Becuase on the political side, I've been running it for 250 years. My species doesn't typically live past 80.

On and off continuously, since the founding of the EDB's military. I fought as a Sergeant on the front lines, acted as a wartime general,a fighter pilot in the airforce... I've done it all.

Well... nothing really. I just came to the conclusion I wanted to start being more self sufficient. Most of the services I have that arent military or politically oriented were gifts from other governments and from planetary officials. I didnt want to refuse them and make them feel like I didnt appreciate the gifts, so I accepted them.

Most of the time, I didnt need to cook. There were chefs and culinary teams on speed dial. But that got...old. not to say they couldnt make a great meal, but... made me feel helpless. I wanted to be able to make my own meals without reading directions from a box.
