Because that isn't a power. It's a weapon. The species itself doesn't define the normal standard, it's just that the majority of species rest at that level and it's easiest for me, as a human, to relate things of this sort to the capabilities of humanity.

Or your explosive attacks and tentacle things. Sure, some species might be stronger than others, and otbers might be smarter. That's not what I'm talking about though.
I guess my point is just that I don't really understand why one specific species defines "normal" when I wouldn't be anything special outside of any other crosses. How do you know what qualifies as a "power" when a human with a machine gun could take out so many other creatures without being considered powerful.

I do, but I'm one of those exceptions I mentioned earlier. Just about all IA soldiers are just ordinary people with access to some of the best mainline technological advancements known in Existence. I have powers, you have powers. Usually, it's anything and everything a normal human can't do.
Right, that's what I don't understand. Why is a human the standard for a "normal" being?
