Antlers Heilia: Return of the King
The world of Heilia has been through alot. A world once filled with magic and life has been reduced to one with less magic and life barely surviving. All because of the actions of a single being. The human mage, Kron Kaln, and his infamous search for knowledge. That his purpose for unending knowledge of the cosmos would corrupt him as he came into contact with a being known as the World Ender. A powerful being from deep space and Kron would end up helping the World Ender with being it to Heilia.
There were those who would stand up and try to stop Kron and the Other from their plans. Only while Kron was killed during the final ritual and a portal opened to the World Ender in deep space. The heroes knew they could not defeat the World Ender, and so they did what they knew would save Heilia from the World Ender. So one of them sacrificed themself and they let him their power so he could become a Paragon. A vessel for the Gods. The god Thono took the call, and a fight would ensue between Thono and the World Ender. While Thono managed to land a killing blow on the World Ender right before the Paragon's power was used up. The World Ender in a last-ditch effort to spite his enemy. He used was a left of his power and summoned a large meteor. He sent it down crashing on Heilia's surface.
While the meteor did not destroy the world, there would be survivors. The meteor's effects were cataclysmic, and magic itself was damaged by the meteor's impact.
That was five hundred years ago, and the world is still recovering from what is called the Destroyer's Meteor. But, magic never recovered, and the world's magic became less and less active. Where mages were born, fewer and fewer each year. Magical beings were becoming more hidden and declining. Until magic stabilized and while magic was still around and mages were still being born. It was significantly less than the world before the Destroyer's Meteor.
But, in the power vacuum left by the meteor, new types of power would emerge in its place. The most prominent being psionics, which those with its power have grown over the centuries. Along with a new type of mineral being discovered at the remnants of the meteor, Starglass. An unusual material that looks like glass but is tough as steel and can be shaped into various forms. Even combined if used right, only a master smith or glassworker is capable of shaping and combining Starglass.
Now, while the people of Heilia are doing well and thriving despite the lingering effects of the meteor. There is a new threat to the world. A being long forgotten enemy who with the decline of magic. Its prison could no longer hold them, and now it seeks to finish what it started thousands of years ago. A new band of heroes is needed to defeat this threat before it is too late.
