Sixteen and the voice of reason and peacekeeper among most of her friends, just people in general at times. Elizabeth is wise beyond her years and very mature and level-headed. She is often offering advice to her friends in need. She's a very kind and sweet young girl but she's not afraid to raise her voice if she doesn't agree with something. She's often asking if her friends if they are in need of anything and is always willing to drop everything to rush to a friend's side. She's a shoulder to cry on and is happy to sit and listen as someone throws all their worries and problems on her to be returned with loving words or advice. Seemingly fun-loving and good-natured Lizzy isn't particularly shy or timid, however, she's not a fan of being under the limelight and prefers to watch her loved ones shine and guide them from the sidelines. She deeply believes there's good in all people, almost to a fault, she'll be quick to point on her concerns and one's faults. She's very trusting which can leave her open for betrayal or to be used. She can come across quite clingy at times when she considers someone in need of love. Her mother-like ways can make her come across annoying at times, not that she means it.

Underneath it all, however, Elizabeth's life is a messy. Her parents recently divorced and are constantly at each other's throats for custody over Elizabeth and her younger brother. She's watched her grades, once straight As fall to Bs and Cs. She has no idea what to do with her life, or even if she would have one waiting for her. One of the reasons she's always there for others, despite it being natural to her nature, is it's one of the few things that make her feel relevent in the world. She has no idea what to do and often feels worthless. She keeps this part of her life locked away from others, quite successfully, even from her closest friends leaving it to build up in her until she finally loses it in the privacy of her room or silently in the bathroom. The last thing she want is someone finding out. She doesn't want to "burden people with her crap" so she pastes on a smile and pretend everything's ok. She laughs, she jokes around and sometimes, occasionally, she believes it though it's not long before she remembers the true wreck that's her life.

▾ Biography: 
Elizabeth was born into this world an accident. Hannah, her mother, was only approaching her 16th year when she fell pregnant with the son of James, her then boyfriend, now ex-husband. Hannah's parents were extremely disappointed with their daughter and at the beginning of her pregnancy they couldn't so much as look at her without expressing shame. Luckily, they came through in the end. Being heavily against abortion they left Hannah with no choice but to continue the pregnancy and put the child up for adoption, which was their plan throughout the whole pregnancy. It was at 3am on a rainy April morning that Elizabeth graced the world with her presence 5 weeks early. For Hannah it was a long at painful birth but as much as her and James attempted to force the idea to stick in their minds neither could give up their tiny, very tiny for that matter, bundle of joy.

Under the watchful eyes of two sets of grandparents and her parents, who continued their studies, from quite a young age Elizabeth had no choice but to learn to adjust to different schedules and routines easily. She never posed to be a problem and would only throw the occasional temper tantrum when didn't get her way, she grew out of that though. From a very young age she proved to be a sweet and loving little girl and never got over her love for hugs.

Elizabeth was 5, not far off 6, when her parents married. Even now she can recall the day to almost precise detail and claims it to be one of her fondest memories. It was only weeks after Hannah and James returned from their honeymoon they discovered Hannah was once again pregnant and on the September of that year she gave birth to a healthy young boy they called Joshua. From there was all happy families for quite a few years. Hannah and James were deep in love and loved their children even more. Elizabeth adored Josh and the pair got along really well. It all just worked, alas, that happiness was not made to last.

It was drunkenness that first led to Elizabeth's parents' fighting. She was 13 when it all started. There would be screaming, the slamming of doors, insults and breaking bottles, sometimes even yelps in pain. As the drunken pair fought into the night. Elizabeth would crawl into her brother's bed, hold him close, tell him everything was going to be okay (even though she didn't believe it herself) and would sing him to sleep. It was that first night Elizabeth vowed to never get drunk in fear of coming to the state of her parents. As time went on the couple no longer need the aid of alcohol to fuel their anger but the tiniest disagreements snowballed into huge fights. I wasn't until only months before the murder that they finally divorced but now they continuously fight over custody of Lizzy and Josh and she hates it.

Joshua Nicolas Jones

The world can be a scary place to face on your own when you're young, particularly when your parents' energy is spent on drinking and fighting. Lucky for this 9 year old, he has a Lizzy Jones as a sister. More outgoing and funloving than his older sister Joshua seems to befriend others quickly. Josh faces the world with a smile on his face and his heart on his sleeve. As a young boy his parents late night fighting matches are not distinct memories and his parents seem to try to not subject him to it. Joshua was playing with some other kids when they found the remains of a person in the ground. Not long after the police were informed Josh ran home to tell his sister of that day's discovering

Courtney is a very outgoing person, she's the kind to pull up tired moms and dads at her son's daycare and offer to take their kids to preschool and back for the next few days or take the weary parents out for coffee. The woman seems to have a rather odd amount of energy but, honestly, she's just good at hiding tiredness. (Her love of coffee's a big help). She's rather open and can be easy to talk to. She's been through quite a bit and finds it easy to relate to particularly teens going through those experiences. She's an empathic person.

Courtney is rather stubborn, once she has a view on something it's almost impossible to change her mind. Sometimes she dives head-first into something without looking further into it or thinking. This results in her getting frustrated and stressed, which she usually accidentally takes out on her friends and family. She then has a lot of trouble finding another way or trying another approach. Courtney doesn't know when to give up.

Courtney grew up with a rather average home life in her younger years. Her mother, Michelle Peters, had a condition that gave her a very slim possibility of conceiving children so Courtney grew up an only child. 

Little could be said about Courtney in her early years. She was a 'normal' kid. However, as she got older, this didn't stay the same. As she got into middle school Courtney started hanging out with the wrong crowd. From there her life was very much a 'good girl gone bad' story. She became known in the town for her 'Gothic' look and, particularly, her addiction to drugs. Particularly Ice and Heroin. She would be high extremely often and her home life became shattered because of it.

It was when she was 17 Courtney OD'd on heroin and was found passed out at Lafayette Bayou. Luckily she was found in time and the doctors able to save her. However, with medical proof if illegal drug usage, Courtney was put on trial. 

In the end, due to her young age and the fact she didn't harm anyone physically while she was high, Courtney was given a 24 month sentence as long as she attended weekly therapy sessions and drug test (starting at biweekly but becoming further apart if she had no sign of drugs every time) for 3 years proceeding the sentence. Shortly after the sentence Courtney then went through a 'drug court' and successfully changed her prison sentence to time at rehabilitation institute as long as the preceeding therapy and drug checks were maintained afterwards.

In her early months particularly, Courtney found rehab tough, extremely so. She commonly experienced withdrawal symptoms but, in hindsight, Courtney considers it the best thing she's done. In Rehabilitation Courtney was visited by a pastor from the city the rehabilitation centre. He preached the gospel to her and gave her a bible. Courtney quickly gave herself to Christianity and finds relief in her God. She believes God helped her through her time in the rehabilitation centre. When she returned to town she was seen to be completely transformed and complied with the rest of the court's rulings.

Only months after starting therapy she met David Nightingale, the son of her therapist. He was only a year older than her and the pair became fast friends and, eventually, it blossomed into more. 

Courtney was 21 when David proposed, with Courtney giving a positive response. Knowing his partner's love for music complete a song despite the fact he had no musical ability whatsoever, nor a decent singing voice, but Courtney found it sweet. The pair got married a year later, the day after her sentence was officially complete.

After their honeymoon Courtney, wishing to help others overcome problems she had gone through before it goes too far, decided she wanted to become a school counselor so she went straight on to doing a uni degree through an online course. She finished her master's degree only at the end of the year before and started working as a counsellor at the local high school the year just gone. 

When Courtney was 25, and halfway through her bachelor degree, she found herself pregnant with a boy. The couple waited anxiously for his birth, over preparing in every way (only to find they could never really be prepared). Courtney was 26 when she she brought Tyson Jai Nightgale into the world.

Only about a month before the murder Courtney discovered she was once again pregnant. Only a week and a half prior she found put she was expecting twins and the couple soon told their son.

David is a very free spirit. With a carefree and happy-go-lucky outlook on life he doesn't sweat the small stuff... and rarely plans for the future. David possesses a sweet heart, he's one to help kids get things from the top shelf and continually check up on others. He cares a lot for, well, everyone he knows and is extremely loyal to his loved ones. He also has great sense of humour.

At times David can be rather childish. He still makes and laughs at toilet humour and is one to pull pranks a lot. Sometimes he doesn't quite know when to stop, though his pranks are (usually) harmless. David's mind wanders like crazy and sometime it hard to keep up. Although he is loyal David terrible with deadlines and (usually) long term commitments. It's a mystery as to how he managed to not only have but maintain a marriage.

David is the 3rd child of 4. At a young age he proved to be cheeky and mischievous. He's often prank his siblings. His childhood was rather average and, for the most part, uneventful. As his siblings got old enough to skip town they did for bigger cities. 

David had only remained in town to earn money. He lived with his parents as he studied graphic design and website design via an online course. During this he commuted to a little restaurant on the highway where he worked as a Barista. He had plans to move out, that was until chance had him getting to know one of his dad's patients.

Honestly, he had liked her for sometime before asking her to take the next step of becoming her partner. The pair married later on, the same year that David finished his degree.

After they returned he opened his business while keeping his barista job and, a couple year later was earning enough to drop the Barista job.

Tyson is the 3 year old son of David and Courtney. He is a very cheerful funloving child and gets his energy from being around others. He is, or likes to think he is at least, very observant and in the last few days he has made it very clear to his mother she's 'getting a bit fat' before consoling her that 'It's ok because there's babies growing inside her tummy making her fat!' Tyson is very proud to be a brother and tells practically everyone he meets he's going to be 'big brudda' soon. He's eager to grow up to do things like drive a car and buy toys by himself and will often tell his parents it won't be long until he can! (Ah, the naive mind of a child)
