Goblin Gird
Figureing out where to go next with Luz /// Morning - Mid afternoon // Day 3

Gird looked up to the other goblin she seemed to be looking at him funny with two sticks in hand that looked a bit stronger than the ones they had gotten earlier. “What?” he gave her a weird look before looking himself over again. “That rabbit could smell us. It moved before I grabbed it. Now I smell like the forest and blend in a bit better.” He was still a bit curious about the rabbit hole and walked back up to it.

He reached out to grab the new stick only to feel the pain in his side from where he was bruised. He didn’t catch the new stick. Picking it up he moved it around a few times in his hand. “It’s a bit more sturdy and thicker, even looks like a different kind of wood.” He spoke loud enough for her to hear as she wandered off towards some trees. Gird made his way down into the hole finding it rather comfortable. She was right, there were a few stones and some berries at the back of the hole.

Emerging from the rabbit’s home he couldn’t see his friend but he could hear her in the trees. For a moment he was wondering what she was doing but lost interest with the thought of berries. The goblin split the berries equally into two piles he began looking over the stones. A few where rounded and small but a couple had sharp edges and points. Examining the pointed stones he was reminded again of his injury. A small price to pay. Yet, his eyes settled on something past the stone in his hands.

Girds vision had settled on the tree he was crushed against and walked up to it feeling the thick bark on the tree then his own side. The gears in his head began turning again ideas and thoughts of protection diving in and out. With the sharp stone in hand the goblin began working at the bark. Prying it away from the wood in one piece that could cover his bruise. Now that his stomach was full he could focus on other things.

After prying one small piece of bark off he looked back to the other goblin who had come down from the tree with some thin but strong looking vines and began to wrap it around herself. “Clever” he spoke aloud as he walked up next to her and then up at the tree with the ivy. He pondered for a moment how much he would need before climbing the same way she did cutting the strands of ivy he would need. The goblin then set to work weaving the ivy in and out of small holes in the bark. Slowly his creation began to take shape and the goblin finished wrapping the vines around himself. Mimicing his companion. The small pice of bark covering his bruised area. Goblin Gird did one more thing with the rest of the vines. He finished by wrapping his hands with the ivy doubling up the layers around his wrist and knuckles being careful not to make it too tight.

Once he was done he took a moment to look himself over and smiled at her, “so now that that is taken care of. Do you want to keep heading deeper into the forest or do you want to slowly make our way back towards the cave?” he paused for a moment as he looked around. Just because they had finished off the alpha didn’t mean that something wouldn’t be attracted by the smell of fresh blood. “Either way im confident I can find the way home. But I’ll follow you, it’s your turn to choose the path.” He smiled at her again while looking her over with her new stick as something came to mind. “O and if it helps I saw the other goblins with tools back at the cave. If you wanted you could probly strap that horn to the end of that new branch.” He felt more talkative now that he had something to eat too. Either way he would gather his new stick and berries before following her tucking the sharp stone in between the vines and his side.

The forest was calm and silent. A little too silent for the shaman. He had broken off from the others that marched toward the town. Being a shaman did give him a bit more liberties when it came down to it. The giant half-Orc half-Goliath needed to break away at times, he needed to get a feel for the area. Feel the spirits and their emotions, mostly pain and agony from these lost souls. Subtle foot steppes and growls of a rather large brown bear could be heard as it casually wandered towards the kneeling shaman. The bear and its many runic markings brushed against the shaman as it walked by.

“Did you find anything Artur?” he didn’t have to talk to it vocally, the two were bonded after all. They could just as easily communicate telepathically. However, Genthok has found that the others prefer him to talk normally whenever possible. The bear looked at him for a moment before continuing to circle the shaman. Genthok never could get words out of the bear, just feelings. And right now there were two that his companion was giving off, one said “No” the other was cautious. His instincts were true to the core, this place felt off, like a corruption was spreading through the forest.

The plants he had set out to gather where, strange. Mushrooms, vines, flowers, tree bark, and roots. All could be found here but they looked slightly different. As if mutated, if they were there at all. Whatever was influencing this place seemed to be coming from the direction the others had gone in. he had noticed he had been absent for some time, but he didn’t hear any signs of battle just yet. But, he had nothing left to do here, “I suppose we should head back then, Come on Artur” the bear grunted and followed the shaman back towards the others.

The subtle noise of hollow bone hitting the stone and tattooed runes that littered his body could be heard as he wandered up to Ardur. It seemed that most of the other captains and inquisitors had already gathered at their leader’s side. Such an action can only mean one thing. They were preparing to go into the town.

Then suddenly as if knowing of their intentions, someone or something spoke to their minds. For him it was painful, as he had a slight resistance to it. This telepathy was the same he used when communicating with Artur. He stood there quietly behind the group and listened then began to speak while this thing was talking. Really he was thinking aloud as his mind seemed occupied. “Telepathy?” looking to how the others reacted he could tell it was a new and strange experience for them. To him it always felt… cold.

“Mass telepathy. It’s strong and powerful yet somehow familiar… why?” the half-breed snapped his fingers and looked to Ardur, “War Chief” a name he called Ardur on occasion. “My instincts tell me we could be dealing with a demon or devil of some notion. The corruption that floods the surrounding forest from the town could very well be a hell gate of some kind.” He hoped he was wrong about the gate, he had only dealt with one before and it was only open for a few hours. Not only does it mean someone opened it, but they also sacrificed something grate to do so. Of course there was always the chance he could be wrong The voice ended but was replaced with thunder… no. replaced by an earthquake.

If I may War Chief. The one who spoke to us all. He seems to have a flare for the dramatic. I can only guess that this city and its people simply bored him. The skeletons on the wall, destruction of the city…” interrupted momentarily by the metal champion that seemed to be the source of the sound. “A champion in metal. We should prepare ourselves for horrors we cannot fathom. May the goddess bless us all.” Again he was cut off by a roar from this champion as it charged at them.

A few of the others took up positions and began to fight the beast, “Artur. Fall back and help River, you won’t be much help with this one. River he’s all yours” his brown bear roared back at the champion before taking position near where River was. The shaman slowly walked up behind the flanks and set his hammer down. The champion was getting very close now and his companions didn’t seem to be in position just yet.

Genthok drew a small bone blade from its place on his shoulder, his eyes began to glow brighter as he spoke, “payment is required in blood!” gripping the blade with his right hand and pulling it from his grasp with his left. “Willingly sacrificed!” Genthok made a fist with his right hand and raised it high. Crimson blood slowly dripping down his arm. The champion was drawing closer. The surrounding men began to question why they were there. Sure, a likely reaction when facing certain doom. “Hold your ground!” running his bloodied hand across his chest the runes began to glow the same color as his eyes.

A ghostly blue enveloped the runes and then his hands. The magic flowed through him, he could feel it in his very core. But, if he held on to this for too long it will consume him. With a great amount of force the half-breed slammed his hands on the ground. It looked like bolts of lightning, but they were running across the ground. The blue light branched out again and again under the feet of the soldiers. Then it bolted out from under them towards the giant. The ground in front of the soldiers began to crack and cave along the lines.

Genthok knew the giant was heavy, it’s metal after all and you can feel every step through the ground. This spell was a simple one all it did was destabilized the ground. He knew that this spell would more than likely not stop it. He only hoped that it would slow the creature down. “Come friends are you to meet death, before your place is taken?” a simple saying, but he said it with a smile on his face. “Today is going to be a good day.”
Goblin Gird
Figureing out where to go next with Luz /// Morning - Mid afternoon // Day 3

Gird tossed the horn to her before snatching a small flexible branch from the tree. The goblin carefully pulled one end of the branch through the fur and then the other through another place. Really all he was doing was getting it secured, so he could wear it sort of like a small cloak. He would need at least one more to replace this loin cloth of his. He wanted the material from the loin cloth to make something he could wear that could store things.

The goblin didn’t waste much time eating the tough meat, “I sure hope that not all of these rabbits are this tough.” Again the goblin smiled at her but his mind did wander back to the fight they just went through. The rabbit stirred and pulled away as he got close. He wasn’t being very loud, and he knew it was still asleep so it didn’t see him. He breathed in deep smelling the blood from their first kill.

Suddenly it came to him, they could smell him. That’s why the horned rabbit was startled and stirred from its slumber. How the hell would he mask that? The thought of mud cropped into his head. Thick, watery, can be used for good camouflage, and best of all smells like dirt. “Hey Luz make sure you check its home before we go for some better stuff. It also looks like we could also sleep in there too if we ever needed a safe place to sleep.” Gird smiled at her for a moment before moving to the outskirts of the small clearing. He was making sure he could remember how to get back here while he rubbed some dirt over him.

Goblin Gird
after the kill with Luz /// Morning // Day 3

Finally, the dam rabbit gave up, the final blow to its leg seemed to have put it out of commission. Gird was able to lift it up without too much resistance holding its back legs together with one hand. The goblin stared at the rabbit for a moment as the pain in the right side of his chest started again. He would have to be more careful next time, he just hoped the risk was worth the reward.

A slight wiggle in his hand brought him back from his thoughts. The bunny still had a little fight left in him but that was quickly dashed away when Goblin Gird let his anger get the best of him and slammed the rabbits head against the tree. The rabbit’s muscles tensed, a small squeak was heard and then slowly its body went limp. His anger would also be something to work on but for now his hunger was all he cared about.

Ripping into the fur at the rabbits neck with his fingers, Gird found it to be quite easy to pull the fur off the still warm rabbit. Successfully pulling the skin off the bunny he paused before going further looking toward his partner. “So that was intense. Good job though” he paused for a moment and smiled, “so your choice, you want the fur or the horn? Cuse we are splitting the meat.” Again he smiled, “we should check its home for anything useful as well.”

sorry busy last couple days.
Goblin Gird
Trying to make his first kill with Luz /// Morning // Day 3

He wasn’t expecting it. The sheer power behind such a creature. For a moment he had nearly lost his grip as it charged forward and out of the tree. He was keeping his hands full with making sure the point of the horn wasn’t pointing at him that he didn’t notice until it was too late that the bunny was pushing him toward the tree. The pain was certainly there for a moment but lost in the ensuing adrenalin rush.

Honestly he didn’t think hunting could be so crazy. Still, the goblin held his onto the horn. It didn’t look like his friend would be able to get a good hit on it at any time soon. That, and taking another hit like that would surely compromise any additional hunts he would have to go on. So in a moment of near desperation Goblin Gird slid his hand down to the base of the horn and through himself on the rabbit attempting to bite at its neck.

@EchoesofOld Well on the off chance Young doesn't come back I think it was your turn to post. If you want to attack the guard on her that's fine but if Roman gets to him he'll kill the guard. He has some feelings toward the N.O. he hasn't fully dealt with yet.
@OliveYou

just let me know when your ready and ill throw a post together about all of them getting on the VTOL and arriving at their new home... probly throw in a small safety brief during the trip as well.
