Current I'm a pretty good writer and former site staff; I still deal with imposter syndrome every time I log on. You're definitely not alone. And t's worth trying anyway.

Don't worry, D3AD ST4R, most of us feel like that. <33

I just finished The Secret History, a very Gen X book. Never Let Me Go before that, which I'd recommend to any writer outside the MFA atmosphere who wants to know emotonal restraint.

Jokes aside, actual opinions have been added to the sheet!

And I may have gotten a bit carried away length-wise so sorry about that

Rather appreciate the one for Alpha, considering Alpha's impression of Alex.
@Ruby
Yes ruby, that would be wonderful if you could give me some heads up about it~

Sure! It seems to me Alpha would try to get Kass to see and care about more than the mission, nudging her away from that tunnel vision, while also very much encouraging the reading and daydreaming, embracing fellow Children. Alpha would try to be as honest and forthcoming as she could be with Kass, though naturally there are limitations akin to a moment of lost in translation.

But she'd still try.
Alpha's initial impressions are up. Because of the nature of the character, they were not easy to write. (Well, except one.) So hopefully you all enjoy.

I know I'm missing characters; I just went off the roster. Will fill in with others soon. Questions/comments about her impressions, feel free to let me know.
@Ruby He doesn't drain anything, he simply nulls it. He is like the counter to Eve and the powers that derive from her genes.
Though I can say that he can nullify only a limited amount of her powers if you'd like.
Edit: Rather than limit the amount he can nullify, maybe #1 has such an understanding of each individual's powers and especially from where her powers come from that she uses her own powers to block out Nile's effect on her.

@MonkeyBusiness Well it's not more about power than it is from where they derive the power. From Eve's genes. He just turns the power off.

Could be Alpha's so close to EVE that trying to nullify her is like trying to nullify solar energy if you're standing on Mercury.
@RubyAnd the fact that being near him cuts Alpha off her omniscience

Would it? Very possible, maybe even likely, that she can generate more energy than he can drain from her. Maybe much more. Maybe exponentially more. Who knows.

I'll certainly have to consider what affect on her he might have.
cant wait for this to start, i dont know who Kass would interact with the most...

Might be worth contemplating those relations. Let me know if I can provide any information that'd help you get a better idea of any Kass/Alpha interactions.
@Ruby
It'd have to be a Child more aligned to the IOS because he doesn't trust normal humans since they are the ones shocking him, cutting off bits, e.t.c.

I think he's going to have a meltdown if he ever finds out that a friend betrayed him, not like a "Rarrgh I'm angry" more like... grief anger, lots of pointing, stomping, smacking equipment around, and doing the closest thing he can to crying. He's equal parts grown killing machine adult and lost child.

That sounds like it'd be a fun scene to write.
@Ruby

Something along the lines of letting him bind to her briefly while she gives him a vision of the divine. But again, I'd rather this a bit further ahead so she's already well-established with the Hydra and can better understand Ansel's impulses.

Shouldn't take long; Alpha is as connected to the Hydra as she is to every other facet of the universe.

Everything and everyone is stardust to her, first and foremost.

It's possible Alpha may be one of the few who isn't negatively impacted by the binding, but in reverse, may negatively impact HIM to bind to her.

Like eating way too much, way too fast, and the food you were eating is exotic and spicy in ways you've never imagined before. Lots of possibility for character development and drama there.
@Ruby
Yeah, alright cool. He'd definitely keep it to himself except for the other Children he considers "friends", kinda like a kid pulling a someone over to tell them a little secret.

Precisely why I mentioned that aspect of it for him.

If you're interested in development of him, could have him tell some Institute peep his considers a "friend", and have to process that "friend" spilling said beans.
