The Princess

"Tough call that one at the pizza parlour. Not much you could do, but, hey, we'll go for the next one. Anyway, I'm aware you seem comfortable shifting from form to form, and what I have on my desk, I've got three forms so far. I guess the only question I have is are you okay as you are in this base form, Princess? I know you'll always pick a form when you get there. But when you're back at the office, are you all comfortable as you, and is there anything I can do to help? Within reason, of course." A delving question. But one that she could answer honestly.

Princess was someone used to questions. Questions of who they are, what they are, why they are eating fried hands, normal things that most people would think of. All things that she had no true answers for. How does one quantify self when one's being is but a thousand fractured shards of glass that grind against each other in s semblances of screams and cries begging to come out?

How does one express the limitations of form to a person who has ever known themself? How does one express the deep seated loss of something integral to what make you you when you cannot even remember or express what that thing was in the first place? How does one describe such an utter loss of self as to know you once existed as a thing greater but no longer have the frame of reference to even know what is missing?

To her, skin was not something to be comfortable in, it was a stop gap. A binding to keep her together because what else could? What else could keep fragments of what was together if not something piecemeal? Something that in of itself consisted of thousands of pieces? Can one call a bird by its name if it had no feathers? Could a book be called such if it had no pages? Can one narrate life without a voice?

The princess does not know, nor does she know exactly how to voice it. So warped by others perspectives she no longer has one of herself, merely a funhouse mirror of blinding cracks. Even James, sensible James of the stalwart minds, kept her on the edge of something human and something like…static. Something based in fear and masks and tearful eyes afraid to look back, a nightmare for her and certainly for him.

“No,” she says with a modicum of cheeriness. “No, there is nothing you can do.”

Her smile is fragile.
We discussed ideas, but never actually got anywhere beyond the basics

William Aubergine

William did not know the people next to the entrance, and frankly had little care for learning who they were compared to what they stood next to.

Duck Billed O'Malley was an old face, an acquaintance and little more. William worked on him as a favor when a colleague was on sick leave, but that was years before he even heard of Wonderland. Least until…

Point being, the mechanic did not expect to see the leprechaun up and around anymore. Much less here, with these strangers.

Each step echoes in the cold night, doing little to deter their conversation even as they turn towards him. One seemed on the edge of a greeting when the staticky whine of a television screeched out, one of them turning on to reveal… Jack.

Jack the Jackolope, Handsome Jack, the Jack of The Box zone, even the Jack of a limited time card set. It's a face that even after this long it's easy to recognize for anyone from this town, but it's deeply familiar to William. His hands had wondered every groove of that face, astonished at the lack of seams and how quietly it ran. ‘Now that's an inventor's secret’ Greyson would always say smugly, tapping the side of his nose with a shine in his eye. William always thought his face was off. Maybe that spark was the memory of something haunting? He had seen the same thing many times himself in mirrors.

History matters little except where it has led to, and in this moment it leads to him barging forth to follow the Duck inside the Wonderland.
A Slice Of The Action

The Princess

It was a nice day, one of moderate temperatures and decent clouds to provide shapes to draw the eye. And hands at that, as she whittles away at a sketch book. That cloud looked like a bird, the other one reminded her of that sour face that James so liked to have around her, and that third looked like Phenomaman!

Actually… It seemed far too colorful for a cloud. And agitated.

Wait, what time was it?

The sun seemed lower, even if it was nowhere near dusk. Which would mean…

Was she late to work?

“Are you…my partner?” She asks the floating man calmly, appearing in control.

“Thats right girly, Fenom! At your service.” The colorful man was as boisterous as his costume would suggest. “We need to head over to this pizza place and help out. Frankies.” He twitches a bit.

“Oh! Apologies, I got my head caught in the clouds.” She closes the book, handing it off to a nearby bird before standing up. Princess felt a bit small next to Fenom, even more so then normal. That just wouldn’t do, they need to make up time! Short people can’t move fast after all.

The solution? More legs of course!

Princess takes off down the street, and somewhere between the third and fourteenth step did two legs become four and the heat become slightly more noticeable. Mostly cause all of the fur. Despite having much better hearing now, she does fail to hear the man behind her telling her that she went the wrong way, before half-heartedly following her.

Suffice to say, they started off on a poor note and arrived to their mission rather…late.

Late enough that from the parking lot they could see something…off. Even beyond the man who just got thrown through a window that repeatedly fixed and broke several more times.

Stepping in provided no further context, merely further confusion. Exasperated even more so by the static voice of James trying to give them orders. Princess does the sensible thing of approaching the one man around who seems to be keeping things some degree of functional.

“Oh thank N’Seth you’ve arrived!” The uniformed man somehow balances a stack of boxes on an arm that seemed unhealthy squidlike. “Look uh…” He takes a moment to look over the duo. “Cat thing, help move ingredients in the back and protect the workers. Big guy, you look nice handle the counter and phone. I will try and fix this. I just need room to breathe and to not get fired.”

Princess and Fenom simply exchange another set of looks before the furry cat jumps past the beleaguered man to the back, the very hot back. Right next to all the ovens.

Yeah that’s a good idea! Might be hard to have them engage with the adventures if they’re hating Caine the whole time 😆
I’m excited to see your OC!!
I think we can get the RP started soon. I’ll officially play Kinger along with my OC but I realized while also controlling Caine for our first adventure, I will have to pass on Jax. Should I put like a status update to get another player or two?

Or @Redking0380, do you plan to play any CCs?

I am on edge and thinking it all over
William has no idea what he's walking in to.

Oh I'm not talking about the park.

I'm talking about the three fools in front of the park, two of them casually talking about fairies and the supernatural while Loch is just standing there being like "I-I just thought we were dealing evil corporations and super advanced AI and maybe ghosts today. Nobody told me we'd be dealing with the fae! I feel wildly unprepared!"

Hey now, I have a big iron on my hip and far to much Willingness to pistol whip anything with wings

William Aubergine

Light after Light went by, illuminating the rough roads William knew these streets, knew these paths, but the shadows drew long over them. Crafting a background of fingers that grasp at the edges of the windshield.

In this gloom the white paint of his van appeared more dingy, more gray with stormy undertones rippling in between each beam that rolls over it.

Such weather would be fitting for this night. Ever roiling thunder interspersed with blinding lightning, heavy raindrops to provide a staccato to sorrow and dogged determination.

But such things do not come. Only tires on asphalt serve as the ambiance for this forsaken ride.

The only thing that could be claimed as a positive for it was the time, short as it was. In the old days the drive was a bonus, and a reason why he had transferred to the Wonderland. The pay may not have been as good, but the gas saved was more than enough.

Still, one would want such a momentous moment to… last longer. Instead of seeing the destination to ones journey within ten minutes.

Parking was strange, his spot was still there. Not unexpected given the nearly empty nature of the lot, but something just felt like it was… diffrent. Different enough to assume his spot wouldn't be marked, or empty, or nearly perfect.

But nearly empty and actually empty were two different things, and he could not help but wonder who exactly was here. Perhaps those who contacted him? Perhaps someone else who had been?

It matters little. He climbs into the back of his van, one that once held tools and parts for mechanical life, and gathers his weapons. Perhaps nothing will be hostile in this place, perhaps nothing will be found but dank halls and old stains, perhaps…

He checks the chambers of his revolver, gives the axe a quick grind, and hesitates at the knuckles. They were clean. Meticulously so. A gift, one given by his father-in-law. ‘So that you can bust in the teeth of those fools who flirt with a married woman.’

Brutal that man, so unlike his daughter. But brutality has a place, he slides them into a pocket.

The husk known as William Aubergine steps out into moon light and approaches an opened gate, axe held almost lazily over a shoulder.
The Iron Dragon

Speed was not a thing that Catherine prided herself in, much more content to take things at her own pace instead of rushing things along to mistakes. Yet even she was ashamed at only getting two steps in before being pulled back to safety and watching the others act.

Yet, it was not all for naught. A step back allows one to gaze upon a canvas to search for things that need fixing after all. Here is no different. Catherine may not quite see the smears that the tablet woman mentions, but what she does say sparks an idea. She wants variety? Then the Iron Dragon can oblige.

It much easier to approach the massive beast now it has moved closer, a dozen steps taken in a second with momentum transferred into leap. Height and distance more then sufficient to launch her towards the goal, that being the back of the dragon.

One hand snaps out, grabbing at bits of wire that still wrap around it even if they are a bit melted, a yank showing their sturdy construction as they are able to take her strength and allow them to be used as barding. A roar being choked out as she directs its neck and head to slam down into the asphalt.
Out of curiosity, who is Patch?
<Snipped quote by rush99999>

It would merely be a response to Loch and O'Malley. Just character interaction.
