as a patreon reward I will read your least favorite person's handmade custom tabletop RPG homebrew and ask them why they didn't just run it in 5e instead

I started RP before double digit age but you couldn't have gotten an admission I was under 18 under threat of death. Kids just casually admiting it online now is wild.

Shinozaki Yurie

A few miles away in Tokyo, an apartment door swung open, and Yurie walked through with a groan, slamming it shut behind her. God, she hated the commute to and from campus. If there hadn't been a test today, there'd have been no chance she bothered to even attend. Not for the first time, Yurie questioned her choice of staying in Japan and not attending college in America instead. She'd spent half her childhood there, leaving Japan after elementary school and only returning in her second year of high school thanks to her parents' jobs. Cali sucked, but at least she got English fluency out of it.

Yurie flopped into her chair, not even bothering to change out of her clothes or take her shoes off for the moment as she popped open the mini fridge next to her desk and took out a can of sugarfree energy drink. Second sip of the day. She'd need it for the rest of the evening and night. After all, now that class was done, she could get back to what was actually important. Yurie took a swig of her white Monster as she opened her email inbox.

"Let's see...no job offers? No weekend binge this week, I guess." She murmured to herself as she checked her mail. Well, at least it gave her free time to work on trying to crack some security systems-

You've got mail!

Yurie blinked. From the title alone, it looked like spam. So how the hell had it gotten past the filter? She opened it, being careful to not click on anything past that.

"...What the hell is this?" She murmured incredulously under her breath. Whoever decided to cook up this new variation of the Nigerian prince scam deserved points for creativity, at least. Damn, now she was curious. A few clicks forwarded the email to a burner account, and Yurie yanked her ethernet cable out of her tower as she switched over to her second machine. Her crappy five year old Thinkpad was a solid test bed for dealing with security stuff, considering it didn't have any personal information on it anymore. Just because she was curious didn't mean she was going to be stupid about it. She set up a virtual machine before accessing her burner account, opening the email as she did before. The same message greeted Yurie, and she clicked the link inside, only to be greeted by a blinding light.

"Oh come on-" She yelled in exasperation before the world seemed to shift out from under her.

___

"-a flashbang prank?!" Yurie finished her scream as she fell onto her ass. Wait, what? She opened her eyes, only to be surrounded by polished marble and...other people? Holy hell, was her boomer juice spiked?
EDIT- Changing from the Truck-kun idea. How do you guys like weird emails in your inbox?

Good with me, more Digimon-esque imo.
Iraleth Kyrios

It was going to be like that? Fine. The Strixan girl wasn't wrong to begin with. Iraleth had only been hoping for a point of commonality in resenting Vaal Shakta. But if she didn't want to take the hand offered to her, it wasn't Iraleth's problem. One could only do so much without resorting to force, after all. And she had enough to concern herself over for the day as it was.

"Fair enough." Was all she conceded verbally, inclining her head before turning to leave. The brief thought occurred to her that she'd never gotten the lightbulb starer's name, but the time for that had passed. Perhaps in the future, whenever she saw her again. For now, there was breakfast to think about before classes began.

Choosing her meal upon arrival to the cafeteria had been simple enough. A silver coin for a single meal felt like a waste, to say nothing of two. So Iraleth waited in line for baked goods instead and proferred her two copper for a rather large roll of hot, fresh sourdough with butter. One bite had her reflecting that it was better than most bakeries she'd visited back home, and for a similar enough price.

As Iraleth started to walk out of the cafeteria, Gulliver Bronstead commandeering an entire table with his mannequins caught her gaze. She rolled her eyes in exasperation and started to move on, having better things to do with her limited time before class than to deal with any of that nonsense.
I choose to believe that of all of Melissa Fahn's voices, Yui sounds like Nep. Silver Wolf's voice is close enough to that anyway.
I'm still stuck choosing between two or three Megas, tbh. I like stupid evolution lines.
Eh, I'm fine with keeping it as it is. To tell the truth, I was half expecting you to end up assigning Mega forms later, which I'd be fine with.
@Cleveraptor Idle question you can feel free to shut down: we're clearly not getting to it for a long while, but I assume you've got something cooking for Megas if you didn't want us to select them right this moment?

Yeah, true. A damn shame Yurie runs on ego and spite.
Does it still count as Dark Digivolution when every single one of your evolutions is a sinister-looking fucker
