Apollo Harrington

Location: Cabin 3
Magic: Silencio failed into Sonarus

Apollo felt himself be shunted out of Mary's mind as she told him he was dealing with it. Right, personal space. Sometimes it was hard to forget that when things began to run wild. It had always been easier for him to speak into minds than to speak his mind. There was a small sigh as he sat there hearing the mounting voices go to a fro including Faes words towards the Trolley Witch. He pinched the bridge of his nose, taking it all in and wondering if they truly could take points away for exploits on the train or if this was merely to be punished with chores and detention in the dungeons. Finally he released the bridge of his nose and patted around his person in search for his divination coin. One side held an open eye and was marked yes, the other a floating feather marked no. He began to think to himself, whispering into the coin his question on if he should get involved or stay put. If it landed on yes then he would get out of his compartment and finally take part in the mischief.

Apollo flipped the coin into the air and it floated for what felt like an eternity. It finally landed down onto his hand with the eye staring right back at him and another long and harsh sigh escapes his mouth. He really didn't want to get involved but if the fates deemed it so he would. He stood from his seat looking at Scamander and telling him to stay put. As he turned out of his cabin, away from the rest, his wand quickly flicked as he muttered a spell trying to silence Fae but accidentally causing her voice to boom louder when next she spoke. Apollo walked down the halls in search for the other prefects. They as he might there were none to be found and so he turned back to old habits. His mind bounced from person to person but quickly fizzled out before any prefects were found. Either it was his lack of conviction or his agitation towards all this that caused it to fail. Apollo turned back, went into his cabin as he simply sat and began to eat one of his packed Lemon Sherberts.

Salems grin grew as Lilie spoke, nodding in agreement to what it was she was saying. They had both worked so hard to get where they are now, and neither could afford to let a little bit of nerves get to them. As the announcement rang once more it appeared it was time for the examination to start. Any worry or concern he had melted away, all boiling down to resolve and determination to succeed in this challenge. "I'll see you at the finish line Lilie. Best of luck to you." Salem made his way towards his name where Lilie pointed earlier, noting that Aaron stood between the pair. Ofcourse he did, at the very least they would all be teleported into random spots throughout the forest but...was comradery allowed? The point was to test how well they could use the spell as well as their vampires trust within their partners but, if he were to run into Lilie or Max, could they work together to conserve on magic and make their way to the end together?

There was a delightful amount of confirmation in Lilies face. Telling him he had done the right thing, that even if for this moment, it seemed to help melt her feelings away and bring her back to that excitable state she was in when they first met. He smiled as he took a sip from his own drink, the warmth filling his chest. "Its really nothing. I mean, it's the least I can do for you." There was a playful little nudge and then another sip as he thought on the words she was saying. She was right, it felt like it was a lifetime ago that they had their first proper hang out. So much has changed since then and he was certain that even more would change as time passed by at the academy. "It feels so distant, the last time we were able to do this, I think you're right, it is a bit funny to think about now that you're mentioning it. So much has changed since then, including ourselves." Salem placed his hand atop Lilies head and ruffled it slightly "You've progressed so much in such a short time both with your magic and the training with Victor that it's amazing."

He had purposefully avoided the subject of Aaron. Still a bit sore about what had transpired on their final day at the castle, he elected to push past it and not allow it to spoil this moment with a friend. Salems hand hand moved from her head to thr back of his head, nervously scratching at it as he thought about her question. "To be quite honest I'm a bit nervous. Sure we have six hours to complete the task but I dont think I could keep the spell up for that long. It seems we need to control how much magic we use, when we use it, while also trying to make some headway in the dark. All of this while we babysit an escort." his eyes glanced over at Aaron, a light mage with a clear advantage in this type of setting. "What about you? How do you think your magic will do?"

Before the practical, Salem took some time for meditation. Thinking of the best way to go about completing the exam without the need for cheating. He was quite literally in his element, surrounded by nature and with the ability to bend it to his whim to a certain extent. He could climb a tree and use his magic to foster its grow and break the tree line, both locating his destination and having his magic extend a branch towards it. Or perhaps he could make a trail of flowers or vines to help distinguish where he has already been so as to not double back and get lost. There were a few applications to this but the major issue was magical stamina and using the Dark Eyes spell. There was a nervous sigh as he decided that he had to rely on his training as well as the knowledge provided by Victor and his teachers. He got up and began brewing the same tea he had once offered to Lilie, one that was said to enhanced magical prowess, even though it didn't. He placed the drinks into two thermos's as he got ready to leave for the exam.

The weather outside was cold and biting, having Salem wear a sky blue button up shirt, forest green coat, brown beanie, teal blue scarf, brown pants, and knee high boots. His outfit was meant to be practical, just warm enough to help him through the exam, but light enough to not exhaust him from wearing it for prolonged periods of time. He grabbed his small leather satchel and made his way to the bus. The ride was fairly calm, Victor cramming in any final notes he could to help them both succeed. His mind, unfortunately, was elsewhere. Cassandra had been in intensive care, Aaron and him had once again strained their relationship after spending weeks building it back up, and Lilie seemed to need someone now more than ever. He hadn't mentioned the dream to her yet, not because he didn't want to, nor was it for Aaron's sake, but because she had so much on her plate already she didn't need anymore. Salem's finger ran over the lid of the thermos as he thought, hoping this small act of kindness could help put her back on the road to happiness once more.

The bus had stopped and everyone filed out, Varis seemingly in a huff as he made a straight line for Ryner. It was nice seeing him distraught, knowing the man who's family was bringing Salems so much discomfort was now having to feel the same. If but time magic were attainable he would capture this moment and have it loop for all eternity, ensuring Varis could feel the passage of time as he was caught in an endless loop of being bound by a mages trust. His eyes began to dart across the field, watching as Victor made an embarrassing display but he couldnt help but think "that's my partner". It wouldn't be Victor if everything went smoothly and without a hitch. There were the announcements and plenty of mages made their way to the tables, Salem following suit and catching a glimpse of Lilie before she vanished into the crowd again. With a huff Salem had decided to press on through, finally reaching her as he grabbed a few items off the table himself.

"I brought you something. Thought a little hot tea would help warm you in this chilly weather." He offered the thermos to her as continued forward, moving them away from the table as he placed his now free hand on the top of her back. "It's the same tea I gave to you the first night you came over to my place. Figured it was only fitting now that we're actually here at the practical of all places."

She was right, and he hated that. He needed more focus, more training, and that was exactly what he was aiming to get out of this whole ordeal. He wanted to hear their sides of the story, especially Polaris' seeing as how she was also a former member of the Underground. There was hardly anytime to think in the split moments before Ana's impaling, but then again theres hardly ever time to think in the real world so he may as well gets used to it. No sooner did Magneto announce their teams than did Ana turn coat and infest Max's mind with a primordial fear that seeped deep into his bones. There was no target, no known tangible source to lash back at for this fear was more set off like paranoia. A deep rooted idea that his life was coming to an end.

Max's legs moved faster than his mind, running in a random direction until he hit a wall and was cornered by nothing more than his fear and psyche. Ofcourse Ana didn't know his skillset. And how could she? He barely knew his skillset. This was fight or flight, and there was no where left to run. Like a cornered beast his eyes began to glow bright and ominous, as he began to chant shakily, words he never knew he knew. A deep seeded spell that was being cast from pure emotion and meant for the sole purpose of keeping him from whatever harm may come his way. The familiar hues of purples, blues, pinks, and black began to swirl and overtake the area he was in. Climbing high onto the ceiling and unleashing a scent throughout the room that smelled of blueberries. Max sat atop a colossal bedtime bear care bear, gripping the curled fur tightly as he sat on its shoulder. This bear would be the perfect defense for him until he could get back into a right mental state. It had no mind, no metal, and was far too large today freeze. The carebear let out a dreadful
Carebear stare that glared at the other four in the room.

Jinx hurried himself inside the submarine, glad for the Three in Ones quick work on closing the door and getting everything set up for them. With the exception of their barking orders, there was a bit of an awkward silence between Wanda and Peter. He wanted to compliment her on her fighting style and use of powers, wanted to make some witty remark between friendship, flattery and flirting about how he misses having her as a teacher and that her absence has made his skills wane. He wanted her to realise just how sorry he was for the comment he made back on the raft but...he knew that you couldnt tell someone how they felt. He may not of meant for that to be his intention, but that doesnt mean it isnt what happened. He made sure to step aside from where she was and walked down the halls of their new vessel.

Their very small...thin...halls. clearly PJ had not thought this through during that split second of decision he forgot to account for his fear of inclosed small spaces. Suuure elevators were fine, they were quick and opened up and hed step out immediately as the doors opened but this. This was a tin can in the bottom of the ocean surrounded by immense pressure that could collapse and kill them all. Or perhaps they would run out of air and suffocate without ever having been found. Or maybe- no he needed to keep his mind busy away from such thoughts. Jinx began to pace the halls back and forth back and forth until deciding to rummage through the kitchen or any storage facility they may have had in order to find something to eat. There were several sandwiches there and he began to stress eat each and every one. Chewing faster and faster as his leg bounced on the seat wondering how much time had passed and how much longer till they made it up to the surface.

Demetri shook his head, figuring that Chiron and the others would make the right decision and tell the campers ahead of time. If for some reason they didn't, he would warn them about it later on the road saying he'd overheard it on his morning flight or something to that sense. That now out of his mind, Demetri began to pack his bag. Taking some spare clothes for any weather that they may encounter ahead as well as a few other bits and ends. Slinging it over his shoulder he began to make his way out of the cabin and it dawned on him that Kristin was out by him as he hurriedly made his way back. Hopefully she hadnt seen him, but to be safe he would need to speak with her and ask her to keep her mouth shut for once in her life.

He kept his eyes peeled as he made his trek to the Dining Pavilion, keeping an eye out for Kristin so that he could pull her aside to have a private talk. He unfortunately didn't find her, but he did see a massive ship hovering above his destination and he couldn't help but let out a long whistle. Stepping in slowly he made his way towards his sister and ruffled her hair, still staring up at the ceiling in amazement as he wondered where that mass came from. "Hey squirt. So uh...what's with Jonahs Ark above us? Are we having guests or..." his cadence was slow and bewildered as he just looked up not speaking to any one person in particular.

Matthew blushed a bright red hearing Laylas words. He immediately looked down as he walked behind Colby, making sure he hadnt actually wet himself in fear and not noticed. All clear. He sat on the outside of the table and listened in to Tinks half of the conversation, it appeared theyd gotten to the fairly tale half of this topic and that either this other girl was way more accepting that she appeared, or she made some snarky remark about who did what. Colby offered up his letter as proof and Matthew rummaged for his to do the same giving his to Cassiopa. He then turned his attention to the waitress who was waiting to place their orders "May I have some sweet and sour chicken, orange chicken, fried rice and xiao long Bao please?" He felt bad having Tinker pay for their meals, but not bad enough not to order a good amount of food.

Matthew wasn't quite sure as to what to say to them now that the waitress was present. It would sound insane to carry this topic in front of her and he sat there attempting to work a way around it, wording it so that theyd understand and others would be left in the dark or at the very least some way to normalize this all. "So about the premise, it appears that Maleficent in her search for power has conquered the realm. There are a handful of descendants who were sent away for protection but it appears now they must rise up to help defend the realm and save those who cast them out. I was thinking that perhaps you two could play the part of Robin Hoods children, sibling badasses who take down foes with wit and arrows combined."

Apollo took his glasses off and began to clean them wiping the left lenses first as Georgina asked him what it was that the twins wished to do when they graduated. In truth this was something that he had given some thought, but was still unsure about. He wanted to be a Curse Breaker, though whether he would do that legally under the guise of the ministry or if he would do so by himself was still up for debate. It wasn't so much that he didn't trust the ministry, so much that he didn't believe they owned the rights heard magical artifacts when they could scarcely stop two wizarding wars and now they've managed to let even the underlings slip through their hands. Who was to say that they hadnt lost important and power artifacts already? Sure Apollo knew the Deathly Hallows, from the children's story he'd picked up for pleasure reading, were a complete farce but if that Elder Wand did exist he was certain the ministry had mistaken for a stick and tossed it away.

"Well...I had been thinking I might want to be-" He hadn't noticed as he was in the process of placing his glasses back on but Mary had just walked right passed their cabin. Georginas statement however alerted him to the fact while cutting off his sentence short. No malintent, he wouldve done the same had he seen Mary acting strangely. She opened their compartment and one by one people began to speak up about whatever commotion that no doubt Merula was stirring up. Apollo slid his wand out halfway, ready to strike her down when he recalled that his bestfriend was currently in her first year of prefect, as was his twin brother. He wouldn't want to make the start harder on them by losing house points so early on due to a low life like Merula. Apollo sat back into his seat and closed his eyes, drowning out all the other minds save three. He spoke to Mary, Georgina, and Artie through the chaos of it all. "Leave that shirty Slytherin be, she isnt worth your time or emotions. I'm sure the other prefects can handle it and strip them of house points."

Max smiled and nodded warmly towards Leighton, thanking her for her kind words about his outfit. There appeared to be some tension between Magneto and Emma Frost. Something that Max couldn't tell if it was good or bad. On one hand it meant that they may not see eye to eye and that perhaps she truly didnt tolerate scum like Magneto. On the other hand it meant that the leadership was shaky at best and could get in the way of their so called mutant homeland. Before Leighton could be answered, Magneto began his assault. This time it seemed to be targeting only Max. Leightons quick thinking and work created a wall of ice that block most of the incoming attack, giving Max the time needed to refocus and get his head back into the game. "I'll see what I can do for your blondie, maybe I'll pull you out of the hat instead."

Max braced himself, legs apart as he watched the metallic rods approach him. He tried to create a top hat so that the telekinetic witch would eat her words but it appeared his powers were not on his side. Panicking he decided to create a barrier around him, to help keep himself from getting struck while not allowing Magneto to manipulate whatever it is that he was conjuring. There was a slight glow and then nothing once more. Damn it, gotta think fast. If he dodges Magneto will just redirect them to attack him still, no he need to redirect them himself. He would try the hat trick once more. A black top hat appeared between the mutants hands and Max quickly turned it and began to suck the rods in one by one, warping them towards Ana as a fair warning to watch her tongue. There was the sound of three rods impaling the hard ground and then another that sounded like it met some other material, and Max dared not turn around incase he impaled another person and taken their life.

He wasn't sure if Esme was still poking around in his head, but never the less he offered her a thank you within his mind. She didn't have to tell him that, he already knew what Wanda was going through and that the vitriol she was spewing g wasnt exactly what she truly meant. Wanda was prone to these emotional breakouts and perhaps now was the best time to have one given the number she just did on the guards. But despite all of that Esme took the time to be reassuring and helpful towards Jinx and for that he greatly appreciated her. Maybe they weren't all that bad, or at least she wasnt. "Given that it'll probably take longer to lift this based up than it will to pilot a submarine, I saw we take the sub."

Jinx glared daggers at the guards that began rushing in and cracked his neck from left to right. "why don't we all relax a little ok? There's no need to have you guys shoot at us, just calm down and this will all be over." As soon as he caught eyes with the guards he began to work his magic, Jinxing 12 of the 20 weapons that were being carried and hoping the other eight wouldnt be a huge issue. "Minor hiccup here, Wanda mind taking out those 8 over there? They seem like they're gonna be a problem." Jinx crouched down and crossed his arms across his chest, building up his Psionic energy in each hand as he was about to release a wave to trip the soldiers. As soon as his hands crossed each other the energy fizzled and died away causing nothing more than a light show. "Well fuck."
