Scarlet Shadow glared behind her cowl though she knew the pinned man couldn’t see her expression. “Firstly,” she pressed the knife dangerously hard against the tender flesh of his neck, “enough of the ‘Kara’ and pet names. You don’t need to call me by anything.”

She let her statement sink in as she pondered what he had said. The heart? A powerful energy source?… Just what have I gotten myself twisted up in? If this heart was some kind of highly coveted prize worth a lot she knew she couldn’t let it slip from her grasp. This shady organization that had first lead her to the diadem wanted it and apparently they had put several individuals on it’s trail, at least that was her first thought. Or perhaps multiple parties were after it. She really couldn’t say. If it was some sort of revolutionary energy source it would make sense for multiple parties to seek it out, or a single party to invest in multiple operatives to ensure it was secured. Of course then there was the issue of operatives competing over reward and the prize being lost in the competitive shuffle, so there was that flaw. 

Scarlet Shadow reached down with her bare hand and fumbled around at the triad punk’s back pocket and fished out the GPS he mentioned. She took a moment to glance at it before stuffing it into her hoodie. She’d look at it more closely after dealing with him. 

She leaned down close to his ear, voice at a dangerous low, “I thought I made it clear I don’t play nice with Triad back in China. I killed more than enough of your kind when you took my family from me.” Scarlet Shadow made a grinding motion with her wrist letting the blade shave of a very thin layer of skin, enough to leave a red streak when she removed the blade. “I’ll decide for myself who this heart goes to, and it won’t be to any of your ilk. Tell whoever your superiors are to stay clear of me. ‘Else they’ll find their lackeys - like you - minced and mixed into their stir fry.” 

“Still,” she said removing the knife from his throat and standing, “thanks for the help.” 
A swift kick to the skull rendered the goon unconscious. Scarlet Shadow looked at the GPS the man had. True to his word there were three blips on the GPS. The thief realized she needed to further gauge the situation, but of course she couldn’t just head off and leave things to chance. Slipping the GPS away momentarily she went and scuttled up the ladder she had first spotted leaving the downed triad behind. 

Scarlet Shadow had long ago learned that a situation could change or a sudden demand could rise as it were. That was why she had several “safe spots” marked throughout the city where she could temporarily leave weapons, money, rations, spare clothes, and other items. All of these safe spots were in areas of low to zero foot traffic and so well concealed even she would often need a moment or two to locate them. She left her payment, pack and causal wear behind to recover later not wanting to risk the time to take everything back home. Taking to the rooftops and alleys - GPS in hand - she set out for the nearest mark.
