MIA for another week, pharmacy once again doesn't have my meds ready and without them I can barely function so from tomorrow onwards I'm gonna be away while I try and get it sorted

Mel nodded her head and turned to go back towards the palace, though she had only taken a few steps before she stopped again to look over her shoulder at them. "The two of you aren't going to do something foolish, are you?"

"Whatever would make you think that?" Tauriel protested indignantly. "Of course not! We will be right behind you."

"Let's keep moving, we can't stop!" Thorin called to the others as he pushed his barrel to the shore, letting Maleficent help him out of the barrel as with his clothes soaked through he didn't have enough strength, as exhausted as he was, to do it alone. He then helped the fae to get the others onto the shore as well.

Kili could only take a few steps once he was on the shore before his leg collapsed underneath him, he groaned loudly in pain and put his hand on the wound, as if it would help, gritting his teeth together.

"Durin's Day is the start of the Dwarvish new year, it is the day when the last sun of autumn and the first moon of winter appear in the sky together." Thorin explained.
"Then we must reach the mountain before then!" Balin spoke urgently. "We'll have to be standing in exactly the right spot at exactly the right time, then and only then can the door be opened!"

Elrond turned to look at the dwarves, an expression of stern disapproval in his features. "So this is your purpose, to enter the mountain."
"What of it?!" Thorin growled defensively, this elf had no right to tell them whether they could or could not reclaim their home.
"There are some who would not deem it wise." Elrond answered simply.
"Like you?" Thorin scoffed. He clearly wasn't going to take Elrond's warning seriously.

Thorin sighed and looked at Balin.
"We don't have a choice, Balin." he reminded his kinsman, passing the map over to Lord Elrond. The elf spread the map out carefully on the pedestel and looked upwards towards the moon. "These runes were written on Midsummer's Eve, the same moon that shines down on us now." he explained, as suddenly shafts of silvery light reflected on the pedestel. As they hit the parchment of the map, Thorin and Balin looked on in amazement as glowing letters appeared where there had once been blank parchment.

"Stand by the grey stone, when the thrush knocks, and the setting sun on the last light of Durin's Day, will shine upon the key hole." recited Elrond, his finger tracing along the parchment as he read the words.
