I'm surprised I'm not seeing more ideas popping up for rp's... I may be forced to try past ideas of my own, again, which I'm sure will go just GREAT...

Anyway, goodnight.

Do a lot of people conflate "simple" with "boring"? Because that would explain a lot.

Bio

Bios are stupid; oh, sure, everyone can see them, but I bet nobody reads them.

Rude hand gestures and shpadoinkle, there.

No, I wasn't drunk when I wrote this, but I was very tired.

@KZOMBI3Cool! feel free to pm me, and we can discuss what you have in mind for your character. I assume you're looking to play, and not co-GM?
I'm interested in running a horror game in a setting where supernatural elements are overlapping with the "normal" world, but, unlike an Urban Fantasy setting, or other horror themed settings, this overlap is recent, and not constant. Thus, it's not necessarily a common knowledge fact that this is happening, but people are aware of it, to some extent or another. Society being the way it is, people are still very reluctant to acknowledge what's going on, but are unconsciously adapting, i.e., people have stopped going out at night, etc. (expect a mix of more traditional monsters like things that could be compared to current mythologies like vampires and werewolves, but also "cryptids"; more "modern" monsters like The Dover Demon, Sasquatch, Chupacabra, and all manner of things that simply haven't been given a name.

No high powered psychic abilities, but, maybe some low level stuff, like sensing emotions or reading surface thoughts, with a lot of concentration, maybe even the ability to consciously sense other minds, subtle things. No magic, just, people working with what skills and resources they have either to investigate what's going on, or just survive, depending on the role a player wants to take on and how the scenario plays out.

Players are encouraged to make use of tropes as a jumping point for building distinct characters, with some obvious caveats; Tropes are not stereo types, per se, I do want to see some actual character. On that note, embrace being someone who's good in particular situations, and maybe average at best in others; avoid the extremes of "Can only do one thing" and "capable of many things but good at precisely none of them". Other than that, give other players a chance, ok? No speed posting.

In order to help me manage this setting and scenarios, I'm also openly inviting a more experienced member of this site to offer assistance as a Co-GM, responsibilities including: brainstorming scenarios for the players, managing npc's, and helping make decisions on where to go with a story.

Any interest? go ahead and say so, here, and we can start discussing your character for the main thread, either OOC, or in a PM.
revisions taking place, trying not to rush this, but I really want the part!

Update: lots of revision, but, hopefully this is a more cohesive, coherent bio/background! Still came out kind of long, but, at least it all should fit together better.
@tobiax Now he does
@tobiaxNo worries. I've made some changes, his background is just a little more detailed, now, with some actual hints at personality this time :P and best of luck to my fellow applicants ^_^
@BenG85 This has potential, but I feel it needs some revision to meet out standards. Perhaps a slight re-work and an addition of a bit more depth?

Sure, no problem. Were you just needing more detail, is there something there that doesn't fit well, or is there something in particular you want to see?
@BangoSkankThank you very much! I'm thinking in the near future I'll purchase a pdf of Beyond The Supernatural; a Palladium setting (because of course I'd favor that :P ) that's specifically modern horror! I've read Nightbane, which is arguably horror, but has a more action oriented feel with merely a horror aesthetic (and feels like somebody mashed Clive Barker's Nightbreed together with old WoD :P). 3.5 and 3.0 kind of leave a bad taste in my mouth; nothing against the game, just... Too many games with the wrong people, I guess. 3.0 was my introduction to proper ttrpg, before my older brother got me into Rifts, and it was good, but, at this point i have too many unhappy memories tied up in that particular incarnation of the game.

character submitted, crossing my fingers for Hope ^_^U open to suggestions on digimon, but, without creating originals from whole cloth, I thought I made choices that spoke to a character arc
OH, I forgot to mention, I'm also open to Digimon and Yu-Gi-Oh :P anime inspired stuff in general, but, original preferred these days, since I haven't been following all of what's popular these days
