Corvina Rei

Time: Dusk
Location: The Nest

Corvina listened to Kenia’s words and nodded. It made sense; she was just on edge. She sighed and looked at Floopa with disappointment in her eyes. This crazy demihuman had nothing better to do than spike people drinks? Avalia wasn’t too different from Earth in that aspect. How many times had she seen the worst-case scenario in real life and tried intervening? She remained silent and turned away from Floopa without a word. She didn’t want to aggravate the demi, nor start anything. She sipped her water and scrunched her nose at the taste of it. It smelled awful. She didn’t need a superhuman sense of smell to detect it. She blanched and looked at the woman who was now pointedly ignoring her. What the hell was in the water? She pushed it away and looked at her again after Kenia had stumbled off. Cora sure hoped Kenia would be all right; though it didn't take long for Malachi to follow her. Cora sighed again and rubbed her head. What was wrong with her?

” Rei,” She began and began to shovel food in her mouth to try to dampen whatever the hell she had drunk, but trailed off. She had good tolerance due to her fallout after high school. Corvina turned and heard the name Terneus and locked eyes on the pair of Elves.

” Terneus was almost taken out! Did you see it?” Corvina watched as the Elf turned to his female fairy accomplice and shook her head. Cora felt herself become giddy at the news. She didn’t know Terneus personally but laying in the mud for what felt like a century caused her to feel ill towards the man. She had nearly lost her favorite sweatshirt because of him. It was one of her only items from Earth, and one that gave her a sense of peace and happiness.

”No, but I saw this stupid Centaur running away. Nearly took me out, the stupid horse. The crazy thing is, nobody knows who shot the arrow. Nobody could see who it was. Must’ve been some light magic.” Cora turned to Rei with a grin and nudged him.

”Terneus, huh?” Rei said, his amber eyes seeming to glisten at the new information. ” Not surprising, with how he acts I’m surprised he’s lived this long, at least in this world. That and he owes me amas for my sweater.”

”It appears as if someone is doing the dirty work. Pompous git,” She mimicked an English accent with surprising accuracy and giggled. Corvina turned to Floopa and stared her down. ” Water, please, and nothing else in there you crazy woman.” Cora laughed at the end and turned to see an Elven man grabbing Kenia. Malachi quickly intervened and broke it up. She watched with wide-eyes, then felt herself beaming from ear to ear. Yes! They were kissing! Cora turned to Rei, unaware that Floopa had spiked her drink, this time much stronger than earlier. ” Well heck yes, finally!” Corvina remained quiet, beaming as she watched. ” Hot damn, they’re going to need a room. Thankfully, the Inn isn't far away,” She turned and began to drink her water and downed it quickly. She stared with confusion at it and blanched again. This water tastes like a stale … She didn’t finish that sentence and pushed it away. ” I’m going to stretch. I’ve been sitting down too long,”

”Who knew you were such a vindictive one.” He continued, finishing the last of gulp his drink. He eyed the miffed bartender, waiting for her to pull anything. She didn’t seem to do anything but the way Corvina acted was definitely out of character. It was like she was drunk and as far as he could tell, she didn’t drink any booze.

”Hey, Floopa, can you bring some beer..” He said putting on the most genuine smile he could muster, though it didn’t manage to reach his eyes. He kept his gaze on her as she disappeared into the kitchen with a huff. It would only take a minute or so before she was back. The glass dropped in front of him looked normal. He would stare at it for a moment before speaking up again.

”That’s for you!” He heightened the pitch of his voice, watching for her reaction.

“Ah, er- I can’t take the drink of my patrons.” Floopa said, unable to maintain any prolonged eye contact with Rei.

”I insist, my treat.” He threw a couple of amas, that Kenia had given both the humans, onto the table. His fake smile had faded into a frown. ”... or do you not have pride in your drinks?”

If looks could kill, Rei would have been dead five times over with the glare the bartendress shot at him. She didn’t say much else and instead downed the drink in seconds. Her movement seemed more restrained than before, but if there was anything in the drink she was trying her hardest not to show it. Were his instincts wrong? She moved away before he could make sure.

As Corvina moved off the bar stool, she bumped into a rather dismal looking demi-snake hybrid. It took all of her self control not to laugh at the woman, but the amusement was shining in her light blue eyes. The snake-woman glared crossly and hissed at her, ” Is something funny there, Elfie?”

Corvina bit her lip and felt adrenaline pulsing through her veins, though she wasn’t sure why. The energy from earlier was pulsing through her. She kept thinking of Linnet and Gale, the two worst people she had ever met. In the back of her mind, she knew that the stupid bartender had spiked her drink and god would she pay her back tomorrow. She couldn’t think of it now; this snake was sizing her up like she was a snack. ” In all my life, I’ve met snakes, some bitchy, some jealous, while others were plain horrendous, but never have I met a real-life snake. Are you going to have a hissy fit? The Garden of Eden’s the other way.”

The woman glared at her deeply. ”I bet your friend is much nicer than you. Why is he hanging out with a lowlife Elf like you? Why don’t you join me, handsome and ditch your bitchy little Elf friend?”

”Don’t talk to my friend like that!” Corvina snapped and her voice raised, causing some heads to turn. Her temper felt like it might explode. She was controlling her ability not to use pyrokinesis, though she wanted to throw a fireball at this hideous looking demihuman. ”Besides, he’s committing a sin just by associating with you. Best you cleanse yourself with holy water, Rei, as not to enter purgatory with this sinful looking snake.”

The snake woman had it and went to punch Cora but she grabbed the woman's fist. ” The first rule of self-defense? Never make an easy first move on your target. Guess you’re too busy slithering around like the snakey bitch you are to know that.” She then moved to the side and pulled the woman's arm toward her, locking her elbow and then placing her hand on the woman's neck and kneeing her in the back to drop her. Corvina then used her other knee to kick her in the face. She held the woman on her back and smirked. ”Well whoopsy daisy, look at what we got here.” Corvina taunted and kept the demi down with her foot and glared at her. Her other leg was on the women’s arms to stop her from grabbing at her feet. ” When I release you, you’re going to beat it like the lowlife you are. Got it?”

The snake watched with wide eyes and nodded, prompting Corvina to release her slowly but carefully. As the woman stood up, Cora braced herself. She watched as the woman swung at her and knocked her in the jaw, causing her to stumble backward. She glared at the woman and rubbed her face. She then cracked her neck and pulled her pepper spray out. ” Choke on this, bitch,” She sprayed the woman in the face who had been staring with confusion. She yelled out and Cora ran back to Rei’s side protectively, though with wide-eyes.

The situation unfolded before he could react. It didn’t help that some of his focus was on that shifty bartendress. Before he knew it, the situation was already over and Corvina had pepper-sprayed the serpent. There was definitely something in those drinks. He thought, assessing how violent and terrifying she had reacted.

”Corvina, are you alright?” Rei asked, glancing at his side. Though really, he should be asking that question to the snake lady. A large section of the bar was now staring in awe or amusement at the whole debacle. He patted her head in an effort to calm her down. ”Sit and relax.”

Rei placed her onto a chair before getting up himself and going over to the snake lady, who was now writhing less but sending death glares down to the sitting Corvina. He bent down next to her. ”I’ll apologize for my friend.” He said blankly, placing down a bag of amas (50 - from the bank?) beside her. ”Hopefully that will patch things up between you two.”

”The rest of you.” He said, his voice cold and prickly. ”Screw off back to your drinks and stop gawking, this is not a show.”

The beady-eyed stares began to disperse. A few clicked their tongues while others grumbled. The little that remained met his steely gaze, with them looking away after a moment of eye contact. Rei massaged the bridge of his nose as he settled back into his seat. That whole debacle drew too much attention for his taste.

Corvina stared at Rei as his words replayed in her mind. Was she all right? She didn’t know. Something in her mind was letting loose. Rei patted her head, and smiled faintly, though she eyes on the table. She found it difficult to look at him after her debacle. Her cheeks were flushed. ” I’m sorry,” Her voice was low as she watched him begin tending to the snake-demihuman. She laughed quietly when he told the rest of the bar to back off. It had surprised her that he’d come off that cold; she hadn’t expected it from him. On the other hand, he probably hadn’t thought she could act that way as well.

”I think I’ll dehydrate over ordering again. I think there was something in my drink. Are you alright? I’m so sorry, Rei,” Corvina sniffled and pulled her hood over her head as she retreated into silence and confusion. Her eyes were teary. Why had she done that? Cora glanced sideways over at Kenia and Malachi with an apologetic gleam in her eyes. She hated to think what would have happened if it had continued to blow up. What if she ruined Rei’s cover or the Elves? She bit her lip and sighed heavily into her hands, then rested them on the table.

”It’s no worry at all. Hopefully, I managed to disperse the attention of the crowd.” He said, his gaze sweeping across the room. ” Something definitely was in that drunk, I was lucky that mine wasn’t spiked..” Though he did want to reprimand her, it seemed like she was already beating herself up over it.

”Not like I want to know what side of myself would appear..” Rei unconsciously whispered to himself. Maybe there was something in his drink. He looked at Corvina. ”Ehm, we’ll take a short break before we fetch those two rambunctious elves..”

Corvina felt his gaze and knew that Rei was likely trying not to scold her. She knew Malachi would if he sobered up and had seen. She glanced at him at the mention of his drink. ”I hope not. I think we should take five and then go. I don’t want to stay here anymore in case something else happens.” She shuddered at the thought of Rei might expose if he were drugged. He seemed too peaceful, but then again, so did she and look what happened. Corvina sighed and picked her head up with a melancholic grimace.

An inconspicuous demi-human with a sly smile approached their table. Oh boy here we go. Rei sighed internally. The demi-human whistled. “I saw your fight, feisty little thing, aren't you.” He said he bowed incredulously. “I am Damon and I’ve been enchanted by you. What say you drop this downer and hang out with me tonight? ”

”Well, what say you Cora?” Rei said with an amused chuckle.

Corvina turned to look at the demihuman approaching their table and raised her eyebrows. She struggled not to laugh and managed to keep a straight face. ” I appreciate the compliment, however, I am going to stay with my ‘downer’ as you called him.” Cora eyed Rei, then turned her head to keep Malachi and Kenia in their line of vision. ” It is nice to meet you, Damon, but I must deny your prestigious offer.” Corvina eyed Rei now with a slightly panicked gleam and turned to face the demi-human without emotion. She was at her tail end of the bar and dealing with drunks. The look on her face would convey she had been in the situation before, though not with a demihuman of course. She knew how to carry herself at the moment, albeit being slightly spiked still.

”There it is, see Damon.” Rei said boorishly. ”Now please leave her alone, she’s a bit out of i-” The demihuman clasped his shoulder with a heavy hand.

“It’s not because of this downer of an elf, is it,” Damon said condescendingly. “If so I can get him out of the way.”
”I will give you exactly three seconds to get your hand off of me.” Rei said menacingly.

The demi-human let out a pointed, bellowing laugh, almost crying tears. “You really think I couldn’t handle ya half-pint-”

One… Two… Three… In a moment Rei had taken the arm on his shoulder and placed it into a reverse joint-lock. He pushed downwards at an angle, making the arm bend at an angle it shouldn’t naturally bend to. It only took a few seconds for Damon to take a knee on the beer-stained floor. The demihuman yelped in pain. Rei pressed down hard at the steepest angle he could. Three… Two… One… Then he let go. Damon collapsed onto the floor like a house of cards.

”Please leave.” Rei said, his nice words were betrayed by the cadence of his voice.

The demihuman didn’t take a second look and hurriedly scuttled away, into the crowds.

Corvina could only stare in shock at the current events, much like Rei had been staring at her debacle. She swallowed hard and then cleared her throat. Their group was attracting too much attention; they had to leave. She couldn’t help but blush with warmth inside at Rei defending her and knew she would have done the same, had someone hit on him. She shook her head at the madness that had been The Nest, and also the debacles. She rubbed her aching head and emitted a sinister growl at anyone still eyeing Rei and her. They turned away quickly.

”You sure that drink didn’t also give you a fever or something?” Rei asked, placing the palm of his hand on her forehead. ” You’re really red.”

“I don’t know,” Cora’s words fell empty as she stared at him. She felt horrible, but mainly emotionally. She touched her hand to his and gripped it gently. ” What do they do for fevers here, a potion?” Her words were quiet as not to be overheard. Then, she began to focus more on him and less on her. She mustered up enthusiasm for him and forced a smile.

”If it helps, it seems like I left a packet of paracetamol in this sweater.” He fished in his pocket and produced the paracetamol packet with four tabs left. He slid it across the table with a wink. ”Take one. It’s extra strength.”

Corvina started laughing with shock. Out of all things from Earth… ”Coming in clutch, Rei. Thank you so much. It’s funny what we still have with us. I still have my spray of course, and also my pocket knife. I never left my home without it.” She glanced around for something to drink and sighed. She didn’t trust Floopa not to give her the same spike bullshit. She tilted her head back and swallowed it whole, rather quickly. She sighed with relief and rubbed his shoulder kindly. This new world was much more tolerable with Rei. Cora wasn’t sure if her face was flushed from blushing or the fever, or perhaps a combination.

”Don’t touch that shoulder, I might put you into a wrist-lock like your lover Damon.” He joked.

”Oh no, I’m scared,” Cora joked with a mock look of fright then laughed. Her tone became serious, as did her expression when guilt and sorrow filled her eyes. ” I'll make my bullshit up to you tomorrow somehow.” She added with a grin and stood up, catching the table to steady herself. She gritted her teeth. One day, this Floopa bitch would get what was coming to her. Cora hated herself for the implications with the snake-demi. Her gut was in knots at the thought of endangering Rei, Kenia, and Malachi.

Corvina forced herself to smile as she genuinely commented, ” Good move. Maybe we should try combat and self-defense together during training.” She sighed, then glanced at Floopa to give her a glare then turned back to Rei. The woman had blatantly ignored her. ” Let’s collect our lovebirds and go. I can’t stand this place.” Her tone was sharp, a reminder of the spiked drink she had ingested earlier. Corvina waited for Rei and didn’t move. Corvina couldn’t help but wonder what idiocy might occur next if she left his side.

”Best we do. I’ll show you some Brazilian jiu-jitsu locks and throws.” Rei said, his eyes trailing over to the two elves. ”Agreed. Somehow the smell’s gotten worse.”

Corvina nodded at his comments. ” That sounds great. Thank you,” She shuddered at the smell once she took a whiff. ”Ugh, gross.” She brought Rei along with her as she strode over to Kenia and Malachi. The noise was growing louder but she didn’t want to look and find out why. Her heart rate began accelerating at the noise level rising. ” Alright lovebirds, as much as I ship you both together as a couple, we have to go. It’s getting crazy in here.” Her voice was pleasant with an urgent tone underneath it. Her eyes were gleaming with panic, though she tried to keep a relaxed expression for them.

The disappointment in the human’s face was not enough to darken Artemis’ mood. Rather, she understood. If she was able to meet her kind after not seeing then, she’d feel similar. It was in the moment she took to process Darius’ words that he began forming something in his hand. Oh no, what was going on? Was he attacking her? Did he work for the black market? Visible terror swept over her and she launched herself underwater without a word. The ball of water collided near her and she stared at it with wide eyes. She curled up under the water and wrapped her tail around herself much like a cat. After a few moments when no other attacks followed, Artemis slowly poked her head out of the water to stare at him with wide-eyes. Realizing he had just been kidding around, Artemis swallowed.

”S-S-Sorry,” Her voice quivered and she stared at his hands. ”I guess your power is hydromancy. What a convenience this is.” Her tone quipped slightly at the end. She glanced around the forest, thinking she heard movements, then stared back at him. So, what castle were you talking about earlier? And why is a human like you, on Daka Island of all places in Avalia? Surely the city would be better for you than this dreadful land.” Artemis kept her body submerged as a precaution, and her tail just below the surface. She had noticed the Demoness eyeing it, so she didn’t want to ruin her peace. She kept an eye on both of them though, her muscles taut and ready to dive back under the water if necessary.

Artemis’ eyes widened with surprise when Darius picked her up. Alarm had started, then relaxed when she knew it was him. She glanced up at his friendly smile and let out a giggle. She hadn’t been picked up like this in years. Briefly, sorrow would flash across her face then disappear again. The memories were nothing more than a reminder of her guilt. She pushed it away and focused on the situation at hand. She clutched Darius and glanced around fearful, as if a Dark Elf would appear and steal away her happiness again. It had been too long since she had been treated with kindness.

Once at the river, Artemis climbed out of Darius’ arms careful and slow. She gripped the cool grass with her toes and smiled faintly at the river. Oh Darius, you silly but delightful human.. Just wait. She turned to see Myra understood the scenario; the demon kept pointing to her legs then to the water. ”What a clever girl. Way to go, Myra.”

Artemis then cleared her throat and glanced at them both. ”May I have a moment of privacy please?” When they both turned away, Artemis then stripped the bodysuit and adjusted her seashell bra. She then limped into the water and sank into it. Once submerged, her tail began to form. There was a brief moment of pain as her torso and lower body began to shift. There were a few snaps and pops, then silence. Her tail was mainly pink iridescent, but other colors weaved through it in an iridescent pattern. She had always loved her tail. The pain didn't bother her either. She had grown used to transforming. Coupled with that and years of abuse, she had grown numb to pain.

Artemis let out a deep, relaxing sigh as her heart rate began to slow down, and her lungs began soaking in the water. She rested her head back and her arms beside her so that her tail was hanging half out of the water. Artemis, knowing the man had never seen a mermaid before, began to snicker. Though she kept in mind he was human, she wanted to prank him just a bit. Artemis lifted her tail into the water and splashed him with it, then went back to hanging her tail out of the water. It wasn’t enough to soak him or drench him, but enough for him to turn around and see. ”So, human huh?” Artemis began to laugh genuinely for the first time in years. ”Does Earth have anyone like me?” Artemis knew the answer would be no and was smirking. ”The cold doesn’t bother me, Darius, just so you know.”

Nikolaus

Time: Dusk
Location: The Pit
Interaction: @princess - Angel @FunnyGuy - Sean

Nikolaus had been jogging back towards the Pitt when Angel’s voice broke through his reverie. He sighed as he listened to her and rolled his eyes. Despite it being cliche, it was true. Hybrid humans were relatively new and rare, and Desireee would lose her mind if they knew that Operation Humanity had them. He rolled his eyes though, remaining silent so he could focus on the task at hand. He waved off her comments, unperturbed by them.

When they returned to The Pit, Nikolaus waved to Sean. He was glad to see the other Hunter was here. He had seen the weird duo Angel had mentioned while jogging. He had glanced at them for his photographic memory. Nikolaus sighed as he rubbed his face and turned back to Angel. Her devilish grin caused him to raise his eyebrows. Once she began talking, Nikolaus rolled his eyes. He ducked when she went to pat his head and looked back down at her. He was struggling not to smile and hide it.

”Okay, Lava Girl,” He alluded to her earlier commentary with a stoic expression, ”The narrative you speak of is fiction, though I guess it will help you sleep better, huh? They were crawling around you like a shark ready to bite. It doesn't matter though; they're gone.” He then addressed both of them and smirked faintly. He wondered if there were more vampires inside who wanted a quick meal. It made his blood boil. ”Let’s go see if any-” Nikolaus began speaking and turned to see a tall man leaving The Pit. He raised his eyebrows, then glanced at the others as if to say, What do we have here?

Artemis fought the urge to laugh when Myra raised her hand and let out a smile. She quickly and gently pulled the handcuffs off of her and her eyes widened with shock. Artemis stared at them as if she had never seen them prior to now and smiled with relief. She began flexing her fingers and roll her neck and shoulders. Loud pops were heard as she extended herself. Artemis let her arms down slowly, as not to startle Myra, and turned to watch her run off to the water source. For a moment, she was confused until the demon returned holding water in her hands. Despite it not being her request, Artemis began to drink the water quickly. Her throat burned savagely. The last she had ate or drank had been the previous night. The Dark Elves wouldn't allow her anymore so she wouldn't have enough strength to rebel against them. How did that workout, she thought? Her sheer will and determination had been enough for her to act on.

When she was done drinking the water, she turned to the interesting man named Darius. His words at first piqued her curiosity, then her expression darkened. Her once warm expression grew dark and stormy. Castle? What castle? Does he mean, Aklenroth's? The shear thought of him caused her to emanate another low growl. That stupid son of a bitch; she would rather die in these woods than return there. Still, these two were nice to her; but what would happen if she returned to the castle? Artemis shook her head. No, no, no. She would never set foot or tail in that treacherous place. Her thoughts began to trail off until he mentioned returning her home to Earth. This silly boy thought she was a human and proved he was not a merman. Artemis tried to fight back laughter, but a few chuckles escaped her.

"You're a delight," Artemis began to stand up on her shaky legs. Her scales were shining, despite the abuse they ahd been suffering. She began to shiver and glanced towards the water. She needed to go to the water; she hadn't fully submerged into water in over ten hours. Her body was beginning to grow sick. The Dark Elves and Orc had figured she'd make due in the bucket until arriving in her new dungeon and would go straight into the tank. Artemis knew if she went that it would be next to impossible to escape. The snowy mountain would have been far too treacherous for her to maneuver on her own. She shakily started to limp towards the forest and let out a few rattled breaths. Her lungs were drying up from the lack of moisture. Artemis tried to move, but her knees unbuckled. Artemis fell back onto the forest floor and gasped in air. Her hair covered miserable expression. She clutched the grass with a scowl while self-hatred filled her due to her lack of ability to walk. Determination flowed through her as she began to crawl towards it.

"I need to... To get to the water. Please.." Tears filled her eyes as she started to cough and shake. Artemis knew going deep in the forest would not the wisest, but she had survived worse and wasn't afraid of it. That begged the question of her companions? She didn't know about them; they were nice but it was suspicious as well. How did they randomly find her? Still, she didn't want another innocent person getting hurt because of her. She gritted her teeth and weighed the odds of survival. If she didn't find the fresh water soon, she would dehydrate and begin to start dying. She hadn't come this far, to only come this far. Artemis beat the grass with her fists in frustration, then attempted to crawl towards the water.
Nikolaus

Time: Dusk
Location: The Pit
Interaction: @princess - Angel

As Nikolaus watched Angel dismantle the vampires, he sighed loudly and folded his arms. When she was bit, he clicked his tongue and moved to attack if need be, but allowed her the opportunity to react. For a fraction of a second, his heart raced and he felt himself grit his teeth; then the logic of who he was with kicked in. Angel and he were experiments and trained harder then t he others. Niko knew she had it covered, but the worry of watching one of his comrades go down had caused him unease. After she finished killing the vampires, he listened to her words and fought back an eye-roll. Her humor was almost unbeatable. Niko couldn't help but think that if Shay were out here, that they would have a field day together. The horror at the shenanigans they could find themselves in though sent shivers down his spine. The happier memory of his sister warmed him and for a second, he forgot about the true horrors awaiting him at the hospital wing. Angel's voice broke his reverie and he turned to look at her.

"Impressive, huh?" Nikolaus responded with raised eyebrow. He stared at her with sympathy in his eyes. He reached into his pocket and grabbed a tiny vile from it; it was filled with purple liquid enchanted by a witch and dear friend, named Holly. It would help stop the vampire venom from flowing through people so they wouldn't turn. "I'll be impressed if you don't turn into a vampire by the New Year. You need to be more careful and less reckless, Angel. If you had been turned or died right now, what good would it have done, huh? And not just for the hunters, for the sake of yourself and also your fellow hunters who have to mindlessly run after you. I was scheduled to be off tonight and had to run in to come here and save you. I know you can defend yourself; however imagine if those other vampires had seen you and you were murdered? Or worse, experimented on and not as kindly this time? Do us a favor and knock it off, all right? Whatever it is you want, we'll find a way to help you. Just please, for the love of God, make sure to have at least backup nearby. I'm going to become disappointed in you if you continue. You're in our squad now, Angel. It's not just you and you alone."

Niko sighed and came over to her and gently moved her hair out of the way while he listened to her continue speaking. He didn't reply and gently began to apply the liquid. It would sting at first, then begin healing, and then he began patching it up with some bandages from his pants belt as well. He knew she was grateful but was too stubborn to admit it. He ignored the commentary by her and moved away as he corked the vile and slid it back into his pants pocket. He had briefly smirked with amusement and then became stoic. His poker face was capable of shaming even the professionals of the game. He knew she had an agenda and wasn't going to question it now; nobody recklessly chased after vampires with the determination and blood thirst that Angel had. He would question her another time.

Nikolaus glanced at the vampires and flicked out his lighter. "Annnd here we go with cleaning up. I hate doing this part. So nasty." He sighed as he set the vampires on fire. The flames had been enchanted by the same witch to dispose of bodies cleanly without leaving a trace. The fire would burn hot and fast rapidly, then release a few puffs of smoke and disappear. Niko moved back quickly after setting the vampires on fire. He fought the instinct to pull her out of the way. "Works for me." He smirked at her, almost playfully. "Keep up, Angel." Nikolaus replied bluntly and stole once more glance at her neck and continued walking. He grabbed another bandage as he walked and wiped off his bloody swords. When he finished, he tossed the bandages into the fire as well and watched them burn. Then, Nikolaus began hurrying towards The Pit to meet up with Sean.

Belladonna

Time: Noon
Location: Roshimi City

Interaction: @Tae - Torvi, @helo - Bowyn

Belladonna raised her eyebrows at Torvi with surprise at her words, then inhaled sharply at the sudden tremor. Her eyes widened as she glanced around. No-one else looked as if they had noticed. Her gaze settled on Torvi and knew in her heart she had found another human. She didn't dare speak it yet, and exchanged glances with Elleta. "I understand, and it is okay. We all can difficulty trusting people right now. It's understandable, since I do too. Little Blue is a nickname I had as a child, which is why I gave that out instead. You can call me that for now." She toed the line of how much she would reveal and added, "I am sure the humans are on everyone's mind. I would hate for them to end up in a situation that was detrimental for them. They didn't ask to come here."

Belle sighed and set her glass down and turned to listen to Bowyn. A smirk of amusement crossed her face now. He was keeping it moderately spicy, which was something she could do as well. She didn't want to accidentally provoke them further and reveal more magic. Belle especially didn't want to accidentally use hers as well in case someone noticed. Elleta noticed Belle went to speak and quickly spoke instead. "We're from the Moon Elf Kingdom." Their voices were quieter and people had stopped staring. Belle kept glancing ever so often in Rosemary's direction as not to attract attention to her existence. The woman had a shield of light magic around her to keep her invisible to everyone else so she could remain vigilant and protective. Her gaze focused back on Bowyn. The alarm was evident in her eyes, but she didn't show that she had noticed.

"It would be both, Bowyn. Your delightful playfulness is quite entertaining, so thank you for it." Belle took another sip of her glass and noticed it was almost gone. She didn't want to ask for it to be refilled and draw anymore attention to their table. So, she waited for Bowyn to finish speaking and snickered when he mentioned the humans. She could sense his scrutiny upon mentioning them and kept her expression impassive. She continued to pick at the food, her stomach now churning. Would it be a mistake to befriend these two? Bowyn, or Frosty to her, was going to be difficult; the woman Torvi, perhaps not as much.

Belle had to remind herself to be cautious. She was after all, the Golden Death Rebellion leader. The thought of it caused her temples to begin to throb and her expression to briefly show some stress. She didn't want anyone else to experience the sheer stress, aggravation and anxiety she felt at the moment. What if she trusted them on accident and led to her being revealed and murdered; then what? Elleta seemed to catch onto her situation and spoke for her.

"It would seem as though the humans arrival in Avalia has everyone on edge. The few Elves who participated in their arrival bare the responsibility and them alone." In that moment, Belle wondered how much Elle and Rosemary had to do with the arrival and if that was why they were hellbent on keeping her safe, excluding other reasons. She felt bitterness rise momentarily, then let it go. They were the closest things she had to friends right now; and besides, their concern over her was sweet, too. She wasn't used to the genuine concern. She smiled softly at Bowyn. "I do like winter fairies. It's been a pleasure meeting you both, Torvi and Bowyn. Your sentiments are forgiven. I can understand your tenacity. I would like to help you if you would allow us both to assist you, however I can understand if you decline." Belle smiled at her faintly and thanked her silently. What would she do without her? Belle didn't want to halt her sassy remarks, but she didn't want to continue dividng them further or causing more of a rift.

"It isn't a problem, Bowyn. I lost my home many times as well, so I can understand your bitterness. I do think you and I are similar in some ways we may not know yet. Furthermore, I would like to apologize as well for my partial rudeness, too." She then took a deep breath and added, "To make up for it, if you are hungry or thirsty, I can buy the next round. Please let me know what you would like." Belladonna glanced at Elleta who nodded in agreement.
Nikolaus

Time: Dusk
Location: The Pit
Interaction: @princess - Angel

Nikolaus stood overlooking the scene with arms crossed. His hair danced in the wind gently while his swords glistened under the moonlight. Drips of what appeared to be blood were sliding off of them and otno the ground. How he enjoyed the night time; it was his favorite part of the day. He loved staying up late and watching the stars with his sisters, Mishka and Anastasia. His heart ached as he thought of them and felt adrenaline pulse through his veins. He clenched his fists while he listened to them addressing Angel like she was livestock. He understood vampires needing blood, but why the hell did they have to be so cruel? Humans were just as valuable. No matter; they would be gone shortly anyway. Angel and he had to be careful not to let people know of their experiments or else the advantage they had over Viet-Et-Mort would be lost. The mere thought of them caused the hairs on the back of his neck to stand up. His fists were clenched hard enough to turn white.

Niko let out a deep sigh as he readied himself and adjusted his faux leather gloves. He tightened the bandanna over his face to help conceal his identity. He didn't want word getting out who he was or else there would be more trouble and right now, he couldn't afford it. Niko flicked the lighter and moved to the edge of the roof. Niko felt torn over his experimental abilities; the super strength, enhanced senses and durability were both helpful but God, were the side effects awful. Niko stared down at Angel and felt his heart race slightly. If he had been late, she could have been captured or killed. The spastic loner was going to need a talking to when he was finished. The stress level she was causing him was going to require monitoring soon. No matter - he was going to solve it. Niko took a deep breathe and then took a running jump off the roof and landed beside Angel. The vampires jumped with shock which caused him to laugh coldly.

"Jumpy, aren't we?" He taunted with a loud laugh as they began to study him. "Take it in, bloodsuckers. Enjoy the view while you can." He paused and stared at the two discussing Angel's humanity. This made him grin as he pulled down the scarf to reveal it. His sharp teeth were showing, another semi-helpful addition of the experimentation. God, he felt superhuman sometimes and he didn't know whether to love or hate it.

"You're right, she isn't human; in fact, she's a demon sent from hell. Spooky isn't it?" He mimicked her use of 'spooky' earlier which he had been able to hear on his way in. Niko took his bloody swords out and grinned menacingly at the vampires. "Whose next?" He gestured to his sword and unexpectedly stabbed the nearest vampire. He then pulled his bloody sword out and whirled around to impale the next one. This time, he left the sword in so he could grab the previous vampire he'd stabbed and grabbed them by the throat. He slammed him into the concrete brick wall behind him and glared with hostility at him. The vampire was struggling and gasping with his eyes wild with fear and panic. Niko kept an eye on the other vampires, though he wanted to leave them for Angel. They seemed perplexed and afraid to approach him now. They were uncertain for sure.

"Humans aren't food you little shit and women aren't here for your sick pleasures." He glared daggers at them both. He glanced at Angel briefly, then away and back to the vampires. He straightened up and assessed them both as he listened to them speak. T

"What are you two?" The vampire struggled to free himself from Niko's strong grasp with wide eyes. Nikolaus didn't have any tolerance for these vermin, though he didn't exactly enjoying terrorizing them either. He didn't want to admit where his frustration was truly originating from. He didn't need the distractions or the memories right now.

"We're your worst nightmare." Niko then slammed him into the wall with all his strength and cracked his skull. The blood began oozing out. Niko turned and thrust him at the other two vampires with sudden force. They yelled out with shock and moved away with wide eyes. "They're yours." He told her simply and locked eyes with her briefly. With a deep sigh, he moved to Angel's side protectively and retrieved his bloody sword from the vampire. With a grin, he pulled his scarf back up to conceal his face while he awaited their next move as the remaining two now began to circle them with hatred and hostility.

Corvina
Time: Late Morning
Location: Biralei residence--->Small inn in the city
Interaction: @Tae - Kenia ✦ @princess - Malachi ✦ @Inertia Rei

Corvina listened to Kenia's words and nodded in reply. She formed fireballs in both hands and quickly set the linen ablaze. The fireplace roared to life and began to smother the linens. After she burned them, Corvina quickly finished packing the rest of her belongings. She was then instructed by Kenia to burn the rest of the house. Corvina stared at the Elven woman and bit her lip. Burn the whole house? She nodded again, though in compliance. Once they were out of the house, Corvina stood alone in the foyer. The gasoline stayed around her, though she didn't have fear of being burned. Cora quickly tied her hair into a bun and smoothed the rest of it out of her face. Cora then looked at the mask Kenia had pulled over her face in on the first day and tied it around her mouth and nose as well. She took a few steps away and summoned the flames once more on her hands.

She shut her eyes and took several deep breaths. Quickly, the hallway began to light up with flames. She continued to imagine the household in flames with total devastation following. The roar of flames greeted her, though it wasn't enough. She focused harder and began to shoot fireballs in different directions. Corvina turned in circles and stepped away from the gasoline before that area lit up. She then turned to watch as the portraits of Kenia's children lit up and spoke softly to it: "May you beautiful blessings rest in peace and may you never be forgotten. I can tell your mother loves you still." Corvina then shot fireballs into both of them in which they quickly began burning. They would be gone within minutes.

Cora then began to stride through the house, checking off which rooms were burning and which needed some more incentive. She glanced upstairs and found it hadn't lit on fire yet. She growled and shot more fireballs at it. Her focus was stronger than before, but not enough. She shut her eyes as she moved up the steps and halted. What else could she did? She shut her eyes and took deep breaths. She imagined the dragolich nearly burning them alive and suddenly the flames grew stronger, but still not enough. She opened her eyes to gaze at the damage. More fire had eagerly licked up the gasoline. No, nothing from Avalia would be enough for her yet. Corvina had only been semi-conscious that night. She took another deep breathe and began searching her past. Pain began to emerge. She wished she could never remember this day. Tears formed in her eyes, but she bit them back and opened them. She held her hands out as flames began erupting around the house...

When Cora opened her eyes, not only were tears streaming down her face, but the entire house was scorched in flames. She wiped her eyes with her sleeves. She glanced at the house and relished the flames around her. A smirk crossed her face as she strode down the staircase and then towards the door. She stared at the wall of flames and raised her hands. The wall of fire parted for her as she strode out of it and rejoined the others. Cora didn't look back as her mind replayed the memory in her mind. This time, she wouldn't be betrayed, nor would she runaway from her problems. She wouldn't end up in that position ever again. Corvina vowed to herself she would trust herself more this time and do whatever it took to protect the ones beside her and herself in this strange world.

Corvina strode through the city quietly with the others. However, due to using so much of her magic, she felt drained and ate as much as she could. She needed something to keep her energy up and her worries dim. She had ate in silence during lunch, only making friendly chitchat. Once they were in an Inn safely did she begin speaking. She was slightly more upbeat and pleasant. She had sat down and rested her head against the wall behind her, with another cloth around her neck in case she had to use her power once more.

"That would be nice, thanks Kenia. It would help us blend in more as well, though we should keep to our group only and maybe disguise ourselves a bit more. Is there anything else you can do with your magic? We don't know if that fox gave out our descriptions or not, so it might be best to hang as low as possible."

Artemis
Time: Early Morning > Noon
Location: Devil's Bay > Malthemoor
Interaction: @FunnyGuy Darius | @13org Myra

While Artemis knew she was on Daka, she had not expected to be approached by a demon so quickly. Her eyes widened as she stared at her. With apprehension rising, she out a low growl. Just as quickly as the demon approached her, so did a male.. human? She stared, utterly transfixed. He was not an elf, since his ears were not pointy. She didn't have time to ponder, because He began to move quickly towards her. She jumped with surprise and emanated a warning growl, but let it subside as he began to speak. The man began to speak and his words confused her. Just like her? What the hell was he saying? He was a merman? Artemis tensed as he moved slowly in front of her and his hands to her face. She quickly realized he was removing her muzzle and stared with shock. How long had she been wearing that, she had forgotten. No matter, it was gone now.

Once it was disposed of, Artemis spat on it with hatred. When it was gone though, it revealed her face: deep, indented scars from the muzzle lined her mouth. Her soft, doe brown eyes were reddened from crying, and her cheeks and forehead had scarring as well. Her indigo hair was messy and hanging around her face, tangled. Around her neck too, were faint hand marks, indicating she had been strangled on more than one occasion. The most noticeable were her muzzle scars. She had seen them before and felt her heart break at the sigh. After it was off, she stared at the man with confusion. Still confused, she held her bond wrists up to him for him to remove as well. However, he had already been instructing the demon - Myra - to remove them.

There was a lump in her throat. Was this actual freedom happening? It had been years; Artemis had lost all hope of it. Still, she refused to give into hope; this had to be some sick game. Finally, and after a few struggles, spoke, "Just.. like me? what do you... mean? What are you? How did... How did you find me?" Artemis coughed and began gulping in air. It felt incredible to breathe in air normally. As she adjusted to her situation, she could hear a faint trickle of a pond nearby and yearned to be closer to it. "I need to.. I need to get over there." Artemis turned and pointed to the sound of the lake. She fixed her bodysuit and parka around her, though she couldn't wait to remove the parka. Sadly, it was too cold here.

"Darius... Myra," She tested their names and then stared at them. Another lump formed in her throat, but she ignored it. "I'm... Artemis."
