Being truly on my own is a bit of a weird feeling. It's never really happened.

Let it never be said that sometimes extreme brevity isn't the most appropriate post, though. Everything is a tool.

"Oh, they must be getting more subtle. There's always a few who think that they should have more say in how the order is run and recruits," Tyaethe said, absent-mindedly downing the glass as she looked around and grabbing another one. It wasn't as if the alcohol had much of an effect on her; being immune to poison tended to do that. Perhaps if she put her mind to it such an immunity could be suppressed... not that this seemed like a terribly good idea. She had seen other people with no tolerance drink like she tended to and it wasn't a fun experience.

Well, for them. For her it was generally hilarious.

The three girls coming in seemed to be angling for something far more than a mere chat, from the object of their focus--Gerard did seem to clean up reasonably well, after all. Just a bit down the table she could hear one of the slimy noble lot harassing the captain. It was as good an opportunity as any for her to slip away from the poor unfortunate soul... especially as Elionne had come up. If that basatard said anything...

"Oh, yes. We fought Jeremiah. All very heroic and that, I mostly watched to make sure nobody else got killed," she added, attention off the conversation--and then slipping away to hover behind the noble. Gerard would live. Probably. He'd be mad at the abandonment to the wiles of three young ladies, but she could cope with such frustration.

"Now, milord, what would you know of the measure of a Saint? Have you ever met one?"

Tachibana Hibiki

It was frustrating that every single door in this area... every single one... seemed to be hiding someone that was maddeningly unhelpful about her attempts to ask about a lost child. Even trying to explain just got a repeated instruction to go away, albeit more... colourfully phrased. Following the line of doorways along one of the walkways along the streets, Hibiki inevitably found herself climbing the stairs, leading to a present little bridge... well, what would be a pleasant bridge if it wasn't for the madness going on in the city.

Beyond the bridge there was another square with a window and a lit lantern, the sound of someone coughing... and inexplicably a freestanding lantern in the centre of it.

"Why is there a lantern here...?"
Three strangers and a paladin asking him if he's seen dodgy nobles in a party full of nobles.

Brilliant.
Anyway, who's next on arriving at fancy party?
All good, doesn't really matter who goes first here.

The paladin appeared to have taken it on herself to shun the militaristic appearance of so many of her fellows, not conjuring her armour or even displaying epaulettes or medals such as the captain. A black gown, hugging tightly and making it clear that mistaking Tyaethe for a child today would in no way be an option--but relatively unadorned, save for golden embroidery at the edges, an interlocked pattern of lilies and roses. It rather made the rest of her, pale skin and white hair, stand out all the more.

Of course the peaceable approach was rather defeated by having possibly the largest sword of any of the knights casually slung over one shoulder. At least comparing it to her bare arms made it clear how little muscle actually went into wielding it.

In her other hand, the vampire had already acquired and half-drained a glass of wine, looking around at the crowd as if trying to spot something. Only made more difficult by the lack of height... so she ambled up to Gerard. "Seen any nobles looking particularly annoyed since we came in?"

Sir Lancelot

The knight dispatched another shadow almost absent-mindedly as he reached his destination, ducking around a spear thrust and separating head from body. Some of these shadows still managed to represent a challenge to most Servants; the decayed abilities compared to their originals showing just how elite they must once have been. But some... without their Noble Phantasms or skills to call upon, a strong magus would have been able to cut them down.

Not that this addressed the fundamental problem of numbers. Not all Servants were as gifted in direct combat as the knight classes, and the stronger shadows could pose a serious challenge to someone without any advantages of their own. So, the greatest help he could provide before moving in to rescue was to stem the tide of reinforcements; cut through the most damaged part of the stands.

"Reach the end of the world and go beyond its limits," the knight said, the words helping him focus, controlling the turbulent magical energy in his sword as he took one last check at the angle, "Arondight - Overload!"

The light was far less bright than when contained to a single target; the damage much less... but against these shadows, the wave of blue light was more than enough, burning through incorporeal flesh like a sword-stroke itself. It wasn't the outright annihilation of Excalibur or Galatine, but more than deadly on a massed force of this calibre.

This section cleared, the knight descended back into the chaos, noting the sight of a coat-wearing man fleeing with a child. Too fast to catch up with easily, clearly a Servant, but not a fighter. But if he angled to cut across the stands, jumping down and using gravity to his advantage...

"Is anyone else with you?" ... hopefully they would hear the message before speeding right past. At least Lancelot would be able to cleave the shadows in pursuit.

Laetitia Arconiand

Well, this was not what she was looking forward to today. Watching her Servant show off and remind everyone of just how famous and powerful the legendary King Arthur was, yes. Have to deal with a teeming horde of replicating shadow Servants... well, that had definitely not been on the agenda. Fortunately, with her Servant actually in the fight, she had a front row seat and wasn't immediately turned into yet more summoning material.

Providing backup to her Servant was really the limit of her ability in a situation like this, but it wasn't like that was much more draining than the arena fight would have been... her Saber was no less greedy with mana than she was with food and it was a good thing that she had so much to spare.

The blonde made the brave decision to jump out of the stands and down into the arena whilst keeping an eye out on her surroundings. One, it would make her easy to get to if any of the shadows did get close--she didn't need Saber trying to find her in that situation! Two, it meant that she was somewhat in an expanding ring of safety as the Servants here cleared up the mess.

And three, it made it much easier to work out where to run when the coast was clear.
Sure, I'm good with skipping.

What a shame I can't tell embarrassing stories about former captains, though. xD
Good luck; don't get brained by a TV.
Shiro

Shiro pouted as the object of her interest was pulled away. That was... no fair! She just wanted to keep admiring that smooth belly some more, and the plants had gotten all uppity for some reason and pulled her away. Nevertheless, this forced the girl to brush herself off and stand up in time to listen to Lila's introduction... although she was only half paying attention. The dragongirl's navel was very distracting, and one of the other summoned champions had an equally bare stomach... this was definitely a heavenly place...

With their summoner's introduction over, Shiro made her own... this was very distracting after all, one couldn't leave it too long. "Well, challenges sound interesting... I am Shiro, of no family or clan of note. We are also the Yamata no Orochi... do you think these challenges might have something bigger than us? I haven't met something like the Daidarabotchi for eras."
