As Tash let her story unfold, Alcander's jaw become more and more slack. His brow raised and he wasn't entirely sure if he had heard correctly. He was going to go up to his room and study his Hindi, but now he'd be thinking of this all day. It kinda got him crestfallen. Alcander had always been a man of doing and action rather than meaningless words, and here was an actual disaster that he would love to aid in and...Dominic was the better choice.
He suddenly felt a surge of selfish guilt as well. These kids out there hurt, and he felt sorry for himself. He took a deep breath, and let it out. He wished them the best, and Dominic too. He casually turned back around and reached into his shirt to kiss the cross upon his necklace. He couldn't really help he knew, but again, the thought would be stuck in his head all day now. He dearly wished he could help somehow. But he'd found out the hard way on more than one occasion that sometimes, you could be a burden even with a willingness to serve.
Alcander shrugged to himself, and decided that he wouldn't stick around to interrupt or intervene. He got up and put his plate and utensils in the correct area to get cleaned, and ran a hand through his black hair one final time. Owen and Murphy were conversing, and Tash spoke with Dominic. The sweet Ananya had left, and apparently Areum had as well. He'd need to figure out what to do with his day, and he made his way towards the dining room exit as he thought on that. "'Scuse me" he said casually as he waded past his hotel mates.
He grinned when Shiver laughed. At least he could be the funny guy. The two ladies had their conversation, and Tia's raised voice drew his eyes to the two as they talked. They did look alike he noted. If he wasn't so hungry he'd have been smiling at their conversation. It was endearing to see Tia like that, and Shiver was really cool so far.
He found Miles shaking his hand, and Ro'kun gave him the nod of a comrade and dude. "Yeah my hero name i-holy shit..." he said, looking at Jess bring in food. It was as much food as he had brought in! Speaking of which... He grabbed one of the 4 deli sandwiches he'd smuggled and chomped down on it heartily. He swallowed a bit and continued. "Sorry, my Hero name is Red Strike. Mainly because I wear red and I look like a blurr when I hit some punk bitch who deserves it." He chomped down some more. This was really good, though it needed some mustard. He coughed at Mile's suggestive question, acting almost identical of Shiver coughing from his premature (fire) burst.
He chugged some soda. In fact, he chugged the entire can, and broke it from top to bottom with a hand. "My butt is for paying customers. I'm just being polite, even if Shiver is kick ass." he said. He took another bite of his sandwich. Where were they? Oh. "What's your hero name?" he asked with a full mouth. He covered it with a hand away from the ladies though. He wasn't a total pig. Only most of the time.
The young man popped up when Tia and Miles entered the room. He gave a salute, puffing his chest out. "Ma'am." he said seriously enough for it to be an obvious joke. He grinned, and gave them a nod. "Sup guys. I was worried you were hurt Tia. Yeah, me and Shiver have already gotten to know each other a bit. I make friends like that-" He snapped his fingers, and a burst of flame appeared above his hand fierce enough for him to blink in surprise. "Whoa...did not mean for that to happen."
He cleared his throat, and extended a hand to shake Miles' hand. "Yeah I don't think so either. I've mainly been eating and kicking ass since I got here, so things have been pretty hectic."
