Name: Kamahl Forest Walker, son of War chief Kam'Till Green Blade, War Priest of the goddess Rosamund.
Age: 26
Rank: Priest and Noble
Title: War Priest
Features: Kamahl is a strong and intimidating man, standing 6’6” and weighing close to 250 Lbs. His tan muscular body is adorned with many battle scars and ritual tattoos that spiral across his body in shapes reminiscent of vines and flowers. His emerald green eyes can be soft at times while piercing during most other instances. He has shoulder-length brown hair pulled back into a pony tail with a long black braded beard. Kamahl speaks with a deep commanding voice that one would expect from a warrior, however when in the right company he can be gentle with his voice and tone.
One can find the man dressing in clothing better suited to help one survive rather than look good, normally wearing leather armor under heavy clothes meant to protect the wearer from the elements. The under clothes tend to be brightly colored with unique patterns, while the outer layers are normally darker and more natural to help one better hide in the wilderness.
Kamahl
Shaman Robes
Strengths: + Jewel and Metal Appraiser – being that his people are known for mining and retrieving materials of value from deep and hidden caves through their territory, and that he has personally spent some time in the mines himself. Because of this, Kamahl is well versed in determining what kind of jewel and metal it is by touch and look, as well as value and at times where it came from. + Battle Master – Only the strong have the right to live. Nothing in life is guaranteed for them, from the moment they can walk they are trained to be hunters and warriors. These skills are essential for the nomadic peoples of the great forest, their skill in both aspects ensures the survival and benefit of the clan. Kamahl has excelled in this, he has slain many worthy opponents, from great beasts to noble knights, and he has proved himself again and again in the art of combat and warfare. + Primal Sorcery – Although unrefined, his magical prowess is powerful but taxing. Specialized in natural and elemental magic, he has spent the better part of the last nine years of his life practicing the use of his magic and combining it with his combative skills. All magic users are highly regarded as having been touched by the goddess and as such normally gain the status of priest or shaman, if they so choose.
Weaknesses: - Culture Shock – Kamahl has never been to these foreign lands and has only started learning their languages within the last two years. Because of this he still has trouble with some words when it comes to talking and reading. He is also known to be rude as he does not know the proper edicate when it comes to these strange people, his opinions tend to also be unpopular as he is simply looking out for his people and hasn’t really grasped the big picture just yet. All in all, it’s simply going to take him some time to get used to these alien surroundings. - Enemys Abound – Being from the eastern tribes and the history that comes with it has made many despise him and his people. Many thinking it as an insult that he would even be invited to such a council is insanity. His religion is also unpopular throughout the masses being commonly confused with having human and blood sacrifices as well as its followers using dark magic, being cannibalistic, and at times practicing necromancy or summoning demons. - Unfamiliar Politics - He isn’t very well versed in the political world of the Kingdom, he doesn’t quite know what everyone’s end goal is or understand the significance of it. He has been warned to trust slowly with these people by his father. Kamahl is not accustomed to how politics are dealt with in this new realm either and doesn’t quite grasp the art of subtlety.
Bio: Growing up in the great untamed forest was harsh and strewn with dangers, but Kamahl was lucky, he was born into a strong clan with a smart leader. The leader Kam'Till Green Blade, his father, had made many enemies in his life. Enemy’s that tried to kill him and his family on many occasions. There were a few reasons for this, first is that his clan was strong and held the most territory as well as control of the three permanent settlements for the nomadic people. These cities were important as they held significant religious importance. The next reason was because his father did something that no other war chief had ever done, made a blood oath with the king of Viexmeur, this was unheard-of for his people and to many, showed weakness and was dishonorable. The king and his father had made a pact, that in defense of the crown they would be rewarded with trade and food, all they had to do was stop large groups of raiders from crossing the mountains while trying to unify the tribes to be allies toward the crown, if called upon answer to the call of war, and protect his blood line till either it is destroyed or the Kam clan is extinguished.
This led to many conflicts with many other clans, but these clans were small and held onto old beliefs. Those that did not wish to uphold the new way of things were exiled or killed. Kamahl grew up fast, he was a natural warrior with a drive to do right by his father and bring honor to the clan. He was a great hunter quickly learning the feel and rhythm of the forest, learning how to track, hunt, and survive. His favorite thing to do was hunt the great beasts that stalked through the forest, bringing pride and honor with each kill as well as food and rare furs.
However, his life of freedom was drastically changed when he learned that he had a gift, what many called the goddesses touch to wield what the outlanders called magic. This magic was not shunned but almost worshiped, he was approached by many shamans and priests of the goddess to test him, to see if he was worthy. After a few years of rigorous trials and long sessions of training he was accepted to begin his training as a priest. This was a great honor as magic was a powerful force that granted the clans great influence over the others, and so he accepted his new abilities and responsibility’s eventually attaining the right to call himself a war priest. A title reserved to only the best and strongest Priests, whose skills in warfare were equally matched by their magical prowess.
When news reached them of the king’s death, his father was worried and upset. He was unsure if his replacement would still honor their agreement or as he described it, those outlanders can be strange and at times go against their words. Kamahl didn’t understand it, he had only been learning their language and culture off and on for the better part of this last year. The man wasn’t at all surprised when he was told he would be going there to sit on some council to advise some child queen, the only thing he was told before he left was to be kind, careful, and be sure to keep their pact true.
Quote: "Are you to meet death, before your place is taken?"
Province Name: Territory of Kam
Province Ruler: War chief Kam'Till Green Blade
Position: Far East past the mountains, hidden within the expansive Aborim Forests
Notable Attributes: this territory is known for its exports of rare gems and metals harvested from deep underground in secret caves, rare furs and plants, as well as its great warriors. Although not having the numbers of grand armies, the Kam warriors make excellent strike teams and body guards, some entire family’s within the clan could be bought as mercenary’s or be tasked with capturing or killing some beast that were causing trouble.
Description: The Territory of Kam is a strange and distant place, surrounded by thick ancient forests, danger lurks around every corner and the weak never fair well without someone to back them up. To a member of the Territory their very existence is to serve the Clan in some way, this can be done by doing honorable things, by gathering food, mining for minerals, or anything that would benefit the clan or Territory. Because of this the people there are very open with each other and communal, most things are shared and there is little that is considered personal property within a family, everyone shares so that all may benefit.
Their culture and people are also accepting of other people of religious belief as long as they don’t try to convert others. The only ones who are outright shunned are those that meddle in dark magic’s or human sacrifices, as dark magic brings about bad luck and their goddess reserves all life to be precious. However, with this statement everything must also survive and the priests and shamans of the goddess always preach keeping a balance.
The majority of their people move through the vast forest in small family communities, moving their tent towns to follow the migrations of the animals and move to where the plants are in season. The few permanent cities are in the oldest parts of the forest, suspended into the elder trees by ropes and bridges. One could walk for miles without touching the ground. These places are sacred because of their importance to the goddess, three giant white trees that act as conduits of magic for the priests and shamans of the clans. All are welcome to visit and worship here, however any damage that may come to the trees is met with swift justice by the ever vigilant honor guards who tend to the trees. The clans that do not follow the new laws are exiled from the forest to the great plains between the forest and the mountains, occasionally these exiles will band together but before becoming too large either the Kam clan or other kingdoms will strike them down before they become too powerful.
Was thinking about haveing him be the son of a chiefton whos clan swore a blood oath to the king and to protect the crown for a promise of trade or peace maybe
Had an idea about haveing the character be a shaman from the forest mountains tribe area. Location known for very good warriors/mercenary and jewles/rare metals.
The alley was small and tight, at one end was a tall fence at the other was a gate that looked nearly 8 feet high. Thick bars with four large hinges bolted into the brick buildings, and only a few doors leading into the cramped space. The French woman had already clambered through to the alley, her movements suggested military or police training, “watch her she will turn the others against you.” A strange voice echoed in his head, “they are already against me” he spoke aloud gripping his ax and synching up the straps on his pack while he waited.
The rest of the group followed suit, one at a time getting their things and getting out of the building and past the tall man. He stayed there waiting for them, looking past those that came through the broken door, it was a bottleneck. Right where he stood he could take down quite a few of the risen that followed and that was exactly his plan, let the others see that he was useful. After all, even if this group doesn’t exactly like him doesn’t mean that his chances of survival are greater with them. The only reason why they stayed honestly.
His attention was pulled from the door way for a moment as the Japanese girl spoke up, something about calling him death and asking for him to help the others over, “a little busy right now love” he spoke with a mock British accent. He found that sometimes it helped to lighten the mood, although he was almost certain that it would go unappreciated by this lot. He was telling the truth though, right behind the last person out that didn’t freeze and try to hide from the dead left the building. This gave him the opportunity to cut down the two risen that had followed them out.
He found it a bit odd at how others reacted to the skill and precision with how he swung his ax, after all it was heavy and unwieldy in the hands of the untrained. The ax itself was built for forced entry through doors, walls, and roofs. If used correctly it could also be used for leverage breaking locks and chains. He had noticed the chain on the gate but if he had broken it, the dead behind them would not stop their slow march toward them.
He held his own for some time, giving the others time to get over the fence with a smile on his face. With a laugh and a swing he finished off the last one he could, with more piling in to the building and flowing toward him. He couldn’t do this forever, and with the last girl making her way over the fence, Lucas finally decided it was enough and made a break for the fence. The other larger man with the jewelry spoke up saying something about how they were all pussy's for being unable to catch their fall. “Don’t worry King Arthur for I am a paramedic and can help those who become injured, I shall be your white mage” another strange reference from the strange man, yet it would seem he liked to come up with nicknames for the others in the group.
The girl that he couldn’t understand was still at the top of the fence when he got to it, she seemed unsure or unwilling to get off the fence and onto the other side. Lucas couldn’t wait and instead used his ax to help pull himself up and over the fence, the swarm was closing in and soon there would be no way out for any of them. The tall Norwegian’s focus was shifted momentarily from the fence to the others on the other side, the street was crowded, but they found something, a manhole cover or storm drain. A city like this would likely have well-built and maintained canals seeing as how this place was built on a swamp or at least from what he could remember anyway, or was that Amsterdam.
The momentary lapse in concentration made him forget about the other girl on the fence, she fell at a bad angle from him shaking the gate, “awesome another patient, let’s hope you last longer than the other guy.” She seemed reluctant and tried to cling to the other guy that was trying to help her up. “I won’t hear any if, ands, or buts young lady, now let’s get you out of here.” Even with the dire situation they found themselves in and the constant yelling and fighting, Lucas couldn’t help but smile and laugh, “ahh, now this is what I live for.” He forcefully pulled the girl up and put her arm over one shoulder while bending down to put his other shoulder towards her hip and lifted her over his shoulder.
With an ax in one hand and an injured survivor over his shoulders he moved quickly toward the manhole, taking advantage of the opening in the crowd the others created. He didn’t waste much time setting the girl down next to the hole and pushing her down feet first, one would think it cruel, but he knew he didn’t have the luxury of empathy at the moment. The girl screamed and landed with a splash, still screaming Lucas didn’t waste any time and quickly made his way down the hole as well.
Knee deep water had cushioned the woman’s fall enough to prevent further injury, but she was still screaming, “don’t worry you won’t drown” he spoke as he looked around and into the dark tunnels, "you could always hold her under. It would be quick and the others would never know" the voice was toying with him now, "quiet you." He allowed his night vision to kick in while peering down the tunnels, sounds of rushing water and seldom drops hitting the water below was all he could hear, other than the screaming of the girl and the others top side. “Clear” he called out while starting to pick the now sobbing girl up and over his shoulder again in the classic fireman’s carry.
Victor had been too concerned with trying to figure out why she would suddenly pass out to notice Joseph at first or what he was saying, but his best guess was simply that it could be a persisting condition. His thoughts were interrupted by something Joseph had said. The tall man glared at the cardboard clad man, “don’t call me Vic, where not that close.” It was true, Victor didn’t like being called Vic by people he hardly knew. There was a reason for this, a reason he quickly pushed out of his head.
The arrival of the rather tall woman he noticed earlier threw him off for a moment as he gave her a questioning look before seeing the badge, he moved out of her way but continued to kneel down close to Olivia’s head, “Joseph if she starts to have a seizure let go of her and back up.” His attention was brought back to the lengthy girl who held out a small note pad with a few things written down. He didn’t answer her right away, instead he glanced at her neck but couldn’t see any signs of physical damage.
It was Victor’s job to judge and assess people and his surroundings, a skill that was picked up and ingrained in him over his years of military service. It was a good asset to have in his current job as well, but this girl before him although showing physical scarring on her face in a strange arrangement didn’t have those same signs around her neck. This concluded his theory of why she couldn’t speak even in an emergency being, “Trauma” he whispered. Suddenly his eyes seemed to focus back on what the girl had written.
And with only minor hesitation, “Err no, no alcohol, I’m not sure about allergies or illnesses, and she seemed fine up until just a moment ago. Said she wanted to sit down before trailing off and falling, at least she didn’t hit her head.” The bearded man looked to the tall girl and smiled before looking around at the small group surrounding them, “oi! You all need to disperse some, you’re blocking the way to a fire exit.” Honestly he couldn’t care less that they were blocking anything, but he really didn’t like looky Lou’s. He also didn’t realize that when he sat up and waved the crowd off he momentarily exposed the black grip of his pistol on his right hip to those closest to him.
The crowd didn’t seem to move too much, he did hear someone in the crowd mention something about 911 as the paramedics showed up with a gurney. One of them was carrying a heart monitor and hooked it up while the other pulled him away to check her vitals again. The two easily moved the small girl onto the cart and only stayed to talk to Victor as he told them what happened and a few other witnesses, before getting ready to leave, “Joseph, grab her things and go with her. I do think she would appreciate it, just let her know I had some work things to take care of in the morning.” Truth be told, he wasn’t lying he did have a few work things to do, but he could always do them later. However, the man simply didn’t like hospitals, and she had his number anyway, so he didn’t see too much harm in it. Turning his attention back to the Tall Blonde he smiled, “thank you, it is very appreciated.” A small sentiment from one awkward giant to another as he watched the paramedics leave with her, momentarily having a small thought of where that kid went off to to get help.
