I'll be making a post here Wednesday. Been busy with irl work and such in general otherwise in the meantime. (@_@)

Okay, good to know and take your time.

What did they use for writing then? because when i looked it up all i could find was that they had advanced past the point of clay tablets/slate

Where did you find that? Since I am finding that the Minoans still used clay tablets. Give me a link to what you found. But about parchment... it seems I was a bit wrong, and it could be around. Papyrus would be around as well. Sorry about that.
Okay TruckKun, so I may have been too hard on you about the Damascus Steel part but, to even attempt to try and make Damascus Steel which no one knows how they made it. You would have to invent some stuff before you can try to make Damascus Steel. Like a Kiln and maybe even a blast furnace. Plus, I want to say a source of iron outside of iron meteorites, since finding enough to smelt it and steel, if that is possbile and make swords may be hard or not viable if you want to mass-produce it.

And again, parchment has not been invented yet. That was invented in the 2nd century BC. So your char cannot just write down the blueprints for a galley. They would have to find something to write stuff down since your char would not have to know how to invent parchment.
Damascus is made from several different layers of metal forged together, then acid etched to show the pattern, it is a forging technique, wich ignoring all ways to get this save for one, can be procured by forging a meteorite.

Crucible steel is what you are talking about. But that is made by melting different kinds of iron and some other stuff like sand and glass together. So you need more than meteoric iron and no one is mining iron in this time period. Which yeah Damascus Steel is crucible steel, but, no one knows how Damascus Steel was made since the techniques were lost and the attempts to make it used steel that was very similar to Wootz steel or used different kinds of steel and iron to make it.

Plus, meteoric iron is already iron, no need to smelt, and that is why people used it in the Bronze Age. They did not need to smelt it to use it like with iron ore, and they just hammered it into the shape they wanted. So you have to invent a furnace that can reach the temperature needed to melt the iron since that has not been invented yet.

Now I could be wrong about stuff but, you would still need to make a setup where your char could do this and do it reliably. No one in ancient or modern times makes steel from meteoric iron, so you would be on your own and have no knowledge of how to make steel from meteoric iron using ancient techniques. I am not sure if you can try doing it with a modern technique with no modern setup. Also, it has to be an iron meteorite. Not a random meteorite.

Side note about your post, parchment has not been invented yet. That was invented in the 2nd century BC. So your char cannot just write down the blueprints for a galley. They would have to invent it or a writing surface on which he can write on. But, I do not think your character knows how to do.

@Theyra also, what was the Minoan head of government, i am not having much luck finding out online, so asking you

From what I could find, it is either elite families ruled both the government and religion or a theocracy of some sort, governed by a college of priestesses. So no one ruler ruled the island.

I think I'll make 1 or 2 more posts and I'll be ready for the first timeskip.

Okay, good to know.

I have a question, do you think that the minoans might have had acid? i cant find any info on it
I am asking for the sole purpose (for right now atleast) of acid etching damascus blades

I am going to say no, and why are you going for Damascus Blades? You need Wootz steel to make Damascus steel, and that is from India. Which Wootz steel is nowhere close to being invented yet.

Minoan nor anyone would have access to Wootz steel or Damascus steel to make Damascus Blades for like one thousand+ years.
Aslan Calides

It was good that all of the mercenaries here were on board. Aslan had to admit, it was nice to be with others who shared the same desire for once. Granted, he had to admit to himself. Perhaps he should be more cautious with declaring his intent to Brigitte and her tale. Given what has happened to him. This could be a mistake on his part and could get him finally killed. But the idea of striking against the king and his allies. A thought he has, Aslan was just glad he could find someone with the same drive for revenge. Even if he should be more cautious with it by now.

Still, Brigitte's anger seems real to him, though he wondered how the Luxun bodyguard, Nika will act going against his kin. Despite the reassurance from the young pup. He will watch and see how the two will act. Aslan has managed to get out of danger before, he can do so again if the act of betrayal is noticed.

Either way, all seems to have been settled. Which all three of them joining Brigitte's cause, and with Maeki and Bet providing food and board for the night. Plus, giving them the knowledge of the dwarven rebels. More allies in his quest against the king and his allies. Well, their quest now. It is nice to have allies that he can hopefully trust and see this through. That would be nice for once.

But about Maeki's information about the forests and a pyromancer. That made Aslan cautious. The Luxuns were already combing the forests, a bad sign. But, to his knowledge, none of his kin were in those woods. Few would be in these lands, and he has little in the way to contact them. But Aslan would still pray that any kin of his would find safety and be gone from there before it is too late. "Thanks for the warning, Maeki." Aslan said in a respectful tone.

Now, all he can do is rest for the night. After getting some food before that and prepare for the trip, as it does not sound safe. More so, given the state of affairs, once word gets out what has happened to House Fenris. So here's to a good night's sleep and maybe the only good one for a while.

Week 1

Things do not make any sense. That is what I have come to realize after spending some time with Ozen's tribe. Luckily for me, they have given me clothes to wear and have allowed me to stay with them. At least until I can find my people and return home, who knows how long that will take. But, as I have stayed with the tribe and noticed some things. Nothing makes sense, and I have no clue where I am.

For starters, Ozen's tribe, a small one, are nomads. That is clear now since I asked about farming or other foods. They looked at me with confusion. So I dropped it and focused on what they had. They have carts, horses, and some animals. Mainly cattle, sheeps and goats. Which I have asked that they move with the seasons to ensure their animals get food and do not starve.

Now, there are not many nomads left in the world, from what I remember, but these people are too primitive. No iron or steel or anything that indicates that they know or have anything of the modern world. Not even saddles of all things. Which I have tried asking questions about the world, and what they know, but after getting answers that give me nothing but looks and confusion. I now have even less idea of where I am or how I got here. Because, based on what I have observed. I am not even sure how I am understanding them since they know nothing about America, and yet I can understand them. Either they speak English, or something else is happening, and I am just confused.

What has happened to me, and why am I here? Wherever I am? But at least despite my situation. I know I can stay with Ozen's tribe and be safe and fed during my time here. Which by Ozen's advice, I should make myself useful to the tribe while I stay with them. Advice I agree with, and I have been helping around where I could. I know little about the lives of nomads, but I am starting to learn.

But, one fact that I am surprised with about them is that, despite being nomads. They have knowledge of metals, since I have seen some of the tribe with gold and silver ornaments. Plus, copper and bronze tools and weapons. So at least they have that and not solely sticking with stone and bone.

Still, maybe by staying with the tribe, I can find someone who knows where I am, and while I am not sure if I can find someone who knows how to get me back home. It will be a learning experience either way. Either way, I plan on helping the tribe and learning more about the area. I am just glad that I have someone to help me survive wherever I am at. So, here goes living with nomads and who knows. Maybe I can find a way home, but for now, here goes nothing.

Im fine with this because i think that my civ already has a buncha resources due to trade, and i think it could be fun

I am going to say you do not have to do it if you do not want to. More so if you think you have access to what resources you are okay with.
Hmmm, though I guess there is a reason why he is being quiet.

@LG I saw you visited my profile.
