Either RolePlayerGuild.com is glitching, or everyone is studiously ignoring my PMs.

I agree with all that has been said. After xeno was yelling about how we all stink at rping I kinda got too intimidated to do much. But more focus on character relations would certainly help things, after all who doesn't love other people paying attention to themselves?

I figured Xeno's comments might intimidate you guys. I kinda resented him doing that, not gonna lie. I think he saw us as dragging him down or something, as if his talents were wasted here. But I don't look at us that way. When I compare Xeno versus us, I don't see a good writer versus bad writers. I see a great writer (being generous here) versus good writers. Even the worst writers among us are better than half the writers I've met online. You're good at what you do, and you're only going to get better. I'm proud to stand among you. Don't let the elites get you down.

Speaking of character relations, that's precisely what this RP needs to stay alive (and something I've harped on previously). Take an interest in other player characters. We write for each other, not just for the GM. It's something I forget too sometimes, so I'll try to write more targeted and relevant posts.
@Darkmoon Angel, @Rekaigan's Zenovia addressed Ivan IC and asked if he was okay.

The sun dipped below the horizon, streaming deep hues of blue through the night sky. When at last its light vanished, the stars began to peek out.

"Go where...Tiberius?" Kaite had said. "It found us in- nngh...th' middle 'a nowhere." The woman growled with impatience. "If 'e wanted us dead...well, y'know."

Which was a good point. The idea that such a powerful enemy had merely stumbled upon them by coincidence was an improbable one. Worse, the man/beast/thing was quite capable of besting them even with the benefit of Erudessa's power. If he wanted them dead, he could have killed them. Xen couldn't quite decide which was worse - dying at evil's hand, or being used for evil.

The Storyteller seemed more concerned with the more immediate matter at hand, which Xen was grateful for, since it distracted from the long term problems facing the group. "The last time I saw her was somewhere between when we roped Vert into our journey and when we left High Council Hill. I haven't seen her since," the Storyteller said. He bent down to resume writing in his book. "If that fiend truly has taken her," The Storyteller added, "Then I fear we may not see her again...In this world, at least."

Panicked as Xen was, he realized the others were right - Dionaea was long gone and probably dead. Even if one or both were untrue, there was little they could do about it tonight, not with their energy shot and wounds to patch up. A couple people even had broken swords. They weren't in any shape to fight.

So Xen put down the broken bow and put one foot on a nearby rock. "Okay everyone, we camp here for the night. I will keep watch. Laina, supper's on you tonight."

He opened his pack and began setting up his tent. He hadn't heard a faint rustling in the bushes a little ways off.

But Tiberius heard it.
@Thinslayer

It could do with a few more explosions.

xD

Yes, I think more tension would be useful. Like, if the characters were on a timetable, or they had to "get there in time" for something, there's be more motivation.

I'll keep that in mind. ;)

Does the story need improvement as well? I was wondering if maybe the hype was lost because it wasn't what you were expecting.
@rush99999
Do you have any ideas for how to improve the RP?

Okay. so I have some difficult questions to ask. The RP is seriously stagnating, and I'm hearing complaints ranging from writer's block to excessive business. I find that when a person really wants to write, there's not much that'll stop them. Having lots of real-life work isn't actually as much of a problem as we make it out to be - I can personally whip up a solid post on my Android during a 10-minute break if I know exactly what I'm doing. The fact that I have to prod people to make them post after days of inactivity sets off alarm bells in my mind, and I aim to diagnose it.

* Do you still want to play this RP?
* Do you still find it fun?
* Is participation difficult?
@ineffable There is more to being a healer than being a body mechanic. Some party members have been hurt in ways that no magic can heal. And more than just healing wounds and injuries, the job of the healer is to reinforce, strengthen, and bolster the individuals under their care. You could make the champions a healthy meal so they will be prepared for tomorrow's trials. You could sing them songs to ease their weary souls. Or, in this specific circumstance (with Dionaea suddenly found missing), you could calm their fears and help them think more clearly.

Or you could even be a leader. There's no one saying you can't bark out orders or show them how to handle all the revelations they've just had. Help them make sense of it all, give them clarity and purpose.

Don't just sit around waiting for people to act so you can react. If everyone did that, the RP would stagnate. Take initiative and do something. Heck, maybe even consider starting your Subplot.

Act, don't just react.

EDIT: I just had an idea. If you're feeling useless, maybe Laina is too. Convey that to somebody IC and use it to bond.

The new round has begun IC. I don't know if anyone noticed, but I will be posting new characters and updating old ones from time to time on the Characters thread. Keep an eye out. ;)

Tiberius said, "We need to go. This position is compromised, and who knows what else is coming our way. I fear we have a long night ahead of us."
"Go where, Tiberius?" Kaite retorted. "It found us in the middle of nowhere. If he wanted us dead...well, you know."

Xen'Desh, meanwhile, barely registered Tiberius' words as he picked up the broken bow that the Warlock had dropped on the ground. The Scout is a nice trophy, the Warlock had said.
Dionaea Sycamore was our scout. She wielded the bow.
Panic seized him. He looked around the camp for the auburn-haired wood elf. She wasn't there. Horror dawned on him as he realized that he hadn't seen her for a long time during their journey, and considered the possibility that they had left her behind for the Warlock to kidnap. Xen held up her bow and cried out, "Has anyone seen Dionaea?"

There was no ignoring the growing pit in his stomach. The Warlock could have teleported her away, and if so, there was no possible way they'd get to her before anything terrible happened. They were too far from Fellmore and too exhausted. Yet he hated to wait even a single moment longer than he needed.

"Anyone?"
