The warden had been working his morning rounds for just a short while, starting first in the underground before moving into the upper regions. The sunlight beamed through the barred windows of the prison as the warden made ground level, making pockets of warmth that the warden only got to truly experience this time of day. He took a deep breath. The musky air smelling of feces and mold. The man was closer to the second level stairs now and working his way up. Soon he would get just a hint of salt water and sage that he man burned in the upper regions of the prison for the nobles and special cases, such as the Pirate King. For some reason the Prince decided was worth more then a scummy cell that lay in levels under him. Keys jingled at the man's hip as he would peak into each cell, clean out the corners and feed the inmates according to Prince Callum's orders. He didn't take much pride in his job, but Junia was known for their prison thanks to Prince Callum, and the warden, Joseph, wanted nothing more than to please his Prince. Upon reaching the stairs he heard what he had assumed were rats shuffling a crossed the stone floor, and sure enough when he reached the area he had heard to steps, there was nothing. "Stupid rats." Joseph said to himself before turning and knocking on the Pirates door. " Food?!"

Meanwhile the morning guards were arriving to their posts. The light foot falls of the guards could barely be heard through the halls and courtyard. One guard with rusty red curls poking out from under his helmet turned into the garden and took a large stretch, extending his arms out into the air. "Hey! what are you doing?" The guard that had been standing watch before the redhead laughed and replied.

"Staring at a bunch of flowers all night, quiet as a death out here last night." The two men both laughed before the night guard waved at the redhead and left back into the castle to find his bed.

The redhead chuckled lightly before letting out a small yawn and looking out over the courtyard. The guard then saw something, not sure if it was a trick of the eye, but the guard went to investigate just in case. There was a shadow moving along the ground from behind trees and statues. The redhead slowly walked towards to figure "Who's there?! The guard called out. Of course as soon as he starts his shift something has to happen.

Theo turned in his bed. A coolness rushed to his chest that the sleeping man loved. It felt like home with the smell of the ocean, and as he dreamed of Balu and his crew, and pillaging a new land. Taking what he wanted, and celebrating his riches with the closest thing he ever had to a family. Then a metallic ringing sounded throughout his head. Balu and his friends melted away and Theo shot awake. The realization of his prison and his inevitable death hit him like a brick to the chest. "What ever you have this morning." He called out to the warden who slide a gross oatmeal through the food slot and moved on.

Theo looked down at the blanket, now sitting in his lap and remembered that Callum had been there last night. What time did he leave? The thought played through his mind as he rose to grab the barely edible food off the ground and took a lazy spoonful.
Bump ❤️
Callum weighted a tad more then what Theo could have guessed before the boy collapsed into his arms. The pirate's arms stayed strong while holding up Callum's small frame, and he let the boy cry into his chest without a word. The small amount of chest hair that Theo had stuck to his chest and other tears ran down to Theo's pants line. The wetness had made Theo's chest itch slightly, however, it wasn't quite as bad as the pressure on Theo's shoulders.

Callum had gripped tightly. Theo was shocked by the force that the younger man had put into his grip. The boy must not have been thinking, and damn was he ever strong. As the older man looked down at Callum he could see the skin under the boys fingers whiten, although he chose to say nothing. By morning Theo would have hand shaped bruises on his shoulders, but he didn't care, his chest was evidence that he had endured worse.

It wasn't long before the two men found themselves sitting along side one another on Theo's bed only inches apart. Theo had been staring straight ahead, not really focusing on anything in particular before his ears caught Callum's apology and he looked down at the boy.

"You don't have to be sorry, I am not exactly 'proper' company, so you don't have to act like I am." Theo said with a grin. He was throwing some caution to wind with his words, but somehow they felt like the right thing to say. He ignored the reddening skin for the moment. It wasn't a big issue for the pirate. Although at feeling Callum's soft fingers against his shoulder a lust began to brew from within him. Familiar, yet completely different as it had never been for a man.

As Theo's face began to redden from his own thoughts, he smiled towards Callum. " I don't judge you for what you are. I sit here beside you.." The words he wanted to say, Theo knew he couldn't, knew that at this time they wouldn't be right and that he might scare the prince. "I judge you based on who you are. And I'm... glad that you fell this comfortable to tell me things. So thank you." Theo's face grew closer to Callum's as he moved a rough palm over one of Callum's hands.

Taking a few moments to just stare into Callum's puffy red eyes, Theo almost leaned in for a kiss, but stopped himself and backed away. "Callum, there is something different about you.. and I can't put my finger on it.. but I.." He cut off looking around at nothing before giving in and leaning in to give Callum a little peck on the lips. He couldn't describe the feeling in his gut. It wasn't like when he would take a woman into his bed. Theo didn't wait to observe Callum's reaction before wrapping one arm around the small boy. He fit so perfectly that Theo couldn't resist. He moved one leg behind Callum and gave the boy another kiss, this one a little less shy but still a quick peck, pulling the boy on top of him.

It took a few long moments before the intentions of Theo's second brain to calm themselves and the men found themselves in one anothers arms. Theo had his arms loosely draped over Callum, not so much as to hold him down, but just enough to so Callum wouldn't fall off his chest. The only covers that Theo had over him was the Prince and soft sea air that blew threw his window. He hadn't talked in the later half of the men's cuddling; Theo had just wanted to enjoy Callum's company, The boys hair laying loose over his shoulder, and the light caresses of Callum's fingers against Theo's chest. The awkwardness fell away to leave only comfort that lulled the pirate to sleep soon after. One arm loosened and slid off to dangle off the edge of the bed.

”The Investor” Claudius

Claudius chuckled lightly as he watched the Rakshasa take a drink of the wine he had ordered from Adam. ” I do not lie young one. However, if you wish to change your choice of beverage I would allow it. Now that you have finished testing my range of beverage gathering” The words were flowing smoothly from Claudius’ mouth, however his word choice was almost odd, as if the man had never interacted with a group like this before, and to be honest, he hadn’t. The man’s eyes watched each guest order their drink, or not order anything at all. Claudius gazed closely, surveying the reactions of each member closely. Joy ran through through him as he imagined what each would order to eat.

”Mister Elf I can assure you I am not here to poison, betray, or trick you. And Adam would get you even something as simple as berry juice or water.” Claudius said with a smile, a slight annoyance in his tone. He had never heard of such behavior, and he didn't like this elf’s attitude. The man watched the winged elf order water and the girl sitting to Claudius’ left order strawberry juice. Both choices made Claudius confused, but he didn’t mention it to the group. The man shifted in chair slightly as he got ready to announce why he had brought this group together. He would have a quick one on one chat with the members after dinner and really see where everyone stands on the idea, if they didn't express themselves at the table.

”Now then, let us talk business before we eat.” Claudius said as he stood from his chair. His posture changing into something of a more serious aspect as the foxes that had been sitting in the doorway rise and run to sit straight up and in a straight line behind Claudius’ chair. ” The demons, the monsters, the creatures, whatever your people have called them. They will attack again. I have devised a system and selected you to defend this land, and your own against them.” Claudius finished, surveying the room again, this time waiting on the reactions of the table.

”Some of you have greatness to offer this group, and others need a hand to find their greatness, but I believe I have arranged the best group to close that gap in the sky.” The man seemed to relax, taking his seat once again and taking a sip of his wine. He didn't know hat to expect from people. He hadn't gauged enough reactions from enough beings to truly understand if his group would even want to engage the creatures that plagued their world. But he did believe that they possessed the right skills to close the gap.

Theo chuckled softly, keeping a kind smile on his face. The name brought back memories. In the beginning they weren't pleasant. It started in a cell, attached to a table. It continued with no food or water. The climax was the clicking of a wheel and pulling of limbs. Theo couldn't forget the ending though, because it ended with a visit from a prince. The name William.

The pirate was still paying attention. He quickly brought himself back into the problems of the prince and watched the man let everything out. Theo looked down at the little drawing and as Callum began to break down even more the smile faded from Theo's face. The hardships of the a royal born too late. Theo stood up beside Callum. He wanted to comfort the prince, but he wasn't sure how what he could do. The pirate gently gripped Callum's wrist, and moved in front of him peering down at the small prince.

"It's ok.." Theo said as he took the book from Callum and laid it on the table. "It's not though, its hard and unfair and boring and painful, and it's not ok and I get it." Seeing the tears in Callum's eyes, and without thinking, the pirate pulled Callum to the his chest then let go and wrapped his arms around the smaller man. "But you can share it with me". The mans arms were wrapped around Callum carefully, but strong. He liked how the prince felt in it arms, but would let go if Callum pulled away from him. A breeze of cold ocean air blow through the open window of the cell, blowing out the candle.
