Brittany passed a corner, her hands deep into the pockets of her ripped pants, wearing nothing but that and a bandage wrapped around her chest and back on her body for decency, her short hair black with a colored cyan streak in it to look cool, her face glaring forward angrily in a constant frown for maximum delinquency. Had to maintain her image. Except, behind the corner, she walked almost straight into a girl in dark dress and eyepatch, long white hair and clutching a stuffed bunny. Brittany recoiled, she had showed up so suddenly, with an empty expression looking at her. This angered Brittany.
‘Huuuuuuh!?’ She leaned way into the strange girl’s comfort zone, getting up in her face with a loud assertion of dominance. ‘Who’s way do you think you’re getting into, you little-’ It was obvious enough this was another Magical Girl, but-
Brittany was suddenly slapped across the face my a tentacle, while another wrapped around her right leg and pulled hard, making her lose balance. Brittany grunted, but the whole thing wouldn’t have been so bad if she hadn’t fallen straight into complete blackness instead of hitting the ground. She stared up in fright, through the portal she had just fallen through to up to where Mariette stood, glaring condescendingly down at her, clutching her bunny.
‘A-AAAAAAA-’ Brittany cried out in despair, reaching up as if to request help from Mariette, but no such aid came. A tentacle wrapped over her mouth and eyes, blinding her, while another wrapped over her outstretched arm and forced it down, and the mass of tentacles carried her into the void as Mariette closed the portal. The girl was gone, swallowed by the ground and all the tentacles that had come from it.
‘That’s everyone?’ Mariette asked, looking to where she knew Eli was standing, on the roof above. Deni and Eli, both in harpy forms, jumped off the roof and stretched their wings to glide down, Deni grinning as usual while Eli looked more focused. Immediately upon landing, Eli pulled out her notebook while Deni playfully inspected where Brittany had fallen through.
‘Brittany Carroll, so called Uberos Antique, claimed.’ Eli noted, writing a note. ‘That’s the last regular Magical Girl on our list.’ She then nodded, confirming to Mariette. ‘We’re done.’ So said with a note of finality. Mariette felt a brief note of relief at that. Their gift to Justine and Caroline was just about ready. Only the special request to go.
‘Oy. She was a Darkness-specialized stealth-girl, said to be untraceable, few people even knows what she looks like. Even transformed, close combat’s not her forté. She’s been so careful to keep her normal state a secret. Yet, her immediate instinct upon being faced with an unknown magical girl while untransformed was to get up in her face. Why, do you think?’ Deni looked down curiously at the not-portal asphalt the girl had vanished through.
‘Flawed personality… perhaps.’ Eli sighed, and Deni just grinned. ‘Regardless, being so sneaky about herself made her an excellent target to just vanish without a trace and nobody caring.’
‘Yeah, well, it worked out for us~!’ Deni simply commented, looking up and to the other two. ‘Now, about an hour before we’re to be at The Pit Stop! We’re totally in time! We’re going, right? We’re not just going to leave them hanging, right?’ Deni grinned, obviously looking forward to it.
‘…’ Mariette stood silent, for a bit. She had already spoken a bit about this with the Djinn Sisters after having sent the twins away on missions, because there was a bit to discuss, but now to share it with these two as well.
‘I remind that our last meeting wasn’t friendly. There is a chance this is an ambush, and even if it isn’t, this won’t be just a friendly dinner. There’s likely a purpose to wanting to see us. I will hear them out. But we’ll take precautions. Here’s what we’ll do…’ Mariette declared, and then started telling her plan, Eli listening carefully while Deni’s grin just grew wider and wider, liking what she was hearing.

So, Pureplain City has quite the amount of grass, actually. While there are a lot of asphalted roads, big buildings growing up and so, the suburbs has a lot of passages between buildings where grass grows and Pokémon dwell, and wild Pokémon could also just wander if they felt like it. But, the first Pokémon that Erza laid his hands on… was a brown little canine with furry face and large ears, blinking a little in realization at being targeted.
Pokédex Entry #506 – Lillipup, the Puppy Pokémon. The hair on its face senses extremely subtle changes in atmosphere and can be used as a radar. It’s known to bravely face off against terrible odds, but also to run away from battles it cannot win.
The little puppy Pokémon was swiftly struck by Eevee’s tackle, and tried to counter with its own. Though, it had been fairly decently hurt by the Tackle, and probably couldn’t handle another one, so Erza could throw his Pokéball. It hit, and the little Pokémon was taken into the ball with a red flash, and the ball fell down onto the ground.
It shook once.

With that over, there was another Pokémon that was pretty much swarming the place. A little bird trying to get food from trainers around and one which every trainer in imaginable existence probably has been annoyed by at some point.
Pokédex Entry #16 – Pidgey, the Tiny Bird Pokémon. They are docile Pokémon that avoid fighting, kicking up sand in an enemy’s face or using Whirlwind to avoid battles. They have sharp senses of direction, capable of finding their nest or destination from very large distances. They inhabit tall grass where they search and prey on small bugs.
Well, you got to start somewhere.
The battle was similarly swift in its execution. Eevee tackled, the targeted Pidgey got into battle-mood and tackled back, and then Erza threw his Pokéball because the Pidgey wouldn’t have been able to resist another Tackle.

So, after that, he’d find that there were actually few Pokémon around that weren’t either Lillipup or Pidgey. But, hey, training. Eevee got to practice fighting other Pokémon whose only attack was Tackle, and that was fine. Eevee took a bit of damage in turn, but things were largely working out in Eevee’s favor. Then, there was something different. There was a wild white/beige like cat-Pokémon resting on a fence…
Pokédex Entry #52 – Meowth, the Scratch Cat Pokémon. During the night Meowth are known to sneak around stealthily in search of prey and shiny objects which it adores with a passion. During the day, Meowth is known to laze around all day. In the dark, its eyes glow.
Pokédex could probably identify that it was wild. Anyway. After they got close, the Meowth woke up and somehow sensed it’s situation, jumping down to meet them, seemingly confident. Eevee dashed in for a Tackle… But the Meowth countered with a perfectly timed and almost unnaturally quick scratch!
It became a bit of a battle, actually. The opposing Meowth was fairly strong for the level, and quite a technician with Scratch as well, and occasionally seemed really quick with its motions. But Eevee wouldn’t let himself be outdone. Perhaps taking advantage of other moves (maybe Erza adapted some strategy or so), the two Pokémon fought fairly evenly, both managing to get in tackles and scratches.
Eventually, both Pokémon looked fairly hurt, so it was time to throw a Pokéball. It hit the Meowth, which stared in a bit of surprise, before it was absorbed into the Pokéball. The ball then fell down onto the ground.

Eevee grew to Level 6!
So, with that, Erza had managed to catch all three of the most common wild Pokémon of Pureplain City. Thoooough, in that last battle Eevee had suffered significant damage and likely needed to be healed before more. And all the Pokémon he had caught were also weakened. Well, he probably was going to go heal. But after that, then?
Pureplain City is placed on the south-west brink of Isson, with the town facing the water and spreading quite far. The further in-town you go, the higher the buildings become, but the suburbs spread quite far. In terms of sheer landmass, it might even compete with Worldedge City, although maybe not in height. Life passes normally within this city. Children grow up alongside their parents in houses in the long, friendly streets. Jobs come from the depths of the town in the taller buildings. Schools grow from the reasonably high amount of children in need of tuition. And of course, there are lots of Pokémon.
In Pureplain City, human and Pokémon work together. Be it for manual labour or just for company, Pureplain houses often contain at least one house-hold Pokémon and there are many Trainer's Schools around the city have always been plentifully attended, not counting the recent drop of embarking trainers due to the Team Wars. In addition, Pureplain Harbor is known as the “Gateway of Isson”, as that’s where all the ferries from outside the region dock, giving life to quite the marketplace. A common attraction of the city is the Super Contest stage, but other than that, Pureplain remains what it has always been. Pure and plain.
1. Find Pokémon. Can still search for Pokémon in towns~ 2. Talk. In cities, there are considerably more people one can talk to. Specify what kind you’re looking for. 3. Exit. Exit the town to any of the connected areas. 4. Specify. If you specify what you want to do, the GM will take it into account and tell the result. 5. Trigger random event. Force the GM to use his imagination to make a scenario for you. 6. Notable Buildings. Visit any of the facilities of the city! 6.1. Pokémon Center. Heal all your Pokémon. 6.2. PokéMart. Go to a store and buy things. 6.3. Gym. ??? 6.4. Super Contests. Rank 2 / 4. Where hopefuls become idols! 6.5. Trainer’s School. Where young trainers study to become better. Has a little park of wild Pokémon. 6.6. Kalmia’s Lab. You know you’re always welcome. 6.7. Pureplain Harbor. Known as the Gateway of Isson, it has a marketplace and ferries to places.
Connected areas: Route 1. Easier path, just follow the bigger road. Route 2. Walk through quite an amount of suburbs until you eventually reach the path. Sea. There’s water, alright. Can take you anywhere you want to go, assuming you have means to traverse it.
‘Driffff…?’ One of the floating balloons looked down at her, it’s slightly high-pitched voice drawn out in the rain. By its call, the other Drifloons also had their attention drawn. And… they started descending to her, redirecting from their aimless wandering, expelling air to slowly fall to her level. There, they inspected Amelia, the oval eyes of the silly-looking balloons looking at her curiously as they drifted around her.
‘Lllloooon…?’ One of them offered her its heart-shaped “hand”, trying to put it into hers. That is, it seemed to want to be held. Emotionally, it seemed mostly curious about her and wanted to investigate, no hostile intentions. Up to Amelia what she wanted to interpret this action is.
‘Duck…!?’ The Ducklett blinked in surprise when Lucian said his trainer had asked that. While apprehensive, Ducklett dropped the “guard” and looked at Lucian, unsure but for the moment seemingly following along with that, watching him as he made the call.
‘Hello, this is Mia.’ Lucian would reach where he intended, hearing the girl from earlier’s voice. ‘You did!?’ She reacted in stunned surprise, and then listened to the rest which he had to say. After the last statement about having some questions, there was a silence in the other end, followed by the muffled sound of her speaking to someone else. It was a short exchange, which they successfully kept away from being overheard through the phone.
‘… I’m currently heading to Lakewatch Town over Route 14, but I won’t be staying. If you could… can we meet on Route 5, where the plains are just starting, east of Lakewatch, around the entrance of Endless Forest? Does that work?’ Mia asked, concern and focus in her voice. ‘Also, let me have a brief word with Ducklett. Just so he’ll be obedient until we meet.’ That was her response.
So Rory set off to follow Erza, somehow missing where he was going at some point and assumed that he was heading for Route 1. After heading along the main road, the buildings of Pureplain City grew fewer and fewer until the remains of the plains which Pureplain City had been named for started out, and he was back on the Route which he had crossed previously crossed to get here.
Route 1
Route 1 is a long, flat and grassy route where most trainers get their first taste of the world. From Pureplain you can see the hills of Highhill in the distance, from Highhill the scrapers of Pureplain looms in the distance, the start of the Silent Forest surrounding the Silent Shrine on the side. There is a larger road, a main road used for travelling in and out of Pureplain City, there are plenty of more mature travellers taking that road to get from point A to point B. But, young Pokémon Trainers usually much rather use the smaller path going out into the grassland. This is some remnants of the plain which Pureplain City was named after, although most of that plain is now swallowed up by buildings of people living around here. Small roads branch out, leading to different places where some individuals have made their houses.
There are many safe roads, yet take one step out of it and you’re immediately in tall grass, where you can already see many first-time Pokémon Trainers are challenging their first Pokémon. One could expect Pokémon Trainers to be searching for Pokémon either in the tall grass or the forest on the side, and also battling one another as they can. From the looks of it, there are plenty of young trainers sporting freshly caught Pidgeys and Rattatas. As one approaches Highhill Town, the forest becomes more plentiful, as beyond the town lies a forest.
Through the route also runs an indent, a drain surrounded by walls, seemingly made for the water to gather up inside it. It’s currently dry, whatever cause of that might be. Some trainers appear to be having fun battling inside it, and they’re running around challenging one another inside it. But, the drain also raised interesting questions about what kind of Pokémon or things one might find should one explore it further.
And then, Rory saw someone, quickly looking towards the person. Could that be Erza and Eevee?
… No, it can’t, because Erza hadn’t left Pureplain City yet. Also, it had been hard to see on a distance, but this boy was considerably shorter than Erza. Aaand, he was heading right over.
‘YOU!’ Called the young boy.
‘You look weak! Let’s fight!’
And in front of him dashed a little purple rat that had previously been on his shoulder.
‘RATTATA!’
Pokédex Entry #19 – Rattata, the Mouse Pokémon. It has impressive vitality that allows it to live anywhere there is food. It scavenges for food all day and reproduces quickly. Very cautious, it’s ears listen for trouble even when asleep. It’s teeth never stop growing, it will gnaw on things to keep their size in check.

Welp, now that happened. However, this Rattata is not top percentage and therefore does not stand a chance against Spheal. Rory’s free to just win and then decide on what to do next, on the expanse that is Route 1.
1. Find Pokémon. There’s searching in the tall grass, and there’s the forest in the left, then there’s the drain… 2. Train Pokémon. With this command, we can jump ahead in time and skip posting about grinding. 3. Seek trainers. There should be some here and there. Note, some may challenge you, regardless. 4. Talk. There’s plenty of young trainers around. There are also houses and travellers. Maybe seek answers to any burning questions you have. 5. Move along. Move along normally, letting any events that may come happen naturally. 6. Hurry along. Intentionally avoid confrontations and try to get safely to the next destination. 7. Specify. If you specify what you want to do, the GM will take it into account and tell the result. 8. Trigger random event. Force the GM to use his imagination to make a scenario for you. 9. Area Specific: Descend. There’s a drain. The kids are having a little tournament in it, challenging themselves to fight in a tight area. Perhaps you’d like to try becoming king of the drain? Or maybe you’d just like to explore it.

‘Oh, okay. Good luck!’ He simply smiled and let Claire charge on after being interrupted.
So, Claire entered the building… and the first thing that hit her was the smell of hard effort, likely to cause anyone used to the more proper class to flee in terror. This… there was no air-conditioning here, yet it very much felt like she had walked into a real gym, with all the efforts that went into that. Pokémon and people alike were lifting barbells, punching punching bags and sparring hard with different martial arts. Black Belt, Battle Girls and their Pokémon were competing both against one another and against their trainers. Over there a human was trying to wrestle a Machoke, without much success, being easily thrown around and crashing into the ground. It looked painful.
It quickly became apparent that the maintenance outside was because the residents of the gym were constantly hurting their own buildings. The roof where the chains were attached audibly croaked as the punching bags took super-human hits, there were cracks all over the walls in places where opponents had been thrown, many of the walls were built out of considerably different materials, likely added later in order to keep the building from completely crashing down on the inhabitants. The occasional screams were quickly confirmed to be either just trainers or Pokémon shouting out before a strike… or crying out in pain after one.
And… so many Pokémon. Yet, there seemed to be no distinction between Pokémon and person, each living being in here collectively tried to become stronger by themselves, using the same machines, using the same methods, and sparring against one another without bothering to think about genetic makeup. Only that the Pokémon were way stronger than the humans.
There were Machops here and there, helping with bringing the larger Pokémon their equipment or training themselves, they seemed to be the helpers of the Gym, mostly.
Pokédex Entry #66 – Machop, the Superpower Pokémon. A Machop is built up by a special muscle, which despite its size makes it stronger than 100 humans and will never tire no matter how much it strains itself. This combined with their general availability makes them a common choice for helping humans with manual labours.
Pokédex Entry #67 – Machoke, the Superpower Pokémon. It is known to help people with extremely tough labour in order to toughen up. It’s muscles is as hard as steel, yet it still needs to wear a belt which holds back its energy in order to not tear itself apart with its own strength. It can pick up a truck with one hand, and will never get tired.
While there were plenty of Machokes, there was only one Machamp, standing looking over the room with pride in his face, four arms flexing.
Pokédex Entry #68 – Machamp, the Superpower Pokémon. It is known as the Pokémon that can supposedly throw 1000 punches in two seconds. Machamps are masters of many martial arts, and with four arms it can strike in many unexpected angles. They’re very quick to action, don’t think before they leap, and are absolutely terrible at any form of delicate task.
There were Hitmonlees kicking and Hitmonchans punching punching bags from different directions…
Pokédex Entry #106 – Hitmonlee, the Kicking Pokémon. It’s legs can stretch and contract for considerable range and its balance means it can kick from any position. After a battle, it rubs its legs to relax the muscles and release the tension. It runs smoothly with long, loping strides.
Pokédex Entry #107 – Hitmonchan, the Punching Pokémon. Said to possess the spirit of a boxer working for world champion. While seemingly resting it can throw punches so quick the eye cannot catch them, and their arms spin when punching to increase power. Trainers need to beware that they need to take pauses to rest every three minutes while fighting.
Medichams either sitting and meditating, some with their trainers, others were joining into sparring.
Pokédex Entry #308 – Medicham, the Meditate Pokémon. A Medicham has, through starvation, meditation and yoga, sharpened its mind to see the auras of others. It has a sixth sense which predicts the movements of its enemies, and fights with graceful dance-like steps to avoid attacks. It can hide its presence by merging itself with fields or mountains.
Throhs and Sawks were both active in the sparring sections, or just training to become more powerful…
Pokédex Entry #538 – Throh, the Judo Pokémon. It is known to make belts for itself out of vines, and increase in power when said belts are tightened. When it encounters a foe larger than itself, a Throh is filled with an irresistible desire to throw its foe. It changes belts as it gets stronger. In the wild, they always travel in packs of five.
Pokédex Entry #539 – Sawk, the Karate Pokémon. They train day and night without sleep in the mountains, seeking the most powerful Karate Chop. Tying their belts make them more fired up and therefore somehow stronger, disturbing a fired-up Sawk in the midst of training will launch them into an insatiable rage against their disturber.
A single Pangoro was walking through the gym, sometimes bellowing at random people or Pokémon who were looking tired, himself seeming to be some sort of motivational figure, as whoever was yelled at immediately redoubled their efforts while the Pangoro wandered on.
Pokédex Entry #675 – Pangoro, the Daunting Pokémon. It is known to be violent in battle, raging forth at enemies like in a berserker rage. To earn the respect of a Pangoro, a trainer will need to learn to fist-fight with it occasionally. It is, however, quite kind-hearted and will defend companions or the weak in the face of oppressors. Twitches in its bamboo leaf somehow allows it to predict an opponent’s moves.
And that… was the scene which Claire was presented with.
Then a Battle Girl saw Claire, before turning and yelling across the room.
‘BOSS! CHALLENGER!’ She shouted out, and… most didn’t even bother noticing, but the people in the sparring-area made nods to one another and cleared the area… leaving the one that had been floored by the Machoke. He slowly rose, a wide grin spreading over his face. He had slightly spiky orange head on the top of his head, but wore nothing on the top of his body, showing off an amazingly muscular body while his eyes focused forward, full of intent and battle-lust while stretching his muscles a bit after the battle, waving them about a bit.
‘Hahaha… EXCELLENT! I was just about getting bored!’ He shouted out, despite the fact he had totally been failing to match up to the Machoke earlier.
He was suddenly handed a coat by a random Machop, and he took it. So, he was now currently trying to pull on a brown coat, stretch his right arm and glare eagerly at Claire all at the same time…
‘So, challenger! I am Hector, Gym Leader of Redcoast City! Prepare for an epic battle that is going to blow your mind to-’ Then his expression twitched in absolute regret and he turned around and shouted.
‘GAAAAAAAAH! WHY AM I MINOR LEAGUE!? If I was Major League, I could have shown all of my amazing moves and stun all the challengers and show what I’m really made of, all those Major League battles that I am missing, all those epic displays of physical prowess and tactical might…! And I’m left with…!’ He gasped out, glaring at the wall, and it felt like every other person and Pokémon in the gym did one big collective sigh. ‘I-I’ll be biding my time… One day or another, a Major League Gym Leader’s going to retire… And then I’ll be right there… I’ll get that spot… HEAR THAT, DORIAN!? RETIRE ALREADY, OLD MAN!’
He spun around eventually, faced Claire, and pointed at her.
‘ANYWAYS! YOU! BEGINNER TRAINER!’ He shouted out towards her. He took a moment, and managed to regain his smile, getting ready for what he’d be doing. His smile contained none of the resentment that had been going through him before, showing that he was ready to do his job as he was meant to do. Still, that was hard to forget. ‘How many Pokémon do you have?’ He began with in a mighty confident tone, checking her.
That is, if Claire hadn’t gone off on her own somewhere, just because.
‘Oooh. Johanna’s daughter’s making her trip now, huh? Well, how wonderful. Good luck with that~!’ Lesley grinned a bit at that relation being confirmed, then looked at her again as Erika started asking for other things. ‘Hm, actually catching a dragon, eh.’ Lesley looked away from Erika, out over the hills as she started thinking, bringing one hand up to scratch her cheeks a bit. Judging by her expression, she looked fairly unsure about something.
‘There’s some in the bottom of Wet Caverns, but it’s pretty dangerous down there. There are lots at Dragon Lake, but of course, we’re protecting those. So, uh. There are some in Mt. Strength or Mt. Allmass, though they’re very rare there. Otherwise, Lonely Island or Victory Road…’ Then she frowned, realizing how far away those are. She aimed an analyzing look over Erika and the other two, Joshua and Ewan still looking around inspecting the sights as well as paying attention to the conversation. Then… she smirked.
‘Tell ya what.’ Lesley crossed her arms and looked at Erika with excitement, her tone changing drastically. ‘If ya can convince a lower-leveled dragon to come with ya on its own volition, no Pokéball involved, then I’ll let ya take a dragon off Dragon Roost.’ She then raised her own chin a little in happy confidence, looking at Erika with a great smile.
‘But ya sure about that? Young dragons don’t evolve for a long, long time, and needs lots of love and maintanence, but aren’t actually super-effective against any other type. @TheIrishJJ Ah. Um. Erza actually stayed in Pureplain City to catch the different wild Pokémon that could be found. But, perhaps Rory missed that and went out to Route 1, anyways? Is this a "looking for trainer" command? Because, in any other situation, I decide if he sees someone with a Pokémon jumping off their shoulder or so. Unless you meant that to actually be Erza, in which case... well, he's not in Route 1. I'm just checking for your intention, here.

@Pikmin Eye Ah, right. I did explain it a while back, but, eh. So, now I've written a part about Quick-Catching / Quick-Fighting in the opening OOC post! All for anytime someone wants to remember!
Essentially, you just declare your intention to catch a Pokémon / defeat a trainer, you tell me what strategies you use, and then I tell you the result and how much damage you took without needing to drag it out into 2-4 post-exchanges. To be used if you'd like to skip a minor battle OOC but still want to do it IC or want a Pokémon but don't want to take the time to properly fight it, heh. Won't always be allowed, of course.

@Project I will mention that everyone has quick-catching privileges, it's just that nobody has used them. I explained that at some point in the past. But, okay, you're just going to go for WHATEVER you might find on Route 1, eh? Alright, then. Let's see how that goes. Teh-heh. Nicely posted.
