I'll be going on a two week vacation starting tomorrow and don't know how often I'll have Internet access. Thank you for your patience. I'll try to be more regular when I get back.

@Stern Algorithm Basically a combination of modern technology and fantasy?

Okay, so let me know if this is too much. A character that is essentially a human-sized fairy (a human with butterfly wings) who can metamorph into a caterpillar form that is the size of a large dog. The fairy form would be 'dancer' class, with the ability to fly and provide area of effect support spells in the form of wing dust, granting invigorating buffs and heals; whereas the caterpillar form would be 'gladiator' class, tough and combative, with an emphasis on disables and leashing in the form of strands and nets of silk the caterpillar would fire from the silk gland on their tail.

Wolf swirled around Lamb, peeking over her shoulder at the gold-armored Jarvan IV. "An emperor! Will this one be mine as well?"

"Most heads of state are unwilling to relinquish their life of power and privilege," Lamb said, raising a hand to pet Wolf's muzzle, "But this one is brave and when the day comes that he truly meets us, it will be by my bow that he falls." Lamb finally turned to face Jarvan to answer his question. "We came simply to observe," Lamb said calmly, almost mysteriously. While that was true initially, The Kindred's goal now was to seek out the foul, undead abomination. Lamb could tell Jarvan, but chose to keep the information to herself, after all, no one knows the time of their death, and The Kindred did not divulge secrets readily. "Do not worry mortal," Lamb added, swiftly stepping closer, "Our presence does not always signify death. Perhaps we are here to prevent an untimely one."

"But what would be the fun in that?" Wolf clacked his teeth in hungered anticipation.

"Hush now, dear Wolf." Lamb reached her other hand over to gently shut his muzzle. Lamb looked over to the gathering of Noxians. "Although I must say, I do not know who is more blindly optimistic, the gods for holding this 'peace dance', or you mortals for attending. Considering you are swimming with your enemies, would you really expect me not to be present? Or do you think that you can overcome your mortal nature's and truly have peace?" though not intentionally condescending, Lamb spoke with a certainty that bordered on arrogance, fueled by her knowledge of the unseen.

Hey I've been eying this for a few days and I wanted to ask if you could elaborate on what 'urbanized fantasy' means. I need to know if the character I had in mind is too outlandish or not.
As much as it pains me to say this, I'm going to have to drop out of this RP simply for time constraint reasons. Until I can settle into a more reasonable work schedule, I won't be able to dedicate the time this RP deserves. Since all my character has done is drive a couple people around, I hope my leaving doesn't disrupt anyone else's ability to continue. But given the fact that I really can't get a post up as often as I'd like, I really don't want to force other players to constantly wait for an update from me should my character interact with theirs.

You all are beautiful people and there is absolutely no drama involved in my decision.

Keep shining.
Cassie could sense that something inside the massive droid was throwing off the echo, distorting the sound, making it much more difficult for her to triangulate the proper frequency to use. She could take that into account, but it would take much longer, and time wasn't a luxury they currently had. It also didn't help that the droid was moving away from the trap of sonic charges that she had laid down, and was instead rolling towards Mako. Of course, for a machine, Mako was the obvious real threat, and it would try to take her out first. Still Cassie continued to 'ping' it with weak sonic blasts to continue to gather data points, but she knew a different tactic might be in order: subterfuge.

Cassie recalled the news footage of the first omnidroid's attack on the city. Fortunately, Syndrome really liked to talk, and being a sound genius, Cassie had his voice memorized. Clearing her throat a bit, Cassie used her sonic projection and called out, mimicking Syndrome's voice perfectly, "OMNIDRIOD. STAND DOWN!" It was a gamble at best. It was possible that the Omnidroid didn't respond to vocal commands, and even if it was supposed to, there was evidence from prior footage to suggest that the Omnidroid had learned to disobey its creator. Cassie hoped that it would at least stop long enough for Mako to get out of the way of its rolling.

"What is it, Lamb?" the large, smoky, disembodied wolf's head eagerly asked in his gruff voice.

"A party, dear Wolf; merriment," came the reply of the humanoid sheep creature in her clear, cold voice.

"Are we invited?"

"No. And yes. When enemies meet, we are always invited."

"Will it be fun?"

"Perhaps."

"Then let us go!"

Kindred deftly stepped off the teleportation platform, Lamb casting her inscrutably masked gaze from one warm body to another, the majority of the attendees, those with less courage, falling deathly silent at their approach. Wolf orbited Lamb playfully, snapping his jaws at the other guests.

"Fret not, mortals," Lamb said in a somewhat less than reassuring tone, "We are simply here to observe."

"Lamb! Lamb!" Wolf agitated, "I smell the stench of undeath approaching!"

Lamb did not reply. She wondered which abomination Wolf was sensing. She tightened her grip on her bow.

It was an unusual night. For one, Shizuka was still awake, ready for bed, but sitting in the living room of her dorm, finishing the latest book from the popular 'A Song of Cold and Hot' series. For two, Shizuka's roommate Shakti wasn't out with friends, and was instead just watching TV. Because of their drastically different schedules and lifestyles, they hardly ever interacted or got to spend time together, though when they did, it wasn't that awkward. For the most part they just silently enjoyed each other's company.

Then Shakti's phone buzzed. Checking what it was, Shakti shot up off the couch. "The citizen's of Shine City need me!" She called out. Shizuka nodded gently, used to her roommate's shenanigans. Shakti ran towards the kitchen and cracked open the window.

"Shak-" Shizuka began to protest this newest habit Shakti had developed.

"No time!" Shakti said as she awkwardly scrambled over the kitchen sink and clambered her way through the window. Once outside, Shakti bolted towards where her car was parked. Even though she was allowed to stay in graduate housing due to a technicality, she was not authorized to park on campus, so her vehicle was a ways away. Shizuka shook her head in patient exasperation and closed the window.

Shakti reached her car, which was parked in a questionably legal spot, but fortunately it was out of sight. Her car used to belong to the orphanage, but with a recent wave of new funding, the orphanage had upgraded most of their equipment and technology, retiring this old, beat-up white van, which Shakti 'inherited'. Looking at the black-tinted windows, she noticed the letters she had put up earlier were fading, so she pulled open the side door and grabbed the bar of soap she always kept there. Sliding the door shut, she used the soap and rewrote 'SÜPER DRIVER' on the window. Pleased with her handiwork, she got in and took off towards the park.

Around the outskirts of Shine Park, a shady-looking white van circled around and around in a predatory manner. Shakti stopped in a place that she probably shouldn't stop in and pulled out her phone, using the Süper app to message her potential client.

"Hey! I'm here. Where you at?"
Guh! Work hit me like a cement truck this week, (but I do love my work, I get to do important science-y things) and it was all I could do just to keep up with the OOC and slowly read my way through the IC to catch up with events. I can finally make a post! Anyone need an energetic lady to interact with, or better yet, anyone need a Süper driver to get them somewhere? (Süper being my take on the Shine universe's version of Uber, an app that let's passengers hail drivers as an alternative to taxis).

I also wanted to point out that I've noticed people using existing brands, but one of the fun things of Shine City is seeing what parody brands people come up with as Shine universe knock-offs. Not trying to enforce anything here, just wanted to let newcomers know this unwritten 'rule' of Shine City and await the brand name creativity to ensue.

@Lunaeria Addison used Uber in your first post. Dishonor on you. Dishonor on your family. Dishonor on your cow.
@Dynamo Frokane

That's sad to hear. Since you mentioned discussing your decision with others, I suppose it's not my place to say that it feels a little drastic. Honestly, one of the main reasons I keep coming back every season is because I know the GM is dedicated and passionate, and the turbulence is all just part of the learning experience. People grow, people change, people mature. Whatever your reputation is elsewhere, know that in my opinion, it should have no bearing here. Anyways, just wanted to give my two cents. Best of luck, we'll miss you.
