Sup im sword just got here and am getting a feel for things.
Well i got a feel for things and i think ill stay... also recovering from spine surgery sucks but is better than ending up in the emergency room again.
well that took a little while. i hope you all dont mind a little action to start your morning. also dont mind Harold even with your best efforts he will only survive for a few more hours but you can all control him if you wish lol.
It was dark out when he woke up and was able to get out from under the building. Half of the caravan was missing, with the other half torn apart and riffled through. He checked his gear and himself for injuries before he began the slow process of tracking. At least he had a bit of luck they were dragging something big and bloody, more than likely the Brahmin that was carrying their things. The super mutants were holed up in some old building, the place didn’t have the best security and Gorge was inside their perimeter before he knew where he was.
He was quiet at first, these mutants here looked stronger but were definitely less intelligent than others. Still, they had hounds rather than centaurs so that was new. He knew it was going to be hell when the shooting starts, and they have to run, hopefully they can’t track to well though. He continued through their camp cautiously, he had already killed two of them breaking their necks with a swift punch and catching their bodies before they hit the ground to hard.
The building had little for defenses other than the normal barbwire and spikes pointed around with fires going here and there. The smell was something one would have to warm up to a mix of rotting and mixed meats of all kinds. Crammed into baskets and nets.
The front door did creek a little as he opened it and moved in, being as careful as he could. Through his extensive training and the small bits of cloth patched in between the armor plates to act as buffers the large mutant crept through the building.
He could hear movement all around him but the one thing he was zoning in on was someone moaning in a nearby room. It sounded as if the person was in pain. He kept moving closer and closer keeping aware of his surroundings until he could see through the missing glass in the door. It was Harold, he was alive.
Gorge was quick to open the door and get to his friend, “Gorge is that you?” he tried to prop himself up against the wall only to falter. The ghoul was missing his left arm and right leg, his usual western style clothes were ripped and torn, and he had a stomach wound. All seemed to be patched up if not poorly. The man was still sitting in a pool of his own blood.
“Where are the others?” the Armored mutant asked, the ghoul simply shook his head, “their gone” a shaky sigh escaped him, “either dead or taken somewhere else with the majority of the muties” he coughed and looked up at his friend, “I fear this will be the end of me.”
“Come friend, I’ll get you out of here.” Gorge was careful to pick up his friend who grimaced with pain as he was picked up, “there was a settlement near here, Salem right? Maybe there is a doctor there” Harold smiled, “that hope of yours is going to get both of us killed.”
The moment was ruined with a yell from outside, “Hey! Intruder! Some ones here our guards are dead” Gorge could only shrug as he made sure his Gatling laser was secure on its strap around his shoulder, “once we get out your gun and a few other things are in that bag at my waist. Get them out and ready when we get clear.” Harold could only nod as they burst through the thin door toward the main door.
His shoulder went through first, the main door crumpling as the armor moved through it. The mutant on the other side caught unaware and sent to the ground temporarily dazed. The large armored figure kept moving, running quickly away from the building with a prisoner in hand. With the sky lighting up with a dull blue while the sun began to rise over the sea.
Gorge had been running for some time, stopping now and then to count their pursuers or check on Harold’s injuries. Six super mutants and two hounds were tracking them through the common wealth. Gorge was careful to keep his heading the same setting traps or moving things to slow down the super mutants.
“Harold were getting close” the mutant spoke, breathing heavily as he kept moving. “Get a frag mine ready” the ghoul reached into the small canvas bag and pulled out the frag mine, “last one.” Gorge sighed, “and tear off some of your bloody shirt.” The ghoul hesitated but then began to tear off a piece of his shirt, “Kind of hard to do with one hand. Alright that’s done, now what?”
Gorge stopped in the middle of a small opening and crouched down next to an old car. He was careful to place the mine next to the engine and tuck the shirt up next to it. He armed the mine and continued to run, hearing the beep from the mine three times before going silent. Armed, was all he thought as he continued to move.
They were close now, they had to be. He could see structures that looked better kept than others in the distance. A sound behind him cleared his thoughts, two explosions in quick succession. The mine had been detonated which for him meant that they only had a lead on them of a couple minutes. He only hoped that killed the hounds or at the very least slowed them down.
He could see what looked like a partial wall and some guard towers, he couldn’t tell if they were manned and only hoped they weren’t openly hostile. Still, the large armored man ran as quickly as he could to both get away from the mutants and hopefully save his friend. He didn’t know if it was tunnel vision or that there simply wasn’t a guard, but he could hear people now but still couldn’t see them.
He did however see the turret in front of him the beeped and turned towards him but didn’t fire. Gorge set Harold down in a position where he would be covered and gave him his worn 10 mm pistol, “stay here, give me 10 seconds and pop off a few rounds in the air to draw those mutants in. I'm going to flank them” he could hear the mutants running, their voices of rage getting closer. No hounds, at least one good thing. “It’s not like I'm going anywhere” Harold smirked.
Gorge stood made sure his weapon was loaded and ready yelling out one thing before running off again, “MEDIC!” he paused for a moment to breath, “I need a medic over here!” truthfully he had no idea if he just sentenced himself and his friend to a quicker death. But they haven’t been shot at yet, so that’s a good thing.
He ran, he ran as quickly as he could directly to the north away from Harold, the mutants, and the town. With renewed vigor and anger he moved with purpose suddenly cutting to the left dipping around dead trees, broken down rusty cars, small hills and banks of dirt, and random debris strewn across the land. He could hear Harold fire six rounds from his gun and moved into a position where he could fire into the flank of the mutants.
Gorge could count five of them now, a few clearly injured. He waited patiently for them to get out into the open as they charged forward towards where Harold was. They took cover behind some old fencing and some cars roughly 50 yards from town. Gorge could see his opportunity, he brought up his Gatling laser and began to fire quickly killing two and grabbing the attention of the others.
Skills: Armorer, Heavy Gunner, Survival, Animal Friend, Repair, Energy Weapons.
Physical Description: Gorge stands about 9’8” and weighs nearly 772 Lbs. his skin is an olive drab color with splotches of grey across his chest. His body, like all super mutants, is mostly muscle with 75% of his body weight being muscle, 10% bone and soft tissue, and 5% fat. He has no hair and his eyes are grey in color. His skin is rough with wrinkles that cover most of his body and calluses that linger on his hands and feet. His voice can be a bit dry but due to his rather high intelligence, he does have a good vocabulary that seems to surprise the citizens of the common wealth. It should also be noted he has a branding on his right shoulder of the BOS symbol with a few numbers listed below it that are his serial number of sorts.
Note: this picture is similar to him... and is a bit bigger than I thought.
Personality: Gorge can be a bit brash towards others as well as blunt. He doesn’t beat around the bush and likes to get straight to the point. He understands that due to what he is, most if not all others are untrustworthy if not straight out hostile towards him, but does want to make friends occasionally. He prefers the company of ghouls who like him won’t die of old age as far as he knows and they like radiation like he does. He also tries to be approachable even through being intimidating, most people here in the common wealth aren’t used to a smart Super mutant and he does like to share his stories from time to time.
Weapons & armor/clothing: - He wears what looks to be a modified brother hood of steel’s standard knight’s grey and black T-60 power armor that covers most of his body and his head without blocking his senses, its modified to be a bit larger to fit him. The armor does have a compass, Geiger counter, a red head lamp, a radio communicator, and it uses small fusion cells to power them. He cannot take all of it off or put all of it on without help. It has been modified to slowly adjust to his growth for a number of years still to come. Although his skin does show through some gaps in the armor, he usually wears a cloak that covers most of the exposed skin. He has noted that most other people seem to think his modified large armor is either very new or very old depending on the person. - He carries a modified laser rifle that allows him to wield it like a pistol. Not very accurate but he makes do with it. - Gorge also favors heavy weapons like his main weapon, a modified Gatling laser. Mods include Beam Focuser, Boosted gamma wave emitter, large grip and trigger, and extra ammo storage for easier reloads. - When it comes to Melee, he prefers to simply use his armored fists and increased strength.
(Previous) Occupation(s): Captain in “The Masters Army” / Shock Trooper in the Brotherhood of Steel – Rank: Knight Captain / Caravan Guard / Wanderer
Faction: Formerly - the Master’s army - BOS / Currently – Looking For Group
Backstory: Gorge like other super mutants, doesn’t know who he was before his change, all he can remember is the pain. He was turned in 2163 and added to the ranks of the master’s army in California. During his time with them, the master realized that Gorge’s intelligence had not suffered like most of the others and in some aspects seemed to increase slightly. He was with them for some time before realizing what the master’s plan was. It bothered him for some time before he told the others he was going on a long range patrol looking for far away vaults with a group of others who felt the same.
He did receive one thing from the master he is thankful for, he was given a shot of a strange liquid the master said was experimental. The shot made him sick with extreme pain for many months after but didn’t kill him and after it was done he no longer felt the constant pain that the others felt. A pain that was accused of causing older mutants to become insane. It did not take him long to figure out the drug had extreme side effects as many of the others that were given it either experienced no change, or experienced extreme pain to the point of near instantaneous insanity.
So along with himself and the other mutants that chose to come along they set out east. It turned out to be a good idea, after a few years of slow travel they happened upon a group of Brotherhood of Steel soldiers. These soldiers engaged them and seemed to be impressed when they showed tactics and strategies that far surpassed the other super mutants they have encountered. After a tense cease fire the brotherhood of steel and his group of super mutants came to an agreement and where all drafted into the brotherhood of steel as shock troopers.
Most of the enemy’s he encountered in these trying times were robots or raiders. His squad was tasked with search and destroy missions, given a single point of reference and leaving for weeks at a time to destroy or capture specific objectives, locations, resources, or even people. This job was fun until it wasn’t. They were given an objective to collect an old world artillery piece for an airship only to find it gone by the time they got there and were subsequently ambushed. Gorge was the only one to make it out of the ambush and proceeded back to base with a failed mission.
However, when he got back to base it was deserted. Strewn bodies on the ground and weapon scorched walls of the camp where the first bad signs of what was to come. It only took him a little longer to figure out that he was alone, the base was abandoned, all radio channels were down or not talking, and he did not have the slightest idea of where they would have gone. He stayed there, at that place for a little while longer, gathering supplies and repairing his armor, clinging to the hope that someone would return like he did and he wouldn’t have to be alone. But alas, no one came other than the occasional scavenger.
So Gorge left, taking what supplies he would need and headed south. He was alone, this was not the first experience of this but the first in a long time. He hated it, constantly on the lookout, being chased and tracked by all manner of creatures that at the very least left him alone after seeing what he was, except death claws. In turn, he also hunted down a few raider camps and other lawless people, at least the brotherhood instilled some sense of justice in him. Stopping occasionally at settlements to trade, acquire maps, local knowledge, and the odd contract to clear out raiders or wildlife from certain areas or important structures for caps. He rarely took off his armor when at such places, brushing off questions with the explanation of a knight that got a little lost.
He did this for a few seasons, wandering the waste lands and helping out where he could but never feeling comfortable staying anywhere for too long. And on one stormy night near what once was Atlanta, he happened upon a fire fight. Raiders were attacking a caravan and seemed to be winning. It did not take him long to step up and take a good position killing off most of the raiders in a surprise attack, the rest fled a short time later with the unexpected surprise ruining their ambush. Gorge checked on the survivors and when he was sure they were all right he proceeded to leave before a raspy voice offered to pay him to stay. A ghoul named Harold offered him a job and a place among the others in the caravan, with most of their guards being killed and Gorge not really having anything else to do, he accepted. He traveled with them for many seasons, a rather rag tag group really. A few ghouls, a couple way ward slaves with broken collars, a few humans from all walks of life, and now a super mutant in Brotherhood of steel armor.
Everything went rather smoothly for a while, the caravan he was with prospered from better protection and intimidation for better prices. Gorge seemed to have finally found another group he was comfortable with and was glad to have some friends again. But a lesson he learned long ago was about to repeat itself, nothing lasts forever. They found themselves wandering through the common wealth on their way south to diamond city when yet again they were ambushed. This time it was different, this time they were super mutants. He was doing a good job at holding off the hounds and other mutants that charged forward. That was until one of them got a lucky rocket off that blew up a car next to him. The explosion pushed him back into a wall and the small two story building collapsed on him.
Other: He still has his holo-tag from the BOS and he can play the guitar and sing rather well... for a super mutant. However, he has to make his own guitar usually due to the size of his hands.
