The highest, most decisive experience is to be alone with one's own self. You must be alone to find out what supports you, when you find that you can not support yourself.

The core of an individual is the mystery of life, which dies when it is 'grasped'. That is also why symbols want to keep their secrets.

Bio

The Harbinger of Ferocity

Agent of the Wild, Aspect of the Ferine
Nature, red in tooth and claw.

"There is, indeed, no single quality of the cat that man could not emulate to his advantage."
- Carl Van Vechten

I am, at my core, a personification and manifestation of those things whose blood and hearts run red with the ferocity of the animal world. It is this which convicts and controls my works, my writing, my being; the force and guidance in which I gain wisdom from. It is what inspires me as a creator and weaver of words, the very thing I admire as an author.

My leanings, savage as they are, are of the feline sort as there exists no greater lineage of beasts whom can be drawn from. No others captivate and motivate my talent and skill as the greatest of cats do.

@The Fated Fallen, I think you might have confused the two beast characters - one of which who is no longer with the party.
Yes.

Well, I admit that was unexpected.
My angle is less one about the reality of it and that the personalities and characters who trope themselves as "insane" and "crazy" really just should be categorized as "random" and "not often appropriate" or simply, more often than many would admit, "childish". I am not fond of trends and the long standing trend of using non-existent, false, public interpretation of "insanity" is just cliché, poor taste and downright grating. It is an excuse and makes for a poor display of character and the person behind it.
It was an amalgam of relating to some of the Guild's members and some of their characters, @Pair of Hearts. It also just included generalities, but that is because it would be unkind to name names and outright mangle characters and dwell on that. It just was spurred by one encounter again.

I might be a savage but I have some form of honor.

It appears something had been here but with time it has vanished...
This has been on my mind for some time with regard to this community among many others out there, so this is not so much an isolated incident. While I should put forward I am not saying this in a hostile way, it is more of an observation I have made that continues to rub the fur the wrong way whenever I see it again.

Madness, insanity and randomness are horrifically abused. There's a sizable, measurable amount of the population that seems to call themselves "insane" and "random" as an identifier and there's a fair amount of it among the Guild. But that's where I have the complaint, in that my complaint isn't some sort of political correctness crusade that they are offending people with real psychological disorders, more so that it is worn as a badge and excuse to do anything and everything because, "lolcrazy an random". It is this nebulous mantra that has some how developed an acceptable line of behavior and logic that varies from those that just use it as an excuse to those who abuse it as a right to say or do anything without needing a reason or having expectations. This irritates me for a myriad of reasons because I am on the exact opposite end of the spectrum; I live by a strong code that doesn't vary, doesn't change, doesn't make exception and doesn't relent - it isn't for the ninety-nine percent of other people out there and I openly acknowledge that.

But I am on the Internet, am I not? Sounds more like a personal problem after all. It is, which is why I discredit that portion of my frustration with it - because our personalities do not mesh by nature - and focus more on the fact that it is exceedingly overrepresented and used as a throw away means to eek by. It is not funny, fun, cute or non-invasive; in fact, it is the exact opposite of those things. Some of us would like to hold a conversation that doesn't devolve into "madness" because "insert-reason-of-the-day-here" or have a discussion derailed because it is "too serious". I shouldn't have people attempting to guilt me out of a more mature, thought-provoking conversation just because everyone else wants to live it up.

I am perfectly willing to admit I am bitter and jaded, I am not a reliable source by these virtues and others, but I cannot be the only one who experiences this as anything short of childishness. No, I am not proclaiming "no fun allowed" but more so that it dominates interaction, has no standards, rules or expectations and is notoriously interrupting. It is everywhere and worn like some badge of honor that grants immunity to criticism. The concentration just seems to be growing with time, even in communities that already had plenty of it.

That ends this sabertooth's rant.
I was indeed hoping you would be able to persuade them, @Ryonara for those reasons among others, but it seems that isn't quite as viable as it used to be. Either way, I apologize as the player - as much as I would want my character to delay, there's no real reason he would. He neither speaks Draconic nor knew this was going to be Parum's coming approach. Not a personal effort to spite you, this I assure you.
As almost a singular, fluid motion the man stepped in before the woman to his left and cleared the edge of the ruined building. Dedicated to his movement and footing himself as he was, the sword he bore in both hands began its skyward momentum, carrying up before him from his lower right to soon at an angle across his hide and chain clad sizable figure; the edge of the steel's point clipping the wood of the structure's wall before it returned down, preparing another following swing to come in its wake. It was however just as his initial strike began, the air leaving his lungs in a controlled exhale, did his aggressive eyes note the small woman not more than a few feet away - body exposed to their slings and arrows - just out of reach and more so, out of her mind. Brannor was not afraid of battle, especially not this sort as it was a righteous calling that spoke to his heart, but either the halfling was very bold and very brave or truly crazed to throw herself out into the open as lightly defended as she was.

There was not time enough to question what it was she was doing as the greatsword settled itself again in the steel and leather bound fists of the hunter who then grit his fierce jaw and prepared his advance. In all truth however, the weapon's attack and the man's obvious intent to press forward and eliminate the invaders of Greenest certainly did not help what it was Parum was trying to do. But there was little that could be done about that, if at all.

Brannor was not willing to show the servants of this monster any relent or any remorse even if he had known.

After reading several articles about it, the only certain thing I can find is this.

You can communicate however you are able, through brief utterances and gestures, as you take your turn.
p190 Fifth Edition Player's Handbook

Which is a divergence from Third Edition, meaning there's really no option here but to engage because of circumstance. Accounting for this, I am going to proceed.
That's the issue @VKAllen, as if they do not respond the only credible interpretation at hand is that they're going to fight. There's no reason for Brannor to change any course of action he has - which is to eliminate the kobolds - without a change in the scenario. Mostly it is just to give Parum a chance to do something, as much as I don't believe the kobolds are going to do anything but fight us.
