As one might expect of the perfectly poised CEO of Covington Industries, Violet’s demeanor was one of stoic impassiveness as she stepped aboard The Starfire Ascendent. Her piercing gaze swept across the luxury liner’s elaborate interior, taking in every aspect of its opulent impracticality, while simultaneously reviewing the updates on CI’s partnership with Mishima Motors and acquisition of Cygnus Cybersystems as they scrolled across the HUD perceptible only to herself. Others might have been awed by, or at least appreciative of, the aesthetic beauty of the liner, its myriad sights, sounds, and scents, but, as usual, Violet showed no outward emotion at the sight, not even an approving smirk. This was a business trip, not a vacation. She hadn’t agreed to come here for rest and relaxation, but to personally secure an important business opportunity, and she would participate in the ongoing frivolities only as much as was absolutely necessary.

As such, the heiress had consented to wear a deep purple gown, one that, while certainly refined, was far less ostentatious than the attire worn by most of the other passengers, its appearance that of no-nonsense practicality infused with subtle hints of elegant style. When the AI concierge greeted her, Violet’s only response was a small nod, her visage as dispassionate as ever. Indeed, even since before she had entered her teens, Violet had been seen as the stereotypical “cool beauty”, or “aloof dark-haired girl”, and it was an image she continued to flawlessly maintain.

The allure of a month-long voyage of anonymous revelry may have appealed to many, but Violet was not among their number. She intended for her stay aboard the liner to be a short one, the briefer the better, so there was no need to bring copious quantities of luggage, nor did she see any reason to investigate the various ostensibly enticing items on the holographic menu she had been presented with. Instead, Violet merely strode up to the escort drone and waited for it to begin guiding her to her quarters. As the pair passed by the mask station, the CEO procured a featureless, white mask, similar to the one worn by the nearby steward. Like theirs, it completely obscured the heiress’s cold countenance, while also being nondescript enough to hopefully avoid much commentary or attention from any of her fellow passengers. She may have had little desire to partake of the whimsical festivities the other passengers seemed to have fully embraced, but she had to concede that the anonymity it provided was rather welcome.

As was usually the case, Violet wished to interact with others only as needed. Socializing was almost always a waste of time, unless, of course, a lucrative deal of some sort was being discussed. She had no need of companions, and even less of friends. In fact, aside from her trusted pilot, she had arrived aboard the liner without even a single aid, fully convinced that she was more than capable of handling anything that might come her way, and that included the potential threat of violence. While her pilot was certainly a capable combatant, Violet had concluded that the somewhat unnerving woman would be better suited to guarding their ship against any potential saboteurs, rather than serving as a bodyguard for herself. After all, if someone did wish to cause her harm, well, they were more than welcome to try…

Damn, everything’s happening so fast…
-Nyxia Torrentia, Neon Tempest of the Ultraviolet Rainbow

Nyxia merely rolled her eyes and gave voice to an exasperated sigh when Shuuko began her lengthy explanation for why she thought they should remain with Roche. Fortunately, a new development forced the “High Priestess” to stop her annoying ramble mid-syllable. Unfortunately, said development was an energy beam lancing towards Earthshaker from somewhere above the school building. Moving with lightning swiftness, Shuuko transformed and bodychecked the Rule Keeper out of the beam’s path, only to take the shot in her own shoulder, all while a wide-eyed Nyxia looked on. Yet it didn’t take long for the Neon Tempest to recover enough to voice her thoughts on these events.

“Fucking moron…” she hissed through clenched teeth.

While the attack had certainly been underhanded, Nyxia was positive Earthshaker could have not only easily withstood it, but also absorbed it to grant even more power to her impending strike. The same very obviously couldn’t be said for Shatterscape, and even if it was just another of the gauntleted girl’s expendable bodies that had nearly gotten its arm blown off, her rash actions had placed both herself and Roche badly out of position. Sure, the enraged Shatterscape was now launching herself at the pink-haired light girl as she and her parter zipped away on a flying shield, with an equally engaged Roche hard on their heels, but what was the point? Their foes were fleeing like the pathetic cowards they were, and thanks to Shuuko’s stupidity, Earthshaker had been deprived of her one chance to get a telling blow in. And now they wanted to chase these idiots across the city, when there were Miseria just waiting to be turned into paste?

“Damn it to fucking hell…”

With a powerful leap, Nyxia began following her two teammates, although she was careful to keep a fair distance back. These light girls had proven to be a sneaky pair, and she preferred not to rush headlong into another one of their annoying traps. Not only that, but as she bounded through the crisp autumn air, the Neon Tempest could sense the presence of another magical girl approaching, and an exceptionally strong one at that.

She only hoped that, if and when they made their presence known, they’d be considerably less annoying than the pair being chased…

Finally, some good news! Uh, are you okay, Cereza?
-Ashley Avenir

When Ashley’s finder pulse struck the behemoth’s palm, she gave a small nod as she took note of the clearly delineated humanoid form at the center of the giant creature’s chest. The location of its weak point (and likely its power source as well) was honestly to be expected, especially considering the same was true of The Diver, but it was still nice to have positive confirmation. That said, eliminating the crimson-skinned monstrosity was not their primary concern. Thus, the Knight of Tomorrow was pleasantly surprised when Mika informed her of a second possible weak point in the mech’s otherwise impregnable defenses. “Roger,” Ashley acknowledged over her comm. “I’ll see what I can do.”

Yet, before she could capitalize on this new information, a blast of prismatic colors and cacophonous sounds filled the chamber. Even as spots flashed before her eyes, Ashley saw Cereza slowly aim an arrow at Cerise. Crap…! the high-tech heroine swore as she placed herself in front of the targeted miko, her glowing shield raised to block the incoming, mystically infused shot. Even as she did so, the Knight of Tomorrow called over her shoulder, “Cerise! See if you can dispel the enchantment on that mech!” Obviously, the apparently mind-controlled Cereza was also a concern, but said mental control seemed to be caused by their primary target in all this- Morning Dragon Fruit. Ashley was hopeful that Cerise’s sister would return to her normal self once the strange machine entity had been neutralized, and said entity currently resided within Finn’s mech…

Even as she spoke, and indeed, even before she’d raised her shield, the Knight of Tomorrow had begun charging up another firing solution, one tailor-made to exploit the machine’s newly discovered vulnerability. Once more, the tip of her techno-wand seethed with pent-up power, and upon confirming that Cerise had disenchanted her target, Ashley would take aim and disgorge that power in a radiant beam. Locking onto a target point within the mech’s cockpit itself, upon reaching it, the lance of incandescent energy would burst apart in a brilliant, neon green detonation.

Things seemed to be going well. Alexander had been rescued, the immediate danger had passed, and the magical boy’s animal friends were being especially adorable. Sadly, that brief period of tranquility was shattered by Lily’s horrified scream, one echoed by Connie when she saw what had prompted it. She didn’t know Chloe very well, but what the girl was doing to their captive foe was beyond sadistic...

“Mother’s Mantel…” Gaia gasped, before swiftly moving to position herself in front of her now hyperventilating best friend and wrapping the masked maiden in a tight hug. “It’s okay, Connie. It’s okay,” she reassured the shuddering girl in a soothing tone, before covering her ears in an attempt to block out Caterpillar’s tortured cries. It took some time, but eventually, Connie’s shuddering started to subside and her panicked breathing began to slow. “That’s it, little sister,” Gaia told her with a reassuring smile. “Deep breaths. In and out. Just focus on my voice,” she continued as she gently ran her fingers through her whimpering friend’s hair. “I’m right here. Everything’s going to be okay.”

“I-I-It w-was s-so h-h-horrible, M-Mia…” Connie sobbed, her shaky voice filled with anguish as she pressed her face into her friend’s chest.

“I know, little sister,” Gaia replied somberly. “I know…”

By that point, Caterpillar’s shrieks of agony had quieted, replaced by an unnerving monotone, calmly relaying information. This was followed by an enraged Lily vowing to make Chloe pay for committing such a vile act. Yet, their altercation wasn’t nearly as important to Gaia as Connie’s wellbeing, and she firmly intended to remain with her friend until she was certain the timid girl had fully recovered. Thus, it came as something of a surprise when she heard the newly restored tree’s sagely voice call out to her.

Casting her gaze in its direction, while continuing to hold Connie close, the verdant maiden saw that a face had formed on the trunk of the great tree. When it offered to journey with them and assist in their efforts, the nymph-like young woman treated it to a warm smile. “We would be greatly blessed, indeed, if you were to grace us with your accompaniment and generously bestow upon us your wise counsel, my venerable friend,” Gaia told the great tree. Then, taking the now mostly recovered Connie by the hand, she gracefully glided over to the tree and gently placed her other hand upon its drooping branch. “And the gift of mobility is one that I would be only too elated to bestow,” she told the tree, her emerald hand glowing with mystic power as she caressed the branch. Within moments, the great tree’s roots would twist together into a pair of mighty legs, enabling it to travel with the motley group as they continued their journey. “Now then, my venerable friend, would you be so kind as to lead us to the Queen of Heart’s castle?” the botanical beauty inquired.

Then she heard Alexander inquire about a Nexus and its Guardian…

“Yes, I am familiar with the Guardian,” Gaia replied, being careful not to reveal too much. “And I believe I should be able to arrange a meeting with them, once we return to Penrose. Why do you ask, if I may be so bold?”

As MDP led her whimsical procession across the desert sands, she was blissfuly oblivious to Mac’s (and not Ashley’s) reappearance atop a now tamed Chicken Ultra Crushing Mega, or to the normally unflappable Rachel’s little tsundere moment with a monster that was partnered with one of The Beacon’s most hated enemies. Instead, she was fully absorbed with playfully twirling her wand like a baton as she skipped along, while singing a silly marching song. “Let’s havey wavey a paradey wadey today~! Let’s havey wavey a paradey wadey, horaaaay~! It’s super duper funsie wunsie and nothing wothing will go wrong~! Not when Mister Wister Sunny Wunny singy wingies along~! (giggle~!)”

Indeed, the smiling sun which warmed the desert sands had begun harmonizing with the Princess of Dreams, helping her ensure that her little army walked with rhythm. That way, if there was a giant sand worm in this desert, they would be sure to attract it, and then make friends with it. Needless to say, with all this going on, MDP didn’t hear Rachel’s warning about the approach of potential hostiles, but it wasn’t long before she caught sight of the strange cactus creatures as they shuffled over the dunes. Also unsurprisingly, the sight filled the childish girl not with alarm, but with joy. “Oooh~! New friendy wendies~! Yaaay~!” MDP cheered, doing a cartwheel and jumping into the air. “Aww~! And, like, they look sooo super duper adorable worable, too~! (giggle!)”

Your insult game needs some work, bitch.
-Nyxia Torrentia, Neon Tempest of the Ultraviolet Rainbow

Nyxia whirled around when she felt the ball of crumpled paper hit her exposed back. It wasn’t painful, of course, or even annoying, but the unexpected nature of it was more than a little alarming. Yet, all she found beyond the window was that one pink-haired light girl with the shields. As the girl made her jokes and revealed her crude banner, the Neon Tempest couldn’t help but smirk in amusement. Did this moron really think such lame taunts would actually accomplish anything?

“Yeah, most of the losers in this club are pretty pathetic,” Nyxia agreed. “But at least we spend our time killing Miseria, rather than pulling infantile pranks, so I guess that makes you even more pathetic, huh?”

Shuuko then went on to state the obvious, before volunteering to remain behind to deal with the uninvited visitor, practically proving said visitor’s point about the club’s lack of competency. Thankfully, Roche was having none of that, the enraged Rule Keeper swiftly moving to engage the light girl in combat with a ferocity that made the Neon Tempest’s eyes momentarily widen.

“Come on,” Nyxia told Shuuko. “‘Shaker can handle this bitch. Let’s go kick some Miseria’s shit in!”

It was rather unfortunate that she would have to look after the “High Priestess” once again, but the Neon Tempest was confident that her partner would rejoin them soon enough. After all, if any of their number was going to win a one on one fight with another magical girl, it was Earthshaker.
Since Violet’s first post in her original RP had her meeting with the CEOs of various other megacorps, along with foreign heads of state, I can easily see her meeting with Cyrus to discuss a potential business venture. Covington Industries probably wouldn’t need his funding, but they could seek his permission/partnership in exploiting some lucrative location in his territory. Or they could simply wish to be his nation’s official supplier of certain technologies/weapons.

If we assume CI has an interplanetary reach, then Violet hiring a skilled pilot like Darya would be very likely, perhaps with the hazardous job of charting new interstellar trade routes, transporting cargo through a volatile region of space, etc. (a vacancy having opened after one of the previous pilots assigned that task quit due to the stress/danger).

As for Violet’s transformations into her childish magical girl form, I think that would be far more taxing on Violet herself as she tries to maintain her double life, since she would have a VERY vested interest in ensuring that no one learns that she and MDP are one and the same. On a related topic, it might be best if Violet is actually the first magical girl in the setting (or one of the first), with Sugar Pink simply being the heroine of a fictional show Violet secretly loved, rather than an actual person that first appeared 20 years prior. In fact, it might be cool if Violet’s first transformation happens at the start of the RP, in response to a monster attack of some sort (probably the first of its kind).

Teleporting is such a bullshit move…
-Ashley Avenir

On one hand, Ashley’s attacks seemed to have inflicted at least moderate damage on the behemoth, but on the other, her strategy of taking shelter beneath the mech didn’t work out nearly as well as she’d hoped. In a crackle of enchanted electricity, it simply teleported itself to the other side of the chamber, leaving the Knight of Tomorrow at the mercy of the crimson giant’s massive fists. “Damn it…” she hissed through gritted teeth, even as the Timekeeper’s taunts made her want to pry the vindictive young esper out of his annoying toy and use her techno-wand to beat him senseless. However, the high-tech heroine forced those rage-fueled thoughts aside, and instead raised her instrument to point at the enormous hand that threatened to close around her. Leaping backwards, she fired an energy bolt into the behemoth’s wall-like palm, even as she allowed Cerise’s melody to pull her even further out of harm’s way. “Thanks,” she told the crimson-haired miko, before firing another powered up bolt at the looming titan’s center of mass.

However, this wasn’t an attack, but a finder pulse, intended to locate the creature’s weak point. It was only by directing an attack there that they would have any chance of inflicting meaningful harm on it. Yet, even so, Ashley ideally wanted to keep the giant in the fight. It had been made abundantly clear that no melody or weapon her team possessed could so much as scratch Finn’s accursed mech, with only the giant’s own fists proving effective. If they were to eliminate the enormous creature now, she no idea how they would ever stop the mech, the mech that, incidentally, now housed the very target of the operation itself. It’s times like these that make me wish Valkyrie was still around… the Knight of Tomorrow reflected. Indeed, the MIA agent’s gauss sniper rifle would very likely have made short work of the mech’s enchanted armor, or at the very least, would’ve done more damage than anything the high-tech heroine, or any member of her team, was capable of. As it was, they would have to figure out some other way of eliminating the annoying machine, ideally without wasting much more of their precious time…

@TideTypedWrong Just to let you know, discord auto breaks image links after roughly 24 hours, so you might want to find another place to host them, like the guild itself.

@Dark Light LMFAO at your description of Violet.

@Dark Light It's a lot bit vague, yeah. Do you have a character you want to play, too?

@Ponn I love Violet and her unicorn vomit alter ego. One of the best concepts I've seen on this site for a while. What rp / story was she originally conceived for?

Thanks! I really enjoyed writing her.

This is the RP she originally appeared in- roleplayerguild.com/posts/5517822
