River

River watched as the spirits of the Baby Blues began to seep into the soil and taint the living tree nearby. As its limbs began to form, and the darkness emanating from it was evident, he could see his skill kicking in once more. It was much like how it had happened back when he first started, only glimpses of information and a lot of question Mark's riddling its abilities or even some stats from its stat block. His chitter form gritted its teeth as the tail swung violently before almost tucking beneath his legs. The frills on his neck began to vibrate but hadnt fully extended yet. This was a moment of fight or flight, and he was very unsure of which should be done. For now he would fight, and hope that his team could decide swiftly once given the information. He ran within range of the Treant, judging the distance he would need to attack with his whip once he shifted back into his form. His frills extended and shook as he let out a Screech. Loud thrills escaping as his throat vibrated with the Chitters screaming, hoping to reduce the Treants attack slightly before slashing at it with his beastial auto attack.

As soon as that had been done River knew he needed to shift back to be able to speak, changing into his mage form and having his wand and whip out as he did before the change. "I-I don't have much to go off here. Vulnerable to fire, resistant to water, careful of his slam attack because itll knock you prone, and one AoE attack that I can see. The rest of the info, and theres a lot, is unidentifiable for my skill level. Oh and its Strength is nearly double ours so be careful." Careful, sure, he says that as hes within whip range of the thing. River held his left hand out, pointed towards the Treant as he chanted the spell for Lightning Shot. The same arcane energy coalescing from the elements to the tip of his wand as his hair began to lift on ends until the spell completed and shot out a bolt of electricity. Following quickly after River cracked his whip at the creature hoping to deal as much damage as he could at the moment.

He looked over his shoulder towards the right and called forth for Pepper to do her aerial attack. Her feathered wings fluttering as she flew above the Treant at her Max range and slew a cone of nauxious purple gas that rolled over it using her Caustic Bite As soon as she was done she retreated back towards the party keeping her distance from the shade possessed monster.

There was an uncomfortable itch building up in the back of Max's throat. Something daring him to cough, urging him. He didn't want to give Sunshine the satisfaction and held it in, swallowing the urge until Veil had shouted. A small cough, just enough to scratch his throat escaped as the Femme of Forcefields had decided she had had enough. Max didn't expect her to understand, after all its newbies versus her own team, people she knew and trusted so why should she weigh his opinion more? As she spoke about dislike and teamwork he began to wonder where this little speech was when her very own Mrs. Frost started acting coldly to Glimpse and him. He could tell she was trying, and with the amount of times shes had to be patched up she was surely running thin; but perhaps, in his mind, she should take a breath and a day off and let another person run the show while she recuperates. Her haggard state wasn't going to help anyone, and it certainly was clouding her bias it seemed. But that was all conjecture, who was he to say what she was or wasn't. He hardly acknowledged what she said, making way for the elevator and sticking close to Leighton as he avoided speaking or making contact with the others.

On the way down he could feel Leighton bump him and offer him a smile, one he was more than happy to return. The itch still lingering in his throat as he let out another small cough, holding his fist in front of his mouth to stifle the sound. The oddities scattered about the room gave him the creeps as he nodded to Callies comment in agreeance. Veil seemed to be in her own mind, lost in thought and before Max noticed Callie was gone. What had pulled her away so quickly? He took a few more steps forward and heard the sound of what was unmistakably a Fashion Runway show. He halted for a moment, his head turned towards the hall where the noise came from before the sight of Leighton leaving caught his peripheral. Splitting up was never a good idea, so naturally Max turned and followed after her. Before he could make it in the room however, the door slammed shut and it appeared to be locked. He pressed his ear against the door and heard no sound. Max began to pound on the door hoping for a response before he rushed back to the group in front of Veil. "Leightons cough locked behind a cough door. I cant get her cough out." Sunshine may of meant little harm with her coughing fit, but with his speech now impaired he could hardly speak the words to use his powers, and now Leighton was left alone, as well as Jack and Callie.

Jinx gave a cheery wave goodbye to all the mutants he had just set free, noticing another bakers dozen locked up in much the same manner as before. (Its one very hungry bakers dozen) This just wouldnt do, and he bit his lower lip in thought as he made his way through the train car. Another loud pop as he blew his bubbles, stepping lightly over bodies and searching for the officers guns who were now laying dead on the floor. "They don't need these anymore, so I'll just...yoink. Much better, it's more believable if the weapons are missing otherwise theyd wonder why they all shot themselves. Sloppy work really." Jinx looked about the car and spotted the cameras that seemed to of been disabled already, at least they weren't that sloppy. Jinx slid the weapons in his pockets and ensured each had the safety put on beforehand. It was a bit of a shame, the way these humans died, he knelt down and tried to push the corners of their mouths up to form a smile but the body was still to elastic to keep it held.

Noting that Anastasia was making progress with the lovely Valentine, Jinx circled the cabinet once over as he could feel their time growing thinner. Well this was the train car with the guards sooo. Just as before there was a cacophony of clicks as each restrain collar shut off and freed the fifteen mutants that were left in this cart. "Go on. Be free, we mutants have to watch out for our own kind. Now go off before the pigs arrive you hear?" As soon as he was done with the mutants Jinx made his way over towards the cage and leaned against it, looking at Anastasia with a smile as he popped another bubble. We make a good team you and I. You, Me, and Wanda coulda been an unstoppable force I'm sure, but whatever these bozos are planning I'm sure is worth the while too. Valentine, hi it's a pleasure to meet you. My names Jinx and a huge fan." Was he truly? Who knows, but Ana said he should play well with others and so far she didnt seem half bad so why not take the advice.

As Demetri cried out into the forest demanding an audience, all he heard back was silence. Given the lack of creatures he had found he was certain that if any did remain they were now frightened off. This left him in an eerie silence, a void in which he only had himself and his thoughts to attack him. Before he noticed, his hands had made they're way up his black denim jacket and began to rub his forearms as cold began to settle into his bones. As he breathed he started to see tufts of white flowing out of his mouth, the cold air finally sinking in as his teeth chattered lightly. As Demetri looked around the woods he noticed a small rolling fog begin to coat the dirt floor, hiding his converse beneath when suddenly a dulcet voice spoke up from inches behind him. His shoulders jumped slightly as hairs stood on his neck and he feared to turn around. Sure he was calling forth for Hades, but did he really expect an answer?

Demetri turned around slowly, his black converse slowly shuffling in the dirt beneath him, hearing the slight snap of a damp twig as he finally faced the man behind him. He was surprised that he was answered, though it wasnt from Hades himself, it still was his Lieutenant and a figure of respect. Demetri bowed slightly, unable to fully hold it as he stood back up to help keep his body warmed. "My apologies for any interruption I may have incurred but...to be frank I didn't expect an answer to my call. As for what it is I want, I do not presume to demand anything of you nor the gods but I do wish that you may grant me some succor. Hades' daughter, Athanasia, has recently passed and I just wish to know if she is alright, o wish to know she is at peace and how she would prefer her rights be done. And if at all possible...if this act upon her life could be undone..."

Maddy watched as Colby began to get a little worked up. There was something about this boy, so charming, even when upset he just looked absolutely adorable. But as 'Tinker' spoke more and more he began to wonder of the possibilities that perhaps Fairy Tales are real. Most everything is grounded in a grain of truth and how it flourishes depends on who is cultivating it. Could it be that the lands, places, and characters of tales were or had been real at some point? That perhaps stories became legends, legends to myths, and myths to simple children's stories to be forgotten and detached from the realm of reality? Well it certainly seemed to border on the line of impossible; but just because one cannot imagine something is possible does not make it impossible. After all travel in space was thought to be the idea of a child now here we are with satellites, probes, and ships that can enter its expansive void. So was Colby and his meeting to be some form of destiny? Two stories bound to intertwine?

This thought process was halted for a moment as he noticed Colbys nose scrunch a little when he got heated. Did he k ow he did that? It reminded him of his cat back home. Scrunching his nose ar unfamiliar smells, or whenever Maddy would go to boop his nose. His attention was once again snapped back when Tinker mentioned their parents. Colby's was Chesire and his was the Hatter. Was this why they felt such a kinship? Could it be that it was because they shared a story? This question brought upon many more, some more troubling than the last. But one kept making it's way back, was their friendship a lie based upon the intertwining of stories? Or did it make theirs that much more true? Maddy gripped his pants as he tried to make the question go away and looked Tinker in the eyes. "I just have two more questions I think...assuming this is all real, what you're saying, Who else is out there like us? And why did our parents leave us?"

"Maybe your superhero name should be Plague, because that's all that you are to people! Havock no one needs your damn mouth to mouth right now, but if you really wanna press your lips against something I'm sure that your flexible enough to kiss your own ass! Now why dont you all just shut it!" Max snapped at the two who couldnt help but add noise to any situation. He'd said he didn't want to go with, yet here he was, he said he didn't want to risk using his powers too much, yet they asked what seemed the world to him, he stepped away from them as he looked up towards the ceiling. "If this building catches fire I'm blaming you." Max took a deep breath before he began to mutter a few words as the energy released from his hands in thin tendrils and made their way up towards the ceiling. They wrapped around and began to create fairy lights that hung off the top and helped illuminate their surroundings.

"Happy? And don't worry Callie, controlling powers is difficult as is when you domt have the emotional burden of others weighing down on you. Now I'm going to go check on Nightcrawler to make sure his allergies havent pushed him passed the brink of breathing." As the blonde haired mutant began to look around the newly lit area, he noticed that the blue mutant was no where to be found. He began walking a bit and stopped just short of turning furniture when he exclaimed. "Guys, Nightcrawlers gone. I honestly don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing at this point..." Max turned to Callie who had suggested watching over him while the others investigated and then he turned towards Veil, the leader of the group, with a look of 'what now?'

There was nothing more fulfilling than Anastasia, or any other mutant to be precise, telling Jimx that oje of his ideas was right. Sure he hadn't explained to her that he planned on freeing them all anyways, but hearing her demand it so, brought a bit of warmth to his heart. He popped a piece of bubble gum in his mouth and began to chew, eyeing up all of the mutants that sat within the cart looking stoned off their meds. A long drawn out bubble began to form as the sound of air filling it filled the chamber until there was a sudden pop. "You got it Queenie. I'll make sure all these lovely beings are set free to do as they wish." Jinx interlocked his fingers and bent the back, palms forward and you could hear every knuckle cracking. Another bubble soon followed before he finally stood at the edge of the cart, looking down the long hallway and onto all the mutants before him.

Jinx counted fifteen heads, that was fifteen mutant collar restraints he needed to make malfunction and fall so that his fellow brethren could be freed. In a quick burst you could hear the sounds of collars clicking off, down the line fifteen clicks forming a beautiful symphony to his ears, a symphony of freedom. "Easy as pie my queen. If you need my services again feel free to ask. I know the Three-in-dumb dont seem to comprehend the use of my abilities but it's clear that you do, and for that you have my powers at your disposal. Now let's see to finding our missing sibling so we can call this a mission success." Jinx skipped his way down towards where the triplets had stated the sister was, searching for her.

River grabbed his bit of loot before tossing the Babu Blue Powder towards Holly. "That makes three. Now I suppose we need these Java Roots huh?" He rolled his shoulders and cracked his neck, ready to try on his mew ability. Hopefully the Chitters had some use with their claws in burying underground or this would be a waste of time for him. River transformed down into a Chitter, using his spell to recall the image so that he didnt lose it after this use. His form changed and River immediately began to test out his new form. He ran about in circles, whipped his new tail, and shuttered his frill to get a feel for it all. This level of excitement was exactly what he had gotten this game for. He immediately ran towards the tree and began digging at its roots, tossing dirt and soil aside haphazardly in search for Cecilias items.

Demetri sat perched atop the marble area, looking down at the two demi-children until he felt a gust come from his side. He turned to face the strange wind and found that it was Leda, doing her families part in delivering bad news. He looked on with sorrow weighing deep in him as he saw Arty move away from Andy and towards Leda, explaining how they already knew why she was there. His heartache must of been too much too bare, he was a bright kid, well poised and yet here he was, ghibli tears streaming down his cheeks as his hand began to quiver and raise. Demetri watched as Ashs body was risen from the ground and his clawed feet scraped against the marbling as he cawed and slid off the top flying downwards in shock. The cawing continued as his small raven form moved away from the display, slowing losing control of his form and shifting back into himself, not bothering to hide his electric blue eyes. The cawing turned to gagging as he tried all he could not to spew up what little food he had eaten before the battle.

As he gathered himself, he thought about what had transpired and came up with a hail Mary. Making his way towards the forest, Demetri stepped through and began to search for any animals he could find, twelve at the least but he would use more if needed. All he found was a single mouse, sitting there cleaning its whiskers as it chattered and squeaked towards him in a mocking manner. Demetri punched a tree next to him as he let out a primordial scream in anguish. Yelling out in hopes that Hades was listening. "Was the empousas not enough?! Must I truly search for a dozen or more creatures to satiate your taste and bring an audience to me?! Here me Hades for I use those empousas as a Hecatomb and wish to speak to you! ...Please...bring back Ash or at least...at least tell me shes alright..."

Salem rubbed his wrist from where he was being held, watching the guards trembling hand and how it is he was finally reacting to the gravity of the situation. This man was a fool, and he was more of a mall security than any appointed official by the queen. He sighed softly trying not to be too loud with his exasperation at the bumbling child. "My stories not too far off from his." He said as he pointed towards Max. "I had just got done with a spot of dancing and had decided to step outside of the ballroom for a bit of fresh air. I spotted the glow of her Rune before it faded, taking a picture of the mark so that I may show the appropriate authority's. I overheard Max here telling his partner about what he had found and I decided to help with their investigation in any way I can. That's when I covered up the body to keep others from viewing it and potentially starting a mass panic as well as alerting the murderer that they've been found out. An idea we had all agreed upon." Salem gave the guard a look, never pulling out his phone to show the Rune. He was hoping that even though his incompetence may have alerted the killer, perhaps it would bring more suitable minds for this investigation and they would be the ones to view his findings. "I suppose I can drop the grass now if youd like."

Maddy felt the warmth of Colbys hand on his shoulder, a comforting feeling after the events of today. His reaction to it was however slow, not feeling it till after it was pulled away, too enraptured in his own thoughts as he was speaking. This was the very definition of you don't know what you have till it's gone. As Colby spoke, Matthew looked at him with great intrigue, getting to learn more about the mysterious magician who at times seemed quite aloof. He reached up, feeling the area where Colbys hand was previously placed, looking down at the ground as his legs swung slightly and he thought about what this all meant, why this woman seemed content with playing games with two orphans.

As Maddy looked up slowly, the mystery woman began to speak. She said her name was Tinker, no; she said they could call her Tinker. Why was everyone being so secretive? What was wrong with giving a straight answer from time to time. She rattled on about fairytales, their existence, and Disneys inaccuracy towards them. Maddy couldn't help but chuckle at the comment. "Everyone knows they're inaccurate. They couldn't exactly come forward and make movies based off of Grimms or their audience would be far too small." His comment however was cut off as he watched wings sprout from her back and then quickly vanish as if they were never there. Further explanation revealed Merlin was the source of the letters and Maddys mind began to race as to which version, the old man from Disney? The cute teen from Merlin, or perhaps some incarnation that hasnt been done yet, either way the real Merlin may soon be revealed to them. " I wanna meet him. If he knows more I want to meet him."

Max watched as the demonic looking mutant began to break out in hives as a sneezing fit followed soon after. The lighting had done little to help Max identify who they were going up against but as Veil mentioned his name he soon made the connections. The fast paced movements, swashbuckling action with his tail and impressive combat, ofcourse it was a former member of the X-Men and Nightcrawler. He felt bad having to beat him up, it clearly wasnt by choice that he was here, nor that he was in this predicament. "I really hope he hasn't come to, I can only imagine the trouble we'd be in if he did." Mutants had a bad name at the moment and an even worse one thanks to Max's latest mess up. He watched as sparks began to fly and then crackle around Callies hands as she told them that was the most she could muster at the moment. His heart dropped as she asked for Max to conjure some lanterns or lamps or something more practical.

His hands began to tremble a bit, thoughts raving through his mind like harsh whispers scraping inside his skull. Each one telling him he would mess up, he would light the building on fire and push the purifiers closer to their goal. Then, like a light at the end of a tunnel, Jack pulled out his phone using the flashlight function. Max didnt have a cellphone but he hoped the others did. "That could be a good solution, use your phones to light the way. Honestly I wish I could be more help but...I'd rather not risk this mess up. Not after my last..." He began to rub his arm meekly as he looked down at the floor. "Shame James isn't here, I'm sure he could fix these lights no issue."

As Jinx leaned against a wall, watching the blonde mutant work her powers to get them the result needed, a new voice seemed to spring out from within the cage. His eyes opened up wider, slowly, as his jaw inched closer to dropping. His expression was not unlike Dr.Grants first time viewing a live dinosaur in Jurassic Park. It was amazing really, her powers and what she could do, but also his powers and how ingeniously they were locked away. They say all the best people were mad, and Legion seemed to fit the bill. Legion's Ksenia personality smirked slightly, able to tell an opportunity when it was staring at her in the face. "Of course, dahrlings." It was interesting, seeing a person with so many people inside their head, how did he manage it all? He stepped closer to the cage and smiled at the both of them. "I do love working with you blondie, you, me, and Req, well...we could rule the world." His eyes glanced over towards the lock on the cage and it suddenly clicked open as Jinx lightly tapped the door. "Its all open for you now."

He made his way away from the cage and ontop of an empty seat. Looking overtop of the large group of mutants restricted with collars just sitting there quietly, he decided to do a bit of grandstanding. "My fellow mutants! All of you have been entrapped here and forced to suppress your superior genetic power by the whim of cowards and the frail! We should be the reigning race and yet here you are, what do you say to me setting you free?! But only if you agree not to harm any of us and go about your ways as free mutants!" Non one, not one single mutant seemed roused, stirred, or otherwise paying attention to him. It was then he realized they were all drugged, lethargic, and in far worse states than he had previously thought. The Three-in-one spoke into their minds and told them where to find the other. "I do wish theyd stay out of my head. I'm sure we could've found her ourself. Anyways we should at least release our brethren before we make our leave, set them back on the streets or in our graces. They don't belong like this..." Jinx started to make his way for the car containing Legions sister.
