I started RP before double digit age but you couldn't have gotten an admission I was under 18 under threat of death. Kids just casually admiting it online now is wild.

Renar Hagen

Renar would have sassed Fionn further, but it seemed the time for levity was over. Tyaethe's proposal was something that he wholeheartedly agreed with: any shift in momentum was to be taken at this point. Ever since the initial attempt, all the Iron Rose and the Crown Knights had been doing was responding. They couldn't depend on the squadron sent into the mausoleum to take care of everything, or even survive. Moving the princesses was a reasonable precaution, so long as it was done with absolute stealth and haste. The plan could backfire should the enemy catch wind of it, but that risk could be mitigated should they commit immediately and catch the crown's enemies flat-footed.

Moreover, Sir Adeforth's hesitation rankled at Renar. Why? Because clearly, the old man was too hung up on the princesses' rightful place to look at facts and reason. Had Renar thought any less of the commander, he'd assume that Adeforth was more concerned about the Iron Rose butting in and stealing glory from the Crown Knights, but this wasn't his brother. If nothing else, Sir Adeforth legitimately had the royals' interest in mind. It was just that his view conflicted with reality in this case.

"Highnesses. Sir Adeforth." Renar stepped forward, hoping that he could swap their opinions. "If I may, my fellow knights and the Court Mage speak true. This is our one chance to catch the foe off-guard. Should the necromancer escape the knights sent to the crypts, the safety of the crown is paramount. Everything we've seen tonight indicates that they have only made plans to assault you within the confines of your home. If we move swiftly and quietly, they'll be none the wiser about the switch. Princesses, every knight of Candaeln will do their utmost to ensure that your stay will be as comfortable as possible should you agree. Please do consider this." One last idea came to his mind, even as he spoke. Renar sideeyed Tyaethe before his gaze shifted to the younger royal.

"And besides, Princess Maletha." He softened his gaze as best as he was able. Likely not very well, by his own estimate. Renar wasn't exactly the best at dealing with children, outside of his younger brother. But an attempt had to be made. "Wouldn't you like the chance to converse further with Dame Tyaethe? She does live there, you know. And could even show you her chambers."
Nakano Nagi

"How you die?" Nagi raised an eyebrow, deciding to humor the abrasive nerd. In the meantime, she glanced at the response she'd gotten back from Nozomi, immediately followed by coordinates from their handlers. Well, at least she knew where to go now. "Well, one of two things, usually. First doesn't happen often, and it probably shouldn't to you since we got to you first, but sometimes people just have what's basically a mental shutdown. Ain't pretty. Second is-"

The world shifted. It happened again. Nagi stilled, looking around for a brief moment before tucking her phone away. Shit, shit, shit. This was bad. Both she and Nozomi had to lug around civilians during this shift, while looking for three more. This...wasn't going to be pretty.

"God damn it." She groaned, thumbing her Awakening Drive once more as she glanced back to Yuzu, now deathly serious. "Gotoh. That second way you die? Getting killed by monsters in here. I need you to follow me and listen, because if you don't, you're gonna get killed real quick."

Nagi turned, grabbing Yuzu by the shoulder and looking her dead in the eyes.

"I'm not fucking around. This shit's absolutely serious. Stay behind me, and do what I tell you, when I tell you to. I ain't yanking your chain, I'm trying to keep you from biting it. Until I get you to the boss, you're defenseless in here. And there's still three more people that me and my coworker are trying to track down and stop from getting killed too. Got it?" Nagi's grip on Yuzu's shoulder turned into a brief pat before she turned back around, leading the way towards the coordinates she'd been given. It wasn't too far away, but anything could happen in the distance between the supermarket and the conbini.

@Pitsuji
Ranbu no Izayoi

The castle guards had been very hesitant to return Izayoi's sword to her. That hesitation had been replaced with near-hostility when she'd pulled her short blade out of her robes to tuck it back into her sash. Still, they'd relented in the end, if only because the Emperor's Demon already had a blade in hand. What was one more going to do? And frankly, she just didn't care anymore. All that mattered was that the sword was returned to her. After all, it was the only one of its kind readily available to her. Ordinary katanas shattered when wielded with her former strength, and she'd returned the only other Kurogane blade to its maker after its owner's passing. Izayoi frowned at the thought, and hurried onward to her assigned room.

They'd put her with the jumpy Faye and the scruffy fool from earlier. Izayoi frowned at the revelation. Her thoughts on the ruffian were clear enough already, but the magi was a different story. If he truly was a practioner of the black arts, he would prove useful in the journey to come. Unlike many of her countrymen, Izayoi's opinion on magic and technology alike was the same: if it proved of use, she would make use of it. Taboos meant little to her in the face of practicality.

Hopefully, neither of them spoke overmuch. The last thing she needed tonight was someone else trying to strike up a conversation with her, of all things. She'd been extremely fortunate in that the group as a whole seemed to agree to set out for Osprey first. Or at the very least, enough agreed to go that those who sought to find answers elsewhere didn't press the issue.

Regardless, she ignored the bed set out for her and slumped against the wall in the far corner of the room, her sheathed sword pressed up against her as she prepared to sleep. Izayoi had ate at the banquet because there'd been no warning of her coming, no time to poison anything. But now the Limbtaker's presence was known throughout the castle. There was a better chance than not that someone would hold enough of a grudge from the war to attempt to take revenge against her, and she would not be caught unawares. Frankly, any mutilated survivors ought to be thanking her for preserving their lives, even if that hadn't been her actual intent. After a few months of the war, the Edrenians had begun calling her the Limbtaker most of all, due to her propensity to simply lop a foot or hand off of any common soldier who stood against her in battle without pressing her enough to necessitate killing. Why? Because it was simple logistics. A dead soldier could be left in the field to rot. A maimed cripple required one or two more men to drag him back to camp, where he'd take up supplies and infirmary space for treatment before he was inevitably drummed out of the army. It was a monstrous thing to do. Among many other acts she'd committed. Izayoi had become a monster to defend her home, and yet nothing she'd done had been worth it in the end. With a frown, she shut her eyes and-

She heard movement. Izayoi was up on her feet in an instant, one hand resting on the hilt of her katana as a group of armored men barged into the room, guns and swords pointed at the inhabitants within. For someone who'd been fighting their ilk for months, their identity was unmistakable.

"Valheim." She snarled, baring her teeth as she tightened her grip on her sword. Time seemed to slow in her eyes as adrenaline surged through her, the call to battle singing in her blood. In an enclosed space, she held the advantage against riflemen, their longarms too unwieldy to rapidly shift their aim.

Izayoi shot forward, her stance low as she unleashed her blade in a flash of steel. Her first strike was an iaijutsu slash, cutting through the barrels of the gunmen's rifles. They'd have to commit to close combat should they wish to kill now. Her second move was to take advantage of their shock and bring her sword whirling around, outright decapitating a Valheimian soldier as she cut through where she knew their plate armor had weak points.

"Their armor is thinnest where the plates meet! Armpits, neck, and between the legs! Mage, you have room to cast!" She barked out commands, falling into her element as the remaining soldiers drew blades and circled her warily.

"Come, wretches! Before dawn, your heads will hang from this castle's gates!"

Fortunately, it seemed all went well. The spirit, or whatever it was, was slain, and the princesses unharmed. Unfortunately, the Court Mage chose only now to show up. Why he wasn't sent for the moment a necromancer's involvement was mentioned was honestly beyond Renar. Shaking his head, he bit his tongue and remained silent as the man set about his work, instead choosing to focus on their charges.

Fionn was in the middle of lecturing the two girls about staying out of the damned way, and Renar couldn't bring himself to disagree. Hopefully, neither of them nor the Crown Knights would object too harshly to his shoving them aside just now. After all, it did save their lives. Still, Renar supposed that he may as well chime in.

"Highnesses, you're unharmed? Good." Renar nodded as he kept watch over the immediate area for any more possible threats deciding to jump out. "In any case, Sir Fionn speaks sense. I would advise taking the advice of...what was it, again? The ball knight?" He sent a brief smirk in his comrade's direction, unable to resist the chance to rib him briefly.
Dragan Meszaros

Dragan had removed his helmet as he made his way back up, graciously accepting the villagers' cowed thanks. There was no point in being angry at the ignorant. Human peasants didn't know better, especially in this dark age. Of course they would be suspicious of armed strangers. So with that in mind, he simply smiled and nodded as he returned to the village headman.

After Giles spoke, Dragan favored him with a single nod before beginning to explain.

"The beastmen have been driven back. As your villagers will attest, they are either slaughtered or in full retreat. However, you have another problem." This time, the vampire lord gave Giles a hard stare. While he doubted the headman was aware of what exactly had been going on underground, he still had to impart the gravity of the situation upon him.

"Were you aware that someone among you has been experimenting on captured beastmen? He'd had a specimen in his chambers that I put out of its misery. Moreover, I suspect the breach originated from that building. I can take you to it, and then you can point out exactly who occupies it. Whomever it is has brought these raids upon your village, be it inadvertently or otherwise."

Valerie Durand

"Roché and Miles are missing!"

Well, that explained some things. Like why her roommate wasn't back even at this late hour. Valerie sat at her desk, finishing up the last of the day's homework as she mused to herself. Eh, Roche was probably fine. Really, she didn't take the girl for the sexually active type, and Miles wasn't exactly in her own strike zone, but Roche was weird enough that being into really cunty guys wasn't exactly out of the question for her.

"You should probably be a responsible roommate and go look for her, you know." Ceruli cut in, staring out the window as he sat in the spare chair that Roche wasn't using at the moment.

"I really, really don't want to walk in on my roommate screwing someone in the middle of the woods. Plus, Sartyr's probably called campus security by now." Valerie replied instantly, packing her schoolwork up.

"And the poor girl will face disciplinary action should security retrieve her before you manage to. Do recall that you're supposed to be living with her. It would do you good to get on her better side."

"The first thing she did when we met was come at me with a utility lighter." Valerie said flatly, before sighing as her Duel Spirit continued to stare her down. A few moments later, she gave in. "Fine, fine. If I walk in on them cuddling, I'm coming straight back." A pause. "...She's been gone for hours. Would've been back by now if it's what they were actually up to."

With that settled, Valerie stood up, slipped her Duel Disk on, and left her room out the window. No sense leaving after curfew through the front door. Time to go find her erstwhile roommate.
Renar Hagen

Renar was going to have watched the windows even before Tyaethe gave her order. It made sense, after all. The corridor was manned by Crown Knights already, and there weren't any other points of ingress besides self-made ones. And at that point, the idea was so insane that even a defense against it would be needlessly wasteful in any other circumstance. So he did as he was bid, and returned to guarding the princess's room, sword drawn and planted against the floor.

He did nod politely to Princess Elisande as she shielded her younger sister's view from it, though that certainly wasn't helping with the unearthly howling. Gods be damned, feigning charm and decorum throughout the entirety of the ball had been exhausting enough already. And he was terrible with children to begin with. Fionn really should be handling this, but if the other knight wasn't going to jump on the situation, Renar would.

"Cover your ears should you find the ruckus unpleasant, Highness." The Bastard of Brias briefly crouched down at Princess Maletha's side. "Dame Tyaethe is doing exactly what she is supposed to. This is just proof that it's working." With that said, he stood back up and resumed his vigil, shooting Fionn a pleading gaze to take over with the child.

Renar did sneak a peek at the exorcism now and then, just to make sure that nothing was going wrong. Fortunately, judging by the reactions of everyone involved, it looked like this was supposed to be normal. Just some sort of wicked spirit, according to Sir Adeforth-

The thing moved.

He saw it out of the corner of his eye, and reacted immediately. Renar dashed forward, his free hand shoving the princesses out of the way of the creature's lunge, even as his sword hand thrust out and plunged the tip of his blade straight for the spirit's throat. Oh, this had better work. He wasn't dying for anyone else this day, not even a royal.
