In Depth Appearance:How do you
expect a demigod to look? Six feet even and a slim 150 pounds, Dallas doesn't pretend towards anything but being a full-blown-out ottermode specimen, naturally kicking back languidly with his feet up on a desk or his head dunked halfway into a pool. This kind of casual, thoughtless ease translates into all of his movements. His face is slim and well-sculpted, surprisingly stoic and thoughtful, with high cheekbones, a strong jaw, and full, grinning lips that can appear dreamy and unfocused just as easily as they can slide into a sharp, focused grin. It shares more than a little resemblance to his sister, which is often a source of mutual amusement.
Perhaps the most brilliant feature are his eyes, bold and electric blue. They're almond-shaped, a genetic carry-over from the same Cherokee mother who gave him his cheekbones, and framed by long, silken, windswept hair the color of dark gold. When in the sun, it becomes a brighter, more pale gold color, and he tends to push it back away from his eyes in a makeshift, temporary quiff; as he has nothing to hold the hair up, this is a tic he finds himself performing constantly, and the practiced movements of his hand reveal the name '
Alihera' tattooed across the inside of his wrist if you watch him do it quickly enough.
Yeah, though, seriously. How do you
expect a demigod to look? Course he's beautiful. Psh.
Clothing Style:Preferring to let his
~svelte frame and pretty face~ do the talking for him, Dallas' clothing style tends to be as glamorously casual as possible; he tries not to let his dresser fetter him too much, while still trying to extol a sense that he cares how he dresses. Usually he'll be found wearing - on warmer days - a button tee and shorts, though he tends to consider slim cut jeans an all-year staple of his wardrobe. In the winter months, he trades up his cool, unbuttoned tops for a higher neckline and more insulation - sweaters, colored in various shades of the six main primary and secondary colors, each to suit his mood that morning. In particularly cold weather, he'll put on a half-unzipped North Face. Tends to complete the look with no show socks and Supra high tops, laces pulled out.
Accessories include one hemp bracelet on his right wrist and two on his left, an Oakland class ring on his right ring finger, and a St. Christopher medal from his Communion around his neck. Yeah, yeah, the son of a Greek god was raised Catholic. Laugh it up.

Dallas is the odd, rare specimen of a born bad boy trying hard to mellow out. After a childhood and adolescence full of threatening to turn his mom a premature grey, Dallas has taken the beginning of his twenties in a much more easy going stride, mostly just grinning and bearing what would have once sent an explosive temper hurtling outwards at the nearest hostile face. With a life full of fights in school bathrooms and pickpocketing teachers behind him (along with a dozen school suspensions) enrollment in the Academy - and the reveal of a teenage half-sister who he's supposed to be a
gen-yoo-ine role model for has softened his perennial bad boy streak. He's not averse to lapsing into a mocking mood - and, as Viv can attest, you're never sure if his arm around your waist can lead to a casual hug or being roped into a death trap where your hair will be ruffled beyond repair. But all in all, he's just a guy trying to keep on the straight and narrow after 17 years of doing anything but. Course he's bound to have some relapses. And a rough temper. He's
Apollo's kid. Course shaping up's not gonna be easy.

Background:Born in Mill Valley, Dallas spent most of his time moving between Marin County and Oakland with his mother, a fitness model in Northern California. Learning at an early age that he wasn't going to get much out of her beyond the fact that he was "[his] dad's spitting image," Dallas fell into the oldest and noblest of traps for charismatic only children - he built himself a large group early in middle school that, gradually, metamorphosed from less of a group of class clowns into more of a group of wild, reckless teens with too much pent up energy. Eventually, as high school wore on, Dallas was getting himself into fights in school bathrooms, by lockers, even in the parking lots at athletic events. He lost his valued spot as a pitcher on the school baseball team, and by senior year could be found with a black eye and a burst-lipped smirk on his face more often than not.
Eventually, after what he has only described to his sister and friends as "the best senior prank since Hermes'," Dallas found himself disbarred from the impending school prom and suspended from school indefinitely. Fully bracing himself to have to try and comfort an upset mother, Dallas instead found a man parked out front - in his spitting image, no less - offering him a burger and an explanation. One, the other, or both must have been pretty damn good, because he found himself accepting his demigod nature and doing what he could to get his life in check before he wound up a wastrel in the streets of Oakland. As if that wasn't enough pressure, apparently he wasn't a charismatic only child at all. He was a charismatic
big brother.Which had its perks.

Relationship With Godly Parent:Affectionately exasperated. The tone for Apollo's relationship with Dallas was set when the young troublemaker, freshly suspended from his final weeks of senior year and disbarred from prom, was picked up by a golden Lexus, with a driver man claiming to be not only his father, but the Greek God of the Sun. Dallas listened to Apollo's story and, when the burden of proof was laid at the demigod's feet, responded with only a deadpan "The fuck kind of god can't even swing a Maserati?"
The rest was history; though you'd think he'd have been a product of the loins of Dionysus or Hermes (especially given his penchant for minor thievery) Apollo, too, has mellowed a bit as the years go by, and tends to take the increasingly rare instances where he has to cover for his son in stride. The times they tend to talk are casual and breezy, the kind of father and son you'd expect to see out at a burger joint together than watching their sun set.
Godly Abilities:Heaven, Let Your Light Shine Down - Like his sister, Dallas gains natural augmentation in strength, speed, and durability through sunlight. Unlike his sister, Dallas is a natural fighter, making this buff much more substantial and harder hitting. He'll use this to great effect in hand to hand combat, which is his far-and-away forte. Outside of sunlight, this buff begins to fade after about two minutes, leaving him with only slightly heightened abilities that gradually dip until the sunlight's energy leaves him entirely.
I'll Be a Sunbeam - Apollo is the god of music and poetry, so it only makes sense that his son would inherit natural ability in turn. When listening to music, Dallas' strength, speed, and durability stack to double that of his heightened capabilities, leaving him at a cumulative x4 stack. Whatever you do, if you're intent on pissing off, don't fight him in sunlight with his iPhone on. Seriously. Blot out the sun with locusts, break his iPhone, do
something before he inverts your face's bone structure with a collection of hard crosses.
This power also has a passive, less harmless variation; when Dallas hears someone sing, he gains an empathetic bond with that person temporarily. The longer they sing continuously, the longer the bond continues, giving Dallas insight into their emotions and, to a more limited extent, their thoughts; after it stops, the bond will stay solid for around five minutes before starting to fizzle. By ten, it will be gone entirely.
Staring at the Sun - Dallas has a natural illusionary power, creating up to three illusionary copies of himself at a time to throw off opponents. They will perform the most basic of functions and fighting maneuvers to keep an enemy guessing, but as time goes on the copies will start to skip and "buffer," almost. In addition, their surfaces go crystalline, sleek and shiny; this makes it incredibly easy to ascertain which is the real Dallas and what are his copies, so he uses this power mostly as an escape mechanism for when he needs to reassess how his plan is going.
Though he's not averse to using this trick on his sister to grate on her nerves once in a while.
