@Lugubrious Now that you've brought up Summoning, I'm tempted to make either an Umbra Witch or a completely unaffiliated occultist. What are your thoughts? Do we already have enough characters? Would the plot benefit from either an unaffiliated third party or a witch?

We could use a witch, but I'd not make one just yet. I'd like players to try and keep to one character for awhile before making a new one personally, but I think we can allow multiple characters, just maybe not more than two.
On Devil Triggers.

They do "unlock a character's true demonic form", yes. But it's not like Arrancar in Bleach, where it's a form change/stat boost.

In the DMC games, it's sort of a panic button. Healing tends to be far slower than what you lot seem to take it for. There is also a stat boost, but again, the statboost is marginal. The more tangible changes are towards moves; that is, one or two per weapon. For instance: Stinger, which would go through an enemy as opposed to knocking them back as usual. Sometimes, it also prevents knockback which can be pretty useful depending on situation.

That's only based on gameplay, and that's also only from the player's perspective.

The Devil Trigger acts as many different things, Dante has demonstrated that it can be both your true demon form, or your link to your weapon. In DMC4, Dante demonstrates it as being his true demon form. In DMC3 and DMC1, he demonstrates it as being his link to his weapons, where his form actually changes when he changes weapons in that game. In DMC1, he unlocks a unique one from using the sword Alastor.

For enemies, it's probably more accurately a ramping up power-up. When fighting enemies in Dante Must Die mode, they will Devil Trigger if they are not killed within a certain time limit, giving them higher power, lower rate of stagger, and sometimes additional abilities.

So, DT can be anything really, it's possible to have multiple even. Normally it's unleashing a latent power, or some kind of super form, it doesn't always have to be your true form. It is also only limited to demons, so keep that in mind too.

Next, demons taking human form is just a preferential thing. Most don't take a human form due to pride in their true form and as demons, or they are simply unable to take a human appearance. Powerful magical abilities can allow them to on the other hand. I would assume Lily and Blair are of the same brand of demons as Sparda, who takes a human appearance first before his demonic appearance. Shapeshifters like Trish can change appearance at will, she probably could take a non-human appearance but takes a human one out of preference.
Reminder that for the next week I have more time on my hands. If you have a request, now's the time.
Not personally for this RP. I mean we could use some new players, it's healthy.
Corporate War Zone - Warden's Office

The attack succeeded, and the Warden was vulnerable now, the giant prisoner's arm swung in a wide arc as the party blasted it with all they had, causing it to flinch away. Now was the time to attack.

Rui led the charge with a Gale Slash, to ensure they would even get a hit in.

"Now again! Everyone charge!", if they were lucky, they could possibly end this in this single attack. Though the Warden didn't look completely helpless, and while very vulnerable, it still wielded a police baton. Still nothing to a Persona's spell, but if anyone wanted to get close they might have to be careful.

The fight was becoming grueling, the problem for Megumi was she needed to scan each one individually, it became clear pretty soon that the swordsmen were simply weak, while fast, they went down quickly, but they moved quickly too. The gunner and mage were a simple fare too, but the biggest problem was the bodyguards. They just seemed like a big thick wall, Megumi's scans weren't coming up with much. The team needed to coordinate against this.

"Hrgh...", Kazuki finally slew yet another swordsman shadow.

"I guess that's worth a shot. I'll get ready to get in on the opening, Akane you lead on as bait", his orders were made. It was time to see how this plan would pan out.
I hope everyone's almost at the ruins.

I've got quite a bit of time on my hands in the upcoming free week off, so I want to move this RP from prologue to chapter 1 pretty soon.
I'm aware, Lugubrious' post should get his attention anyways.
Their higher cooperation only recently began, there's still tensions between the lot of them and occasional conflict.

Still if you're not interested you're free to do as you wish.

@Zorogami Your character abilities and backstory look fine to me. Might speak with Lugubrious to see where your character might fit best, as he's the one in charge of Gilgamesh.
Yeah we're keeping power gated by a level system on the style. He's got too many moves that would count as a level 3. Lampad Kiss would actually be useless against pretty much every demon in the RP, because they wouldn't experience Heat Syncope. I would actually suggest removing it, and stick to more direct forms of combat.

A lot of your moves count as level 3. For a quick pointer... Level 1, are basic moves. They're basic applications of your weapons. Level 2 is expanded, they're more advanced applications of your weapons. And then Level 3 is basically full potential of both the user and weapon.

By the way if this is your idea of level 1, you'll need to change up the power scale a little.
Oh yeah, I need to draw mine still.
