But... do gyms actually have a healing machine? You're generally forced to run back to the pokemon center, aren't you? I know the Elite 4 has them at the end of the journey.

How else do they have fully healed Pokemon when you return after a loss?

That said, we're also melding some of the anime's logic because the game doesn't do certain things for gameplay reasons. They definitely would have a healing machine in the gyms.

Not to mention it's something useful to have when you have multiple challengers lining up a day.
Wow you are really dead set on that. Does Leon have any background in working with hardware in any case?

Not to mention we're in a town with a gym, I'm pretty sure there are a few handymen around, it's not a small village.

And again.

The gym would have one too. Pretty sure there are repairmen for these machines in pretty much every larger town like this one.

EDIT: Oh nevermind I see it in his backstory now. Still though, I'm pretty sure the various authorities would spot him carrying a large machine that looks suspiciously like the Pokemon Center equipment. You might get a little visit shortly.

"I'm no expert, but I think it's missing a lot of parts...", he pointed out. A kid came out with some medical equipment, visibly the healing machine.

"B... By the way... What you just did is... Looting... With that... I don't think that's legal. Better hand it in to authorities so they can find some handyman to get it working tomorrow...", he suggested, and pointed out, forcibly taking things amidst chaos was the definition of looting, although it's fine if handed in. There were also a lot of parts pertaining to a healing machine, even if he managed to grab a bulk of it, there was no guarantee it had everything it needed to work, whether it be some missing parts or just power and cabling in general. Still, it was probably a help to the town... That is if he hands it in.
And the Pokemon Gym should have one of it's own anyways.

You can turn in the parts to the authorities, someone in town might have spare parts to get it working, but that might have to be for tomorrow.
It's mostly for you to have fun with your new weapon before you reach the Port gate.
No they're fodder. The Mega Scarecrows will take a bit more effort since they're pretty sturdy, but Marionettes are pretty much on par with regular Scarecrows.
I'd wager the Pokemon Gyms have one of their own too.
Not to mention Luxio was pretty much crushed seemingly easily by Larvitar. That's not something a grown man would live down in a battle against a kid.

And yeah, I'm planning on taking on the gym.
I assume the healing machine would be pretty big, it may just look like it's just a cradle, but there are a lot more parts that are connected to it. That said I'd say it's safe to say that it can be replaced quite quickly anyways.

And good point, still it reminded me about the poisoned water anyways.

"Yeah, I hope so too...", although he doubted the authorities alone could do anything about them. Considering what they've gotten away with so far, assuming the Pokemon Lab was also their doing which it likely was, the authorities may be powerless... They needed a stronger hand in all this. What about this region's Champion and Elite Four? Were they doing anything about it? In fact he didn't know who they were on account of being new to this region, but nevermind that, he should work on himself first. Maybe once he became strong enough, these things don't need to happen anymore.

"And I should be fine as long as I have a chance to sleep, Larvitar and me did great in our battle so a good night's rest should do the trick", a Pokemon Center would heal up Pokemon very quickly, a trainer can go in and out with fully healed Pokemon in no longer than half an hour. Resting conventionally will work too, it just simply takes longer.

"I guess we'll go down to the park then? This may be a desert town, but the park is basically all around an oasis", he pointed out. It would be more comfortable there, as there was grass, greenery, and the water of the oasis was said to be quite good... Wait... That's right, the water supply was still poisoned... He might want to ask about it tomorrow, or hopefully it's resolved by then.
