A big deal? Sure her powers were handy, but she seemed more like a big liability than a big deal. Max watched in amusement as Glow began to light up the sewers. "Woah." The lights began to dance around the tunnel until the lit up the area for Erg to begin the blackout. "I know this isn't Dungeons and Dragons but...that's clearly dancing lights and I cant wait to see more." He began to follow one of the orbitals for a few steps before he was caught off guard by another mutant. Stretch, was his name, and making horrible jokes seemed to be his game. Although, how much is he able to stretch?

Max shook the idea out of his head and offered a hand to Jack. "Names Tome, I uh...well it's kinda hard to say, so let's just say I'm a sorcerer. As for why we are all here, we had some run in with the authorities, being mutants and all. Sunshine and I held them back long enough to make a break into the sewers, after a while of getting lost we ran into Blink and Erg who kindly let us take refuge here. Speaking of, they mentioned getting branded like Hester Prynne, but I dont seem to see the mark on you. Are you not a Morlock?" Max looked Jack up and down, searching for any hint of the brand onto his body. As he examined him he realised, he may not know how old Stretch was, but he was really fine looking.

Xris sat there with his headphones over his ears and music playing, not paying much attention as he waited until a strange character approached him and began to speak. He could barely make out the words his lips were making, catching the jist of an introduction. "Names Xris, with an X. Doing fine, You ok?" He slid the headphones down around his neck as he began to scan the room, and then Pablo, wondering if he was part of the staff that text had mentioned earlier. It appeared Pablo went down the line speaking to each student near him, introducing himself as the assembly waited anxiously for the president to arrive. "Chances the President or war hero skived on us as this is a shambles of a school."

Some time passed by and Xris noticed his roommate was over on the stage, most likely being a suck up and having asked to be part of this security force detail. Xris' phone went off and he saw a text from the damned blue number again. "Blimely, does this cock ever give up?" he said as he noticed Pablo getting up and gesturing them to follow, not moment laters he saw the man standing next to Charles pointing at their direction. Does no on one this school know discretion? Xris grasped Pablo's arm into a Roman Clasp and spoke in hushed tones "Have you lost the plot? You're being obvious mate and that Bobby over there just pointed us out."

Salem quickly started to get things prepared as he did yesterday, setting out the trays for her to choose and drink from, while putting on the kettle, and hurriedly grabbing a set of tea cups. A loud thud could be heard as a cast iron tea cup fell onto the floor near his foot. Salem shook his hand wincing at the slight discomfort and pain from gripping the cup too hard with his injured hand. Slow it down Spellman. No need to exasperate the wound. His right hand picked up the cup, setting on the counter, then going to grab a new one from his room. Salem paused for a moment, staring at the empty room that was Lucans, thinking to himself If Lilie could have 2 new partners...who's to say that they arent replacing mine after last night?

Nervousness began to swell inside him, choking him as a knot formed in his throat, thinking about who his possible new partner could be and how much worse it may make things. He found his hand shakily making it's way towards his neck, similar to what one does when choking. As soon as his finger tips touched the skin on his neck, it was as if a bright flash went off in his mind. Salem began to think back on the light before, the feeling of someone pouring through his mind as if it was theirs to play with. By the time Salem shook out of it, he was sitting on the ground against the doorframe of his bedroom, staring blankly at the wall before him.he cleared his throat and moved into his room to grab a new cup from the set and made his way back towards the living area. As he set the cup down, a soft knock could be heard coming from his front door.

Hours passed and the screaming of the kettle subsided while Salem lay on the couch passed out. The metal was now burning hot from having sat for so long, yet it hadnt reached the point of melting quite yet. A loud commercial began to play on the television and startled him awake. A small wet trail dribbling on the corner of his mouth as he groggily turned off the t.v. and stood up. Salem rubbed his eyes for a moment and then placed his glasses on, looking towards the kitchen and seeing the stove still on. "Shit shit shit shit shit." Salem ran towards the kitchen, turning off the stove and grabbing the kettle, immediately dropping it onto the ground as it burned his hands. "Hot hot fuck hot!" he quickly ran through the cabinets and grabbed a bottle of yellow mustard and began to rub it onto the burned area and around. Now getting to the sink and pulling out the hose extension to spray the kettle down, steam began to fill the air, some escaping from the inside and screaming once more.

The kitchen now a wet mess, and Salem burned, he retired to his room to quickly grabbed a few products. He grabbed a small trunk that opened up into several compartments that raised and spread to hold a wide array of ingredients and potions. He quickly grabbed a bottle and poured out a viscous cream onto a linen strip of cloth. While it soaked in, and the minty scent began to permeate the air, he cleaned his wound and then dressed it with the linen. A quick look at his phone told him that it was day time and his sleep schedule had been royally fucked. Aaron was no doubt asleep and useless as he couldnt leave the house and the only other person he could co tsct was Lilie, who no doubt was also asleep. He stared at the text he was going to send Lilie the hours prior and decided to send one.

>>Hey Lilie, its Salem, you awake by any chance?

River

Somewhere amongst the chaos of the fight there was Karuu. No matter how hard River attempted to scour the fields he couldnt find out where the marauder had gone off to, out of reach of his spells and incapable of receiving any healing he could lash out. His health bar was stable, for now, but for how long? The question was soon answered as the bar began to plummet, his mana running out he must've been incapable of doing any cooldowns and it appeared any Pots he had left of him were gone. I'll send pepper to search for him. No, it was too dangerous, she hadnt yet healed and the rain would surely tear her to pieces. Hot tears began to roll down Rivers cheek as he watched the bar drop further and further. What was there to do? What could he do? Karuu was no where to be seen, away from the group and out of range of his spells. He didnt have Pepper and Ubi couldnt heal. The bar finally stopped and greyed out. Another loss, another sacrifice to this mad man who plays god. The rain began to stop, and while many players cheered and reveled in the defeat of the floor boss, many more wept and mourned alongside River as they lost their companions to what end?

A loud thud could be heard resonating near him, his head slowly turning to face the origin of the noise. There, in the center of the field, was a large ornate door. The hot air that escaped it rushed passed River, wiping one of his tears away and repacing it with the thick hot air of a rainforest. His clothes began to stick to him and fog shrouded his legs from the knees down. River slowly began to stumble forward, a new world. He leaned against the bark of an incredibly large tree, the fights exhaustion hitting him along with the heat of the air. "Its a terrible day for rain" he muttered as he looked up into the nighta sky, large droplets falling onto his face and covering the tears that were there before. River noticed that the plants seemed abnormally large, but figured that was a thought for a later time. For now he put away his wand and whip and pulled out his staff, using it as a walking stick to make his was towards the Lightning lit city.

Max awkwardly rubbed his arm at the mention of a daughter. A nervous laughter began to emerge at the thought of James and him being together."I don't think I'm quite ready to be a father yet." Max barely spat out as he took a couple steps away from James, his eyes looking back at him every so often. The defenses were amazing, illusionary walls, genius. However the actual base...was left to be desired for. This was no way to make a living theyd need new clothes, sheets, blankets, tarps, the list went on. His eyes began to dance around the room from mutant to mutant, checking their expressions as well as wondering what powers they may hold.

As they made their way towards the chili, James felt the need to spew a few dad jokes, probably to let go of some of the awkward tension that built up from being called a father. He mentioned he was twenty four years old, funny he looked about Max's age but I guess he just aged gracefully. Max's eyes looked away again as he realized the six year gap between the two. That would never work, besides he barely knew him. "I'm eighteen so if you're not ready to be a father, I definitely am no where near it. Thank you for the food by the way. It's much better than having meal supplements and protein bars every day, gotta keep the strength up though. Its not easy ripping into the cosmic fabric of space/time to manifest my desires...or at least the ones that are given to me by an unknown force." Max shrugged and grabbed a bowl of chili, eating it slowly and savoring every bite.
While the others focused on their other instincts and sense, feeling the danger that lurked outside the building with the fallen silence, River focused on a different concern. His heterochromatic eyes stared at the center of the table as the others looked about for the enemy, feeling the tug of some form of magic beginning to make it's way into their dominion. The 'warriors'reached for their swords and began their defensive. However River was on a defense of his own, pulling out a small moss covered stone with a rune on it. The tattoos on his face began to glow as he scanned the table for the magics point of origin, seeing the tear right when the orb appeared. Curious little thing, it began to crackle Lightning, sputtering it about. He reached out and began to chant, a bolt of Lightning strayed and struck the small moss covered stone, the scent of smoke and burning moss beginning to fill the area around him before getting sucked into the stone. Its runic mark now glowing an aetheric blue as a portion of the lightnings magic was trapped within.

"Now that I have that for later. " Rivers hands began to weave, fingers twirling as he seemed to be sculpting something into the air. The bloodied water that was in the bowl began to fly up into the air from the various places it was spattered by the arrival of the new book. It flowed and formed into a small bird as River eyes began to glow, grabbing the bowl once more and filling it with water. A single touch was all it took to still the pool and created a mirror for him to see. With a command the bird flew out and River watched through its eyes from the safety of the bowl. "A creature capable of silencing an entire camp, potentially ripping mine and Beatrixs wards and who may have the title of Butcher, is potentially running amok and you wish to separate on your own to sound the alarms. By all means, go, be brave, and die a fool."

The sound of Xris' phone could be heard resonating throughout the room."Ugh, just five more minutes." he groaned as he went to snooze the alarm. Try as he might, it wouldn't go snooze. Finally Xris shot up with a panicked feeling "What time is it?!" he quickly grabbed his phone and noticed it was 5:40 in the morning. "Oh no oh no oh no oh no, I'm gonna be late" He jumped out of bed, in only a pair of black boxers, and began to rummage through his drawers, grabbing pants, a shirt, a sweater, and socks. His feet hurried into the bathroom as he began to brush his teeth with one hand while attempting to get a dissolved hair look with the other. Satisfied, he began to slip his legs into his pants as he hopped over towards where his shoes lay. After a moment he finally finished getting g ready and checked his phone 5:50am. Xris grabbed his skateboard and over the ear headphones, music blaring, and began skating down the hallways in a race against time.

As he whizzed past students and teachers, trying to make time, he heard someone yell behind him "No skateboarding in the hallways!" Xris barely heard him over his music and gave the disembodied voice a shrug as he summoned his Noble Arm, transforming it as he kick flipped his board into his hands and proceeded to glide off towards homeroom. He checked his phone one last time as he saw the doorway into his class, 5:58 am, perfect still on time. As he neared the doorway, Xris stuck out his staff, using it to help him turn the corner into the door and then dismissing his Noble Arm upon entry. One foot tumbled over the other and he fell, tripping onto the floor and landing near a desk.
"Bloody Hell that smarts. Mornin' Mrs. Ellora, hope I didn't miss much." he said as a nervous laughter escaped him while he got up to make his way towards his seat. While Mrs. Ellora was speaking Xris'phone began to vibrate, there were two messages. One offering a permit out of the assembly and another offering a guaranteed raffle win. Tsk. What a drag, only thing worse than assemblies is playing guard duty or slaving my time away for who knows what. Denied." Xris placed his phone back into his pocket without replying to either.

Tome gave Sunshine a perplexed look. "As a matter of fact, I do have family that would care if I was gone. Only because they would want to make sure that I was either killed or cured first. I've no other plans for now and I wouldn't mind helping out where needed." He looked Blink and Erg up and down for a moment. "I am capable of manifesting clothing into existence...although I cant fully control my powers just yet, and the cosmos has limited me for the time being." Tome walked towards Sunshine, almost past her and towards the two other mutants, placing his hand on her shoulder and giving her a coy wink "Dont worry, I'm not leaving you just yet."

Max dug into his messenger bag and pulled out his the Vogue magazine as well as his Domino mask. He placed the mask onto his face, fitting it snugly like a porcelain mask conforms to your face. He looked at his sullied jacket and gave a slight sigh "This wont do anymore." Max tosses the jacket into the air "Sua Vestimenta Effingo!" The jacket began to disappear into the air, no trace of it left to show it ever existed. "Aus Atnemitsev Ogniffe." His hand still held out, began to have some cosmic wisps swirl around it. The same mustard yellow jacket that was on the page of the magazine, began to swirl with the same energy and flowed into his hand, creating the Jacket as he swung it over his shoulders like a cloak. "Teleportaion, that's handy and very cool. Erg, cant wait to see what you have in store."

After defeating the boss of floor 1, a large ornate door appeared in the center of the field. Beautiful designs were engraved into the metalwork, depictions of foliage wrapped around the frame, with the two doors adorned with images of ruins. A loud thud resonated throughout when the door materialized before the players, letting all know its presence. One player approached the mass and touched where the French doors met. The sound of steam hissing could be heard as the doors slowly opened outwards, thick heavy fog rolling across the fields of the dungeon, coating the players feet, making it impossible to see what laid beneath. The air near the door became humid and hot, giving the feeling that someone, or something, was breathing down your neck. The sound of thunder could be heard resonating from the other side, loud cracks closely following flashes of bright lights that lit up the faces of those who were near and looked towards the door. The patter of heavy rain hitting thick fronds as some life made noises that echoed into the night. Upon entering it was finally revealed to be a tropical rain forest. Trees, plants, and lush greenery, all taller than the players. Fronds as big as some, helping to provide some cover from the deluge. In the distance, between the flashes of lightning, one could see small lights that flickered in the rain. A town occasionally lit up but the crack of lightning that flicked across the sky. A few more steps revealed a white sand beach just between the players and civilization. Exploration can begin tomorrow, but civilization should be sought after for now
