This sounds like it could be a fun adventure!

Was thinking of making an ex-marine engineer, turned scavenger mercenary. Kind of like space Punisher/Batman vibe. He would now be leading his own small PMC, and working for a bioengineering and technological company. I could also possibly create the head of the company, and incorporate that onto why their particular group is on the ship?

Exploration, the sense of discovery and adventure. A desire that has always been with humanity since the beginning. From simple wanderers to hardy explorers. Discovering new lands and new horizons. Even as humanity started to explore and expand itself across the solar system. Starting settling the moon in 2030 and then Mars in 2036. From there it was simply and matter of time before humanity under the United Nations of Earth expanded across the system. This was made possible thanks to the invention of the Argos engine in 2050. Which cut down travel time between planets from weeks to days and was efficient enough to be commercially available by 2060.

Then the big change for humanity and what officially started a new age of exploration and colonization was the invention of a faster than light drive in 2125. Created by scientists Balram Nene and Louseres Aroyan and called the Nene-Aroyan Jump Drive. It is able to open a portal to a dimension called hyperspace and by traveling in it. Can make ships travel faster than light and cover large distances with ease. Starting a colonization drive that saw humanity's reach past the solar system.

By 2195 humanity and expanded to twenty systems and the United Nations of Earth in order to properly manage their interstellar holdings. Reformed itself into the United Systems Union or USU with Earth as its capital. Entering into a period of peace and prosperity.

In 2225, a new initiative under the Union to explore beyond the Union's borders and venture into deep space was created. Called the Discovery Initiative, under it a new type of ship the Athena class cruiser was built from scratch. Specifically designed for traveling in deep space for years at a time. After five years the newly christened Endeavor was finally finished and would start her maiden voyage from the outer world of Talos. Beginning a long trip to what lies beyond the Union's borders and in deep space. The start of the Pathfinder's journey into the unknown.

Overview

Hello and this is a sci-fi rp about the crew of the exploration/science ship the Pathfinder. in the year 2225, as it starts its journey in exploring beyond the borders of Union space and into deep space. What they will find you will find out. Alien and unique worlds, new forms of life or minerals, lost ruins of an ancient civilization, or maybe even sentient alien life. Who knows what the Pathfinder will find in its journey. As for what your character can be role-wise, scientist, soldier, or whatever, it can be anything as long as it makes sense for them to be on the ship. Which you can be heads of the several departments if you wish. Also feel free to add to the worldbuilding when making a cs.

The Pathfinder

The Pathfinder is the first of her class of Athena-classed deep space cruisers. Housing a max of 450 personal. Including support teams and a platoon of 50 marines. The Endeavor has a hanger that houses up to four shuttles/dropships. The Vro Dropship can house up to twelve people and a small bit of cargo. Then the Kodiak Heavy Dropship which can hold a large amount of cargo and forty personal but, also can carry the Exo Truck which is used when traveling by foot or by air on a planet is not available or not advisable.

The Pathfinder along with the standard arrangement of several mess halls, armory, and living quarters which officers and heads of departments get their own rooms and more. The ship comes with a hydroponics deck that supplies most of the food used by the crew when the initial supplies are used up. Also includes a cinema, training areas, bars, recreation areas, and a club. Plus, a A.I. core room that houses the ship's A.I. Victoria.

As for weapons and armor, the Pathfinder comes equipped with formidable defense and offense capabilities. Point defense batteries, a large coilgun built into the superstructure, anti-ship missiles, and laser batteries. Along with a prototype shield that the USU hopes will increase the survivability of the Pathfinder if they find something hostile and also test how well the prototype fares.

So a sci-fi exploration rp and I just wanted to see who would be interested in this.

My my, my siblings have been busy since our birth. Voi noted to himself as he watched the explosions and the continents rising up from the newly formed ocean. It was quite the sight from his spot, just on the edge of the celestial palace. His arms crossed into his sleeves, hiding his hands. The gods working together to help Voligan create land for this young planet. Though Voi did not play a part in it, and the explosions certainly did not help with that.

Not sure that was needed, and at least it did prove to be a rather big spectacle. His siblings know how to make an entrance, it seems.

And the salt, the massive amount of salt in the world. Voi knows his sister Sala's aspect is salt. But using salt to poison parts of this new earth. Shouldn't the land be fertile and fresh? Not dead on arrival? Voi could not but shake his head in disappointment. A blank stale to be created, and she helps to make it more barren than it already was.

Maybe he could mitigate it but, it is too late now. The land has been made, and he doubts Sala would let him make the poisoned salt deserts more habitable. Still, shifting his gaze to the ice rings that surround the planet. A most unexpected feature that Voi is glad to have happened. Something to add to the beauty of this new world. A smile would form on his face even if he had a proper face that was not hidden by the darkness in his hood.

Along with Aethel's tree. That massive-sized tree and the mana he brought with it. Mana is a curious thing that is now in the world. Giving Voi some ideas for the future and then came Phelenia's arrival.

Voi eagerly watched as Phelenia made her way to Galbar. Landing on the barren rock and wasting no time with making the world green. Watching the whole process as the pods grew from her god-fruit and seeds were spread throughout the planet. Seeding it with green and lush life. It was quite the sight, watching a barren world become filled with life. Well, plant life at least, but it is a start.

Making Voi think about what he would contribute to the world. He had some ideas but, one came to mind. However, this world has yet to be seeded with living souls. Voi wants to be ready when they are on Galbar. So Voi closed his eyes, the two bright lights in his hood disappeared, and he raised both of his hands, which started to glow with blue energy. As he focused, the blue energy started to glow brighter and brighter.

From his thoughts of what an afterlife should be. A place for peace for those worthy of it, Elysian Fields. A place for those in between and a chance to go to the Fields, The Grey. And then the permanent place for those that have committed evil, The Ashen Plains for them. His hands started to pulsate with blue energy until it was at its brightest, and it would blind those near him and using his will. Voi shaped and created the afterlife. A place connected to Galbar and every soul that will die there will end up in one of the three realms.

Voi slowly lowered his hands, and the blue energy in his hands dissipated. Opening his eyes, Voi was pleased with his work. Though empty now, they will have souls sooner or later, and he may expand on the three domains if he feels he needs to. Who knows what will be created with souls, and as he finished. Voi realized that he had yet to actually meet with any of his siblings. So turning around and took a moment to see who was still in the celestial palace. It seems there are still a good amount of his siblings here, and he heard one speak.

"I am Homura. It would be a pleasure to speak with you."

"Homera," saying it softly to himself. Voi decided that she would be the first he would meet and made his way towards her. Once he was close enough, Voi greeted her kindly, "Hello Homera, I am Voi, and it is a pleasure to meet with one of my siblings."

Physical appearance: 6'0 ft tall, Dark red eyes, long white hair, a scar on his left cheek. Normally wearing noble clothing except when in the field or away from the kingdom. When in the field, Talvdus tends to wear more casual noble clothing. Not the one for elegant clothing when in the field.

History: The young prince Talvdus Avathi of the Lunaris Elf kingdom of Uzarin. Being the youngest of five and with no magical talent, Talvdus was not expected to inherit anything or gain any title of note. Instead of simply resign to living a life of no importance and just waste time with parties and wine. Talvdus threw himself into training as a warrior. One of the few things he could excel at. Becoming strong and proficient with several melee weapons.

Once he was old enough, Talvdus joined the military and due to his skills but mainly because he was a royal. He was granted control of a
large company of heavy infantry. Mainly made up of lowborns with nobility as officers. Talvdus wasted no time in gauging his troops and seeing that they were a somewhat misfit group. So he started drilling him and getting them into a proper fighting force, despite some opposition from his men. Over time Talvdus found that his company was getting into fighting shape, and soon he would be satisfied but, events within the kingdom would make Talvdus and his company see action.

For relations with the nearby orcish kingdom of Qeazar were tense, and an incident with the champions that were sent out left several dead on both sides. The orcs declared war, and Uzarin would marshal its forces. Talvdus's company would see action several times during the war but, it was during the siege of Osenlian, a key city, that Talvdus and his company would make themselves known. When the orcs managed to destroy a piece of the wall, and a breach was formed with no troops nearby but his to secure the breach. Without orders, Talvdus ordered his company to secure the breach when the orcs started a charge at the exposed wall. Despite the strength of the orcs soldiers and the line held with Talvdus being in the thick of it with his men.

Eventually, the orcs retreated from the breach, and reinforcements came to help Talvdus's company secure the breach. In the end, the orcs were forced to end the siege and retreat from the city. Thus, winning the day for the besieged elves and for their efforts to save the city. Talvdus and his company were commended for their bravery and fortitude in securing the breach and denied the orcs entry into the city despite the odds. Talvdus was only happy that they did their job despite it all and personally congratulated his company.

Talvdus and his men would continue to fight, and the war would end with Uzarin winning the war. By then, the Ebony Shields, as Talvdus called them, had become famous in the kingdom. With Talvdus finally getting what he wanted, a chance to prove himself and be known more than being just a prince. Though this celebration would not last as news of the darkness was spreading and kingdoms were falling one by one. Realizing the coming threat of the darkness, Uzarin joined the growing coalition of nations to combat the threat as they were deciding on who to send to join the coalition's forces. The king, Fovesu Avathi, soon knew just who to send. So Talvdus and the Ebony Shields, after being boosted in size to 500, were sent to join the coalition's forces and helped to stop the darkness from taking over.

Equipment: Talvdus is equipped with ebony-colored steel heavy armor with a large steel shield. With his family's personal crest on his shield. Armed with steel mace with a sword as a backup weapon.

Abilities: Talvdus is a skilled warrior, able to use several melee weapons like a sword to great effect. Along with being an able leader and tactician.

History: Starting as a company of heavy troops that were not tested yet. It was not until prince Talvdus was assigned to command them that things started to change for the company. Their training and drilling under Talvdus made them ready for the war with the orcish Kingdom of Qeazar. Their high note of the war and what made them into the Ebony Shields was the siege of Osenlian. A key city in the region that if it was not for the fast-acting and stubborn Shields. The city would have fallen to the orcs and they were praised highly for it. Officially named the Ebony Shields by Talvdus and would see more action until the war's conclusion. Which by that time, had made them famous in the kingdom and were ultimately chosen by the king to join the coalition's forces in battling the darkness.

Country: The Ebony Shields are from the Lunaris Elf kingdom of Uzarin. A medium-sized nation located in the south, along the Treterel river that is the last river on the right side of the Innistou Mountains. Ruled by the Avathi Dynasty even since its founding centuries ago. The kingdom of Uzarin is mainly known for their scholarly pursuits. Hosting a good amount of libraries and academies. Enjoying good relations with most of its neighbors except for the orcish Kingdom of Qeazar. For they hold grudges against Uzarin over past wars and incidents. Leading to a military buildup in the kingdom in case of a future war. Which now recognizing the threat of the coming darkness, they are preparing a defense of the kingdom if the darkness reaches their borders.
