Being truly on my own is a bit of a weird feeling. It's never really happened.

Let it never be said that sometimes extreme brevity isn't the most appropriate post, though. Everything is a tool.

  • Name: Lillia Avemaria
  • Age: 14
  • Gender: Female
  • Appearance: In some regards, Lillia is quite endowed, certainly to the point that it’s rather hard to ignore… whilst in regards to her height it is quite the opposite: any height difference between her and Arinne can be put down to their shoes.
  • Personality: As the family heir to one of the Tower’s old noble families, Lillia has been quite spoiled… and thoroughly conditioned to act properly. She’s unfailingly polite and friendly, though she can be quite upset by bullying or being picked on—not that most people would even consider that to be an option, in her life. She’s also quite bad at reading people’s intentions… unless she’s in danger.
In dangerous or messy situations, quite unlike most girls of her age, Lillia tends to remain frighteningly calm. She’s hard to shock.
  • Abilities: The generation’s other magical prodigy, Lillia has a vast pool of high-quality mana, and at her family’s insistence has studiously trained in the basics of various elemental or seemingly generic magic: if you have the magical ability, then one should be quite able to maintain a household in a comfortable state with it (of course, that’s why servants exist, but the point remains).
Her true affinity is for Life, something regularly occurring in the Avemaria’s main line—and possibly explaining the rumours that for some generations, all of their servants have been homunculi made at one point or another. Lillia, a prodigy or not, is much too young to have considered entering into the process of trying to… acquire a soul. Instead, she tends to focus on more mundane concerns, like healing, or growing plants, or—in extremis—draining the life from anyone too close… which mostly serves to make people around her increasingly sleepy. With the proper set-up it could be quite more lethal.
That her specialisation is Poisons would come as quite a surprise with her attitude, but she likes how it can be used for some medical effects that healing wouldn’t cover. Or self defence. A touch that makes limbs go numb can be quite useful.
  • Skills: Lillia is pretty good at gardening, cutting things carefully, and sewing.
Do not ask her about anything created after the industrial revolution, she’ll be quite confused.
  • Assets: As the current heir, Lillia has access to vast wealth—provided that she can justify it to her parents, who are fairly permissive about what their daughter might choose to spend money on—obviously, becoming a business magnate is out, but almost any mundane expenses are beneath their notice. Similarly, the family’s large staff of maids and bodyguards who are also maids can be called upon—diverting the butler from their duty would, however, be considered quite improper.
One maid, in particular, is assigned specifically for Lillia’s use and protection—Maria, a homunculus made with full intent to be extremely proficient with knives and not to talk back to her master. Accordingly, she’s completely mute.
  • Brief Backstory: The Avemaria family has a long history, but it does tend to be accused of having quite unsavoury practices in the past—no matter that most of their contributions to mage society have been through their adeptness at healing, somehow quite competently dealing with injuries that can’t simply be healed away—missing limbs or severely damaged organs, if you’re willing to pay up, then anything can be healed right now…
One of the things that lends credence to the negative rumours, however, is that the rumours of a vast mansion and its grounds maintained and staffed by homunculi? True, for at least five generations back: from cradle to grave, five generations have been served by the exact same household. To have that many, they must be getting souls… somehow.
Lillia is their latest heir, born into the family and given quite a lot of attention by parents with time to spare, and almost anything she could ask for. But there were no other children her age amongst the family or staff, so what were they to do? Simple: have her associate with the child of one of the few other families of appropriate standing.
Perhaps it’s not surprising that when Arinne called upon her contracts, the Avemaria sent Lillia instead of one of the adults. No doubt her parents have reasoned it easier to send someone who would be visiting regularly anyway than go themselves and have Lillia intrude awkwardly.
From the depths I surface with a character that it took me over a week to actually settle on.

Hanako

"Maybe... we should work together? You can beat me at the end," Hanako offered, looking at the two. Sure, winning would be nice, but she didn't really want to fight them right now. If she helped them get through the majority of the Hex Night then she could feel less guilty about taking them out at the end. Or someone else might do it for her. Either way, she could put off beating up some actual children until later... and she could use her abilities as support or heavy backup, both of which they were really more suited for than one on one combat.

Lancelot and Laetitia

Ah, this was just too... she knew it was a serious moment and all, but it was so hard to keep a lid on maintaining your Servant's dignity when they were just being a walking bundle of adorable. Saber's instincts might give her a very strong sensation of something about to happen... something completely non-dangerous... and then the substantially taller blonde was sweeping her up in a hug. "Ah, even in a suit you're adorable! So tiny and regal and hungry but hopelessly cute!"

She had to be hungry, right? There was no way that anyone could have that massive pile of snacks nearby and her Saber couldn't be hungry.

Lancelot, on the other hand, seemed to have developed features carved out of stone, though he was at least smiling. It was quite possible that the idea of thinking of Arturia as adorable was something that was quite beyond the realms of comprehension but, perhaps, it showed a good thing--that since his second death, and in whatever events had transpired since, someone had been able to free the king of the bonds of acting so utterly inhuman. If they were to ever meet, then he must have something to offer that person... even if all he had was his swordsmanship.

"Ah, yes... I believe we should have everyone gather if possible, though I cannot say if my Master will be able to spare the time to make it," the purple-haired knight said, loosening up a little and the smile becoming less forced, "We cannot let Sir Gawain's defeat go ignored. Perhaps we should all join this tournament and make sure no false impressions are given?"

Alkyrieaze von Einzbern

The girl's face went through a variety of emotions before settling on deadpan: "I would say something about your choice of appearance but in most regards you're still more normal than grandfather will ever be. But as you say, you must have known Justeaze, and your learning ability is deserving of some respect..."

And someone that had ever met the Holy Maiden of Winter could potentially be of use rebuilding the key components of the ritual to complete it. Yes, Da Vinci or Paracelsus could indeed be of use to an alchemist such as herself.

"I am Alkyrieaze von Einzbern, nine years old, Master of Altera, and functional head of the Einzbern within this city, although Jubstacheit holds that title until I reach adulthood," she replied--but her attention had started to drift, with her Servant already walking over to the nearby cage. Red pandas, huh...? They were somewhat cute, she supposed, but...

"The big ones look fluffier..." Who cared that they were bears? She had ways of dealing with something like that. Fluffy was important.
Alkyrieaze von Einzbern

"I am Altera," the tanned woman replied, keeping it short and avoiding any unnecessary information. Unfortunately, as far as answers went, it was completely useless for answering the question: who was Altera, and why was this Altera person a Servant? Fortunately for Da Vinci and Serene, the swordswoman's Master was quite irrate at being ignored.

"Altera, better known as the Scourge of God, Attila the Hun," Alkyrieaze interjected, ignoring the annoyed look from her own Servant, and pointing at Serene, "Saber-class Servant and far more than just some warlord! But what about you two? Do you think that just because I'm young, you can ignore me? That I don't count as a proper Master even though I'm far better at this than anyone else will ever be? That's the problem with all you newcomer Masters, thinking that just because you can make a summonhere you're special or accomplished!"

It was far from the wisest decision, but the girl was even advancing on Da Vinci, continuing to jab her finger in her general direction, "And what about you? Are you one of thoxe Servants that thinks you're better than the rest of us just because people liked to write about you in books? Think that a handful of nice achievements in history make you so special? So many Heroic Spirits without even two hundred years to their name, and yet they think they're too good for the rest of us, even if we have magic and memories that go back to Charlemagne!

"So tell me! Who! Are! You! The subject of a portrait wouldn't be a hero!"

Bonus fact: Da Vinci was personally acquainted with Makiri Zolgen. So she should have no trouble identifying an Einzbern (assuming she didn't just know about Justeaze by reputation, too). xD
Alkyrieaze von Einzbern

Their movements--and Alkyrieaze's not so subtle prompting that she wanted to go where you were allowed to touch the fluffy things--had eventually taken the white-haired pair most of the way around the zoo. Strangely, the longest diversion had not been her own interest in the petting zoo. No, it had been when they had been near some horses. And Altera had stared. And stared some more. Before claiming that it was nothing and moving on.

She really didn't understand that Servant; for the so-called Scourge of God she had such little interest in history. Occasionally a bit too soft, as well...

They were passing by the exhibits when she saw something that made her stare. And stare some more. Alkyrieaze even had to glance back at Altera to make sure that what she was noticing matched up, but there was no doubt about it: the woman in front of her was undoubtedly a Servant.

"The subject of a painting would never qualify to be a Heroic Spirit, how is the Mona Lisa walking around?" Best to go for the direct approach.

"Then you have until the morning to plan how to use our capabilities," the golden king confidently stated, finishing off the glass and waiting expectantly for another, "I expect that you will refrain from sullying my city over much."

Laetitia and Lancelot

Much the same memories were replaying in Lancelot's mind, the guilt of having escaped punishment before conflicting with the guilt of forcing the king into punishing him... but he was the Knight of the Lake. He wouldn't shy away from awkward social interactions; if that was the case he would most likely have to exile himself to an even more remote island so as to avoid any possibility of meeting the other knights.

"I... apologise for the mistakes of that war. In my madness I could never explain why I sought out that punishment, nor thank you. But, I can say with certainty..." a moment's hesitation spent looking at Mordred. Mordred was a traitor, but before that, a Knight of the Round Table as well, "You were the greatest of kings. All who served you felt the same way."

Now hopefully Mordred wouldn't start an argument about that, as then there would be no guarantee of avoiding a fight here...

Laetitia decided to restrict herself merely to closely examining Mordred and her Master. If Saber--or rather, her Saber, out of the selection of three that had come along--needed her to say or do anything, it would doubtless be more apparent. But for now, intruding upon the knights' talk... well, she valued her head.
Tyaethe had been more focused on her arm, giving it angry looks as if this might have it fully heal any faster, when Indrau rode up and offered his sword. A sword that could cut magic... it was smaller than her own blade, but possibly better for that task. But even only holding the sword in her hands, it felt heavy. Too heavy and unbalanced, almost tiring simply to hold--let alone try to swing in battle. Not the type of liability that she would want in battle, no matter its antimagical properties.

"No... definitely not. Even if it weren't so different in reach to my normal weapon, I doubt I could make any use of that sword."
