((FIrst off, I would just like to mention some aspects. After doing some research, it appears that there’s a degree of complications and discrepancies in the timeline regarding House Tyrell during DoD. Since Lyonel Tyrell was an infant when the DoD started in 129, it suggests that his father, Matthos died at a very young age as it’s common for people to bear their eldest or first son as early as possible. And since the RP starts in 111, nearly 18 years before the Dance officially begun, I believe the easiest and sensible thing would be to shift history a little and change around the ages. Since the rp started before Matthos even died, I don’t believe the change in age would have any negative chain effects on the storyline as a whole. Especially since we aren’t going with canon all the way? But Mods are free to point out if that’s untrue.))

I would also like to respectfully ask for a Small Council position if possible. I don't think that'll be too difficult since a Reach house is essentially the Queen.

For someone of Matthos’s size and weight, his muscle mass is undoubtedly rather impressive as well. His broad shoulders and large chest matched by equally muscular arms and legs make him strong combatant in battle.

✹[Personality]: Matthos believes that the Reach could only be truly strong through strong and long lasting alliances. Like all the Tyrells before him, Matthos possesses a common interest in political intrigue. He has also shown to be more shrewd than his past counterparts, as he had been able to maneuver the political scale to solidify his role as regent. Despite being one of the most ambitious Tyrell Lords to date, Matthos lacks the desire of most for the Iron Throne. He believes that working behind the curtains is more beneficial than working with a crown on one’s head.

Matthos is not one who is prone to hasty decision making as he tends to think ahead before making his moves. It’s not abnormal for him to come up with various scenarios in his mind regarding what may happen if he was to take a specific action. Unlike his predecessors, Matthos views honor as an inferior trait. This has likely brewed from his ambitious personality as he believed that honor holds a man back from truly achieving what they desire.

✹[Skills]: Matthos has showcased a great amount of skills and abilities in his past. Not only is he a skilled swordsman, he is also a skilled marksman and horseman. Since a very young age, Matthos had been trained to use a variety of weapons, making him quite adaptable in combat. This has also made the young lord quite knowledgeable in weapons and combat. Matthos has taught himself how to adapt to various fighting conditions, including training to be more efficient while in full armor than most men would be._

_Scanning his surrounds has always been a talent that he possesses. Whether it be armor, weapon, appearance, or body language, all of this is something that Matthos would take note of from the moment they meet. During battle, it would take little time for Lucien’s eyes to find weaknesses in one’s armor before bringing his weapon down for the crucial blows._

_Aside from his fighting skills, Matthos is also a shred and keen diplomat, strategist, and tactician. He knows when to bargain and when to back down. As a child, Matthos had always been intrigued by combat and historical wars and battles. Through years of study, he had become extremely educated in these subjects. Since he ascended to his position, Matthos has been able to solidify the Tyrell’s rule over the Reach. As he is aware that many other Reach houses still press their claim to being Lord Paramount of the land, Lucien was able to find ways to appease many of said houses through diplomacy and marriages

The first is internal, in reference to the Reach itself. As many of its houses such as the Florents still desire the position of Lord Paramount, the Tyrells must turn to diplomacy and the building of alliances in order to ensure that their dominion over the Reach remains table.

The second portion of Matthos weakness lies in its age. In spite of the talents and skills he has shown in the last few years, Matthos is still not fully experienced regarding certain matters. For example, while he has received great training in combat, the Tyrell has yet to actually fight in any wars due to the Realm’s longtime peace. Regardless, such flaws has yet to deter Mathos in any way for he understands that one cannot grow without challenges in their path.

Matthos was also quick to show an early interest in court politics, a common trait shared amongst the Tyrell bloodline. This interest brewed from his teens and upon adulthood, Matthos had already familiarized himself with the political spectrum of Westeros. It wasn’t difficult for him to understand who is a friend and who is or may be a foe. Such knowledge has heavily influenced the young lord’s decision making process and has caused him to place and emphasis on building alliances.

Starting at the tender age of 8, his father took him on various diplomatic visits throughout the Reach in hopes of familiarizing the young lord of the lands that he would soon rule. Among these visits was the old and ancient settlement of Old Town. It’s there that Matthos became acquainted with Elena Hightower, close cousin to the main Hightower branch. Over the years, the visit to the old city became more and more common as the two eventually developed an affectionate relationship with one another that eventually brewed into a marriage between the Tyrells and Hightowers.

Matthos’ first trip outside of the Reach had taken place when he was 10. His father had taken his young son to the Crownlands as Martyn had to partake in certain businesses there. By the time that Matthos was 14, he would’ve already visited all the kingdoms within the Realm of Westeros, ranging from as far as the icy and blizzard filled lands of the North to the dry and blazing deserts of Dorne.

When Matthos was 19 years old, his father fell horrifically ill. It would be weeks before he would finally be able to leave his bedchambers. It was during this time that Matthos took up his father’s duties and governed the Reach. To his father’s and many others astonishment, Matthos not only excelled at his duties but he had also earned the hearts of the people through that time. Over the next few years, Matthos’s father repeatedly fell ill and the maesters weren’t sure what was causing his repeated fall into illnesses. Each time, Matthos would step up to take control over the house and each time, he would do so with great brilliance. Having already became used to governing the Reach from the previous occasions, Matthos was quick to adapt to his familiar position when Martyn finally stepped down when Matthos was 22 years old.

Being aware of the political landscape within the Reach, Matthos had turned his attentions on pacifying the various noble houses. While he’s aware of many of the nobles’ jealousy and envy, Matthos knew that he could keep them happy as long as the Reach continued to prosper under the Tyrell overlordship. As part of said efforts, Matthos had also borrowed the influence of the Hightowers to whom the Tyrells now share blood through marriage. Through the union and cooperation of the Reach’s two most powerful and influential houses, it became easier for Matthos to sway the other lords and ladies into prolonged loyalties.

Once the internal portions of his domain had been established, Matthos quickly focused more fervently on the political landscape of Westeros. Through years of political intrigue and the grasping of influences, Matthos was able to establish the Tyrells as a formidable opponent for all those that dare to oppose the Great House. By 111 AC, the Tyrell had grown to obtain a position in the Small Council as the Master of Ships.

Hey dude! Well, you've got to wait until you're accepted to get into the IC. Other than that, there are a few issues I've noticed with your sheet.

The first being the plasma: I'd nerf that just a little, making it capable of blasting through about ten feet of steel rather than annihilating total mountains. I think that's a pretty fair nerf. Other than that, I'd take out one of your manipulations, either electricity or earth.

If you do those, that seems like an acceptable character in my mind. Wait for Lmp's two cents though!

Gotcha. Anyways, I’ll change what you stated about plasma. While I’m fine with removing one of the two manipulations, would you be fine with instead of manipulating electricity, that my beast simply is able to conduct it. As he’s able to exert it through its body but defensive purposes only but not really use it offensively.

@Ruby@RisingSun Since this is actually being set almost 20 years before the Dance, the previous Lord Tyrell is most likely alive and healthy at this time.

True. I don’t recall finding anything about how Matthos Tyrell died so I think it’s safe to say that he’ll still be alive. That flew by my head. Thanks

CODENAME DEVOURER

The ground throughout northern Italy and eastern France shook violently as the mountainous Alps began to crumble. A secretive facility had existed deep within the Alps for decades. This facility was one of the many that served the simple but yet, vital mission of containing one of the world's most dangerous monstrosities. In a mysterious connection with the simultaneous failures of Outposts around the world, this facility's security and containment is in the midst of complete collapse.

Sirens screeched and red lights beamed radiantly within the facility as personnels raced for the exit. Security and staff alike could be seen scrambling for the doors as they shouted in terror. Those brave enough to return to the containment area would find the monitors flashing a crimson red color with the following warnings:

"No..this can't be happening!" One of the female scientists could be heard shouting in disbelief. Her eyes glued tightly on the monitors as she feared for the fate of humanity if this abomination were to escape. One could only imagine the wave of true horror that she would feel if she realized that these containment failures were occurring throughout the whole world. Dozens of Outposts are in the midst of collapse as she speaks, as creatures of all shapes and sizes emerge from the shadows of the Earth.

"We have to reinforce the containm..."

Her words were interrupted by the shaking of the ground below her as it slowly ruptured. Massive pounding could be heard towards the enormous steel gates behind the glass pane. The scientist stared intently, her heart beating with each sound of the pounding before a massive tail broke through the center of the gates, impaling one of the scientists attempting to find cover. The unfortunate soul screamed in terror and fright as his very body was slammed repeatedly on to the cold hardened ground. His body, which had struggled with life seconds earlier, were now as idle as a corpse.

A massive roar could be heard echoing throughout the entire compound as the ceiling of the facility started to crumble. It didn't take anyone of intelligence to understand that the entire area was in the midst of collapse. Shouts could be heard again as large falling boulders blocked the exits out of the underground outpost. People can be seen running in every direction imaginable as they desperately tried to escape. Some could even be spotted trying to desperately remove the boulders with their very hands to little avail.

As the ceiling above the female scientist cracked, her eyes closed shut as she simply accepted her fate. Within minutes, the place formally known as Outpost 26 was no more. The scientist along with all those who had been trapped were buried along with the facility.

The mountains sitting above the outpost turned into rubble as another roar could be heard vibrating through the mountain passes. From deep within the Alps, a beast of monstrous size erupted from the Earth. The creature stood at over 100 meters and measured nearly 350 meters in length. First came its head, followed by its large torso, and last, its long tail which served as replacement for its missing legs. With an Earth trembling cry, the beast wrapped its tail around a nearby mountain. Its irongrip combined with its strength created shattered the center, sending it tumbling down.

After being in captivity for decades and being forced to use alternatives to its food source, the beast was filled with a desire for destruction and vengeance against its human captors. From the rays of the morning sun, the creature began to absorb its energy as it slowly moved west towards the French civilization.
