Yep, it is. Devil Summoner is a series of SMT games. One of it's many series.

To answer your question @Notorious Guy, yeah. You can have multiple demons, but not at the start. Throughout the RP, new demons will pop up, they will be ones directly from the SMT series, so no unique designs, and will be stored into Kuda that can be used with your COMP. While most demons will simply cause your form to recolor, there are some demons that are compatible with your contract demon, thereby causing them to fuse and give you a new form when you transform.

You can also summon them normally like you would in Devil Summoner or other SMT games and fight alongside them rather than slotting them in for a transformation by equipping the right modules (see COMP building).

This is all new to the series, and isn't in any of the games, but if you're a fan of Kamen Rider, you'll be more or less aware of how it works.

It takes place in the same world as Devil Summoner, with more or less the same rules, but leans more on new rules that the setting accelerated into the future provides.

Simply put, it's in the same universe, but I'm doing a lot differently it may as well be completely new, although relevant rules in the original series will continue to apply here.

Syndicate B.L.A.C.K Leader, Mitsuhide Sasaki
Contract: Soneillon, he who tempts men to hate.

Mitsuhide Sasaki is the son of the world famous GenX corporation, known mainly for their R&D, they have also taken to developing technology for military. The Syndicate known as B.L.A.C.K was created by him, on the cover it's yet another R&D company, but is in fact yet another group of Devil Summoners. They deal with supernatural events around the world like mercenaries and take a very pragmatic approach in both dealings and business, and have been known to get up to shady dealings with the underworld as well. Though they make good on what they're paid for, some of the best, but also some of the most costly. As some may say, it's like making a deal with a very skilled devil.

Mitsuhide himself has shown up to this grand stage, his goals seem clear, but the brutality of his syndicate combined with his father's R&D resources, he brings with him a lot of heat, for he is here to win.

LAW Faction Commander - Kamen Rider Empress
Junsei Sekai Tensei Cult Leader, Akatsumachi Shihouin
Contract: Khshathra Vairya, the Desirable Dominion

Akatsumachi Shihouin is the venerable leader of the Junsei Sekai Tensei cult, seeking a new world she leads her followers to Kirigashima in search of the Ark, as she says, god's messengers have come to her, and that this is the way to the promised land. The Junsei Sekai Tensei is one of the most dangerous cults in recent years, known mainly for terrorist activities, although they were not always like this. Like any cult when rising up, were largely peaceful, however it can be owned to Akatsumachi herself, as she had only recently become their leader, and coinciding with her rise to power, the cult's activities began to become more violent.

Though she claims to come and give salvation and sustenance to those who accept her dominion, she is completely ruthless to those who disobey, especially to those who turn on her "good will". She unlike others in this battle, feels entitled to the victory, and she doesn't hide that.

NEUTRAL Faction Commander - Kamen Rider Bushido
Global Summoner Association Japanese Operations Commander, Shichiro Asagaki
Contract: Tadakatsu Honda, the indomitable general

Shichiro Asagaki is the Shikoku branch's leader for the GSA, the Global Summoner Association. Founded by one of the head families of the Kuzunoha clan, it was formed on the dawn of the introduction of COMPs into regular circulation for those involved with the supernatural, as a way to properly organize efforts worldwide. As such, they have great amounts of funding and support from all families of the Kuzunoha clan. Shichiro Asagaki is from one of the branch families, and is their residing heir.

He stands in Kirigashima with a new base of operations in order to oversee events, as well as protect the peace of the people of the town. A great battle is going to be waged, and he would prefer both sides just up and leave, but his warrior's spirit desires to be sated. As such, he will not hesitate to join the fray should a fight break out.

Of course you don't have to be part of any of them and go it your way, but having an ally or faction to fight for does have it's benefits. However I would like to say, nothing in this RP is exclusive to any faction, you can always obtain an item that's in play one way or another, either by being given it, inventing one (run that by me), or even stealing it.

Demon Summoners of all kinds converge onto the city of Kirigashima after hearing about the mysterious death of a famous Demon Summoner, the peculiar circumstances to his death pointing to only one thing. He beheld the Ark, and died as he was unworthy.

With the hopes of being worthy, ambitious Summoners move onto the island, but little do many of them know… The Ark brought forth more than just it’s promise of power.

Just a note, the RP takes place in a fictional town in Shikoku in Japan, during the year of 1962. The Kuzunoha families are a thing in this, but I suggest making something entirely new, as I have opened the way to having even characters who are completely fresh to Devil Summoning be allowed to join the fray, should they be given a COMP and a Contract Demon.

"I... Well that is... Very reasonable but uhhh...", it was clear Sevrin was not keen to fight the figure himself. Lack of confidence, or cowardice? One could not tell, but for Sevrin it was a combination of both. He was not prepared to meet the one he hosted so soon, let alone confront him. No matter what he said though it seemed this angel general would not back down... Hmmmm, perhaps he can use this to obtain information as he says. He would be able to notice more than this muscle-headed angel would be able to. But he himself fighting him would not be preferrable, he wouldn't stand a chance.

"I-I know, I'll take care of those minions, you fight him. It would not do to throw myself right at the boss as a first time, besides... I'm not a natural fighter", he reasoned. As he stated so, the corpses around the target began to rise and then growl as if awakening. It seems they were here too long though, a confrontation was now inevitable.

"Huh? Some flies?", the figure that is now identified as Vega looked in their direction, the meanest and sharpest glare one could ask for coupled with black scelera and purple glowing eyes made it an intimidating sight. He soon smiled,

"Now ain't that awkward just standing there in plain sight with that big ol' red and white armor, now shuffle outta there like some bad kiddie who shit their pants, if you wanna fight just come at me already", he taunted, raising his arm, beckoning to Ferrus.

"Oh? Oh? And who's there there too? Sevrin they called you? Ahahahahahaha! I must say thanks, maybe if you don't piss me off I'll let you off, I'm not nearly as bad as you guys think, besides that body's useless to me now, but those fancy tools might be worth coming back for later", Vega was quite enjoying this sight, almost sarcastic as he modestly bragged about his own demeanor, it was clear even he knew how full of shit saying that was. His voice was quite clear too... This was bad, when he was first spotted he was able to make short work of even Nero, but it was clear at that time an extended fight for him was a terrible idea, at that time his voice echoed as if he was still pure energy, but now... Now it was clear. He has achieved a proper physical form on energy alone.

"Buuut, well, maybe say hello to these new recruits of mine first? Or do you two wanna split the bill? I got time to watch if you two wanna fight me at once... After these little guys", his taunting tone continued throughout his dialogue without missing a beat. The corrupted Assaults and Scarecrows around him began to advanced towards both Ferrus and Sevrin as they made their choice.

"Of course", he responded, pulling her up next to him to slide his arm around her. It was much more comfortable walking like this, rather than pulling her along. It was getting some looks until the realization was that they looked like a couple. Rui didn't seem to mind this at all, in fact he was finding Kotori more and more endearing now. Their walk slowed to give them more time to see the stalls and decide what to eat.

"So then, you must be hungry after all that... Go on, pick what you want, don't be shy", he offered. There were all sorts of festival food, okonomiyaki, takoyaki, karaage, yakisoba, yakitori, candy apples, a load of sweets and shaved ice stalls, as it was a pretty warm summer night, refreshment stands selling drinks, some games further along and so on such as shooting, goldfish and turtle capturing, and some other classics, along with prizes. There was so much to do and eat, it wouldn't be possible to do it all tonight, but not that it was necessary. Rui had no personal preferences, everything here looked pretty good to him, but right now he wanted to know what Kotori wanted. He was given quite a bit of money from his parents, so he was pretty free to buy a fair bit.

As the two passed by the stalls he could not help but emit a soft smile as he walked with her, she seemed a little more at ease now, not to mention he seemed to simply enjoy walking with her. As good as the food was they had enough fun going through the crowds, some familiar faces spotted them and he could suspect their thoughts, though they didn't recognize him too well, mostly just Kotori. It seems she meets a lot of people working at her family flower store.

Soon they reached the center and it seems the festive dancing has begun around the stage, with drums ringing out a beat for people to dance to. He stepped forward and grabbed Kotori's hand, "how about we dance a bit?", he suggested. Though knowing her, she would perhaps be a bit too shy to simply agree, and so he ended up pulling her along anyway.

As they danced to the rhythm, matching other people's moves, they began to learn how this dance works. Bon odori was pretty welcoming as far as dances go, but every area had their own dance and some would cycle between multiple region's dances, but you could just join and dance if you pleased. Rui helped Kotori out with her moves, at the very least this dance wasn't very demanding, some simple moves and gestures to a beat, no more no less, to the beat of taiko drums.

After awhile they would leave to rejoin the crowds by the stalls, hopefully for some food, "so was it fun?", he asked, still holding her hand as they stepped through the crowds.
