Player Name: Ruby Character You Wish To Play: Thor Moral Alignment (Hero, Villain, Walking the Line): Hero Affiliation (what group/team/organization, if any, is your character affiliated with?): None. Character Origin & Backstory: It's fair that many with knowledge of Gods and 'Gards claim that the superhero calling herself Thor is, in actuality, no God. There is no evidence of a Thunder god and/or goddess in the current pantheon of gods, nothing except for a missing Thunder God where most agree prior Pantheons, in fact, had a Thunder God. This shrouds the current Thor in mystery and intrigue--both of which she tends to ignore, and isn't exactly fond of speaking to. Despite those with knowledge fairly believing there is no current God of Thunder, their evidence is faulty, as the woman claiming to be Thor is, in fact, a divine figure--the product Gaea and Odin. She was briefly raised in Asgard, though Odin has gone to great lengths to erase any memory of her in fellow Asgardians. And he did so out of pure spite and anger. It was Gaea who pushed Odin to send Thor out of Asgard; not sending her to Earth, but instead sending her to grow and mature as she transversed the spaceways. Feeling cheated out of his daughter, Odin moved to erase Thor from Asgardian memory--her only mentions coming in vague tales of their mythos. Odin would not be seen as weak, having been cheated out of a daughter. Instead, he would pretend it never happened. A plan that worked for a very long time. With great success...until a year ago to the day, when Thor first appeared during a massive earthquake and subsequent tsunami event in Indonesia. Months later she would appear again, cleansing the Gulf of Mexico from a BP oil spill. Yet again a few months later, this time in Hawaii to divert the lava flow from an erupting volcano from decimating a large town on Hawaii's second largest island. So the pattern would, and has, repeated: whenever mother nature causes the kind of chaos few heroes can do anything about, Thor will appear, brilliant and bright amongst the clouds, with lightning and thunder at her back, and an oversized hammer cliched in her right hand--to do what can be done, typically for the Earth and it's wild animals.....rarely, it has been noted by media outlets all over the world, does Thor interfere to save humans. Only recently has Thor decided to investigate just what befell Asgard and Odin after her departure to the cosmos, starting her investigation in the mortal frame, disguising herself as a Meteorologist student at Columbia in New York City--as cosmic experience has told her to blend in with the locals of any planet, if she wants to find out any information without Thor causing headlines and ruckus.

Asgardian/Elder God Hybrid Physiology: Biologically half-Asgardian on her father's side and half-Elder God on her mother's side; Thor possesses a number of superhuman attributes common among the Asgardian and other gods. However, due to her unique birth, some are considerably more developed than those of the vast majority of her race. Thor's skin, muscle, and bone tissues have several times the density of the same tissues in the body of a human being, contributing to her superhuman weight. She is invulnerable to powerful energy blasts, weighted impacts, falls from great heights, explosions and various other opposing forces. Even without her godly power Thor is still physically the strongest and most durable of all the Asgardians. Life-Force: also known as the God-Force. The godly energies that fuel all of Thor's godlike powers. Thor's immortal life-force is more powerful than the mystical properties of Mjolnir. Unlike many other deities, Thor's unique Life-force allows her to have full access to all of her powers regardless of what realm she enters. Superhuman Strength: In addition to being the Goddess of Thunder, Thor is also the Asgardian Goddess of Strength, as such she is physically the strongest of the Asgardian gods. Invulnerability: Being a god whose heritage is both half-Asgardian and half-Elder God affords Thor virtual invulnerability and immunity to such human ailments as diseases, toxins, poisons, corrosives, fire, electrocution, asphyxiation, and lead and radiation poisoning. Thor can drink mead all day long and not become drunk. Thor is extremely difficult to kill as her life force is considerably augmented by her godlike heritage, and Mjolnir. Superhuman Speed: Thor can move at extreme speeds. Thor can fly to the sun in a matter of minutes. She can throw Mjolnir at several times the speed of light, and also swing Mjolnir at several times the speed of light while her strength was reduced in half. It has been established that the speed of Thor's hammer transcends both time & space. In addition, Thor can appear anywhere across the Universe or other dimensions in just seconds. Thor has stated that she is as fast as the lightning she commands. Superhuman Stamina: Thor's advanced musculature is considerably more efficient than that of a human and most other Asgardians. Her virtually inexhaustible stamina enables her to hold her breath for an undefined period of time, and exert herself at peak capacity for months without tiring at all. Superhuman Senses: Thor's superhuman sense's allow her to see objects as far out as the edge of the Solar System, allow her to track objects traveling faster than light, and hear cries from the other side of the planet. Healing Factor: Thor is not invulnerable to all harm and it is possible to injure her. But due to Thor’s unique physiology she is able to heal from most injuries much faster than a human being could. This healing factor is said to be much stronger than that of the typical Asgardian God. With the use of Mjolnir, Thor can also regenerate her clothes. However, Thor cannot regenerate lost limbs. Longevity: It is a common misconception that Thor and the other Gods of Asgard are truly immortal. Thor and the other members of her race do age but at a rate so slow that to other beings they give the appearance of immortality. Thor has been stated to be thousands of years old which makes her life span incomparable to that of the human beings which she protects. Super Breath: Thor can use her breath to create hurricane force winds. Flight: Thor has shown the ability to fly and levitate without her hammer. Self Sustenance: She is capable of surviving in the vacuum of space unaided and does not need air, food, water, or sleep. Earth Control: Always closer to Gaea than Odin, Thor has accepted her heritage as a child of the Elder Goddess Gaea and gained the ability to control the Earth. The scale and reach is yet unknown. Transcend Dimensions: Given her cosmic adventuring past, Thor has plenty of experience with pocket and separate dimensions--and seems more than capable of determing their boundaries, and transversing them at will. Energy Manipulation: Thor has stated that she relies on the power of Mjolnir too often. Mjolnir does afford powers and abilities that she would not normally have, but Mjolnir is a tool, and Thor has natural energy manipulation abilities without Mjolnir. Powers she has little experience with, and more intuition than actual working knowledge of. Lightning/Electrokinesis: Thor usually uses Mjolnir to channel her storm abilities but she is capable of discharging lightning bolts from her hands. Rain: Thor can summon rain without the use of Mjolnir. All-Tongue: Thor has the ability to speak any language in the universe, no matter how ancient or obscure, given any exposure to the language. Including the languages of Earth and Sky, including the universal language of mathematics. A skill sharpened over time during her cosmic travels. Primary weakness: The biggest chink in Thor's proverbial armor is Mjolnir; if Thor loses the hammer for whatever reason, her power levels begin falling off to merely Asgardian levels. Thor has speculated if she loses Mjolnir for an extended period of time, she'd become nothing more than mortal. Though the truth of this statement is unverified.

Sample Story Arcs. Food Fights: Thor arrives at an alien planet only to find the humanoids that rule the planet at war with what the aliens believe to be unintelligent sea-beasts. In reality, the war was started when the aliens began harvesting sea life for food at such an alarming rate that the non-humanoid sea creatures were unable to re-populate adequately; igniting a war that threatens the very planet. Thor is able to speak the telepathic language of the sea-beasts, thus ending the conflict with an agreement between the aliens and their very much intelligent sea-beasts. The Lost Girl: Thor arrives upon Earth at the call of Gaea, only to find a planet in chaos from extreme weather and even more extreme abuse from Earth's humanoid populations. After months of what she calls "divine clean-up", Thor decided to stay on Midgard and learn; creating a mundane alter-ego, and starting college. Her first challenge? Midgard female fashions. Her second challenge? The S.H.I.E.L.D. agents undercover at the University, searching for the Thunder goddess' they (correctly) believe to be hiding out in sheep's clothing.

"Oh. Hello." The man spoke the words as if he'd turned around, and casually bumped into a stranger on the street. But there was nothing casual in that very moment; when the S.H.I.E.L.D. agent turned to find not just a stranger, but the Goddess of Thunder in full Asgardian battle armor, the long and flowing cape pinned to her shoulders like a supernatural shadow never straying too far from the goddess for too long. The agent's Glock pistol was slowly lowered, as the mortal man realized he might as well had been holding a water gun at the suddenly appeared godling--for all the good it would've done him. "Greetings, mortal." "...you, uh...out for a walk, or something?" His curiosity was kept low and distant, though Thor could sense the emotions of the man: he wanted like nothing else to know why the Goddess had appeared in the super secret S.H.I.E.L.D. facility carved out of a mountain side. It was all the man could do to restrain himself. And that was just THIS mortal--not counting the small army of mortals just down the corridor, waiting on the edge of action should they be called in to confront S.H.I.E.L.D.'s uninvited guest. "No." Her tone, like her attentions, were divided; she responded to him in a low, distracted, tone. As she was contending with him, she was also monitoring every mortal soul in the secret facility. Though the lion's share of her attention went to the secret facilities rows upon rows of mainframes, and the information electronically stored upon them. That computers were dependent on electricity made them largely subject to her willful manipulation. When there was information within one of the electric boxes she needed, her intuition alone was enough to take the information, while still leaving it within the motherboards in which it was electronically stored. "No?...huh." Then he chuckled, like something funny came to his mind. "I only ask because this is a top secret facility not even the US President knows about. So I'm REALLY curious as to how the fuck you knew about it, got in, and just what in Hell you think you're doing here." "Your 'Hell' is a place of fiction. I seek information on real dimensions." "Right...who are you?" As light flashed off a freshly drawn blade, so Thor's lips pressed into what flashed to the mortal agent as the mere hint of a smile. "I am Thor, Goddess of Thunder, and I seek Asgard."
