@HushedWhispers I mean, while I do understand where this is coming from, I wasn't really consulted about it except for that one time I asked. So you can say I'm kind of angry about that.

“I still don’t understand why I couldn’t just stay back home with Abuela.”

Fiorella Aguilar let out an angry sigh. The girl sat in the passenger seat of her mother’s Black Mercedes, talking to the older woman as she drove her to school. Now, even after having moved to Texas for a week now, Lela was still trying to plead her case: to get her parents to send her back to Puerto Rico with her grandmother.

“Lela, we’ve already discussed this.” Marina Aguilar said to her daughter, letting out a disgruntled sigh of her own. “Abuela’s too old to take care of you.”

“Seventy is not old, ma’.” Lela argued, crossing her arms across her chest. “Plus, I can take care of myself. She wouldn’t be really be taking care of me.”

Marina sighed again. “Fiorella, ya. What’s done is done. You’re here in Texas, you’re going to Delbrook Academy and you’re staying with us, That’s the way it is.“

Lucky for Fiorella, they had arrived at the front of the school just as her mother said those last words. The golden-haired girl, though still angry, gave her mother a goodbye kiss on the cheek before grabbing her bookbag and stepping out of the car. Lela stood for a moment in the sidewalk, watching her mother’s car disappear, before turning to look at what would be her new school for the next three years. Her brown eyes widened at the sight of the titanic building in front of her. Delbrook Academy was huge. How was she supposed to make it to class without getting lost?

The only way to find out was to try.

Lela managed to arrive to her assigned homeroom classroom just in time., after just three times of getting lost Her fellow classmates were all standing up in the corner of the room, and the teacher held a paper in her hands. Fiorella assumed that meant they would be assigned seats, so she quickly took a spot in between the rest of the group and waited until her name was called.

"Next, Zurancic and Aguilar."

With a flirtatious smirk and an aura of confidence, Fiorella swayed her hips all the way to her seat, her magenta skirt dancing at her every step. Once there, she plopped her black Michael Kors bookbag on the floor, gracefully took her seat and took a moment to scan her surroundings. She couldn’t help when her flirtatious smirk turned into her softly biting her lower lip at the sight of her neighbor classmate. Just in next to her sat a tall, blond guy with broad shoulders, sharp jaw, and incredibly handsome face. If her memory didn’t fail her, she thought she’d heard the teacher say his name was Bruno. ‘Well, Bruno, you are a 10 out of ten in my book.’ Fiorella thought devilishly, taking the liberty to shamelessly stare at him for a few more seconds before shifting her eyes to the male sitting in front of her. From what she’d seen as she walked to her seat, this guy was handsome as well. But for some reason, he struck her as somewhat of a fuckboy-type of guy. Maybe it was the outfit, or the devil-may-care attitude he presented. Whatever it was, he was marked as a NO in her list of possible prospects.

‘Hey, not a bad start. Got the back seat so I can text in peace. Gracias a Dios.’

Once all the class was seated, the teacher said a few words before giving them some free time to do what they pleased as long as they stayed in the classroom. Fiorella watched in silence as the rest of her group talked among themselves, and a sudden pang of sadness hit her. She felt so alienated when compared to the rest of her group… If she were back home, she would be chattering away with her besties: making the plans for the weekend, discussing the latest school gossip, asking to borrow clothes and accessories... Back in Puerto Rico, she was basically the Queen Bee of Baldwin School, and everybody knew who Fiorella Aguilar was. But here? She was a nobody. Just some new Puerto Rican girl who probably didn’t know the least bit of English and needed a green card to enter the country.

That had to change. Fast

Having caught Bruno giving her a look, Fiorella seized her opportunity to start conquering some hearts. "Um, excuse me," she began saying, a hint of accent in her sing-song voice, tapping his broad shoulder lightly. "I'm, like, totally new to the country and the US school system. Would you mind giving me a small explanation about how it works?"

Location: Andrews Gym ---> Denny’s
Time: ~9:30 AM
Interacting With: Troy @Universorum; Eve @lovely complex & Alyssa via WhatsApp

Audrey Huntsberg woke up to a single ray of bright light shining directly in her face. The brightness in sleepy eyes bothered her, so she covered them with a lazy arm. Behind her, acting as the big spoon was Troy, still fast and deep asleep as confirmed by his deep snoring. How both of them managed to sleep comfortably in a couch this small was a mystery to her. But judging from how her back wasn’t sore and she felt all warm and fuzzy, Audrey considered her night with Troy as one of the best sleeps she’d had in a while.

Audrey slowly turned around to be face to face with Troy. He had his arm around her, but he was so far gone intro Dream Land that her actions didn’t wake him. A smile rose to her face as she watched him: the locks of brown hair on his forehead, the feathery eyelashes, the thin lips that felt like fire upon her skin, the light stubble on his jaw… Before she realized what she was doing, her fingers were brushing the hair off his forehead and gently caressing his cheek.

It took this night to realize that the way he made her feel was not just the alcohol in her system that night they’d first met. The truth was, Audrey really liked Troy. Her sixth sense told her that maybe, with some time, something truly beautiful could blossom between them. However, her smile faltered as she remembered the way he’d treated her last night. It was more than obvious that Troy didn’t feel the same way about her. His indifferent manner had really stung her, the only reason he had let her stay the night was because he didn’t want to feel responsible if she got hurt, and he had probably only slept with her because he was drunk and she insisted.

Though she might like him, she was unwilling to chase after a man who clearly didn’t want her. Audrey had swallowed her pride last night and it had been for nothing. She would not swallow her pride again.

It was definitely time to leave.

Being as quiet and careful as she could, Audrey stood up, being careful to avoid stepping on hers and Troy’s clothes, which lied in a heap next to the couch. No sooner had she straightened up than an overwhelming wave of dizziness and nausea hit her. Clutching the desk with one hand, she covered her mouth to avoid her gag reflex from triggering and covering Troy’s office floor with vomit.

“What the hell is going on with me?” Audrey thought as she waited for the dizziness and nausea to pass. She racked her brain for a few seconds, trying to pinpoint the reason she was feeling so shitty. Yes, she’d been having the bouts of nausea in the mornings for less than a week now, but they were never this intense. It didn’t take long for her to find the cause, and her chocolate brown eyes quickly darted in that direction. On top of the desk were a few beer bottles, but one in particular stood out to her: the half-empty one sitting right in the middle of the bunch. The ray of sunshine that had been on her face earlier was now on the bottles, giving Audrey a look at the shadow of the alcoholic liquid inside.

The gag reflex was instantaneous, and the young woman barely had time to make it into the bathroom before she vomited violently into the toilet bowl. Once she had started, the puking didn’t stop until there was nothing else left for her body to expel, and every time she retched Audrey cursed herself mentally for every gulp of beer she’d taken. Why on Earth did she even accept the beer, knowing fully well that as of late her body was not tolerating any alcohol? That had a simple enough answer: she’d forgotten. And why had she forgotten? Yet another easy answer: Troy. Whenever Audrey was with Troy, she became careless. Being careless had its consequences… Here they were.

The young woman sat with her head inside the toilet bowl for what seemed like forever, taking deep breaths, and did not come up until she was certain the nausea had stopped. When it did, she slowly stood up, using the walls as support. Now that her stomach had been more than emptied, with the dizziness came along feeling lightheaded. Again, Audrey had to take a moment to compose herself before she went straight to the showers. The cold water did wonders for her, making her feel much better. Now that her sickness was tamed (at least for a little while), the next step would be to get some nourishment to calm the loud growling in her stomach.

As quietly as she had left the room, Audrey walked back into the office, where Troy was still fast asleep. She quickly dressed herself, gathered her belongings and shot a quick text to her best friends: the only people that could make her feel better after this mess.

To: Lyssy, Evie
Can you girls meet me at the Denny’s on Fifth? I’m sick and hungry and I need emotional support. :(
Audrey

It didn’t take long for Eve to reply to her text, and with confirmation from her friends Audrey called up an Uber and was on her way. She decided against waking Troy: he’d said that they would be back to their regular lives once the night was over, so Audrey would do just that.

Audrey arrived at her desired location in fifteen minutes. She knew Alyssa wouldn’t be pleased with her choice of venue, but Audrey’s body was begging her for a Cinnamon Pancake Breakfast, paired up with the biggest glass of cold milk the restaurant had. Thankfully, the place wasn’t very full, and Audrey didn’t have to wait long to be seated and have her order taken.By the time her best friends had arrived, Audrey was halfway done with her meal.

“Hi.” she greeted them enthusiastically with a mouthful of food. After swallowing it and taking a long sip of her milk, she continued. “Sorry I didn’t wait until you guys got here to order. I was, like, suuuuuuper hungry. But don’t worry, because I think that judging from how this-” she pointed to her half-eaten meal the fork in her hand. “Isn’t exactly filling up my stomach, I think I’ll, like, order something else.”
I'm in GMT/UTC - 4h Standard Time, and my post availability depends greatly on my college work load of the week. What I do know for a fact is that I won't be able to post daily.
That's a great idea. Did the same with mine.
If anyone would like to discuss future relations with Fiorella feel free to PM me!
