I think I know what difficulty Klaus might encounter now... since he's a butler and is prone to washing his clothes and everyone elses, someone steals Xinhua's garments and he is forced to discover the perpetrator before he ends up being suspended and framed for a crime he didn't commit... on his first year nevertheless :^)
Made a few edits, but there. Anyway, long ass post is long. As of now, the first arc of the RP has officially begun. I hope you don't regret pulling the numbers you did.
Speaking of, @Migyudon, pick a letter from A to E.
A deep rumbling could be heard by some students approaching the mess hall. At first, they thought it was an earthquake, until a shadow fell over them and they turned around. Blotting out the sun was an eight foot tall monstrosity, dressed in a raggedy suit and tie. It smelled of blood and other vital fluids, and it's very presence exuded death and misery. On it's head was a rounded helmet of dark iron, that did nothing to obscure the bright read pinpricks of its eyes.
In the early morning cold, it's breath came out in cloudy bunches of mist as it lumbered through the students, scarcely paying them attention, as though they were gnats beneath his feet - which, given his height, was less of an exaggeration than what would be expected. Many other students stepped out its path or otherwise bolted out of fear.
This hulking giant was Morholt, and here he was known as the Death Knight.
Despite how slowly he moved, his strides covered five steps more than the regular human, and he made it to the mess hall in no time at all. His reception there was as chilling as it was outside, and at once, students that were in line for food stepped out of the way for him the moment he approached.
Unfortunately, given how many students were currently crowded inside, it was impossible for everyone to completely avoid bumping into the giant, and eventually someone did; as students pushed each other out of the way, one of them was eventually overwhelmed, and pushed into the direction of the oncoming giant, bumping straight on to Morholt's thigh, before falling to the floor.
The girl didn't seem to know what happened at first, before her head suddenly jerked up to look at the giant overshadowing her. Horror and realization are funny thing to see in combination, and both were in full display as it slowly sunk in what had just happened.
And then she screamed.
Karen shot to her feet and froze, her eyes darting around like a cornered rabbit, looking everywhere but at the boy she just ran into.
"Uhyeahhithere," she said quickly. "Uh, food was good, yep."
"Oh god oh geez oh why please kill me now why oh why oh why oh god?!"
The one thing that was preventing from running back into her room, stuffing her head into a pillow and burying herself under the blankets was the presence of her roommate in front of her. Her earlier enthusiasm backfired on her as a wave of embarrassment washed over her, coloring her neck and ears bright red.
So much for first impressions!
Inhaling deeply and trying to retain what little composure she had left - if there was any left at all - the plague mage willed herself to look into the other boys eyes. "Ate already, thank you. Name's Karen, uh, Almira. Nice to meet you," as a result of her trying to avoid stuttering, she spoke robotically, her tone flat and clipped. Unaware of that, however, Karen patted herself on the back.
"Alright, doing well, Karen, now just keep the conversation going!"
Taking a step back, Karen jerked her head towards the room. "So, um, what's your name?"
Unbeknownst to Kai, Karen was currently screaming internally.
Inhaling deeply, XinHua took in the morning air with delight. While the weather was far removed from that of her homeland, it was nevertheless one that agreed with her. If only the people were the same.
Standing head and shoulders taller than most her age, it was natural that heads would turn as she strode past them. Not helping that was the fact that she was beautiful, a fact that she was well aware of, and though she was proud of her looks, it was second to her pride in her martial skill; everything considered, she would gladly do away with her looks if it meant furthering her skills. She'd rather impress people with her prowess in battle than in a beauty pageant.
Unfortunately, she'd attracted attention both negative and positive from either aspect. On one end of the spectrum, she'd had people confessing their love and admiration of her near daily, some even worshiping the very ground she walked on, on the other end were women jealous of her looks, men (sometimes women) outraged by her rejection of their affections, and those that bore resentment after foolishly challenging her, only to quickly be put in their place.
Even her roommates were not exempt. In the four years that have passed here, each and everyone of her roommates had caused problems one way or the other - the most egregious of which was the violation of her personal effects as a female roommate stole her undergarments and sold them to admirers without her knowledge. She'd found out after pretending to leave and borrowing her hawks vision to root out the perpetrator.
Her wrath after finding out the truth was truly something to behold. If she recalled, that particular student dropped out the next year. It was only a shame that she was unable to recover her lost items before she disappeared.
In any case, she could only hope like she had done all other years that her roommates would not be as unpleasant.
When she came upon her room, she'd found the lights already open, and sensed the presence of others inside. It seemed she was not the first to arrive. Knocking on the door, the dragon god's apprentice unlocked the door and made her way inside, in time to hear . . .
"My name is Klaus Knuez; I'll be rooming here with you for the year. Tis' a pleasure to make your acquaintance, Lady...?"
A young man dressed in western servile clothes was bowing to a young woman. It seemed these two were to be her roommates for the year.
"I am XinHua, given name of Yinyin; you may refer to me by my courtesy name, Nulong," she announced imperiously, her full height bearing down on the pair.
@Savo@HylianRose Nina Goodman was feeling slightly irritated. The day started off normal enough, as things went through routine procedure and students made way for the Mess Hall. It went down from there when she made the mistake of delaying getting in line for the pancakes section; apparently, even with seven different stalls dedicated to the food, there was still one heck of a wait time - she'd been waiting for fifteen minutes, and was only now getting within view of the stall.
It was just as it was her turn to be served that suddenly the line began to shift, and people began bumping into each other. As irritated as she was, she began pushing back against the crowd, unmindful of what caused the sudden shift, even as a shadow fell over her.
After shoving the boy behind her back, her brief moment of satisfaction was abruptly cut short as she was shoved from the side, lost her balance, and crashed straight into a pillar.
"Hm?" That was strange. There weren't any pillars near this part of the Mess Hall.
From the ground, she looked up. And up. And up.
Staring back at her with red eyes was a face she had never, ever, in her wildest nightmares, imagined encountering from up close. With a rounded dark iron helmet and standing taller than any living human, was the infamous Death Knight.
He was notorious for brutalizing his hapless opponents in his duels, beating them as near to death as the wards would allow. It was said that he had shed so much blood that he still smelled of it wherever he went. From up close, Nina had no trouble believing that.
It was then she realized that she didn't bump into a pillar. Her eyes went wide and her mouth parted as the reality of the situation slowly sunk in.
Morholt took a step forward.
"HYYAA-AAAAAAH!"
The reaction was electric, her scream jolting the crowd around her into a frenzy. Students fled away from her with cries of their own, inciting further panic. A few more stout-hearted individuals stepped between her and Morholt, but their resolve quickly shattered as he reacted by growling at them. At the threatening sound, their knees shook and they took a step back in fear.
All except one.
"Tsk, have some class would you? Even a brute like you ought to know better than to threaten a woman so."
Standing tall and dressed in a pinstriped gray jacket and white undershirt, another face, equally infamous among the students of the university, stood seemingly unphased by the giant standing before him.
"Hrm," rumbled Morholt, taking a step forward. "Move."
"Hmmm . . . no, I don't think I will."
As tensions escalated between the two, a woman in the background with strawberry blonde curls observed them coolly.
It was only through Cheshire and sheer dumb luck that Charlotte evaded being overwhelmed. With the cats sensory abilities, Charlotte ran off to the side to find higher ground and take cover, which was how she found herself in a rickety old building. This was the most chaotic position she'd ever found herself in. Swarms of technicolor girls covered the streets and explosions rocked the earth. She could easily make out Dragon from the lighting flying off the ground, and she was relieved to see Spectrum safe in the skies.
Unfortunately, the same could not be said for her.
She grimaced as a clones entered the building, rushing after her. Using her augmented strength, she kicked one, sending it crashing into another before racing up the stairs. Cheshire remained invisible and was keeping track of the movements of several of the clones, directing Charlotte on how to avoid them.
At the second floor, Charlotte leapt into the neighboring building, clones following after her before she hurled a coach at them mid-jump, causing them to fall into a pile to the ground below and explode in a flashy display of technicolor gore.
Grimacing, Charlotte looked around for an item she could use as a weapon. Coming here without her guns was definitely a mistake, but not one she could afford time agonizing over.
@Kaesus I believe I posted in the rules about character minimum? Really, I've been lax with said rule so far but your post is giving me very little to work with at under 500 characters.
Karen looked at her things, and for the third time that morning, went through them to make sure everything was there. Not that there was actually anything wrong with them, but for the lack of something to do. The moment she finished breakfast, she made a beeline for her room and promptly unpacked; she could have done something like talk with people and make friends but unfortunately she didn't have the constitution to spontaneously interact with strangers - which is why she ended the whole of the last year with absolutely no friends, much to her dismay.
Before this year had began, she resolved to change that; to be better at socializing as well as show her master some actual results with regards to her magic, however she had already flubbed the former and she had no hope about accomplishing the latter.
So, that was how she found herself alone in her room in the wee hours of the morning, rifling through her things for the fourth time. Sighing dejectedly, Karen put her things down and set them aside. This was starting to get pathetic, even for her.
Change wouldn't happen unless she took a step forward and did something, right!?
Her resolved suddenly bolstered from out of nowhere, she stood up and made her way towards the door, thoughts already filled with ideas like walking around and making friends (of course the details of how that would happen eluded her) and taking a deep breath, she thrust the door open and gave herself a running start, fearing that if she waited any longer, she might lose this sudden burst of confidence.
And that was when she ran face first into boy, sending the both of them tumbling into the ground.
