I never notice someone's post count until I see (ignore post count) and then I totally look at it, out of habit and curiosity.

Current Projects/Freelance work

  • I am a voice talent and script writer for Faerun History
  • I have a much smaller personal Youtube channel that I use to make videos on various subjects. Only been making videos for 2 years, but it's growing!
  • I'm the host of a Science Fiction & Fantasy Podcast where I interview authors of the genre.

Interests (Includes but is not limited to)

  • Writing/Reading (Love writing and I own too many books)
  • Video Games (Been a gamer for close to 23 years now)
  • Working Out/Martial Arts (Wing Chun/Oyama Karate mostly. Some historical swordplay as well.)
  • History (Military History is my specialty)
  • Zoology
  • Art (Mostly Illustrations. Used to be good. Am picking it back up)
  • Voice Acting/Singing
  • Tabletop Gaming (Started late in the game. Been at it for 3 years. I was the kid who bought the monster manuals and D&D books just for the lore for the longest time. I've played 3.5e, 5e, Star Wars D20, Edge of the Empire, PF, and PF2.)
  • Weaponry of all kinds
  • Anime (mostly action/shonen. DBZ & YYH being my favorites)
  • Movies (Action/War/Drama films being my go-to)
  • Music (Rock of all kinds, as well as historical folk songs, sea shanties, pub songs, a bit of classical music, etc)
  • Guitar (am learning to play, but being left handed makes it challenging)
  • There's more but if you care enough you can PM me :P

Roleplay F.A.Q.

  • Fantasy, Sci Fi, and Historical are my genres. Fantasy being my favorite and Sci Fi/Historical being close seconds.
  • Advanced / Nation / 1x1 / Casual (only in certain circumstances)
  • I generally write at the 'Advanced Level' meaning 4+ Paragraphs with good grammar.
  • I am usually busy with many projects and RPs, but if you wish to do a 1x1 with me, you'll need to present your case. Those I already do it with have my trust as a Roleplayer.
  • I love many, many fictional universes so me trying to list them all is an effort in futility!

This was a ramshackle base of operations if you had ever seen one. Tiles once meant to give these sealed corridors a pristine look already practically falling off from age and misuse. Idly you view a worn symbol of the Brazen Eagles across the next archway, a once infamous military arm of the Hegemony accused of high treason three decades earlier. It betrays the previous use of this station, meaning it was once a military installation. As you approach the hanger bay, you see two surly looking pirates with outdated but still very deadly submachine guns framing the door from both sides. The left one yanks his head to indicate you should keep moving.

Further in there's machines made to fix other machines and manned lifts to be used to help repair Starships. There's five men from what you can see standing under the nose of the Stardancer, two of them reclining on the foothills of a veritable mountain of crates. They're smoking a substance you can't quite get a good gauge on. The other three are more notable. A younger man, very much a pilot is standing there with his hand on the Stardancer's hull, admiring it. A towering Xenos with what look to be tentacles for hair crossing his four arms and frowning with his lipless mouth. In the center is the man you were told to contact based on a look one could hardly forget. His smile is crooked, both in manner and from some mistreatment of his face. One could likely imagine the Xenos or one of his kind having remade it with a mightly blow. He wears a jacket and worn privateer clothes, smiling impishly when he views the newcomer as they approach, rubbing his hands.

"Ah, there you are! My you're a desperate one aren't you?" He utters with a hissing lisp. "I like that in a man/woman, don't worry. You better be glad we've made this deal with you. Rico here never got the chance to fly the ship. Too bad for him, he still has to pay off his debt to the Blackcloaks..."

You three find yourselves in the Hanger of this ruined military installation after getting sent here by your contact, Schill. Whoever posts first gets there first, who posts second gets there second, and the third one is the last to get there. Consider this first job the prologue, but you still have a myriad of options. Obviously, you have the option to ask further about this pilot and perhaps try to get him on your new 'crew' or at least get him to join the mission with you. Or you can ask further on the installation, the pirates, your job, etc. The game has officially begun!
@Penny After I get off my shift tonight I will give everything another once over and then I'll make the first post. After that you can post and/or roll!

Black Market Runners

The opportunity fell into your laps like divine providence, giving you a glimpse into that life you always wanted. More importantly, pulling this off will drag you out of the shithole predicament you find yourself in. Some Pirate leader by the name of Marco Gaebril got himself captured by the lone Hegemony presence in this backwater system. You might have heard of him from some of the comm frequencies, the authorities announcing they nabbed the commander of the Blackcloak Brigands. In their desperation, the pirates offered their fastest Stardancer ship to anyone who could smuggle their leader out of the Space Station before he is executed. This is where you come into the story, stranger. It's an easy job if you're as good as you say you are. The prisoner's guards have already been bribed to keep their eyes peeled in the opposite direction for a few key hours, so you don't need to go in guns blazing like you're making an extraction. Go in, get him, and somehow get him through security and into the hanger. After that, if you can get him back to the pirate's den, the ship is yours. They'll even throw you a smuggler's contract your way.
Speechless? I don't blame you. Jobs like this don't just fall out of deep space you know...

-Schill Mcfee, Black Market Trader.

DM Guidelines

  • Black Market Runners (bar the prologue) will be extremely open world for you three. You make the decisions, you take the risks, you set the goals. My role is to respond with the world and give voices to the NPC's around you.
  • This means you are to ask me anything and everything in the OOC concerning what you want to do or if you need any more information, unless you want to keep it from your fellow crew mates then by all means DM me. The OOC is essentially where you ask a DM something out of character for clarification or before you make a decision.
  • Usually the answer will be 'yes' but if you're not sure you can roll, ask me in the OOC as well. If I am not immediately available, you can make your post and roll later when I get online, and we can add it to your post.
  • If you attempt to assist someone, tag me in the OOC and tell me you are. Like [@Poo] can I/I will assist [@Teammember].
  • In your posts, you will make any regular RP post, and if you are to roll you put the dice you've used (usually a d6) and the result in a single hider. You title the hider with what kind of roll you've made, like Action rolls.
  • My posts will be sectioned off into 3 areas. Italics will be my in-game descriptions, average font will be me speaking to you three out of character, and anything I bold will be a result of your rolls (or mine if I deign not to keep it to myself when necessary).
  • I'm not strict on this sort of thing, but I also expect everyone to be relatively up to date on their character sheets when it comes to credits or having 'stress' for a long period of time, etc.
@Penny Thanks^^ As I said I'm cool of people know each other by reputation or a few meetups, but not in a working relationship at least.

I am also currently making the OOC!
@Dragoknighte Once I make the OOC (which I plan on making tonight) I'll have a template for you to use on here. I just wanted everyone to have their 3 main concepts down, which to me it looks like:

  • Muscle/Scoundrel/Speaker
  • Star Dancer
  • Smuggler/Illicit Trading
@Lauder Good catch, yeah I was planning on everyone not having met yet. However I can accommodate these backstories as long as-
  • You've never pulled a real job together.
  • You don't have a ship yet (because that is the first real plot point)
  • You're taking this first job for the ship and the money, rather than any loyalty to each other. Character development and friendships occur during downtime (or banter mid-job) rather than before we begin.

But DK/Lauder can know and work together through necessity before you decide to form a crew, and Penny's character can show up.
