4 months into this hole 'being a responsible adult thing' and I've come to a conclusion: It sucks and I want to go back to the days where I didn't have to plan out my game time.

As Reggie walked away from the slightly chaotic Q&A session going on, he couldn't help but wonder what the hell his involvement in this would do to his life. Well, it's not like it could get much worse, I am homeless with nothing to my name other than a bag full of snacks and two mementos that I'd be better off selling than anything else.

After that depressing thought, he looked up to see a man walking towards were henjust came from. Not sure if the Gems were done with their talk, he decided to give the guy a heads up. "Hey, I wouldn't go that way if I were you, the technicolor aliens up there are having a talk that seemed like it had the potential to get violent. If you want to talk to them, it might be better for you to wait here. I could even stay with you, if you want, talk about human stuff like sleeping, taxes, and not trying to drain the life of the planet . . . though I have to say, that last one seems to be a trait we share."

@pyroman
You wound me thinking I'd pull such a thing, I just made it so that you'd really have to think your way to a victory. Also, Aiden learned a new trick for his Trap Guardians. I'm going to call that one 'Depth Charge'.
Aiden Cross

Aiden looked up as he saw that the games where starting and he was up first. With a sharp grin of confidence plastered on his face, he turned to Marduk.

"I'll be back soon enough, so why don't you talk it over with Xavier a bit." He left with a small wave before he walked into the arena, his eyes quickly analyzing his opponent. He'd done some research a few days before on the other guilds and their possible contenders. The man before him was an S-class ice mage, and seemed to have recently learned a new magic type, though the specifications of this 'Black Ice' where not yet well-known, so caution was to be advised. As he stepped up, the Guardians that he'd had restrain Gwen released their charge and followed Aiden into the coming battle.

When the competition was announced and the Snitch Metalite was thrown into the air, neither competitor wasted anytime on going for the silver ball. While Kuroko took a more direct approach, Aiden put his mind to work on a near fool-proof way to win this match. "Fluid Ice Make: Dragonic Ascension!"

Calling out his signature attack, Aiden summoned 6 of his ice birds to fly towards the sphere. Meanwhile, his Guardians took the offensive, one grabbing the other and throwing them into the way of Kuroko's black hand. On contact, the construct would liquefy and condense before exploding outward with some force. Maybe not enough to break the hand, but enough to slow it's ascent and damage it. The other guardian took this opprotunity to charge at the S-class mage in an attempt to latch onto him. If successful, it would transform into a large ball of freezing water, trapping the mage if onky for a moment.

Whether the Guardian succeded or not, Aiden would still continue his assault as a blue magic circle appeared underneath his feet. "Water Dragon's Battering Ram!" The circle would explode with a surge of pressurized water, launching him forward at high speed towards his foe. If Kuroko took the hit, he'd be sent flying acrosd the stadium, but if he tried to block it, the Metalite would almost certainly be Aiden's to capture. Divide his attention between multiple threats and conquer the match as he tries to respond to all of them. Looks like your Black Ice won't be able to help you in this competition, my fellow ice mage.

Akio Tendou

Akio cursed slightly as she saw most of their attacks get cancelled out, thinking that the Gian and Kusaru in front of them would surely attack them while they were wrapped in fighting each other. The only attack that had hit was her shuriken, which had only gone to make Gian’s arm spaz out for some reason. She could definitely feel that something was off with this guy, and that feeling only grew more solid as she watched him engage Yamato. She might’ve drawn another bolt to fire, but Aoi’s intervention halted her, and in a way, brought her back to her senses. As Kusaru put all thing to a halt, Akio only gave the clown girl a nod of thanks. If not for her, she probably would’ve fired a shot that might’ve started the hostilities all over again.

As Kusaru began to speak to them as a whole, Akio couldn’t help but feel drawn in by the woman’s natural charisma, thought the fact that this woman knew her name did ring a few warning bells. However, as someone who lived by herself, she could attest to the hardships of making a living as a Shinobi in modern times. The payments you get for C rank and lower missions is sometimes barely enough to get you by, and while Akio can live somewhat comfortably due to the fact that her family had some money that she’s put away for a rainy day, most people didn’t have that luxury.

Akio would be lying if she said that she didn’t like what this lady was saying, but their was something that was bothering the young Tendou quite a bit about Kusaru’s speech. She was making all of these grand promises, but she wasn’t telling them how she was going to bring shinobi back into the fore, a fact that Akio would very much like to know.

She was snapped out of her thoughts, however, when Gian suddenly shot through the air to stop the Ronin that Team Ayame had brought in from escaping. The way he did it, however, brought a theory to mind. She wasn’t sure about it yet, but it seemed like an explanation for the man’s strange actions. As they left, Akio noticed the way Gian gazed seem to stay on her, and how he chose to wave with his damaged hand. Obviously, she had got the jester’s attention, a thought that was far from estatic about. Once they had left, Akio let out a sigh of relief(one that was much more subdued than Aoi’s), though she still felt a bit of nerves. She knew that Tsukiko-nee probably would chew her out for her reckless actions later, and she’d deserve it. She had let her panic and fear, of her death and that of her comrades, drive her actions instead of really thinking it through.

It was around this time that she noticed that Aoi still had a hold of her hand, a revelation that made her blush ever so slightly underneath her hood. Before she could say anything, the clown girl released her grip as she asked if Akio was all right. Not trusting herself to speak, she simply nodded, though a noticeable glimmer came to her eye as Aoi mentioned having a slumber party. Of course it would have to be much more subdued, since they were still on a mission, but she was sure it would still be fun to just talk to someone. The only other person she’d spoken to in length was Tsukiko-nee, and while there was nothing wrong with that, she couldn’t talk to her about certain things as there was just too much of an age gap between them. Her mind made, Akio gave one more, noticeably more enthusiastic nod to Aoi’s offer.

@Angel EyesSeeing as how things have progressed, than yeah ,We'll just assumed it fired cause I too don't feel like changing my post.
Posted, and my brain decided to start working again, so this one doesn't suck(I hope). Now then, to work on my fiendish fiend character(s). Might redo my nullifier so that he's a part of the fiends, because I've lost the original idea I had for him.

Aiden Cross

Aiden continued to chew his snacks as Taylor and one of the other girls yelled at him, the grin never leaving his face. Somewhere in his mind, he was being an a complete asshole, but he couldn’t find it in himself to care during this moment in time. A part of him even found their anger to be somewhat amusing even, in the way people find it funny when a tiny dog starts barking at you. Their words were about as meaningful to him as a tiny dogs barking, just not as mind numbingly annoying, though they were harder to shut up. The thought brought a slight chuckle from him before he decided to respond, first to Taylor, than the girl who was missing an arm, then to the loud mouth.

“You’re right, I don’t know you, but I’m free to form any idea in my head about you from what I’ve seen and heard. If you have a problem with that, then do something about it and change my mind, cause at least I had the courtesy to tell you straight to your face. And if you’re going to go to the trouble of verbally insulting me, at least do it in English so I can understand what the hell you’re saying, unless you’re afraid of a little retaliation.” As he spoke, Taylor would notice a bit of a warmth beginning to radiate off of him, not a lot, but enough to be noticeable. His eyes were also beginning to slowly shift from their light, icy blue, into a slightly luminescent red, and the scale-like markings on his neck and lower face would begin to spread up his face, though it was a slow and barely noticeable progression.

His eyes would then shift over to Inaje, the look in his eyes being very predatory in the face of weak prey. For a split-second, Aiden was consumed by predatory instinct, his body tensing up as if he was about to pounce, but he quickly regained his senses by sheer force of will, looking away from the girl before he lost control of himself. “True, she did take care of that idiot, but it wasn’t like the loud-mouth over here needed it. From what I can tell, she was about to deck the guy with that water of hers, but if she hadn’t been a meta, it would’ve been a good deed.” Aiden took a moment to consider something, and whether or not he should tell these people, but decided why the hell not. “To be honest, I was about to take the guy down myself, but for . . . less than noble reasons. As you can see, I’m a bestial-type Meta, and with that distinction comes these annoying things known as predatory instincts, of which I’ve little to no control over. When I saw that guy running away, picking up the subtle scents of fear that only a predator can truly detect, I was a split second away from hunting the guy down. So this girl did a lot more good than she realized, know that I think about, cause if she hadn’t have intervened, your little bag snatcher would be in a lot worse shape than he is know and I’d be in trouble with NEST again.”

That would’ve made it the third attack this month, and the only reason he wasn’t already in jail because of it is because he had technically been making a ‘citizen’s arrest’ when he apprehended the occasional purse snatcher and pickpocket on his walks. Just the thought of NEST made him paranoid, as he couldn’t help but look behind him as if he was expecting an agent to appear behind just by speaking their name. After that little episode of paranoia, he finally turned his attention to the loud mouth, who was to him the most bothersome out of the whole bunch, especially with her insults. With a face like his, he had heard a lot worse, especially from those fuckin’ Pure-supporters. Besides that, he could never really get into World of Warcraft, he was more of a MOBA kinda guy, so his main source of long sleepless nights in front of a computer was League of Legends and Smite. Thus, her insult had no effect on him besides making him snicker a little. “If you want to be specific, I came from my dorm room at Academy 12, getting in my daily exercise for the day. As for backing off, I’d really like to see you fucking make me. If you can, that is?” Out of everyone here, this one was the closest to getting mauled. Not because he wanted, quite the opposite, but because she was challenging him the most, both with her words and her actions. Every cell in his body was pushing him, screaming at him to shift into his halfling state and show this girl her place in the food chain, and he was having a rather hard time keeping it in check. If this went on for much longer, he was more than likely going to lose it, but he couldn’t just walk away. That be showing weakness, and right now, that was the worst thing he could ever imagine doing.

Aleksander Volkov

“Lihua, no need for such formalities outside the office, please, just call me Alek if you will. As for food, I’d love to try some of the local flavor around here, as I don’t usually come this way. I had a delivery to make for my shop, a custom necklace for the client’s grandmother, made with blue diamonds and topaz, wrapped in a beautiful silver casing. It took me a couple days to get it just right, but in the end, I think it was on of my finest works.” Alek spoke with as much pride about his side job as he did for his work with NEST as he followed Lihua down the street, his colors changing to a bright gold as he did so. Turning to Lihua, he remembered that she had a daughter as well, though the child’s name escaped him at the moment. “Hey, would there happen to be any celebr-.”

Alek began, but was caught off guard by his fellow agents question, though he really shouldn’t have been. The Fiend attack on Festival was all anyone had been talking about. His opinion on the matter would be seen before it was heard, as his hair and eyes became a deep, dark red color. “I feel that it was despicable and could’ve been avoided if NEST had taken the Fiends more seriously. They think that just because their forces are made up off drugged up nobodies that they aren’t a big threat, but to me that was what made them more so. They have no rhyme, no reason, no clear motives for what they do and why they kill. If I could ever get my hands on this Khan . . .” He let the statement hang in the air, his hands clenched into fist for a sometime before he took a calming breathe. His color returned to it’s neutral, lighter red coloring as temper faded away. Once he had calmed down enough that he could trust himself to speak, he continued. “Anyway, I believe that the entire situation was poorly handled, but at least now NEST is going to do something about it. A pity that it had to come at the cost of 50 peoples lives.”

Alek let out a sigh, thinking to his own daughter, who was turning 15 this year. Luckily, she hadn’t been anywhere near the fighting. He would’ve been there as well if it wasn’t for the fact that he’d been assigned to another part of the country to deal with some Meta-human terroist cell in Nebraska. They were untrained, but had some powerhouses that could cause a lot of damage if left unchecked. He’d taken two of them out, but had to kill the last one. He had to see some good men die on that mission, and it sickened him how he was able to so calmly live on with that. But that was the life he’d signed up for, the life he’d lived for over 20 years, and he wasn’t about to start complaining now. “I just hope we can stop them before they strike again, as well find out the truth behind those missing scientists and their equipment. Something about the whole thing just doesn’t smell right to me.”
@Angel Eyes Akio is still charging up her attack, as it takes a post before it can be used. Also, it's more than two shurikens headed for them, more like three or four for each foe. Good Post though, I just should've been more clear with my writing.
Sorry I didn't get something up today, was hanging with a friend only to come home and find that my sister broke her collarbone at Summer camp. What sucks about this is that her birthday is tomorrow and everything's been cancelled because she needs to rest. Might be able to do something tomorrow, but probably not.
@PartisanThanks, just wish I'd been able to have her talk to Aoi before shit hit the fan. What I get for skimming I guess.
