Dr. Tress is a very stable personality who is viewed by her own race as aberrant because she is able to disconnect from them for extreme periods of time. Prolonged and open association with Counselor Trix has revealed a possible basis for Dr. Triss’s ability to disconnect that lays in her higher gauss sensitivity when compared to others of her race which she uses to adapt her own to mirror her close companions.
Highly dedicated to her role as a healer Dr. Triss has a very good rapport with her patients and those she works closely.
As a follower of the Philosophy of Sana the Long Spear a revered female in her people’s history she is person that believes when not engaged in her duties she must live life to its fullest. (Sanites are dedicated to social justice, protection of the weak, and believe that Life is a gift not to be wasted. This later part colors them as among the happiest and most positive of their people)

Ko Sectii in an O-Class Planet 69,392 km in circumference 87% covered by water with a gravity of 1.67 standard.
On a large elliptical orbit 2.35 standard years around it’s sun Ko Sectii is marked with extreme summers and winters 56c/-18c
(It is this annual cycle and it’s ecological pressure that is why the race was made amphibious by the race they say made them some 60,000 standard years ago to colonize their world as slaves. Starfleet medical has confirmed that they were genetically manipulated in the time period they claim.)

Biological Information on the Ko Sectii people
The Ko Sectii are an amphibious race and as such can withstand pressures up to 100 atmosphere with little to no effect except an increased need of calorie intake.
Air breathing mammals, they must breathe air every 20-35 minutes depending on their physical activity levels.
They have a normal body temperature of 41.88 C/107.4 F making them literally hot blooded though this is only detectable by scans because of an efficient cellular insulator membrane giving the outer surface of their skin a mean temperature of 37.3 -and 38.2 C ( 99.14 and 100.76 F) a humans being 33.5 and 36.9 C (92.3 and 98.4F)
As diving mammals they developed or it was genetically manipulated in the Ko Sectii an odd psionic ability they call Mev or Mev a wess which translated means Hearing Life. Mev is akin to the sharks of Earth’s ampullae of Lorenzini used to detect the bioelectric fields of living beings around themselves and can be used as a communication method between members of the same race. In the water is where this talent is at its best and has a range of around 400 meters for general location growing more accurate the closer they get to prey. Outside of water their range is limited to 20 meters in the best conditions and grows shorter in areas that are under higher gauss radiation.
Mev as they developed a better Scientific understanding of the body became a tool used by the healers of their race to detect aberrations in the bioelectric fields of their patients a skill that was cultivated as far back as 9,000 years ago which coupled with selective breeding developed the genetic line Mev Ra an offshoot of the Ad Nir or Noble blood lines. (Think of Mev as a sort of simple biological tricorder set to a limited frequency)
Due to the genetic manipulation of their race in antiquity the Ko Sectii suffer an extreme Female to male birth ratio (50-62 female births for each male birth) and also Males suffer a low fertility rate some 23% born infertile. It is this disparity that makes the Ko Sectii so protective of their males and as a result their offspring. This is reflected in the “Law of Bone and Blood” which punishes any who harm a male or child in like injury even before any legal proceedings which levy farther punishment based on intended harm and or negligence.

Personal History before Star Fleet:

Born 2314,04,01 Stardate 8751.47

Triss is a Kanid (Female to Female) child her Oma (Donator) Selenia Empress of Ko Setii and her Nes (Gestator/Mother) Mev Ra Herendi head of the Mev Ra society of Birth and Bloodlines (Selective Breeding).

One of some 900 daughters of the Empress in the 10 henc solar cycle (23.5 standard years) and as such considered of the highest caliber among her race and was a selected Oma after her first cycle (2.3 standard years) because of it and paired with 23 of the Ad Nir bloodlines. Her Zchen (Youth) 12 solar cycles was spent in the creche of her Nes Herendi among 15 sisters and 2 brothers studying the lessons of the Mev Ra to hone her ability to a fine degree of control.

Gained Majority 2342 Stardate 19615.64

Once she reached Pari (Adulthood) Triss was given to Mev Ra Glic as one of nine Mev Ra students where she excelled in her lessons displaying honor to her Oma an Nes becoming a sought after Oma herself and responsible for 43 daughters by her graduation and may have joined a Gil and shared a male except she’d met a Federation Doctor Karen Winterborne who fascinated her with her skill as a healer.

Commander Dr. Winterborne CMO of 173 a Federation Starbase some 12 parsec from Ko Setii invited Triss to visit her at the Station. It took Triss no time at all to convince Mev Ra Glic that her ability to learn quickly would allow her to add the medical knowledge of the Federation who were at that time negotiating with Ko Sectii to the Mev Ra advancing her people’s understanding of these many races that made up the huge organization.

Arrived at Starbase 173 in 2343 Stardate 20886.87

Dr. Winerborne was very gracious she and her life Partner Anna Parks even offering her lodgings with them Dr. Winterborne knowing that Ko Sectii disliked being in solitary dwellings.
Triss and the Karen began an exchange of information even allowing each other to use and teach their people’s medical methods to one another. Karen was fascinated by Triss and her talent with Mev and over the next three years she and Anna her life partner had learned to silently communicate with Triss through Mev even though neither woman could hear Triss’s sends.

Then in 2346 Stardate 23886.87 Dr. Winterborne and her Lifepartner Anna who now delighted in being introduced as Nes and Calling Karen Oma were called back to Earth because Karen had been offered a teaching position at the academy. Theirs was a tearful parting and because of it Triss chose to remain on 176 as a civilian Dr. who treated her people that passed through the station as well as many others who for various reasons wanted a no Starfleet doctor.

For six standard years Triss practiced her skills and wrote papers that made her a rising star in her caste and corresponded with her friend Karen delighting in hearing about Starfleet Academy so much that she booked a Transport with the Diplomatic Envoy of Ko Setii in 2352 Stardate 29887.18.

When she arrived on Earth Triss became the darling of the Medical profession because she was listed in the Envoy as Ambassador Mev Ra Triss to the Federation Medical Society. As such a distinguished personage she was asked to attend many medical seminars as a guest speaker her favorite being Starfleet Academy because she was with her dear friend and because she found the students there invigorating.

It was there at the Academy she met a Counselor named Jana Trix who was fascinated by her use of Mev and loved that the betazed woman exposed her to her first experience with true Psionics. Jana loved how Tris and her people like the Betazed were races that didn’t consider it an intrusion to read one another. Triss was herself fascinated by how easy it was to read Jana attributing it to her new friends psionic abilities refining her bioelectrical pattern.

Jana and Triss explored Betazed for nearly a year Jana loving her family and people’s reactions to how Triss’s Mev when active tickled their receptors and made reading the young Ko Sectii’s mind difficult because it was like trying to read a book while some one tickled them.

Triss returned home recalled by the Empire because they worried she was going to be lost to the Ad nir Mev Bloodline so on her return she served as both Oma and Nes becoming responsible for 29/5 daughters. It was during her five cycles home she began to miss her adventures in the Federation which her people had now joined and her friends noticed it and spoke with the Mev Ra about how she’d brought back so much information from her journey and now seemed to drift.[/hider]

@RumikoOhara How did your character end up in the Alpha Quadrant from the Gamma Quadrant? The wormhole is closed and the Federation never really made a lot of moves there besides mining and such.

Part of a Diplomatic Envoy Mission sent before the Dominion War by the Empress Sellani empress of the Ko Secti Empire's exchange program of knowledge. My specialty is in the field of Medicine, my rank in the Empire would be the Equivalent of a Baroness in the European nobility title system.

Stranded in this side of the Wormhole my people offered our services to the Federation and as a Doctor with a war on my skills as well as a pending biological talent of my race made us useful. When the war ended I struck for the right to remain in Starfleet Medical where my original brevet rank of Lt. was granted after I finished training at Starfleet Academy.
