T H E S T O R Y S O F A R...For Eons, since the piercing of the Source Wall, New Genesis and Apokolips have been at war. It's a war that's shaped the universe, this and those beyond. Highfather through many tribulations and challenges has assured that his people have a safe haven, he made New Genesis. On Apokolips, Darkseid is. Some time into their stalemate a new actor emerged. Emblazoned by the power of the old Eternals, from a world ravaged by the crossfire of the New Gods stood Thanos, the Warden of Titan. The last of his kind, and his might would serve as a way to swing the balance in the eternal war between New Gods.
Orion is the second son of Darkseid. He was born meak, malformed, blind and worthless, not even fit for the pits. However, his father found a use for him anyway. After a long grueling battle against Thanos's forces of the Black Quadrant, Desaad made a plan for a truce, one that allow Apokolips to return their focus towards their true enemy, New Genesis.
And so it was, the baby Orion was propped up as Darkseid's greatest weapon, the child that would inherit all of the lord's power. The one born of the wrath of the old gods, power incarnate. And Darkseid would hand this weapon, and a alliance of peace to the fading empire of the now mad Titan. All it would cost Thanos would be his most beloved. One of his twin daughters. Nebula was the only thing Thanos had ever felt love for, the only thing that proved he had a heart. But he would give it away to ensure the future of his empire. In exchange for a sickly, meek boy he gave away his beloved daughter. Dooming her to a life of servitude to the most evil being in all of creation. Thanos could not even comprehend the kind of torture she would endure under the hand of Darkseid. But he had his weapon, and he had the future of his empire now.
Of course, Thanos would realize that Darkseid lied. Orion was a pathetic child, weak and worthless. Yet upon realizing this betrayal, the Mad Titan grinned. He knew there would be more to this child, and more importantly. He knew that Darkseid had handed him a weapon that the evil god would never see coming.
And so it went, for Eons Orion was turned into the son of Thanos. His warmaker and his tracker. His one man that would get things done entire armies could not. All while shielding the New God from the truth about the terrors of The Empire of Titan. While Orion was hunting down criminals and allies of Apokolips, those that would conspire against his master, he would be spared witnessing most of the cruelties of the empire. Ensuring that the sensitive boy would always side with the good of his master.
Now, he has been tasked with finding a weapon powerful enough to break the truce against Darkseid. To bring war to the world of Apokolips and to prove to the New Gods of New Genesis that the age of gods is over, it is the time of the Titans.________________________________________________________________________________________P L O T ( S ) & G O A L ( S )
P L O T ( S ) & G O A L ( S )My original idea was to have Orion be the result of a pact between Odin and Darkseid. Substituting his life on New Genesis for one on Asgard. However, this game is clearly getting very crowded around the ol' Norse mythology. That's when an idea that's even more intriguing struck me. What if Thanos?
The Thanos & Darkseid conflict between DC and Marvel has always intrigued me - what would happen if these two would ever get to come to fight? This is my attempt of telling that story, by putting Orion smack in the middle of it. He's been raised to believe that Thanos is good yet violent. That anything cruel he would do in the name of Thanos is done in the interest of stopping Darkseid, the true enemy. He's been raised without the guidance of Highfather. Without the friendship of the New Gods and without the brotherly bond with Lightray. Orion is in some ways completely alone, yet in others he has new allies and awaits acquiring more of them.
I want to humanize the New Gods, as well as Thanos by doing this pulpy little space romp with the world's angriest son-of-multiversal-Satan. I'll sprinkle in some old mythology, and I foresee whatever that I do with Orion, Darkseid and Thanos could very well have repercussions on Earth if the game so desires.
His story will begin with the search for a weapon, the Power Stone. This will lead him to all sorts of places in a sort of Guardians Of The Galaxy-way, which is why I'll be borrowing most of his supporting cast from there. However, I wouldn't discourage anyone from doing an actual guardians of the galaxy story. I've got plans for Nebula, Gomorrah and Drax so far. I think my affinity and love for Cosmic Ghost Rider will also very clearly shine through in my storytelling.

Couldn't these two concepts still work if that Odin is a future version of @Dark Light's Odin? Therefore allowing a time displaced Thor to interact with a younger version of his father.
This is of course saying you're both okay with Asgard and Earth not flowing through at the same rate. Or some other similar timey whimsy situation.

You don't talk to me unless you're in a game. I hadn't heard from you in weeks until this thread went up.
If you need someone to keep @Sep's quips to a minimum, I can offer my support.
