Nuuuu~ The OOC is even harder to keep up with than the IC. It's fun and hilarious and everything but...too much of a good thing, like eating 10 Cadbury cream eggs (which I thankfully have never attempted).

Actually, I've been having trouble keeping up as well. Since my character has been the only one interacting with @Lennon79's character and his character has been the only one interacting with mine, with Lennon79 pulling out of the RP, I think this is a convenient point for me to pull out as well, leaving no loose ends.

I hope everyone continues to have a good time. I just didn't know what I was getting myself into since I greatly prefer slower, small group (4-5 RPers) RP's.

If other people want to 'adopt' Shizuka, be my guest.

Name: Eponine Hassane

Appearance:

"I am unbreakable, I am unyielding, I am impenetrable."

Personality: Eponine comes off as robotic to most. She values order above all else and believes that to achieve order, the ends justify the means. Her form of altruism is the cold, calculated utilitarianism that the incubators also happen to follow, that the good of the few can be easily sacrificed for the good of the many. She is for the most part, obedient and unquestioning of her orders and tries to the best of her ability to fulfill her missions to the letter. She cannot tolerate insubordination or rebellion, unless it promises an even better organization, an even tighter grip on chaos and human free will. She has a strong desire to protect her sister Fantine, her allies, and the majority of her vassals, though she will sacrifice a few of them if it meant protecting most of them. Eponine has a soft spot for Fantine, who she keeps in her fortress and pampers. Eponine worries that soon, she will lose her ability to love her sister due the negative side effects of her wish.

Bio: Eponine was born in a slum of North Africans in the outskirts of Aurora. She lived with her father, mother, and two younger siblings: fraternal twins, a boy and a girl. Due to their destitute living conditions, the community became disgruntled with the ruling magical girls. Eponine grew up hating magical girls for not protecting and providing for her town. When a group of militants came to 'liberate' them from magical girls, the militants were welcomed with open arms. However, their talk of 'revolution', 'liberation', and 'equality' was empty; they were little more than bandits expanding their territory and winning support by throwing around high-minded ideals. Life under this militant group was worse than the neglect they faced when under magical girl rule. When the North African community decided that they had had enough, they revolted and failed miserably. The militants suppressed the revolt swiftly and Eponine saw both her father and mother brutally physically and sexually assaulted by the militants. Then she became their next victim. At this point she was already broken, and she simply let it happen, but when she saw others reach for her sister and brother, she snapped, and an incubator appeared before her. When she became a magical girl for the first time, it was a night of blood as Eponine cleansed the slum of the militants. In the aftermath, her brother had died from injuries he had sustained while he was being raped, while her sister, Fantine, survived. Seeing Eponine as their saviour from oppression, the community changed their minds about magical girls. Eponine sought out the magical girl that governed over her region and swore fealty, aligning herself and her community to Aurora. Now she rules over and protects the slum, which has become her fief, her territory. She had a fortress built where she keeps Fantine safe.

Allegiance: Aurora City Authority

Skills: Very few, maybe a proficiency with polearms having swung her warhammer around enough times. She has the tactics of a juggernaut.

Weapons: None

Other: Eponine's diet has gotten increasingly spicy as her sense of taste has deteriorated to the point that she can barely taste anything anymore. She also sometimes bites her own tongue and inside of her cheek when she is speaking quickly, so she often bleeds from the mouth. She calls her force-field the Zone of Absolute Terror.

Magical Girl Appearance:

Eponine keeps her eye, hair, and skin color of course. Also, no bonnet and no katana.

Wish: "I never want to be hurt again." Her wish not only granted her an impenetrable force field ability, but has significantly reduced her ability to feel pain. Because she will feel pain if those close to her are harmed, her ability includes the bonus of being able to protect others. However, she can feel her sense of touch overall deteriorating, including her sense of taste. It has also slowly affected her ability to feel emotions, as emotions are ultimately the true source of pain. This last bit worries her, since loving Fantine is the one thing she has left.

Weapons: Eponine summons and wields a warhammer. She can summon more as necessary and as part of a way to extend her magic.


Powers: Force Field - Eponine's force field is a thin, impenetrable layer covering her body when activated. It can be extended to her warhammer, making the weapon indestructible. She can also extend it to allies if she touches them. Keeping it on drains her magic so she lets it down when she feels she is safe. It can be further activated with 'Rejection', which sends all things touching it to go shooting off in the opposite direction. She cannot use 'Rejection' to propel herself. She can summon multiple hammers and stand them with the head on the ground and the shaft pointing up. She needs a minimum of three set out in a ring to activate a larger force field, a hemisphere of protection projected from the shafts of the hammers.

A teacher who uses bagua? Great, I was thinking that if Shizuka learns any magic, it would be onmyou/yin-yang/feng shui/geomancy-based, since with acoustics, shape and placement are key. Now she might have someone to learn from directly.

Shizuka heard Wataru say 'Gundam', she'd definitely have to engage him in conversation more in the near future.

When Wataru showed amnesty and confiscated the hammer, Shizuka was a bit flustered and relieved at the same time. "Th-thank you. I hope you won't get in trouble on my account. As for what I'm building, it's technically just a tiny speaker. But the point is I'm making a bunch of them. Shizuka waved an arm at the workbench to bring Wataru's attention to about a dozen small, white cube-looking devices. "My reason for making these, is because I'm interested to see how I can take advantage of acoustic concepts; for example, constructive and destructive interference, to increase my sound intensity. Have you ever been to a concert, and found that depending on where you are, the volume of the sound changes? I want to take advantage of this concept, which is also the same concept behind the double-slit experiment and cymatic patterns. If I can place these around at strategic locations and have them emit whatever frequency I want them to, I think I could make my ability significantly more versatile. It would be my own personal concert hall, the Lonely Orchestra. The thing about waves is ultimately, synergy; each individual speaker may be weak, but their combined intensity is proportional to the square of the sums of their amplitudes." Shizuka suddenly froze as she caught herself spouting sound-related techno-babble. Even though she expected that, as an Esper, Wataru had the intelligence to understand what she was saying, ultimately, she couldn't count on him being at all interested. She suddenly clamped down and looked away in embarrassment.

Israfil tried to loosen up a bit and be more casual as he followed them.

Tera approved of Claire's invitation to Israfil. She could tell the boy was troubled, but she was still shy around humans and was afraid it might have been awkward if she called out to him. When she introduced herself, Israfil asked, "Oh, you're a Quantum, then?" He hadn't met many Quantum in his life, and was amazed at how human-like she was.

"Yes," Tera replied. When Quantums say their last names, they usually say all three letters separately, and then follow it with a simple short way of pronouncing it, in this case, Q-A-Z becomes 'Kaz'.

Tera remembered her conversation earlier with Claire and decided to pick up where she left off, "You said that it was your sister's idea to join the military. Do you know what her motivation was for doing so?"

They conversed as they headed for the barracks. it was an organized grid of hallways, sectioned off for the different departments, the pilots had their own section in a corner of the grid, close to the hangar. The barracks were located in the heart of the carrier; there was no point putting the living space near the outside where it could get hit easily by enemy fire. Most carriers had more pilots, but cogs took up considerably more space than small starfighters, so only the handful of cogs took up the entire hangar. With only seven pilots, the pilot section of the Barracks consisted of two rooms and one office. The office was for Maya and Sion to work in, while the rooms were split into male and female rooms. The female room was for Maya, Claire, Blythe and Tera; while the male room was for Sion, Solomon and Israfil. Their names were clearly designated on a nameplate hanging next to the sliding doors.

"Looks like we'll be staying together," Tera smiled gently at Claire, "I hope I will get a chance to get to know your sister a little. Lieutenant Encarnacion seems nice too."

The arrangement made Israfil cringe in fear; he didn't want to stay in the same room as Solomon or Lieutenant RHS. Solomon he clearly was afraid of, while he worried that Sion would be strict and not much fun to be around. He checked the directory and saw that the engineer's quarters weren't too far away.

Tera tried to comfort Israfil by saying, "At least Lieutenant RHS will be there."

"How is that a good thing?" Israfil blurted out without thinking.

"I've met many Quantum like him before. He values order above all else and even though he may seem harsh, he means well," Tera replied.

Name: Maria Goethe

Age: 15

Gender: Female

Appearance:
Maria uses a wheelchair to feign the appearance of a paraplegic. She uses her magic to move the wheelchair around.

Personality: Maria casts an outward appearance of a cheery, kind girl, always smiling while talking in a bubbly voice. However, beneath this social mask lies a cruel, sadistic monster in human form, her empathy withered away. She is also prone to bouts of paranoia due to being betrayed multiple times in her life, and thus wastes no chance in kissing the asses of her superiors, all the while plotting their downfall behind their backs.

Bio: Maria was thrown into an orphanage before she could even remember the faces of her parents, who died shortly after her birth. She was brutally beaten and abused at a regular pace by the personnel there. However, before she was driven to an abyss of despair, she met a boy by the name of Klaus there, who promised to protect her and get them out of the orphanage. In time, she developed feelings for the boy.
One night they attempted an escape, but were about to be caught when Maria met an Incubator. Seeing that Klaus was caught, she made her wish and the two of them escaped successfully.
Later, Klaus was caught by an anti-MG mob and tortured to death due to his connections to Magical Girls after following Maria. Maria found out about this, and became determined to rule the world and take revenge on the people who took Klaus away from him, by any means possible.
Over the following years, Maria managed to worm her way to the position of a lieutenant in the Aurora City Authority through scheming, trickery and backstabbing, even using torture to squeeze valuable secrets out of any hapless victim she managed to capture alive. Of course, she doesn't plan on stopping there, either...

Allegiance: Aurora City Authority

Skills: Maria could be said to have a silver tongue, for she is very convincing and manipulative with her words, sprouting seeds of doubt and despair in any heart she can pierce with her angelic voice. She also has a profound knowledge of politics and tactics, and specializes in psychological warfare.

Weapons: Maria keeps a small dagger under her dress as a paranoid measure, though due to her status as a Magical Girl, rarely uses it.

Other: Maria loves sweet things such as cakes and cookies, and spends a lot of her free time snacking on them.

Magical Girl Appearance:
Maria keeps her eye-design and creepy demeanour while as a Magical Girl. Her costume also has more shades of dark-green and black.

Wish: "I wish to move Klaus away from his fate."

Weapons: A scythe with an intricate, flowery design going from the hilt all the way to the blade's end. Can be manipulated to change the position of the blade, making for a surprisingly adaptive weapon despite its unwieldiness.

Powers: Telekinesis. Maria may use her magic to control the movement of any object or person in her line of sight, including herself. For example, she can fly through the air, throw and draw distant targets and even freeze people in place. However, she needs to have one of her hands unoccupied and spread open for her to cast the magic from her palm and her fingers for multitasking and subtle movements, making her unable to use this power if her hands are unusable or occupied. Breaking her focus also results in the spell's canceling.
She may also perform a Force Choke-like spell on normal humans which Magical Girls are immune to.

I'm considering whether I want to make a subordinate/vassal to Maria, or someone of similar standing in the ACA. If of similar standing, I want my character to work together with Maria, sort of being co-conspirators, with Maria doing most of the conspiring and my character sort of being convinced that they're doing the right thing and providing mostly muscle. Let me know how you feel about this because I don't want to create a relationship between our characters without your permission.
