now, and the public can get transported to the other side for a fee if they don't want to brave the dangerous caves. However, as with anything that costs money, people find alternatives. The mysterious Crossing appears and disappears seemingly at will, people climb down the cliff at Freecape Town to surf over and take the hazardous climb on the other side to the Cycling Outpost, by taking Stalford's Ferry over the haunted waters to the Eerie Lighthouse or by surfing in the midst of treacherous cliffs between the Power Station and Gentlevale City. All is possible. And of course, then there's those that just fly with Pokémon.
Nobility – There is a gathering of richer people in Isson that live around Bigfjord, Worldedge and Freecape. They're generally the ones that run all the business in the region. Normal people often seem not to have a choice but either work for one of the branches of their big companies in their area or become a Pokémon Trainer. The Pokémon League and the Battle Dome appear to be the only businesses that are not run by these companies. Those who are born from these rich people become a form of nobility, living in large mansions and dress in very fancy clothes and partake in a very different part of society. However, when it comes to the Pokémon League, nobody has priority.
Team Amethyst – A team that became large a number of years ago that recruited the majority of the crooks of the world in order to capture and raise powerful and rare Pokémon in order to sell to the said nobility. Their actions became so successful and automated that it endangered the freedom of many rare Pokémon as they were combing entire areas with no mercy. When it was as worst, they also became willing to rob trainers on Routes for their rare Pokémon. There was a public outcry as the reports came in, and Team Virtue was formed to do battle against them. In a combination that of that the nobles realized their mistakes and that Team Virtue was ever in strength, Team Amethyst slunk back into the darkness. Even today, nobody knows where they were based or who the leader was.
Team Virtue – A fairly large amount of years ago, Team Virtue arose to fight Team Amethyst, and they fought for those same amount of years. They gathered members and spoke out as being a force of justice, fighting Pokémon criminals, removing their Pokémon and protecting rare Pokémon. They’ve determined that certain parts of the world is “protected” from humans, and have been making a church which they’re using to pray to the Mythic Pokémon which is said to live at the top of the giant spire into the sky known as Mt. Allmass. They’ve gained considerable support in parts of Isson, but also attract people who do the opposite, the world is split in two on what to think of them.
They're known to sometimes search trainers for rare, protected Pokémon and rescue the Pokémon from the trainer if they deem it necessary. Due to people's outcries, they do so far more rarely now, but it still happens. Their publicity remains generally positive due to having defeated Team Amethyst and because they've been willing to put a damper on their more extreme behaviour. They're based in Justroad City, where even the Gym Leader is a member. … Due to their operations in Goldshore Town, there are rumours that they a bit pressed on money.
Pureplain City – A notably happy, traditional and extremely normal city that is standing in the south-western part of Isson. It's one of few cities placed at sea-level, so it's fairly common that foreigners enter Isson from Pureplain. It also contains both the Pokémon Lab and the Trainer’s School, so it is perfect for a place to begin a trip as a Pokémon Trainer. Couldn't suit Kalmia better. However, it's... rather devoid of exciting happenings.
Highhill Town – A small, lively town built on top and around a small hill. It is relatively peaceful a town, with many trainers coming here to pay their respect at the nearby Silent Shrine inside the Silent Woods. Many green, lively fields surround it, and many children can be seen running around playing happily. There are multiple ancient rocks spread throughout town, as well, which may or may not have significant meaning. People of today do not really know.
Lakewatch Town – A town built specifically for watching over the dragons of Dragon Lake from afar. They regularly patrol the lake in small boats to ensure the dragons stay protected, and quite a few have gained the respect of the dragons in turn. If you just want to see the dragons, there’s no others who can give better tours. Though, if you mention that you want to catch them, you might be given the evil eye due to the actions of Team Amethyst.
Rainrock City – A town at the base of Mt. Strength, it is placed right in the midst of where the clouds exhaust themselves while trying to go over the mountains. This leads to near constant rain in this rocky town, but the residents seem perfectly fine with this. The rivers and rocks mean there are plenty of both rock and water Pokémon here, and plenty of umbrellas.
Stillwood Village – Inside the forest, there's a quiet little village at the opening of the Mountain Valley. The sky is largely obscured by large trees, as this village was built very much in the middle of the forest. The people here live in peace, and wild Grass Pokémon freely walk through the streets. People here are known to be almost blissfully oblivious of the outside world.
Redcoast City – A city famous for its long beaches and sunny land, a lovely spot to go on a vacation to. One can bath or fish or whatever one wants at the sea-side of the world, and the city includes more than enough traps for tourists to spend their money in. In the distance, the Sacred Grounds can be seen, but Team Virtue has forbidden passage to this location.
Raremine Town – Raremine is placed here in order to prepare people intending on entering the desert, providing many things for travellers to ensure their safety. It also provides lodging for the many workers that work within the Desert Mines and to the Fossil Researchers. Populated mainly by large men with over-sized tools, many a traveller can confirm that the jolly nature of the Raremine residents is no myth. There's also a surprising amount of trees here for a town right by the desert.
Cooldome City – Once upon a time, a Pokémon Champion of Isson moved to Mt. Chill, resolving that only those who could breach the weather could challenge him. However, trainers followed him, and a city was sculpted into a particularly huge dome of ice. Cooldome is today known for its Battle Dome, where Pokémon Trainers fight in tournaments to prove they are the best. It's been a little stale lately, just old veterans squaring off for the thousand time due to the Team War, but that could come to look up now!
Freecape Town – A town looking out over and hanging off the cliffs towards the eastern landmasses of Isson. The buildings are attached to the walls, giving unique views. Here there reign powerful winds. Freecape is surrounded by plenty of wind power generators, as are the cliffs below. This town is also known for the relatively large amount of rich individuals living here, because of the spectacular view of the sea which it provides.
Bigfjord City – A town filled with corporate people more concerned about how they’re going to keep power flowing to all the towns in Isson rather than anything relating to Pokémon. The large city that contain plenty of things darker than what the average public wants to deal with, most trainers avoid this second-largest city of Isson. Still. In the alleys during the nights, the Pokémon that only come out when it is as darkest are known to dwell.
Worldedge City – Isson’s largest city. It is split cleanly in half by Mt. Edge, which separates the two land-masses. On either side there are cliffs, making traversing by water difficult. It is filled with all sorts of bustling attention, both sides a complete city with department store, Pokémon Center and Gym. It trades from here to all other cities in Isson, becoming the heart of the region and holding lots of the population. Don’t worry about needing to traverse the dangerous Mt. Edge, though! The Psychic Pokémon around can easily transport you to the other side! … Assuming you pay a pretty penny, of course.
Justroad City – A city filled with outgoing people, straight streets and stylish buildings. If sports and shows are your groove, then Justroad City is your capital. The media city is always bustling with activity with positive smiles on their faces, the mentality here is always “be the best you can be” with many opportunities to become artists, athletes, TV-stars and more. Of course, most of it involves Pokémon one way or another. It also hosts a very famous cycling competition around Mt. Allmass. It also happens to be the base of Team Virtue, and their support is very strong here, their members often seen on the streets with the residents seeing them as heroes.
Witchpeak City – Once a gathering of researchers, Witchpeak grew from those who had interest in the heightened ghost activity just south of the city. The entire town is pretty special with the ghastly atmosphere that’s kept around, and naturally, the largest cemetery in Isson is located here, too. But don't worry, the people here are pretty sensible. Many of which are hikers intending on taking on Mt. Allmass or travellers visiting the legendary Sunrise Tower!
Goldshore Town – Despite its name, Goldshore is surrounded by rather unfriendly marshes. Goldshore Town is named so due to the considerable amount of gold found in the nearby caves. Team Virtue’s presence is large here, and much of the minerals found goes directly to their services. It is to fund their justice, they say. However, there appears to be problems cleaning up the town. It’s fairly dirty and many poison-type Pokémon gather around it.
Gentlevale City – A town filled with the most pleasant people around, with plenty of spas and resort items. There are deals here that give special treatment to trainers with many badges, since they’re probably intending on trying to brave both the Unforgiving Caverns and then the Victory Road. It has become the goals of some trainers to get badges just to get the bonuses at the Gentlevale resorts. The buildings look luxurious and each resident is skilled in the arts of servitude.
Fairsea Outpost – An outpost formed above the Sunken City that was discovered on the ocean floor not too long ago. Many adventurous people dive down with their Pokémon to seek treasures or underwater Pokémon, and the researchers gathered above are always happy to pay for the discoveries trainers might make. All for the common goal of research. The town itself floats on the waves, an anchor holding the entire place above the city.
Magmagulf Town – Was once named Magmagulf due to the crescent-moon shape of the island, and the magma pouring down into the gulf of it. … However, over time, the gulf has started filling up, but the name has stuck. The volcano itself is actually on the verge of erupting, but due to many trainers with Ice-Pokémon being stationed around the volcano, they’re keeping the Volcano cool, hopping to let the magma pressure cool off over many years instead of erupting once and causing havoc.
Ironcliff Town – A town which houses have been planted into the cliffs with the help of powerful Steel Pokémon. A town of veterans, few young people wander the streets. This town lies right before Victory Road and it is filled with Trainers who’ve had their fun, and is more than happy to entertain young-uns who think they’re ready. Honestly, it is kind of dangerous to walk the streets if you’re below 30, all these old-timers are itching for a fight after the long-winded Team War.
Pokémon League – A place where those who have proven themselves worthy gather, be it through Minor or Major League. They may challenge the Elite Four and the Champion, or if they wish they can partake in the different tournaments which are arranged here for the best of the best. Typically, the winner of a Major League tournament is allowed to challenge the Elite Four and the Champion, but if the Elite so feel like it, then anyone can challenge them at any time.
When posting, please have a hider detailing your current things and current Pokémon. Also, start out with a name, so that we know what character's post it is. We're stupid, and might need reminders, after all. Having your speech in a different colour (that is still bright and readable) also helps. There's a mini-sheet for your Pokémon to have in posts right below this paragraph. Also, feel free to also include current inventory, a link to character sheet, etc. Other than that, write as much in your post as you feel like. This is casual. Don't look to my posts for how big your posts should be, I'm the GM, my posts are supposed to be rather big, I'm answering to a lot of players. Write as much as you believe you need to have fun. I don't need to say that you're here to have fun, right?
Pokémon Name Small picture encouraged. Have a gender-symbol if appropriate. Species: Have this only if it is different from Pokémon Name. Type: Optional. We probably all know by heart, but could be nice to have. Level: Pokémon's level. Status: Suddenly more important for in-battle. Moves: Optionally, for complete-ness. Ability: Optionally. Even more optionally, tell what it does. Held Item: Since it can change from moment to moment.
That's about it. Feel free to style things after your own preference. Tell me if there were any inconsistencies or if I messed up. Press any images for the larger version of it. Ask me if you have any questions or want something clarified. Tell me if you're dropping out. And yupp, that's about it.
My opinions. I wasn't able to partake this time because things in my life, but I sure will read and vote!
Note, I am no authority, so don't take my words to heart if you disagree with them.
So, uh. Did you interpret “heatwave” as “a wave of something hot” and then “wave” as spread and “hot” as something a lot of people talk about and as such got “a spread of a rumour”? That's an interesting take on it.
Though, classic horror doesn't really appeal to me. I also apparently mistook who the main character was, not that it mattered a lot. The twist in the end kind of didn't impact me at all, either. Anyways. Nicely written, anyway. It was a cohesive story, after all. You might want to be wary of the lack of commas after your “well”s.
... Hah. Does this qualify as poetic? Regardless. This was very interesting to read. Evolution before my very eyes. If it does have a weakness, it would be that it doesn't go beyond “interesting”. It doesn't emotionally invest the reader or anything. But, it never was supposed to. So, Very, very well done.
... Iiiiiiiiiiiiiiii'm fairly confused. And not particularly impressed. Oh, well. Thanks for writing!
... Oh, my. That actually got pretty emotional. I'm impressed that you made me feel those kinds of emotions. Good job. That's some sincere story-telling capability in that. … Or maybe just knowing a particular technique. Dunno if I know it. Hah. … Oh, well. Well done.
I totally hope April had some sunscreen on. Haha.
There isn't much to this. Just enjoying the height of summer. Which is totally fine. Totally a feel-good text of just enjoying life, and that can be totally enjoyed, especially with the deepness of the last entry. Thank you for this little break from everything else. I feel totally relaxed now.
And big dogs are the best. Haha.
Well. That was rather beautiful. A down-to-earth story about a chef returning to his roots and finding a surprising talent restrained by the ghosts of the past. Interesting, very interesting. I applaud your ability. It is a kind of story I have experienced before, in that the cause was a man like Luca, but you've put an interesting twist on it all with it being about cooking and all of this. And I have no idea what they say about watched pots. Haha.
Very well done.
Huew. Deep. I completely understand how you got the idea to maake this. It feels a lot like you, too. Very engaging and very interesting to read, because even without knowing I could tell this was based on a true story. Well done. … I know you can't change history, but him just eventually dying was kinda disappointing. I thought there would be some form of twist to how he could tell the story, but I suppose it was just his ghost rambling on to me. Haha.
… Also, I've played War Thunder. I can TOTALLY BELIEVE a normal gun-shot would go STRAIGHT THROUGH those planes...! XD
My vote is between The Spark, The Tenth Circle, The Watched Pot and The Springs Gone By.
When it comes to overall quality, The Tenth Circle is unfortunately outperformed by The Watched Pot, but it's a really good entry regardless.
Unfortunately, I think The Spark loses out on the other two due to lack of epic scale. But it is really, REALLY interesting!
So between The Watched Pot and The Springs Gone By... I think I have to go with The Watched Pot. The Springs Gone By is really nice a read, but by the end of it there was no higher revelation or anything that we didn't already know beyond where he wrote the famous line. It's really nice, still, it's in second place on my list, but The Watched Pot is a complete story that I cannot bypass for that.
@PatrickDrummer As I am part of Group 1 I didn't really keep track of the incidents of Group 2 and as such hoped someone else would answer, but that seems not to be the case, which I find sad.
So, um. Mako appears to have sealed the main doors with ice wall, but these 8 guys appear to be coming in through a side-door. Maverick has neutralized 2, while Dianna has neutralized one, Nergal has neutralized one. Mako activated the sprinkler system to get access to water to create said ice-wall with, because water-powers, apparently, but doing so made everyone else unhappy and wet. Dianna and Phone Freak are heading for the floor above, while their beasts... the cat seem to follow Dianna while the doctor seem to be staying and collecting downed guards. This should make it 4 guards left, and in SimpleD's post, he writes that half are aiming for Nergal and half are aiming for Maverick. So 2 at each. He also wrote that they're exposed to the rest of the team.
That's pretty much what I can pick up. My apologies if I missed anything. Feel free to go high noon on them if you like, since the four target-boxes apparently don't know you're there.
